Representative owner complaints: lane departure

138 reports, newest first. Show all

  1. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, May 1, 2026

The camera for these sensors has gone out and it appears to be an extremely common issue. It makes all safety features un-usable.

  2. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Apr 30, 2026

When I turned on the ignition to drive the vehicle, multiple warning lights came on to include failure of lane keeping assistance, forward collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and automatic emergency braking. Additionally, after acknowledging these lights, the "brake system" light remained on in the amber color. If these safety features are not working properly, it can put the occupants of my vehicle as well as others at risk.

  3. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Apr 22, 2026

monocular camera code set and several dash messages - failure of ACC, FCW, LKA

  4. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Apr 20, 2026

Paid $210 for Honda to run a diagnostic to tell me my multi purpose camera has a failure. This has caused 11 error lights to be displayed.

  5. Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Apr 11, 2026

In May 2025, the front-facing windshield-mounted monocular multi-purpose camera unit abruptly failed in our 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite. The vehicle had ~53,000 miles on the odometer at the time. This resulted in essentially all of the warning lights showing/cycling on the dashboard display and total failure of the safety features dependent on this camera system (adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency, lane departure warning, lane keeping assistance, etc). The unit had to be completely replaced and calibrated by my local Honda dealer.

  6. Electrical system, Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Mar 8, 2026

Upon further investigation, LOTS of 2018 Honda Odysseys are experiencing the same problem I am. There is a leak coming in from the top of the van in the rear that causes water to leak through and overtime damages the control unit in the back. Damage to this causes my power lift gate to completely stop working, my passenger drive door to stop working, and a bunch of features like the front collision warning, the lane departure, sensors, fog lights, so on to fail and go on and off. I had problems here and there with it but it wasn’t until it rained 4 days straight that I made the connection with the leak and started trying to figure out the problem. I took it to the Honda Dealership to get diagnosed and they confirmed this problem. We have not been in any accidents to cause body damage to the vehicle.

  7. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Mar 4, 2026

The Camera module failed in our van and gave us a U3000-49 code which caused the vehicle to lose Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) functions on the vehicle with a cost to fix from Honda of $ 2,475.56.

  8. Power train, Lane departure, Feb 17, 2026

Bought vehicle new at Millennium Honda, Hempstead New York.Vehicle is not going into reverse when vehicle gets hot. My mileage is 40,512 took it Millennium Honda on October 4, 2025, for diagnostic testing error code P0736 was diagnosed and that my transmission would need’s replacing at a cost of $11,495 for parts and labor, because I was a couple months out of warranty. I have since reached out to Corporate but negative response. I am unable to use my vehicle since which have been at an additional expense to me as I have to maintain insurance and pay for bus, train and taxi services. Not sure what kind of assistance you can offer or even assist in investigating why a vehicle with 40,000 would need a new transmission after moderate use. Thanks for your consideration on this matter.

  9. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Feb 1, 2026

Front camera is known to go out on these vans causing ACC, LKAS, Collision mitigation, road departure mitigation system, auto high beam, transmission problems and more.

  10. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Jan 17, 2026

We turned the car on and got an ACC, LKAS, FCS, AHL errors due to the front sensor and the camera failing. This is an issue that many Honda owners are dealing with. The issue will not allow you to use cruise control and will disable 90% of the safety features we bought this vehicle for. The car drives fine but the safety of those in the car is affected by this error and needs to be recalled due to the number of complaints of this issue. There were no errors or warning signs prior to this happening.

  11. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Jan 17, 2026

Multiple warnings on dashboard due to windshield camera malfunction. Many vehicles of the same model have this problem. This is a part defect and should be recalled. Thank you

  12. Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Dec 18, 2025

Camera projector fail and 6 warning ️ lights came on, very common issue.

  13. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Dec 16, 2025

Camera/Honda Sensing failure (U3000-49 code), causing loss of safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, collision mitigation

  14. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Dec 14, 2025

The front-facing camera responsible for detecting surrounding traffic is malfunctioning, which in turn compromises several critical safety systems. These include adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, and lane departure warning. All of these features depend on the proper functioning of this camera. The vehicle has never been involved in a collision, and the camera was neither abused nor damaged. The failure occurred suddenly and without warning, triggering multiple warning lights on the dashboard. While the vehicle remains operable, all Advanced Driver Assistance Systems are currently disabled. It is my contention that Honda has engineered a defective camera system that requires a substantial out-of-pocket expense for vehicle owners to repair. I believe this cost should be borne by Honda, not the consumer. Accordingly, I am requesting that the NHTSA investigate this issue and require Honda to implement a recall that permanently addresses the problem.

  15. Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Nov 20, 2025

Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems stopped working simultaneously without warning. Upon further investigation, failure of the forward-facing camera is the likely root cause. Based on conversations in internet discussion forums [XXX] , [XXX] ), this is a common failure. There was a recall for the Odyssey to fix a wiring harness issue that could affect the back-up camera. I believe loss of the Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, and Lane Departure Warning systems is much more serious, with potentially catastrophic consequences. Since evidence suggests failure of the forward-facing camera happens frequently, I believe this issue should be treated with the same gravity as the back-up camera and a recall should be issued. 16. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Nov 9, 2025

It seems the front dash camera failed to operate which caused all safety systems that rely on it to fail

  17. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Nov 4, 2025, crash

I have 6 error lights on my dash board. Road departure mitigation system problem, auto high-beam problem, collision mitigation system problem, lane keeping assist problem, Ada pat I’ve cruise control problem. My car was rear ended from an insured from Utica National insurance group. After my car was rear ended these error message came up. They fixed the car but refused to fix to have the lights removed because they said that these error lights do not come on after a rear end accident.

  18. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Oct 23, 2025

All the systems are not working This is a very low mileage vehicle and has not been involved in any accidents. They are many owners reporting the same issue. This is a safety issue as it shuts off many of the safety features of this vehicle while driving. Honda claims it’s normal.

  19. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Oct 23, 2025

One light on dashboard lit up, started as "Blind Spot info system problem", light would go on and off for couple of years. Now every light on dashboard lights up, including lane assist, blind spot infor system problem, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control problem, rear cross traffic warning, lane departure warning.

  20. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Oct 9, 2025

The windshield monocular camera is completely non functional causing several dashboard errors to appear. It very disheartening as this is such a known issue within the Honda Odyssey community and very expensive to replace and get calibrated after replacement. This should be recalled since so many are having this issue. Clearly this is a fault of Honda. It seems that the camera can get too hot being in the windshield and just doesn't work. A big reason why I wanted this vehicle was because of these sensors. Now I can't use them.

  21. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Oct 9, 2025

Several of my warning lights came on related to safety features such as brake assist, lane assist, collision mitigation. brake warning. The source has been identified as a failure with the multipurpose camera unit.
