Recalls and investigations

  1. Air bags, frontal, passenger side, inflator moduleDo not drive until repairedJan 15, 2019

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2010 Dodge Ram 3500, Ram 4500/5500, 2010-2011 Dodge Dakota, 2010-2014 Dodge Challenger, 2010-2015 Dodge Challenger, Chrysler 300, and 2010-2016 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. Upon deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, excessive internal pressure may cause the inflator to explode.

In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could explode with metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death.

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the recall repair is complete. Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began February 4, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V01.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain Mopar Stage 1 Kit Performance Packages Powertrain Control Modules (PCM) Part Numbers P5160023, P5160025, and Demon Crate PCM Part Number 68412287AA. The PCMs are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.

Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will either perform a software update or replace the PCM, free of charge. The recall began July 26 , 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U82, and U83.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, A BURNING ODOR WAS PRESENT INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE STALLED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE BRAKE, ABS, AND BATTERY SENSOR LIGHTS ILLUMINATED DURING THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE ALTERNATOR WAS FAULTY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V634000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE SAME DEFECT LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. MAILED OUT 01/13/15*LJ

  2. Power train, Engine, Nov 27, 2014

THE VEHICLE'S ENGINE WAS COLD AND IT HAD BEEN SITTING IN A PARKING LOT FOR FOUR DAYS. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC FROM A TOLL BOOTH. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PAST APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH AND IT LOST SPEED BUT THE RPMS WERE INCREASING. THIS WENT ON FOR APPROXIMATELY FIVE SECONDS AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I WAS ABLE TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC. I DROVE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES AT 70 MPH (AFTER CALLING A SERVICING DEALER WHO TOLD ME I WOULD BE OKAY DRIVING THE CAR UNLESS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH) THEN STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC LIGHT. AT THE NEXT TWO TRAFFIC LIGHTS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WITH CARS BACKED UP BEHIND ME AND HONKING. THE MPH WERE AT 15 BUT THE RPMS WERE AT 2200. THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT FIVE SECONDS AT EACH LIGHT THEN HAPPENED AGAIN AS I TRIED TO MERGE ONTO ANOTHER HIGHWAY THAT WAS UNDER CONSTRUCTION WITH CONCRETE BARRIERS ON BOTH SIDES AND HAD NO WHERE FOR ME TO WAIT FOR ACCELERATION. THE SERVICING DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T GET MY CAR IN FOR 4 DAYS. TWO DAYS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT OFF. THE NEXT DAY THE SERVICING DEALER SAID THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM WITHOUT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. THEY DROVE IT FOR THREE DAYS AND THEN GAVE IT BACK TO ME UNDIAGNOSED. THE NEXT DAY THEY SAID BRING IT BACK IN BECAUSE DODGE ENGINEERS READ THE COMPUTER CODE AND TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICING DEALER DISCOVERED METAL SHAVINGS IN THE PAN WHILE REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. THE SERVICING DEALER DID NOT KNOW WHAT CAUSED METAL SHAVINGS IN THE PAN BUT ONE OF THEIR EMPLOYEES TOLD ME ON THE SIDE THEY SEE THE PROBLEM A LOT AND DRIVERS WILL CALL BECAUSE THEY HEAR A LOUD BOOM FROM THE CAR .I AM A WEEK OUT WITH THE NEW TRANSMISSION AND STILL NOTICE IT DOES NOT UPSHIFT SMOOTHLY WHEN THE ENGINE IS COLD. NEITHER THE SERVICING DEALER OR THE SELLING DEALER WILL HELP ME WITH AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. *TR

BATTERY SAVER MESSAGE WENT ON. LIGHTS FLICKERED.SINCE THERE IS AN UPCOMING RECALL ON ALTERNATOR WITH THE 2014 MODELS MANUFACTURED APRIL 22, 2010, TO JANUARY 2, 2014 AND MY CARS MANUFACTURED DATE IS MAY OF 2014 I HOPE YOU WILL INCLUDE ALL 2014 MODELS FOR THE RECALL. ALTHOUGH MY ALTERNATOR HAS YET TO COMPLETELY FAIL THE HISTORY OF THE CURRENT FAILURES BEGAN WITH BATTERY SAVER MESSAGES AND ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THIS RESOLVED BEFORE MY CAR LOSES POWER ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 3 CHILDREN IN IT AND POSSIBLE GETTING HURT. ALSO IF THE ALTERNATOR IN THIS CAR IS DIFFERENT THAN THE RECALL AND IS SHOWING PROBLEMS IN MY CAR DODGE MIGHT BE REPLACING THE CURRENT RECALL ALTERNATORS WITH THE ALTERNATOR IN MY CAR. *TR

