Cannot re-start the car, cannot open the rear doors, cannot turn on the emergency light to warn other cars. After waiting for a a few minutes, the power is back, I can start my car again When my car totally loss power at 8:30pm and cannot turn on the emergency light at night, and cannot open the rear doors for kids getting out the car. It is very dangerous to the passengers.

  2. Visibility/wiper, Feb 18, 2026

The sunroof exploded, causing the glass to shatter, while driving. The vehicle is available for inspection. The noise from the glass shattering caused ear pain, headache, and tinnitus, which has been evaluated by a doctor. State Farm insurance has aided in the situation. The vehicle is in the body shop for repairs. The sunroof indicated no warning prior to the shattering of the glass.

  3. Air bags, Jan 20, 2026

All passenger side curtain airbags deployed after going over a pothole, despite no tire/wheel/frame damage to the car according to the Honda dealership. No collision occurred, only going over a pothole. SRS is available for review from dealership. Vehicle has been inspected by dealership and insurance representative. No warning lamps or messages prior to the failure, only after going over the pothole did the car announce 'collision detected' and immediately called Honda roadside assist representative.

  4. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 19, 2025

Engine turns off by itself at stop. Auto idle stop was not turned on. It also happened when i pressed the reverse button. When it turns off by itself, i have to turn it back on and put it back into gear. It happened 4 times today

  5. Other or unspecified, Dec 8, 2025

The glass sunroof exploded on our 2022 Honda Odyssey. No prior issues, dents, etc., serviced consistently by the local dealership. While driving on the highway an explosion sound occurred overhead. No overpasses were nearby, nor were any projectiles witnessed. Thankfully, the interior sunroof shade was completely closed, preventing the thousands of pieces of broken glass from falling into the vehicle. Thankfully, we were also able to avoid an accident in the moment. Talked to local dealership and Honda Americas. Both simply said I was out of warranty, even though this is a massive safety failure. A simple google search will show this is a known issue across Honda Odyssey sunroofs, Honda CRV back windshields and Honda HRV back windshields. All of these cars should be recalled.

  6. Electrical system, Engine, Nov 29, 2025

The idle start stop feature constantly doesn’t work on our 2022 Honda Odyssey Touring. When stopped at a light or stop sign the engine will turn off COMPLETELY, causing me to have to put the car in park and restart the car. Also, sometimes the van will start, sometimes it won't. I replaced the battery and now it starts but it is still turning itself off in traffic. There have been several incidents where this is during rush hour traffic causing traffic jams and we have been very close to being rear ended. Sometimes I have to wait a few minutes before it will actually turn over. This is EXTREMELY unsafe and should be addressed by Honda with a FREE fix for all owners. I've taken it to the dealership and, after scanning my VIN, told that my specific Odyssey doesn't have any open recalls or service bulletins... Seems every other Odyssey does, just not mine? For the EXACT SAME PROBLEM???

  7. Electrical system, Nov 18, 2025

The liftgate on my vehicle stopped functioning in March 2024, one month after the warranty expired. On June 24, 2025, the vehicle underwent a power tailgate unit replacement and water leak repair at Ocean Honda of Brockton. Water had leaked into the tailgate unit and caused it to short out. The total cost for this repair was $1,776.18. I have attached a copy of the paid service repair summary and proof of payment. My primary concern, beyond the financial burden, is the inherent safety risk posed by this malfunction. As a parent of three children, we specifically chose the Honda Odyssey for its reputation for safety and reliability as a family vehicle. A power tailgate unit that can fail due to water infiltration presents a serious hazard, as it could cause the tailgate to unexpectedly open while the vehicle is in motion. This could lead to items falling out onto the road, creating a dangerous road hazard for other drivers, or potentially compromising the safety of passengers if the vehicle is involved in an accident. Right before the tailgate stopped working, we noticed a "low battery" warning upon starting the van. This is probably due to the electrical short. I sent a letter to American Honda Motor Company on July 2, 2025, detailing the issue, but have yet to hear a response.

  8. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Nov 9, 2025

On October 31, 2025, I brought my vehicle to the dealer for several issues, including an Auto Engine Idle Stop System problem, a memory seat malfunction, and other concerns that were discussed with the service advisor and are listed in the invoice. I was charged almost $1,000, including a new battery. Initially, some of the problems appeared to be resolved, but shortly after the service, the Auto Engine Idle Stop System problem reappeared, and the memory seat stopped working again. Even more concerning, a new and dangerous issue began immediately after the repair: while driving at night, the headlights suddenly turn off for a few seconds and then turn back on, and the “Auto Engine Idle Stop System Problem” warning appears at the same time. This issue never occurred before the dealer performed the repair. This situation is extremely unsafe, especially when driving in dark conditions with my family. I contacted the dealership through their “Contact Us” form on November 2, 2025, and again via live chat on November 5, 2025. I was told that someone would reach out to me, but as of November 9, 2025, I have received no response.

