General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Buick Verano and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in PARK. Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
If the key is removed without the transmission in PARK, the vehicle may rollaway as occupants are exiting, increasing the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the key cylinder lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on October 14, 2016. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore all-wheel-drive vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to September 9, 2013; Verano vehicles manufactured August 8, 2012, to June 20, 2013; Chevrolet Cruze vehicles manufactured August 7, 2012, to August 16, 2013, and 2012-2014 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles manufactured May 10, 2011, to August 16, 2012 equipped with a Calix oil pan/block heater. In cold temperatures, the insulation on the engine block heater cord can become damaged, allowing the wires to be exposed.
Exposed wires increase the risk of electrical shock and personal injury if the cord is handled while it is plugged in.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil pan/block heater cord with a new cord that is rated for temperatures of minus 40 degree Celsius. The recall began in August 2014. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14257.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the driver's front air bag inflator may have been manufactured with an incorrect part.
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's air bag, the air bag's inflator may rupture and the air bag may not inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike and potentially seriously injure the vehicle occupants. Additionally, if the air bag does not inflate, the driver is at an increased risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side air bag, free of charge. The recall began on June 28, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14305.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles equipped with a 1.4L turbo engine, and manufactured between November 28, 2012, and March 7, 2014. On the affected vehicles, the right front half shaft may fracture and separate.
If the half shaft fractures and separates while driving, the vehicle would lose power and coast to a stop. If a vehicle with a fractured half shaft is parked without the parking brake applied, the vehicle could move unexpectedly. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the right half shaft, as needed, free of charge. Parts for the remedy are not currently available. GM will send an interim letter to owners in May 2014. A second owner letter will be mailed when parts are available. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-866-694-6546. GM's number for this recall is 14079. This is an expansion of recall 13V-452. NOTE: Some vehicles subject to this recall were subject to the recall campaign initiated in 2013. Some of those vehicles were repaired using defective parts. Those owners will be advised that they must have their vehicles remedied again under this campaign and that having the earlier recall completed did not remedy their vehicles.

General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles equipped with manual transmissions (MF3/MR5) and manufactured January 24, 2013, through August 1, 2013. On the affected vehicles, the right front half shaft may fracture and separate.

For the airbag the car was sold to me without a working airbag. It’s in the steering wheel (I have been told this by a Chevrolet dealership) and the part that is broken is the part that will make it inflate in case of crash. This is scary to me. I was just in my first (and hopefully only) accident a month before in a more steely car and while no airbags were deployed it still hurts. The second issue is with the fuel pump or sensor - the coding is very unsure but the dash (including the mechanical gauge) says the car will go from half tank to empty on an 8 mile drive. It has no leaks on the underside and I had it into the mechanic twice. The second time because it stumbled and stalled at a stop light. Before dying - half tank. August 6th they just scanned it with their computer I got no paperwork from them. On the 15th I didn’t get any paperwork either. I will include the shop’s number.

I wanted to file this because I feel this a safety concern. My vehicle has always been kept up on maintenance. One day out no where it started acting up my 2013 Chevy Cruze Ls. I had a shop come back after they did a diagnostic that is was a faulty throttle body sensor and Pcv. I have issues with it shutting off and I’ll have to coast it to stop.What I’m not understanding how can there be recalls for my vechicle same problems same make/model but it’s not showing my vehicle matching up with my Vin #.I do have all the supporting documents and paperwork stating these issues.

Water pump, cooling system. There’s a recall on this system already but not for my vin. The service bulletin describes 100% off issues im having yes manufacture will not help because my vin isn’t attached to service bulletin. Car over heat constantly, I’ve pretty much replaced the entire cooling system twice now. Airbags also faulty. The entire passenger side of vehicle was hit by fedex truck not long after being rear-ended and an adjuster claiming car 95% totaled,( yet still ended up rebuilding it) no airbags deployed in both situations

The contact was riding in a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze. The contact stated that while the driver was driving at an unknown speed, the driver crashed into another vehicle from the driver's side to the other vehicle's rear passenger side due to unable to focus. The contact mentioned the front passenger and the front side passenger air bags were the only air bags that deployed. The contact stated that she was the only one who sustained right wrist, thumb, and burnt arm injuries that needed medical attention. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed. The contact was aware that the vehicle was damaged. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was informed the air bags were Takata air bags and the injuries were caused by the air bags. The approximate failure mileage was unknown.

THE CAR AT RANDOM WILL HAVE A MESSAGE COME UP THAT SAYS AIRBAG SENSOR. THE CAR SHUTS DOWN ON YOU AND WILL NOT START UNTIL CAR IS PUT IN PARK, RAISE HOOD, THEN ROLL DOWN DRIVER WINDOW IN TRAFFIC. THIS SOMETIMES WORK FIRST TRY BUT NOT ALWAYS. THIS CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS I COULD POTENTIALLY BE LEFT PARALYZED. SINCE I'VE HAD A CERVICAL FUSION

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN A CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN BACK TO THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AMERICAN CHEVROLET (4742 MCHENRY AVE, MODESTO, CA 95356, 209-575-1606) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NO MERIT FOR A CLAIM FOR RESTITUTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED BY EMAIL HOWEVER, NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40-45 MPH, SHE HIT A DEER AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THIS FAILURE OCCURRED IN 2018 HOWEVER RECENTLY HER HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 70 MPH, HIT A DEER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOOD WHICH THEN ROLLED OVER ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS ALSO FAILED TO DEPLOY IN THIS INCIDENT AS THE DAMAGE WAS A HUGE DENT IN THE HOOD AND FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED. THE INSURANCE COMPANY WAS CONTACTED AS THE VEHICLE WAS AWAITING INSPECTION. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED YET. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 165,000.