  4. Exterior lighting, Oct 20, 2014

THE LED STOP LIGHTS ON ALL THE NEW VEHICLES ARE VERY, VERY BRIGHTS. WHEN DIRECTLY BEHIND ON AFTER DARK AT A STOP THE LIGHTS ARE SO BRIGHT THAT THEY HURT MY EYES, FORCING ME TO CLOSE MY EYES UNTIL THEY RELEASE THE BRAKE. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY MAKE/MODEL WITH THIS ISSUE: ALL NEW CARS WITH LED BRAKE LIGHTS HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

  5. Electrical system, Oct 1, 2014

RADIO SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT TURN ON WHILE DRIVING TO DESTINATION. ONCE I GOT TO MY DESTINATION, I HAD THE CAR IN PARK, BUT THE ENGINE STILL TURNED ON. ALL OF THE GAUGES IN THE DASHBOARD STARTED GOING CRAZY AND THEN THE INSIDE LIGHTS STARTED FLASHING. THE CAR THEN SHUT OFF AND HAD ABSOLUTELY NO POWER WHATSOEVER. COULD NOT EVEN PUT MY CAR IN "NEUTRAL" TO MOVE IT OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD BECAUSE IT IS "PUSH TO START" AND HAS NO WAY OF GETTING POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION TO BE ABLE TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL. I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WAITING FOR DODGE'S ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO GET THERE FROM 12:00 AM UNTIL 5:30 AM. THE TOW TRUCK EVENTUALLY CAME AND TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT THAT MY ALTERNATOR WENT OUT AND COMPLETELY DRAINED THE BATTERY AS WELL. MY CAR WAS ONLY 3 THOUSAND MILES OUTSIDE OF THE 36K BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY AND ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. WELL TIMED, DODGE!! WAY TO GET OUT OF PAYING FOR YOUR MISTAKES!! *TR

  6. Electrical system, Seats, Other or unspecified, Sep 26, 2014, fire

  7. Power train, Sep 14, 2014

I WAS DRIVING A RENTED 2014 DODGE CHARGER ON A RURAL ROAD AND NEEDED TO TURN AROUND. I BEGAN A THREE POINT TURN AND WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION IN TO REVERSE THE SHIFTER WOULD NOT GO IN TO THE REVERSE POSITION. AS A RESULT I WAS STUCK CROSSWISE ACROSS THE ROAD, IN DANGER OF BEING STRUCK BROADSIDE BY ANY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. FORTUNATELY THERE WASN'T ANY TRAFFIC. I CONTINUED TO ATTEMPT TO SHIFT IN TO REVERSE AND AFTER SEVERAL MORE ATTEMPTS I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO. THIS WAS JUST ONE OF SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE WEEK I RENTED THIS VEHICLE THAT I WAS UNABLE TO PUT THE SHIFTER IN TO THE GEAR I NEEDED, WHETHER IT BE DRIVE OR REVERSE. THIS IS A POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS FLAW. THE SHIFTER ON THIS VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY VAGUE AND FREQUENTLY OVERSHOOTS THE DESIRED POSITION. THE SHIFTER SEEMS TO BE ELECTRIC RATHER THAN MECHANICAL WHICH WOULD ACCOUNT FOR THE ABSENCE OF A MECHANICAL LOCKING OF THE SHIFTER. *TR

  8. Air bags, Sep 4, 2014, crash

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT AND NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.