  9. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Oct 31, 2025

The Honda High Pressure Fuel Pump Recall is an ongoing and critical safety campaign impacting numerous Honda and Acura models primarily from the 2017-2022 model years. The defective fuel pump component can fail unexpectedly, causing sudden loss of engine power while driving, significantly increasing the risk of a crash or fire. I am the manager and co-owner in an automotive mechanic workshop in Miami, and in the last year several Honda Odyssey have arrived at my workshop with this problem with the high-pressure fuel pump. All of these cars were manufactured in 2022 and 2023. Symptoms begin after accumulating more than 80,000 miles traveled. The main symptoms are: Problems and delay when starting, loss of power, vibration, noise and tapping of the fuel lines at the inlet of the engine. This vibration and noise are felt much louder from inside the cabin, because the fuel lines are attached to the fire wall of the engine compartment. High fuel consumption, reducing the autonomy of the vehicle up to about 12 to 14 miles per gallon, when the Odyssey has a proven autonomy between 19 and 21 miles per gallon under normal conditions. Strong smell of fuel. The vibration increases by increasing the revolutions per minute of the engine, causing the connections of the fuel lines to suffer deterioration, cracking and loss of pressure, causing fuel leaks that could be the main cause of fire of the engine and the vehicle, in turn putting the life of the driver and his occupants at risk. For a few weeks I wanted to submit this request for extension of Recall to Honda for the Odyssey models of the years 2022 and 2023 through the NHTSA. But it was not until today that I decided to do it because I also own a 2022 Honda Odyssey EX-L with more than 90,000 accumulated miles, just 2 weeks ago my vehicle began to present all these symptoms mentioned above.

  10. Forward collision avoidance, Sep 23, 2025

I was at a 4 way stop on a quiet street, I stopped and then proceeded to move forward. As I was moving forward, in the middle of the intersection, the automatic emergency braking system activated which slammed on my brakes, involuntarily, in the middle of the intersection. There were no hazards in front of me that the vehicle would have detected as being a cause for braking. Thankfully, no one was coming through the intersection at the time from the perpendicular sides or else I would have been hit. The braking was so forceful that it caused my phone, that was sitting in my lap to be flung to the floor and was ripped from the charging cord with force. Additionally, to show the force, I had books sitting on the passenger seat that all got thrown to the floor with the impact of the braking system.

  11. Electrical system, Engine, Sep 16, 2025

Engine Auto Start/Stop vehicle failed to restart upon taking foot off of brake pedal. Took my car to Honda dealership on 8/29, dealership said it was a bad battery. Had the battery replaced and 2 weeks later on 9/12 vehicle failed to restart upon taking foot off of brake pedal.

  12. Seat belts, Sep 10, 2025

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the front driver’s side seat belt buckle unexpectedly unlatched. The failure had occurred on several occasions. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 50,000.

  13. Electrical system, Back over prevention, Sep 7, 2025

This vehicle had the recall repaired for the Most Bus cable issue that Honda has. Now they vehicle is back having the same issue and Honda has not done another recall for the issue starting again for the same thing this is a safety issue. You lose all rear warnings cameras and detection. Honda will not repair the recalled issue again. They have not properly fixed it.

  14. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Aug 29, 2025

It was the same thing as my last three reports. The vehicle stalls in a way that freezes the vehicle where I cannot turn it off or on or engage or remove the parking brake. I cannot put it in gear or in neutral. Last time it stalled me in the middle of a seven lane highway. This time it was in the middle of a hospital entrance. I feel like I am gambling with my life and the dealership won’t listen to me! How many times does this have to happen??

  15. Electrical system, Aug 7, 2025

While stopped at a red light with brake engaged but not fully pushed down, the engine remained running while auto start/stop feature was still on. This was not the problem. Suddenly, all electric shut off including the engine. We fully engaged the brake and restarted the vehicle. This vehicle has also given low battery warnings right after engine is turned off but stereo etc remain on before the driver door is opened. The battery is less than a year old. Vehicle is available for inspection, traffic safety was a concern, we have not taken it to a dealer yet, and no one has inspected this yet.