CHEVY CRUZE 2013 LTZ TURBO, I HAVE THE PAPERWORK STATING IT IS TURBO. I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIPS BECAUSE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS TOLD IT WAS FINE. THEY CLEARED EVERYTHING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD DIFFERENT THINGS WHETHER IT HAS TURBO OR NOT. THE TURBO WAS SUPPOSEDLY CHECKED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I BOUGHT IT. THE MECHANIC AT DEALERSHIP SAID IT DID NOT HAVE TURBO. I ASKED THE HEAD MECHANIC TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH ME IN IT. HE DID, THE HEAD MECHANIC CONVINCED ME IT HAD TURBO AND IT WAS WORKING FINE, I SAID IT DOESN'T ACT LIKE IT TO ME, HE SAID THIS IS ALL ITS GOT AND THAT'S IT, THE CAR IS FINE. THE HEAD MECHANIC SAID IT WAS FINE, I SAID SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT, HE CONVINCED EVERYTHING WAS AND TO PUSH THE CLEAR BUTTON WHEN IT WOULD BE AND IT WOULD BE FINE. THIS HAPPENED BETWEEN 2014 AND 2018 THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER THE YEARS. I WAS TOLD TO BASICALLY TOUCH THE CLEAR BUTTON. CODES STARTED TO POP UP; IT STARTED WITH THE WINDOW. I WAS TOLD TO HIT CLEAR BUTTON WHEN THIS HAPPENS, SO I DID. THEN CHECK ENGINE CODES POP UP ON DASH SAYING: ROLE WINDOW DOWN AND BACK UP, CHECK TRANSMISSION, KEY REMOTE NOT DETECTED, START WITH REMOTE START, CHECK AIR BAGS, IT HAS DONE THIS OFF AND ON FOR A SEVERAL YEARS, OFF AND ON . NOW THIS WEEK IT GOT REALLY BAD TO THE POINT THE CAR JUST SHUTS OFF, THEN IT WILL NOT START, UNTIL I TOUCH THE CLEAR BUTTON OR I HAVE TO UNHOOK THE BATTERY OTHERWISE THE DASH WILL NOT TURN OFF AND I CAN'T START IT. I TOOK IT TO HAVE CODES CHECKED AND MASS FLOW SENSOR , THEN IT SAID VAPOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE THEN MAP SENSOR, I REPLACED ALL, THE CAR STILL ACTS THE SAME. CODES STILL APPEAR ON DASH. START THE CAR IT SEEMS OK, THEN YOU DRIVE IT AND THE ENGINE JUST SHUTS OFF AND CODES START TO APPEAR AGAIN. SHOULD THIS BE CHECKED INTO. I CAN'T FIND RECORDS, I WILL TRY, BUT I CAN TELL YOU DEALERSHIPS.

DROVE TO WORK IN THE MORNING AS USUAL WITH NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, CAR SAT IN THE PARKING DURING THE DAY WENT OUT TO DRIVE HOME AT THE END OF THE DAY AND THE AIR BAG TROUBLE LIGHT IN ON. TOOK CAR THE GM DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE CODE DIAGNOSED AND DEALERSHIP INFORMS ME THAT THE AIRBAG AND CONNECTING AIRBAG HARNESS WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE FACT THE AIRBAG WILL NOT RECALIBRATE AND IS NOT COMMUNICATING WITH THE COMPUTER.

I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 35 MPH ON A CITY STREET WHEN THE PERSON IN FRONT OF ME SLAMMED ON THEIR BRAKES THE FIRST TIME I HIT THE BRAKE AND THE CAR STOPPED THE NEXT TIME I HIT THE BRAKE IT WAS HARD AND DIDN'T STOP THE CAR CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME, THE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY AND I THINK IT SHOULD HAVE, CAUSING MY HEAD TO SLAM INTO THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO BITE MY TONGUE IN HALF. I HAVE CONTACT CHEVROLET AND GM MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING THEY LITERALLY HAVE NOT CARED ONE BIT. I BELIEVE THEIR IS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM OR THE VACUUM SYSTEM IN THE BRAKES AND I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED TO IN A CRUZE, I LOOKED IT UP AFTER IT HAPPENED AND I FOUND A FEW OTHER STORIES OF THE SAME THING HAPPENING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ED BOZARTH CHEVROLET (303-751-7500, LOCATED AT 2001 S HAVANA ST, AURORA, CO 80014) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT A COST. THE TECHNICIAN DID NOT DISCLOSE THAT THERE WAS A RECALL; HOWEVER, THE CONTACT WAS LATER INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V372000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A TEN PERCENT DISCOUNT TOWARDS THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 47,000.

I WAS STOPPED IN HIGHWAY TRAFFIC AND REAR-ENDED (I'VE ATTACHED THE CRASH REPORT FROM THE IN STATE POLICE). MY SEAT BELT DID NOT ENGAGE AND MY AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY CAUSING ME TO HIT MY HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN ABRASIONS AND TWO BLACK EYES. THIS SEEMS TO BE EITHER A SERIOUS DESIGN PROBLEM OR A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. REGARDLESS, THE SENSORS THAT CAUSE THE SEAT BELT TO LOCK SHOULD NOT BE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR AS THEY THEN PROVIDE NO PROTECTION FROM A REAR END COLLISION.

ADDITIONALLY, THE CYLINDER HEAD GASKET BLEW UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A CHEVROLET DEALER IN BELLEGLADE, FLORIDA WHERE THE ENGINE WAS REPAIRED AFTER TWO MONTHS. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE BANK. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 100,000.
