Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 CR-V vehicles. The joint weld between the fuel tank and the vapor return line may have been insufficiently welded, causing the weld to fail.

The failed weld may allow fuel to leak, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel tank, free of charge. The recall began September 16, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is A5I.

  8. Air bags, frontal, driver clockspring/spiral cassetteMay 21, 2019

Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2019 CR-V vehicles. The metal core of the steering wheel may have burrs which can damage the harnesses routed within, potentially disabling the driver's air bag or causing it to deploy without warning.

In the event of a crash, a disabled air bag would increase the risk of injury. An uncommanded deployment of the driver's air bag also increases the risk of injury and a crash.

Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a protective cover on the steering wheel core and replace clockspring and the harnesses within, free of charge. The recall began July 8, 2019. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's number for this recall is R4S.

02/23/2022 while driving down interstate sunroof glass suddenly exploded for no known reason. I see this is more common than I first thought. Hope the auto industry will be forced if necessary to make changes to correct the ongoing problem

We pulled into a restraunt on 7/7/24 and as we were parking the car my wife started to put on the brakes. The car accelerated and ran over the curb in front of the car. There was no damage to the car that I could see. She has been driving this car since 2019 with no problem. I thought maybe she stepped on the gas instead but she said no. There were no floor mats on top of the gas pedal so it must be something with the car. I read on the internet of other people having the same problem. I hope we can get this repaired ASAP.

I was driving on [XXX] in Danvers and they grooved the highway for resurfacing. I was doing the speed limit 65mph. When I hit the lip of the road where it returned to normal I heard a sound like something hit my cars glass. I got home and inspected my vehicle and saw no chips or dents. The next night at 5pm I was getting in my car and noticed my moonroof was cracked and damaged. I didn't see anything fly at me . I'm lead to believe when I hit the 2 inch lip my cars body twisted and popped that moonroof. I keep the slider closed or the glass would have rained down on me . I hear they don't use the proper glass on them. The new one says tempered. Just thought I'd share with you INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The infotainment screen starts glitching out on extended trips. It constantly beeps and flashes on the screen as of a button is being pressed. It also will not allow you to turn the system off to remove the distraction. This happened on a trip to Chattanooga in July 2022 and was 'fixed' with a software update. It happened again on [XXX]. Hello I have been so upset with Honda. I’ve owned many Hondas and other cars in my past and never had any problems. I would tell anyone to buy a Honda until now. My daughter has been driving my car and she said it smelled bad and all the lights kept coming on. We took it to a mechanic and at that time they didn’t really see anything wrong with it. My daughter kept driving it and we found out about the recall and called to have that fixed and they said they don’t have the part and they don’t know when they will get it. Well that was upsetting because we felt that was an issue with the car and we didn’t understand why they couldn’t just order the part give us something else to drive until they got it in but no such luck. The last time I talked to Honda in Marion, Ohio they said I didn’t need the part but clearly that is wrong. Well the part I’m the most upset about is my daughter could have died driving down the road and all the lights came on in the vehicle and it would not drive while she’s out in the middle of nowhere scared half to death. We get the vehicle to Honda and they say it’s the fuel injectors. I’m like no one’s fuel injectors go out. Well I look it up and it’s a huge problem for Honda and they just don’t want to pay to have them replaced. It has cost me $2000 and had to get another car to drive and my Honda still isn’t driving very good and still no recall fixed. This is wrong! I am very disappointed in Honda and shocked. What can I do about this situation?

  6. Other or unspecified, Apr 9, 2024

A loud pop like a gunshot went off which was the sound of the Moonroof spontaneously shattering while driving. If this had been open then the shattered glass could have rained down on driver and passengers causing injury and/or wreck due to sharp pieces of glass.

I was driving down a road with no traffic when the sunroof shattered. I pulled over and there was a hole in the middle and it was completely cracked. No damage to any other component of the sunroof just the glass. There was nothing that impacted or fell on the sunroof. There was no prior damage to the sunroof or surrounding area. The sunroof was closed not in use at time of incident. Dealership could not find a reason for the damage but did say they had someone else go in for a sun roof randomly exploding as well.

Multiple codes are showing up while driving. The car has been at a local Honda dealership for over 3 months while waiting on a part associated with an open recall for fuel pump. The dealership cannot determine the root cause of the codes.

Infotainment system failure. Doesn't work for hands free. Phone doesn't connect for GPS or the way it's intended for phone calls, etc.

  11. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Fuel/propulsion system, Nov 26, 2023

After waiting in car, dash board went crazy with all warning lights scrolling. Two dealers refused to take car because the dash stopped. This happened 3 times. Third time, Autozone x2 and Firestone, independent of one another said computer issue and that a code for rich fuel was coming up. On sixth check, mechanic private used code reader after check engine light came on. Dash went berserk twice. They refused to touch vehicle stating it’s electrical. Took it to dealer who kept car for five weeks. ‘Can’t get an active code. We can start with fuel injectors’. ‘Maybe’ that will stop dash board issue. Now, five days after this diagnosis, dealer states that the tech DID find drop in voltage happening intermittently. When I asked why I was not told this originally - he cited mis communication. Car runs great. No repairs done yet as no one knows what to do. 114,000 miles. Highway. I am on several forums and this is not an isolated issue. Help please

