Honda has a recall notice to repair the rear camera. We took the car in to get the recall service. The camera stopped working. Honda told us the diagnostic to determine what wasn't working on the camera would cost hundreds of dollars. This was recall service that disabled the camera. We should not be charged and they have messed up our car system.

While driving multiple system failure- warning lights then failure of: blind spot alert, lane departure, back up camera, wipers, tailgate function. When able to stop, power locks did not function. Inability to access rear of car via sliding doors would pose serious risk if accident occurred due to system failure. Prior to all systems alert, tailgate warning light had been intermittently appearing for a few days. Dealer service center noted water leak from unsealed section between window and frame in back driver side panel that corroded body console module.

2018 Honda Odyssey - 120,738 miles at time of occurrence Premature failure of the monocular camera (Honda Part Number 36160-THR-A04). This impacted Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Breaking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assistance and automatic high beams. This part failed very suddenly when I was on a major highway. No warning lamps prior to failure We kept the part for inspection. The problem was confirmed by a Honda dealer and the part was replaced at my expense ($1,335.88). Reported to American Honda who told me this was no longer under warranty. When i tried to find the part myself, it was on a long back order and I was told by many other dealers that this is a common failure

Blindspot monitoring, emissions system problem, transmission system problem all come on at the same time when vehicle is motion. Unable to manually shift if needed. A lot of vans had recall, however ours is not on the recall list, but we highly believe it should be due to safety concerns due to transmission failure.
Steering, Service brakes, Lane departure, Feb 1, 2023
ALL the warning lights came on, including brakes, power steering, lane keeping assistance, lane departure warning, and others, indicating the car should be stopped immediately regardless of traffic or conditions. I do not know if the functions were also impaired or if was simply false alarms. I understand this is typical of this auromobile.

Own a 2018 Honda Odyssey Touring w/10 Speed Transmission just outside the powertrain warranty. The current Mileage is 115,863 miles. On 1/2/2023, while my wife was driving, she experienced severe jerking and gears slipping in Drive. The car continued to drive, but there was hesitation in gearing. The following day (1/3/2023), hesitation rapidly turned into the complete failure of the van to go into reverse. The car would not engage reverse, started blinking R, and was freewheeling like it was in neutral. Suddenly, the dash indicated transmission system failure + blind spot warning failure. All modes, Drive, Sport, Neutral, and Reverse, were flashing. Wife was able to get the van home, and I immediately took it to the dealership. The following morning, 1/4/2023 (today as of this writing), the dealership notified me the tech observed what he called “a death code,” indicating the transmission must be replaced. $11,000 repair is underway as of this writing. The problem is exactly similar to this reported and others in Odyssey Consumer Forums. It appears to be a Transmission Manufacturing Defect by Honda Car. Answers to questions: 1) Component Malfunction is Transmission System - and ADAS/Blind Spot. 2) Car was slipping and jerking on the motorway in the middle of high-speed traffic and trucks, endangering our safety. 3) Problem was reproduced 100% of the time personally and by the dealership personnel. 4) The dealer indicated a “death code” and that the transmission must be replaced. 5) Transmission system failure + blind spot warning failure, all modes, Drive, Sport, Neutral, and Reverse, were flashing the letter associated with the gear/mode selected.

While attempting to cross a road the vehicle suddenly stopped accelerating. This happened after entering the roadway with heavy traffic and my family in the vehicle, I pressed the accelerator pedal all the way down nothing. Then after a brief 5sec of fear the vehicle jerks into gear making everyone slam back into their seats. This has been reported by many owners on various forums, some of which were in accidents. This will not end well for a few drivers and their families. Honda technicians try and diagnosing this with no luck, said” I’ve never seen this issue, 64K miles great condition no damages to the transmission core unfortunately we are 4K miles over warranty!? At here is a recall for very similar issues same VF 9 speed transmission but my vin didn’t fall under the recall, American Honda said they weren’t going to help because I didn’t have “customer loyalty” I’m asking the technician to dissemble the transmission and take a bunch of pictures to try and help explain how this happened and how to avoid this from happening again because next time we may not be so luck.

