  1. Steering, Mar 4, 2024

In April of 2023 I reported to Honda corporate and a local dealership that I was having an issue with “sticky” steering. I took it to the dealer, and was told there were no recalls, and that they couldn’t replicate the problem. I just left it to even though I could still feel it. Now, as of March 2024 it has started again as soon as the weather starts to get warmer. Once you feel it it’s very obvious that it’s happening. It’s when you make small adjustments on the highway to stay in the lane and when the weather is warmer. There is a distinct point where you feel resistance moving the wheel. Almost like the power steering is failing for a brief second. Based on the amount of reports of this Honda has to know this was a flaw in design yet refuses to fix it.

  4. Steering, Feb 28, 2024

After driving for anywhere between 30 minutes to 1 hour, the steering wheel becomes “sticky” in certain positions, prohibiting me from making fine adjustments at high speeds (50mph+) I’ve noticed this issue over a year ago. It interfered with highway driving but was livable. However a couple days ago this issue became amplified and the stickiness has become a lot more exaggerated. This has caused much worse over correction while steering. Issue has become so bad that it is now a major safety concern for me. Vehicles is difficult to control on the highway and results in the car swerving due to the overcorrection jerks from the sticky steering wheel.

  5. Electrical system, Feb 28, 2024

  11. Steering, Feb 15, 2024

The part i have narrowed down the problem to is the electric power steering rack. While driving down the highway at highway speeds, +50 mph, the steering will stick / hang up and then once the vehicle starts to sway / push out to one side or the other of its own lane, when you try and correct the steering to get the vehicle back to center in its lane, the steering will somewhat free up, but this happens all at once in a sudden surge and that is when your speed is the factor as to how violent you may swerve. This happens every time the vehicle is driven and it seems to be more prevalent once the vehicle hits the operating temperature or on days when mother nature decides to give us some +90° temperature days. Reading thru forums on the interweb, I have ran into several threads with others experiencing the same issue.

  12. Wheels, Other or unspecified, Feb 15, 2024

The TRMS system constantly displays low tire pressure. I correct the tire pressure and reset the TRMS every time but it happens again and again. . The dealer has also reset the TRMS system, and in a few days it indicated that the tire pressure went down again. I have complained to the Honda dealerships and my mechanic. They’ve not found anything wrong. If the tires are good maybe there’s something wrong with the wheels. Although I have extensive receipts for all my maintenance and repairs, and I’ve frequently complained, they seldom indicate my complaints about tire pressure.

  14. Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 13, 2024

In regards to NHTSA Recall number 23V-858, Honda campaign KGC, service bulletin 23-103, the notice states the vehicle could "lose drive power, or stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash or injury." It goes on to state "The replacement parts needed to repair your vehicle are not currently available but are expected to become available in the fall of 2024." Considering the apparent substantial safety risk, how is it acceptable that a repair is delayed by up to 9 months?

  15. Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 13, 2024

Regarding NHTSA Recall Number 23V-858, Honda campaign KGC, Service Bulletin 23-103, the recall notice indicates an increased likelihood of a failed fuel pump while driving, "increasing the risk of a crash or injury". 17. Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 12, 2024

Dealer canceled twice Morehead Honda did little to fix my problem. They asked me to call parts department daily to check if correct part came in. Poor customer service and terrible communication.

  18. Steering, Feb 6, 2024

In the middle of driving, the power steering rack had a complete meltdown which caused the steering to lockup. Luckily my wife and kids were not hurt but according to Honda, the rack broke beyond repair out of the blue.

  19. Steering, Feb 6, 2024

Electronic steering is intermittently becoming "notchy" or sticky when making steering corrections. This appears to be a known issue with 2016-2024 Civics. I'm concerned this could lead to a loss of steering. Honda service is aware of the issues, but currently there is no recall for this component (electronic steering rack).

  20. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 5, 2024

  22. Other or unspecified, Jan 22, 2024

the evaporator of the AC system failed at 48k miles. We live in Houston Texas and AC is not a luxury it's a requirement making the vehicle unsafe to drive in the extreme temperatures. Honda knows that this is an issue and has recalled both the condenser and compressor of the AC system to a ten year warranty. We're asking that the evaporator also be added to the recall. The cost of repair of the item is almost 1700 US dollars. It's a terrible situation. As the car is like new but out of manufacturers warranty being left with a ridiculous repair cost on a part that should last for the lifetime of the vehicle. I have a Toyota that is 13 years old and never had any issues with the AC system. Thank you.

  23. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 12, 2024

The engine light pops up on the dashboard stating an “emissions” issue. When scanned, it says that the fuel pump is malfunctioning.

  24. Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 9, 2024

I was driving from work, when pressing the gas pedal would not accelerate the vehicle. I was passing over a bridge when the problem occurred. It was in heavy traffic and near a onramp for a busy interstate. I arrived at a stop light before the onramp, and different warning lights on my dash lit up. There were no warning lights on prior to this moment. I tried starting the car again with my hazard lights on, but it would not "turn over". I assumed that either my battery/alternator was having problems or the engine was not receiving fuel to start. Traffic was too heavy for me to get out of my car and thankfully, no one hit me or my car. After trying to jump the car, I had it towed to a small mechanic recommended to me that night. The next morning, I was informed that the codes indicated a problem with the fuel pump and that Honda had a safety recall out. They said to tow it to a certified dealer to get the problem fixed. The Honda dealership received the car that day, after closing, and I called the next morning. I was told that the dealership could not touch my car because the recall was not official. I asked about a loaner car or reimbursement for a rental car and informed that they would get back to me soon with an answer and I should call Honda Customer Care. I was informed that yes the dealership should be able to assess my car and though the recall is not out yet, they could fix it and I would pay out of pocket to be reimbursed when the recall became official. After multiple days and calls, they finally ran the diagnostic codes and confirmed that the fuel pump is affected and that the recall is the culprit, but they could not fix it because it was not official and they did not have the parts. I was finally told last night that they could order parts and fix it by Friday. Customer Care called again today, telling me they do not know how to fix it. No other transportation has been offered and having one vehicle has put a strain on my wife and I.

  25. Steering, Jan 8, 2024

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the steering was inoperable. The contact stated that the steering failed to function as intended. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed rack and pinon and stabilizer link. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion and the stabilizer link needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.