  9. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 26, 2014

EVER SINCE PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE THERE HAS BEEN A CLUNKING NOISE AND THE WHOLE CAR MOVES WHENEVER PUTTING IN GEAR OR PUTTING IN PARK. AND THERE IS A LOUD CLUNK. I WENT TO PURCHASE GAS AT A SHELL STATION( I ONLY USE SHELL PREMIUM GAS) AND WENT INSIDE TO PAY FOR THE GAS. I CAME BACK HIT THE FUEL DOOR RELEASE BUTTON AND WENT TO THE PUMP. I WENT TO PLACE THE NOZZLE IN MY TANK AND THE METAL PLATE THAT COVERS THE FUEL TANK WOULDNT NOT MOVE. I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND HE CAME TO HELP ME AND THERE WAS NO WAY TO GET THE PLATE OPEN. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND WAS TOLD THAT THEY HAD NEVER HEARD ANYTHING LIKE THAT HAD I TRIED TO PUT DIESEL IN MY TANK. I AM A FORMER TRUCK DRIVER AND KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DIESEL AND REGULAR GAS. AND THAT WAS NOT THE ISSUE. THE DEALERSHIP ALSO COULD NOT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I WENT TO A STATION THAT HAS A MECHANIC AND HE USED A TOOL AND WAS ABLE TO UNLOCK IT SO THAT WE COULD FILL UP THE TANK. I AM NOT CURRENTLY DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL THE DEALERSHIP CAN GET IT IN TO BE REPAIRED BECAUSE IF I DID RUN OUT OF GAS THERE IS NO WAY FOR ME TO PUT GAS IN THE VEHICLE. SO I AM STUCK WITHOUT A VEHICLE EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A BRAND NEW CAR WITH LESS THAN 5,000 MILES ON IT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS BECAUSE NO ONE SEEMS TO KNOW HOW TO FIX THE PROBLEM. AND ALL THE DEALERSHIPS IN THE HOUSTON AREA HAVE A 4 -5 DAY WAIT TIME FOR THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR. *TR

  10. Engine, Aug 24, 2014

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON CAR SPUTTERED. *TR

  11. Power train, Equipment adaptive/mobility, Aug 24, 2014

WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, MY TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SLIP/SKIP AND STARTED TO SHIFT VERY ROUGHLY FROM THAT POINT. AFTER A FEW VISITS TO MY DEALER AND AFTER THEY KEPT MY CAR FOR A WEEK, IT WAS THEN DETERMINED THAT THE VALVE BODY INSIDE THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACED, AND CHRYSLER WILL NOT GIVE RENTAL CARS OUT DUE TO THE VEHICLE STILL BEING DRIVABLE. (WTF?) THE PART NEEDED TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION IS ON BACKORDER AND CHRYSLER CURRENTLY DOES NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE IT IN BECAUSE IT HAS TO COME FROM A VENDOR, SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH A $40000 PAPER WEIGHT IN MY DRIVEWAY UNTIL CHRYSLER GETS OFF THEIR SORRY BUTTS TO GET THIS PROBLEM RESOLVED. DUE TO THIS PART BEING ON BACKORDER, THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A COMMON PROBLEM THAT I FEEL CHRYSLER SHOULD MAKE A RECALL. *TR

  12. Engine, Aug 7, 2014

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, CALLED THE DEALER AND HE SAID BRING IT IN AND WE DID. THEY RAN ALL KINDS OF TEST ON THE ENGINE AND THEY DETERMINED THAT THE CAM SHAFT WAS BAD. THE DEALER WAS IN CONTACT WITH CHRYSLER HEADQUARTERS ,THERE DECISION WAS TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE. *TR

  13. Vehicle speed control, Jul 21, 2014

I RECENTLY PURCHASED A NEW DODGE CHARGER WHICH IS EQUIPPED WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ACCESSORY. THE OPERATION OF THIS CONTROL IS A SAFETY PROBLEM AS FOLLOWS: FOR EXAMPLE, I SET THE SPEED FOR 55 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH CRUISES THE AUTOMOBILE AT THIS SPEED. I THEN ARRIVE AT A 65 MPH LIMIT STRETCH OF ROAD AND SO I ACCELERATE BY PRESSING THE RES/+CONTROL TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE TO 65 MPH. WITH ALL PREVIOUS CRUISE CONTROLS, WHEN I STOP PRESSING THIS CONTROL AT 65 MPH, THE SPEED STABILIZES. WITH THIS ACC, IT CONTINUES TO ACCELERATE LIKE A ROCKET UNTIL I CANCEL, TURN OFF THE CRUISE CONTROL OR HIT THE BRAKES. THE REVERSE ALSO APPLIES IF I WISH TO SLOW DOWN, REMOVING THE PRESSURE ON THE SET/-DOES NOTHING AND THE VEHICLE STILL CONTINUES TO SLOW DOWN. IT IS POSSIBLE TO SWITCH FROM THE ACC TO NORMAL CRUISE CONTROL, BUT THIS PROBLEM IS STILL APPARENT. I AM NOW ALMOST FAMILIAR WITH THIS PROBLEM AND CAN ACT ACCORDINGLY, BUT MY WIFE DRIVES THE VEHICLE OCCASIONAL AND SHE HAS PROBLEMS BECAUSE HER OWN VEHICLE DOES NOT OPERATE IN A SIMILAR MANNER TO THIS CRUISE CONTROL. I AM SURE THAT OTHER OCCASIONAL DRIVERS FIND THIS PROBLEMATIC, AND IT APPEARS TO BE AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN IF IT HASN'T ALREADY. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST SIX MONTHS, AND THEY CONTACTED CHRYSLER. INITIALLY, CHRYSLER ASKED FOR THE CONTROL HARDWARE BE SHIPPED TO THEM FOR ANALYSIS. THIS WAS DONE BY THE DEALER BUT CHRYSLER INFORMED US THEY COULD NOT FIND A PROBLEM. WITH MY LATEST VISIT I WAS INFORMED THAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO OPERATE IN THIS FASHION, BUT THE HANDBOOK DOES NOT MENTION ANY OF THESE CONTROL ISSUES. *TR