Own a 2018 Honda Odyssey Elite w/10 Speed Transmission that is still under powertrain warranty. Current Mileage is approx 51,400 miles. On 06/23 while driving on I-680 south bound driving my kids to school - experienced severe jerking and gears slipping in Drive. Car continued to drive, but there was hesitation in gearing. As a precaution decided to pull over and stopped the vehicle in Milpitas, CA. On restart the car was completely stalled, The car would not engage in "Reverse" gear and on pressing accelerator it seemed like it was in Neutral. All modes, Drive, Sport, Neutral and Reverse were flashing and got a warning in the dashboard saying "Transmission System Problem/Blind Spot Info System Problem". Also see this thread. https://www.odyclub.com/threads/2020-ex-l-10-speed-transmission-failure-at-11k-miles.358491/ - Problem exactly similar to this reported and others in Odyssey Consumer Forums. Answers to questions: 1) Component Malfunction is Transmission System - and ADAS/Blind Spot 2) Car was slipping and jerking on the Highway 680S in the middle of high speed traffic and trucks endangering our safety. Car completely stalled and was not drivable after pull over. 3) Problem reproduced 100% of the time on 06/23. Towed the car to nearby Honda Delaer. Anytime the temperature is below freezing (32F), the infotainment system fails to boot. This prevents us from properly defrosting windows for visibility, or using the rear-view camera while backing, or accessing many of the other features of the vehicle that are controlled by the infotainment unit. The lack of a rear-view camera is especially concerning on a van with otherwise poor rearward visibility through mirrors. Many people have car seats in their mini-van which further obstructs rearward visibility without the camera. We have visited the dealer numerous times for a fix for this issue, and there either is none, or Honda's dealers arent interested in fixing it. Essentially, we are without most of the vehicles advanced features whenever it is cold outside.

DRIVING ON I26 TRAVELING EAST INTO CHARLESTON, SC IN SECOND FROM THE LEFT LANE, DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH DURING BUSY RUSH HOUR. SUDDENLY, A LARGE SUV IN THE NEXT LANE TO MY LEFT VEERED INTO MY LANE. I TURNED THE WHEEL SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID A COLLISION, ALSO SIMILTANEOUSLY BRAKING JUST ENOUGH TO AVOID A COLLISION. I HAD MOVED APPROXIMATELY 1/2 A LANE TO THE RIGHT. I TURNED THE WHEEL TO THE LEFT TO COME BACK INTO MY LANE. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY BEGAN VEERING TO THE RIGHT AND LEFT AS I WAS FIGHTING TO KEEP IT UNDER CONTROL. IN THE NEXT 10-15 SECONDS, THE VAN VEERED ALTERNATIVELY RIGHT AND LEFT ABOUT 5 TIMES EACH UNTIL IT STABILIZED. I WAS USING ALL OF MY STRENGTH TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM TAKING OFF ACROSS LANES OF TRAFFIC. I CALLED HONDA NORTH AMERICA AND WAS ESSENTIALLY DISMISSED AS I WAS TOLD TO JUST TURN OFF MY LANE MITIGATION SYSTEM, WITH NO EXPLANATION OR APPARANT CARE ABOUT WHAT I HAD GONE THROUGH. I WENT TO MY LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. THE SERVICE MANAGER WAS CONCERNED AND TOLD ME HE WOULD GET BACK TO ME. THAT WAS OVER A MONTH AGO AND I HAVE RECEIVED NO INFORMATION FROM THEM. I DO NOT KNOW IF THIS PROBLEM WILL REPEAT ITSELF, OR IF IT HAS EVER BEEN REPORTED. I AM QUITE CONCERNED BECAUSE THIS SITUATION COULD HAVE CAUSED A DEVASTATION INJURY OR FATILITY TO MY FAMILY AND OTHERS.
