Manufacturer failed to provide an adequate remedy for Safety Recall 17V-435 (T36). On 09/12/2018, the dealer "inspected" the 180-AMP alternator (Part 4801833AB) and cleared it as safe. On 09/25/2019, this exact component suffered a total fatigue failure, causing a "no-start" condition and electrical collapse. Safety Risk: This vehicle is equipped with Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS). The alternator failure poses a risk of sudden loss of power steering assist and engine stall, which are the primary safety hazards identified in 17V-435. Regulatory Issue: FCA (Stellantis) has denied reimbursement for the repair by incorrectly citing "Basic Warranty Expiration," which is a violation of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act (Safety recalls do not expire). Furthermore, FCA claims the part is "not covered," despite the dealer invoice identifying it as the 180-AMP unit central to the T36 recall. I am requesting an ODI review of the adequacy of the "inspection-only" remedy for this VIN.

The Anti-Lock Brake module has prematurely failed in the vehicle. The dealership can and will inspect the fault but they will say they are not trained or authorizes to fix the module. I was directed to an ABS module rebuilder and was simply told by the rebuilder that they could not fix it due to a computer chip shortage. The problem has been reproduced many times as seen with the RAM truck recalls on their anti-lock brake modules. The component has not been inspected. There is active warning lights as shown in the picture below. Ive spun out in the rain multiple times at less than 30mph due to the ABS module not activating traction control. It is extremely dangerous.

My display screen went completely black. The blind spot warning system does not work at all as well when the display screen went black. It's completely unresponsive, no navigation, radio, entertainment anything. The a/c is on full blast as if it's on defrost as well. And the language for the car went into German for some reason I have no idea why. It was working completely fine this morning when it happened and when I went to turn on the car it stopped working completely.

In 2015 I had issues with the seat belt alarm on the vehicle going off, stating that passenger and driver seatbelts weren’t buckled. I would get a airbag flashing light stating per manual that the airbags were not activated. Fast forward to July 2015, I had gotten a recall letter for a orc (occupant Restraint module) which affects airbags and seatbelts. I brought in the car to get it fixed per recall. Fast forward to about 2 years later, the same issue had occurred. Airbag light would still pop up and stating that seats belt in the car wasn’t engaged. Brought it in to get it checked out at a local mechanic shop, they couldn’t fix it and stated I need to go to the dealership. They noted that it was affected by the recall of the orc module. Brought in the car to Cutter dodge In pearl city Oahu and they fixed it, at this time I was still covered by warranty. Fast forward to around 2019 I moved to Maui, the same exact issue occurred. Brought it into my friends mechanic shop and he had said the same thing that it’s an ORC module and to bring it to Jim falk dodge in Kahului. Explained to them the issue and they said that they need to replace the OrC module for over $700. I explained to them that this is the same issue occurring with the recall. Why would I need to pay for a faulty recall fix which is affecting me and my families safety where the airbags won’t deploy in an accident which could cause death because the module in the recall wasn’t fixed properly the first time.

WE HAD RECALL P08 HEADLAMP WIRING PERFORMED ON 2/22/15 AT PALMEN DODGE IN RACINE WI. 2 MONTHS LATER WE MOVED TO ARIZONA. WITHIN 6 MONTHS AFTER THIS RECALL WAS ADDRESSED WE CONTINUED TO HAVE HEADLIGHTS GO OUT. AFTER A COUPLE OF TIMES I STARTED KEEPING RECEIPTS. APPROX. EVERY 6 MONTHS WE HAD TO REPLACE OUR HEADLIGHTS (SOMETIMES 1, SOMETIMES BOTH). WE FINALLY HAD A DEALERSHIP BUILT NEAR OUR HOUSE THIS YEAR (RODEO DODGE- SAN TAN VALLEY AZ) SO WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE IT IN WITHOUT TOO MUCH INCONVENIENCE- WE ONLY HAVE 1 CAR & NO RENTAL WAS OFFERED. THE IDENTIFIED THE ISSUE WAS A HEADLAMP HARNESS AND NEEDED TO REPLACE IT. THE COST FOR THIS WORK WAS $729.77. THEY ADVISED THAT IT WASN'T COVERED UNDER THE PREVIOUS RECALL. HOWEVER WHEN READING THE P08 RECALL IT DOES INDICATE "YOUR DEALER WILL REPLACE THE HEADLAMP HARNESSES AND REPLACE THEM IF REQUIRED". IT SEEMS OBVIOUS TO ME THAT THERE WAS A HARNESS OVERLOOKED WHEN THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED IN 2015 THAT CAUSED US TO CONTINUALLY REPLACE HEADLAMPS EVERY 6 MONTHS. I HAVE RECEIPTS FROM THESE HEADLAMPS FROM: FEB 2017, DEC 2017, MAY 2018. THERE WERE A COUPLE ADDITIONAL TIMES BETWEEN MAR 2016 AND FEB 2017 THAT I DID NOT THINK TO KEEP RECEIPTS. I FINALLY HAD THE ISSUE ADDRESSED WHEN BOTH HEADLAMPS WENT OUT IN DEC 2018. SERVICE WASN'T COMPLETED UNTIL 3/5/19 AS IT WAS DIFFICULT FOR US TO BE WITHOUT A CAR FOR THE LENGTH OF TIME WE KNEW IT WOULD TAKE TO HAVE FIXED. I AM ASKING FOR REIMBURSEMENT FROM DODGE IN THE AMOUNT OF $971.37 TO COVER THE WORK DONE TO REPLACE THE HARNESSES AND REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE HEADLIGHTS I NEEDED TO HAVE REPLACED OVER TIME (ONLY THE ONES I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR). SEE ATTACHED. WE WILL BE PURCHASING ANOTHER CAR IN THE NEXT 6-12 MONTHS AND THIS WOULD GO A LONG WAY IN BUILDING MY CONFIDENCE IN DODGE PRODUCTS/SERVICE.

I TRIED THIS AND AT THIS TIME MY CAR WILL START THIS WAY. ALSO MY TRUNK JUST OPENS ON IT'S OWN. THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY. I CALLED DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID IT WAS NOT A RECALL. I'M A DISABLED PERSON, AND I NEED MY CAR TO GET TO AND FROM DOCTOR APPOINTMENTS. I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO PAY TO GET THESE ISSUES FIXED. WHEN YOU ARE DRIVING THE CAR AT NIGHT, SOMETIMES THE HEADLIGHTS WILL GO COMPLETELY OUT, I'VE ALMOST WRECKED TWICE BC OF IT. I STARTED LOOKING ONLINE AND FOUND WHERE IN 2014 THEY RECALLED 50 SUM THOUSAND 2011 AND 2012 CHARGERS FOR THIS REASON, BUT WHEN I CALL THE DEALER AND CHRYSLER THEY TELL ME MY CAR WASN'T PART OF THAT RECALL. BASICALLY THEY WONT PAY FOR IT. I WORK FOR A BIG CAR MANUFACTURER AND I KNOW THAT IF A CUSTOMER COMPLAINED ABOUT SOMETHING THAT COULD POSSIBLY CAUSE THEM TO DIE OR KILL OTHERS THEY WOULD FIX IT, ALL I WANT IS IT FIXED BEFORE I GET HURT OR HURT OTHERS