  12. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 6, 2023

While driving the SUV and series of warning lights started going off all at the same time. I took the SUV to Honda dealership and they ran diagnostics and said that all SIX fuel injectors needed to be replaced. Said it was a common problem they we seeing in this make and model of SUV. The faulty fuel injectors was causing fuel pressure problems which sets off all the warning lights is how it was explained to me. Due to the widespread problem with the fuel injectors there was a backlog and wait time of 6 months to order new fuel injectors and replace them. I am just outside of the warranty for the SUV and I went through Honda for Goodwill Assistance. Honda said I was a good candidate to receive because of the low mileage. After many weeks they denied my Goodwill Assistance request and Honda stated they only do Recalls when NHTSA requires them to do a Recall. Please look into faulty fuel injectors because when all the warning lights come on then I loose some of the safety features that come with this SUV. I will be more than willing to provide any other information to prove there's a known and widespread problem with this SUV's fuel injectors. I respectfully request it's investigated and Honda is required to do a Recall. Thank you. There are 11 warning lights that come on, I have provided pictures of a few but listed here are all of them: Electric Parking Brake Problem, Tire Pressure Monitor Problem, Emissions System Problem, Brake System Problem, Brake Hold System Problem, Power Steering System (EPS) Problem, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA) Problem, Hill Start Assist Problem, Adaptive Cruise Control Problem, Collision Mitigation System Problem, Road Departure Mitigation System Problem.

Crv 2019, 37000 miles odometer. Battery and starter cable replaced but then later all dash board ligth are ON an d break ligths blinking. Honda said it’s the fuel injectors and released it says it’s ok to drive.

    1. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Air condition system. 2. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? I hear metal particles sound inside the AC system under the hood once the car is stopped, which I assume may cause the combustible r1234yf refrigerant to set on fire, particularly in states like Texas and Arizona. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Dealer asking me to change the leaking hoses and independent service center asking me to change the compressor but no one tries to resolve the primary issue. Already spent nearly $500 to diagnose it, so tired of spending anymore money on that. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? Not yet, I'm registering it here first. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning but it all started after the refrigerant was empty.

  15. Other or unspecified, Apr 22, 2023

The sunroof exploded while driving on the highway. I was traveling about 60-65 miles per hour. Luckily the slide was closed otherwise glass would have showered down upon the driver and passenger. I took the vehicle into the dealership. They inspected and sent the quote to my insurance claims adjuster so payment could be issued for the repairs. There was no warning signs or messages prior to it exploding.

Ac not working compressor or condenser not working after only 39 months

  17. Other or unspecified, Mar 29, 2023

While driving onto a highway, 55 degrees and partly sunny out, approaching the on ramp to 95, we heard a loud POP like a gunshot out of no where and then we were covered in shattered glass from the sunroof. Glass everywhere, all over the driver, passenger and 3 children in the back seat. No other vehicles, trucks or over pass near by and nothing hit the car. After making it home with a tarp on the car, I brought it to the local Honda dealership. Honda does not see this as an issue with their sunroof and will not cover the glass or the cost. They said this never happens and it would not just “shatter” by itself.

  18. Other or unspecified, Mar 24, 2023

The power to the car can be turned off while the transmission is in drive. I believe that the power button should only work when the car is in park. When the car was pulled into a driveway and still in drive, the car was turned off accidentally without shifting to park. The driveway is on a slight decline so after the car was left on its own it started rolling down the incline into the street. I have not reported this to a dealer as I wasn't sure where to report it.

2019 Honda CR-V, The Info-Tainment panel for the Radio, A/C, etc, goes dark randomly and returns randomly. There is no pattern, sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The rear camera is also affected if the car is in reverse. Have had the car about 4 years and started doing this two weeks ago. Thank you.

  20. Other or unspecified, Feb 10, 2023

Oil dilution problem with fuel. This is a known issue with the 2019 Honda CRV. I bought the vehicle new in August 2019 and had to change the oil 8 months later because the oil level had risen well above the maximum mark on the dipstick due to fuel contamination. I currently (2/10/2023) have to change my oil 3 times per year so that it doesn't get to diluted so as to cause excessive engine wear. I drive less than 12,000 miles/year.

  21. Other or unspecified, Oct 15, 2022

The display audio screen dims and brightens by itself and starts changing screens, channels, and beeping obsessively. This is very distractive to the driver and pushing buttons on the screen to try and make it stop does nothing and could very easily cause a wreck from the distraction of the unit beeping, changing channels, randomly calling people and flipping screens. Honda acknowledges this issue in Service Bulletin 19-066 which I don't think owners should have to pay to have fixed and should be a recall.

  22. Other or unspecified, Oct 8, 2022

Sunroof shattered while driving on highway. Nothing hit it. It just shattered

  23. Other or unspecified, Sep 12, 2022

My sunroof exploded as I was driving down the highway yesterday evening. It was sunny, and I was not driving under an overpass, and there were no vehicles near me. I did not see an object hit nor was there anything on the roof or in the hole. Just lots of shattered glass.

  24. Other or unspecified, Sep 4, 2022

I was opening the hatch to my CRV, and it just slammed shut. The hatch strut started leaking fluid, and it almost slam down on my head which would’ve been a pretty serious injury had it hit me. My vehicles only three years old and I don’t even use my hatch that often so I believe that it is gone bad

  25. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Aug 24, 2022

For the 4th time in a year and a half, my CR-V has failed to start. I've had it in for dealership servicing twice on this issue and even replaced the battery at their recommendation. It did not fix the problem and they have since told me that they can't identify the problem and said it could be with the computer system (I did purchase an additional warranty for the computer system). In addition to the car failing to start and needing a jump start, the dashboard will start beeping and go blank, or flash a warning message that does not fit the situation. I consider this situation to be a safety issue as it leaves me without a reliable car for travel due to the uncertainty of being able to start the car. The latest episode was today and it was 88 degrees out and I had my 91 yr old father and my dog with me. Waiting for assistance in the heat was very hard on them. My father felt sick due to the long exposure to heat.