  16. Electrical system, Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 30, 2025

My car unexpectedly did a phantom brake at high 60+ mph with no car in front of me. I was so nervous due to car behind me almost colliding into me.

  17. Structure, Jul 23, 2025

Honda has issued a Service Bulletin (SERVICE BULLETIN 22-018 [XXX] ) for the issue stating that "After powering open, the tailgate either slowly sags down or the power tailgate control unit sounds a warning tone before powering the tailgate closed" This is a danger as the liftgate closes aggressively and anyone standing under it can be hit in the head and severely injured. The force required to reverse the closure is significant and requires active attention. If one had opened the liftgate and started removing items from the trunk, as has happened to both my wife and myself, the liftgate can hit very hard. If a child is there the risk is significant. This has happened to us multiple times. This should not be a mere service bulletin which requires out of pocket cost to the consumer, but an active recall for repair INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  18. Electrical system, Jul 18, 2025

The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while attempting to start the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The contact used a portable jumpstart kit to jumpstart the vehicle. The contact stated that the failure had occurred on several occasions. The contact stated that the low battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that battery was drained due to the electrical system. The battery was replaced, and the vehicle was repaired. The manufacture was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

  19. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 18, 2025

There have been several instances where the vehicle’s “Idle-Stop” feature failed to restart the vehicle resulting in a stall. This has happened in heavy traffic including once in the middle of a busy intersection while waiting to make a left turn. My vehicle has not been inspected by the dealer, but this is a known issue with an open investigation.

  20. Structure, Jul 14, 2025

The tail gate automatically closes on us due to failed strut to support it. This is a repeatable process. When open the tail gate, it will closes automatically - very dangerous when the user (me) is trying to put stuffs in or out of the trunk. It closes on my head a few times. Went to dealership, they said this is a common issue where the strut holding up the tailgate failed and had to be replaced. It is currently not under recall, so I must pay fully for it to be safe.

  21. Other or unspecified, Jul 2, 2025

    The moonroof spontaneously shattered

  22. Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 1, 2025

Adaptive cruise control unexpectedly disengages. This has happened dozens of times, consistently every time I use the adaptive cruise control on the highway. My speed drops from the set speed (for example, 75 mph) down to 55 or 60 mph, at which point I realize it’s not going to come back on. This is extremely dangerous on the highway, and puts me at risk of being rear-ended by vehicles traveling at high speed.

  23. Forward collision avoidance, Jun 19, 2025

All ADAS systems have failed including the ABS. The safety camera has failed.

  24. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jun 18, 2025

Bought our 2022 Honda Odyssey in November of 2021. Vehicle has the Idle/Stop feature. That feature never worked properly. Always said, warming up or charging and didn't work. Recently, June 7, 2025 my wife driving was at the light with the stop feature activated, she took her foot off the brake for it to start up and it was shifting weird. Happened several times. On June 11, 2025, I was at a light and when I let my foot of the brake for the feature to start the vehicle, the vehicle stalled and I couldn't get it in gear. Eventually it went in gear. I could've gotten into an accident. I called the dealership on June 11, 2025 to make an appointment. After seeing something else on the news about a recall, I decided to look up my issue. I found that there is an investigation and lawsuits about it. I had no idea. I had no idea a letter was sent to owners. I NEVER received it!! I looked at my service records and on February 15, 2024, at an oil change, the dealership fixed a recall per Honda for Auto Start and says UPDATED. My vehicle is still having issues.

  25. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, May 1, 2025, crash

Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2022 Honda Odyssey Date of Incident: 5-1-25 Mileage at Incident: 30,000 Summary of Incident: While my 2022 Honda Odyssey was fully stopped in traffic with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, the vehicle unexpectedly lurched forward and struck the car in front of me. Just before or during the lurch, the brake system warning light appeared on the dashboard. I did not have my foot on the accelerator at any time. The road was flat and weather conditions were normal. The Idle Stop system has not been functioning for several months, so the vehicle was operating in normal engine-on mode. Despite this, the car surged forward from a full stop, indicating a possible failure in the brake system, electronic throttle control, or a software/ECU malfunction. This was a dangerous, uncommanded movement of the vehicle while stopped, which resulted in a minor collision. Thankfully, no one was injured, but this poses a serious safety hazard, especially if it were to occur in crosswalks or at intersections. I will report the issue to Honda the dealership and requested a full diagnostic inspection. I am submitting this complaint because this incident could have caused serious injury or worse and may be part of a broader defect affecting brake or throttle systems on this model.