  14. Power train, Electrical system, Jul 18, 2014

ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING. TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AND DEALER STATED THAT IT'S AN O2 SENSOR MALFUNCTION. DEALER HAD THE CAR FOR 2 DAYS. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY REPLACED ALL O2 SENSORS. ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AFTER 1 WEEK. TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SOFTWARE HAD TO BE UPGRADED. AFTER 3 DAYS, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. TOOK IT BACK TO THE SAME DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS HAS TO BE CHANGE. SERVICE PERSON SAID THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO ORDER PARTS AND AS SOON AS IT ARRIVES. HE WILL CONTACT US. AFTER 4 DAYS, WE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THAT THE SERVICE PERSON THAT TOOK CARE OF US FROM DAY 1 HAD BEEN TERMINATED. SPOKE TO A NEW SERVICE PERSON AND HE STATED THAT HE 'S NOT AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. WE INSISTED THAT THE CAR BE DIAGNOSE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AND GAVE US AN APPOINTMENT ON 7/19/14. IN THE MEAN TIME, THE CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN TOO FAR. PERFORMANCE OF THE CAR IS VERY ERRATIC AND WOULD FEEL THAT IT WOULD SHUT OFF. ALTHOUGH, SERVICE PERSON STATED THAT IS OK TO BE DRIVEN. *TR

  15. Wheels, Jun 16, 2014

THERE IS HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION BETWEEN MILE MARKER 314-320 INTERSTATE 65 NORTH BOUND. I WAS APPROX DRIVING IN THE LEFT HAND LANE AT 4:15PM ON WEDNESDAY JUNE 11 2014. I WAS GOING APPROACHING THE OVERPASS AND THERE WAS NO TRANSITION ASPHALT ON REMOVED THE REMOVED EXISTING ROAD AND THE 3 INCH STEP UP TO THE OVERPASS BRIDGE. NO VISIBLE SIGNS FOR WARNINGS. I HIT THE CURB AND IMMEDIATELY NOTICE A VIBRATION ON MY LEFT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL. APPROACH 100 YDS FROM THE OVERPASS,THERE WERE 2 OTHER CARS (2007 MERCEDES BENZ E300 AND OLDER MODEL CHEVY PICKUP) CHANGING FLAT TIRES, DUE TO THIS UNLEVELED TRANSITION. MAKING IT HOME TO HUNTSVILLE I HAD A 1 INCH V SHAPE DINT IN MY RIM BUSTED TIRE AND ALIGNMENT OFF. I CALLED AND ORDERED A NEW RIM, HOWEVER THEY SENT ME A EMAIL STATING THE RIMS ARE DISCONTINUED. SO LEAVING ME TO HAVE TO ORDER NEW RIMS AND TIRES FOR MY CAR. I WOULD LIKE FOR THIS MATTER TO BE RESOLVED IMMEDIATELY. I HAVE PICTURES AND RECEIPTS OF EVERYTHING., *TR

