The affected vehicles have a passenger side frontal air bag that may be susceptible to moisture intrusion which, over time, could cause the inflator to rupture upon its deployment.

In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the passenger's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the passenger seat occupant or other occupants possibly causing serious injury or death.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2015. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's frontal air bag, the inflator could rupture with metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver frontal air bag inflator, free of charge. The recall began on July 1, 2015. HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2002 THROUGH 2004 CR-V; MODEL YEAR 2003 THROUGH 2005 PILOT; AND MODEL YEAR 2002 AND 2003 CIVIC VEHICLES. IN MARCH 2012, HONDA FILED A DEFECT REPORT TO RECALL CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2002 THROUGH 2004 CR-V AND CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2003 PILOT VEHICLES. IN AUGUST 2012, HONDA INFORMED THE AGENCY THAT IT WAS INCLUDING AN ADDITIONAL 820,789 VEHICLES INCLUDING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2004 AND 2005 PILOTS AND MODEL YEAR 2002 AND 2003 CIVICS. THE TOTAL NUMBER OF VEHICLES BEING RECALLED IS NOW 1,375,217. DUE TO TENSION FROM THE COMBINATION SWITCH WIRING HARNESS, WEAR ON THE SURFACE OF THE ELECTRICAL TERMINAL CAN OCCUR, YIELDING COPPER OXIDE, WHICH INCREASES ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE. INCREASED ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE MAY CAUSE THE TERMINAL ENDS TO MELT WITHIN THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR.

IF THE TERMINAL ENDS MELT WITHIN THE WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR, THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS MAY BECOME INOPERATIVE, REDUCING DRIVER VISIBILITY AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS, AND DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE LOW BEAM TERMINAL HARNESS OR REPLACE THE LIGHTING SWITCH AS NECESSARY, FREE OF CHARGE. THE ORIGINAL RECALL BEGAN IN APRIL 2012. OWNERS OF VEHICLES INVOLVED IN THE SEPTEMBER 2012 EXPANSION WILL BE NOTIFIED IN SEPTEMBER 2012. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING UNSUCCESSFULLY TO HAVE MY AIR BAGS REPLACED SINCE RECEIVING NOTICE OF THE RECALL. I CALLED THE DEALER WHERE I NORMALLY RECEIVE SERVICE ON MARCH 30, 2015 AND WAS TOLD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND THEY EXPECTED TO HAVE THE PARTS IN WITHIN 30 DAYS. WHEN I DID NOT HEAR FURTHER FROM THE DEALER (LANDMARK HONDA OF ALEXANDRIA,VA), I CALLED AGAIN ON APRIL 27, 2015 AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE TRICKLING IN DUE TO HIGH DEMAND AND THAT THEY WERE CALLING OWNERS AND REPAIRING VEHICLES AS THE PARTS CAME IN. I INQUIRED IF THERE WAS A PROCESS FOR DETERMINING THE ORDER IN WHICH OWNERS WERE BEING CALLED SUCH AS A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED PROCESS OR A WAITING LIST. THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE. I LIVE IN CAMP SPRINGS, MD AND I HAVE A ROAD TRIP PLANNED FOR MINNEAPOLIS, MN WHICH IS SCHEDULED FOR MAY 10 TO MAY 27, 2015. I THOUGHT THAT MY CAR WOULD'VE BEEN SERVICED IN TIME FOR THIS TRIP. CLEARLY, I AM CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND MYSELF. I JUST READ ABOUT THE ONE DAY WORKSHOP WHICH WAS CONVENED ON APRIL 28, 2015 AND I CAN TELL YOU, THAT HONDA IS NOT DOING ENOUGH TO PROVIDE PARTS FOR TIMELY REPAIRS AND TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THEIR OWNERS. *TR

WHILE DRIVING FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA TO NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, THE AC WAS WORKING JUST FINE WHEN A HIGH PITCHED SQUEAL STARTED COMING FROM THE ENGINE. LIFTING MY FOOT OFF THE GAS SEEMED TO HELP AND THE NOISE WENT AWAY, BUT THE NOISE CAME BACK, AND A THUMPING SOUND STARTED TO COME THROUGH AND A SMALL POP HAPPENED, SENDING SOME SORT OF BLACK CANISTER SHOOTING OUT FROM UNDER MY CAR AND ONTO THE FREEWAY. I PULLED OVER AND CHECKED THE CAR FOR DAMAGE, NOT SEEING ANY MAJOR MARKS ON THE ENGINE AND NO LIQUIDS LEAKING FROM THE CAR. ONLY WHEN I REACHED MY DESTINATION AND THE CAR WOULD BLOW BOILING HOT AIR OUT OF THE VENTS DID I NOTICE AND ISSUE. THE DEALER DID AN INSPECTION OF THE CAR, AND TOLD ME THE AC HAD LITERALLY FALLEN OUT OF THE ENGINE BLOCK. WHILE DRIVING HOME TONIGHT, AFTER DARK, BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT AT THE SAME TIME. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO SWITCH THEM TO HIGH BEAM, WHICH WORKED. UPON ARRIVING HOME, SPOKE WITH MY HUSBAND WHO CHECKED AND CONFIRMED THAT BOTH LIGHTS WOULD NOT WORK, BUT NO EVIDENCE THEY HAD BURNT OUT. A CHECK ON THE INTERNED INDICATED THAT NHTSA RECALL # 12V-136 WAS ISSUED. WE HAVE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE NEW AND DO NOT RECALL RECEIVING ANY RECALL NOTICE. A SEARCH OF THIS SIDE BY VIN NUMBER DID NOT SHOW THE RECALL. A SEARCH BY MODEL NUMBER DID. WE WILL CONTACT THE HONDA DEALER AS SOON AS THEY ARE OPEN. *TR

THIS HAS HAPPENED MORE THEN ONCE. I WOULD BE GETTING GAS, AND WHEN THE PUMP CLICKED TO INDICATE THAT IT WAS FULL I WOULD TAKE THE NOZZLE OUT AND THE GAS WOULD COME SPILLING OUT OF THE TANK ALL OVER THE SIDE OF THE CAR AND DOWN THE TIRE. THIS IS VERY CONCERNING TO ME. IM AFFRAID OF A FIRE. I HAVEN'T TAKEN IT TO MY MECHANIC YET. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. I REALLY HOPE HONDA LOOKS INTO THIS. *JS

  24. Tires, Feb 10, 2015

BOUGHT 4 NEW GOODYEAR ASSURANCE FUEL MAX TIRES FOR MY HONDA CR-V IN AUG 2012. RIGHT AFTER BEING PUT ON, NOTICED LITTLE BULGES IN EACH TIRE ON OUTSIDE, BUT THE TIRE COMPANY PERSONNEL CLAIMED IT WAS NORMAL. AFTER MORE TIME, IT NEVER WENT AWAY AND THE TIRES BEGAN GETTING A LARGER BULGE. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THEY SEEMED DEFECTIVE. I TRIED 3 X TO GET THE TIRE STORE TO REPLACE THEM, THEY SAID THEY WERE OK...THEY LOOSE AIR FREQUENTLY, AND MAKE A TERRIBLE THUMPING SOUND WHEN I DRIVE. THESE ARE NOT GOOD TIRES AND I HAVEN'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE MILEAGE WARRANTY ON THESE. I WILL NOW CONTACT GOODYEAR DIRECTLY AFTER READING SOME OF THE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS WITH THESE TIRES. *TR