MY VEHICLE IS A 2014 DODGE CHARGER RT MAX AWD WITH A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM...DURING 3-4 UPSHIFT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS PRODUCED WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-40MPH. TAKEN AND SERVICED AT MARINO CJD IN CHICAGO ON 6/2/14. VALVEBODY ASSEMBLY REPLACED. ON 6/3/14 DURING 3-4 UPSHIFT BETWEEN 35-45MPH CHECK ENGINE LIGHT PRODUCED AGAIN AND ENGINE POWER LOST FOR 6 SECONDS AND THEN REGAINED. TAKEN FOR SERVICE AGAIN TO MARINO CJD. TECHNICIAN RELATED SAME PROBLEM AGAIN. CHRYSLER MAIN OFFICE INSTRUCTED DEALERSHIP NOT TO REPLACE THE VALVEBODY ASSEMBLY AGAIN AS THE PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. CHRYSLER MAIN OFFICE AWARE OF THE EXISTING PROBLEM IN SIMILAR VEHICLES AS WELL AND STATED NO SOLUTION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME. TECHNICIAN AT DEALERSHIP RELATED VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED BY CHRYSLER. CHRYSLER TOLD THE DEALERSHIP TO CLEAR THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CODE AND GIVE ME BACK THE VEHICLE KNOWING FULL WELL THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE CONDITION ITS IN. VEHICLE STILL AT MARINO DEALERSHIP SITTING IN THE LOT. PLEASE LOOK INTO THE PROBLEM AS CHRYSLER DOESN'T CARE THAT I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE THAT I PURCHASED 2 MONTHS AGO. *TR

  17. Steering, Suspension, Structure, May 30, 2014, crash

WHILE TRAVELING ON THE FREEWAY (IN THE LANE NEXT TO THE CARPOOL LANE) THE CAR IMMEDIATELY PULLED TO THE EXTREME LEFT CAUSING ME TO CRASH INTO THE CENTER DIVIDER. DURING THIS TIME, I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. WHEN I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE TIRE WAS PULLED BACK NEXT TO THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR, BUT STILL UPRIGHT AND HEADED FORWARD. YOU COULD SEE WHERE THE TIRE HAD BEEN SPINNING AGAINST THE BODY OF THE CAR. (THESE ARE KNOWN SYMPTOMS OF A FAILED BALL JOINT) UNFORTUNATELY, THE COMPLETE TIRE ASSEMBLY WAS RIPPED OFF AS IT WAS LOADED ONTO THE TOW TRUCK. CHRYSLER HAS SINCE RULED THAT THE ACCIDENT WAS CAUSED BY MY "MISUSE/ABUSE" OF THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER, IT WAS ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD AND VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF. A TOTAL OF $13,000 OF DAMAGE WAS DONE TO CAR, OF WHICH THEY HAVE PLACED THE BLAME SOLELY ON ME; BASED OFF OF PHOTOS THAT I TOOK AFTER THE ACCIDENT. I WAITED THREE WEEKS FOR THEM TO SEND AN INVESTIGATOR OUT TO LOOK AT MY CAR... HE NEVER SHOWED UP. THE REPAIR WORK WAS STARTED ON MY VEHICLE WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION. (COVER UP??) THE BODY SHOP (WHICH IS AT THE DODGE DEALERSHIP WHERE I INITIALLY PURCHASED THE CAR) HAS SINCE ADVISED ME TO LET THEM FINISH THE REPAIR WORK, AND ATTEMPT TO TRADE THE CAR IN. I HAVE EXPRESSED TO THEM AND THE CHRYSLER GROUP THAT I WOULD NOT FEEL SAFE IN THAT CAR IF IT WAS FIXED. I ALSO FIND IT UNFAIR THAT MY INSURANCE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THEIR MISTAKE AND FAULTY PART. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THAT ACCIDENT, I HOPE THAT OTHERS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM WILL COME FORTH SO THAT LIVES MAY BE SAVED IN THE FUTURE AND INJURIES PREVENTED. *TR

  18. Exterior lighting, May 12, 2014

THE NEW LINE OF DODGE CARS (CHALLENGER, DART, CHARGER) HAVE A LED RING OF LIGHTS AS THE REAR TAIL LIGHTS ON THE CARS. THEY ARE WAY TOO BRIGHT FOR TAIL LIGHTS (NOTICE I DIDN'T SAY BRAKE LIGHTS). THEY NEED TO BE CHANGED OUT WITH SOFTER/DIMMER LIGHTS. IT'S LIKE FOLLOWING SOMEONE WITH HIGH-BEAM TAIL LIGHTS. I HOPE THERE IS SOMETHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE DODGE STOP DOING THIS, AND PREVENT OTHER AUTO MAKERS FROM INSTALLING BRIGHT LED LIGHTS ON THE REAR OF CARS. *TR
