The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Air bags that deploy unintentionally during a crash increase the risk of injury.

Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Representative owner complaints: service brakes

6 reports, newest first. Show all

  1. Service brakes, Sep 24, 2026

We recently moved from [XXX] to [XXX]. The first time driving down a mountain the vehicle violently shook when applying the brakes to keep the speed under control. Upon taking it to a Honda service location, the technician revealed hot spots on both front brake rotors. The van has only 21319 miles, and the rotors needed to be replaced with new rotors to make the vehicle safe. The service representative refused to file a warranty claim with Honda because he said “rotors are a wear-and-tear item.” The warranty states bumper-to-bumper coverage for 3 years, or 36000 miles, but does not cover normal wear-and-tear. These hot spots were not normal wear-and-tear. Nonetheless, the representative refused to file a warranty claim unless I was willing to leave the car at their shop for 48 hours or more while they wait for a response, and emphasized that “I’ve never seen Honda accept this claim.” Upon further review of the brake specs, it seems that Honda uses cast-iron OEM rotors which may not be suitable for normal wear-and-tear for a 6000 lb vehicle. To make matters worse, the new OEM brakes are only warrantied for 12 months/12000 miles whereas a non-Honda service station would have installed a heavy-duty brake for less cost and also warrantied it for 3 years/36000 miles. 2. Power train, Service brakes, Engine, Dec 28, 2025

I have had multiple issues with the radio (16000 miles). After many personal videos dealership was able to fix one of this issues with a new part (22000 miles). I was informed the other issues I was having with the radio was due to my battery not staying fully charged. I was also having issues with the van not starting right away, which made me feel I could get stranded. It took many attempts to get the van to start. The van also wouldn't let me reverse one time, with a message telling me to place van in park. Another issue is the van is very slow to restart from auto idle shut off. The transmission is slow to change gears in lower gears and the van jerks a little bit. Next my rotors were warped. I was informed by the dealership that there was nothing wrong with my transmission and the auto idle down was working properly. NO one could explain the rotors being warped. They reshaped my rotors and replaced the battery and told me they hoped that fixed the problem. Well indeed it did not fix the problem. As of 12/27/25 the van completely shut off at a stop sign and again on 12/28/25. The issue is only getting worse (24,000 miles) and now I am scared to death that the van will stop while i am driving. The dealership has been contacted and I am waiting on a call back for a loaner car. I was in traffic and was extremely worried about my safety, as well, the safety of others around me and with me. ( Side note I returned the van to another dealership soon after the first dealership performed work on the van, when I heard a metal on metal sound and what sounded like a bolt rolling around in my back brakes. They did not find anything wrong but were also puzzled by the rotors already being warped. I was afraid to make the trip to the orig dealership). I have recently gotten a video of the brakes scraping again. This van is causing a lot of safety issues for my family.

  3. Service brakes, Apr 24, 2025

The contact owns a 2024 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the brake pedal was inadvertently applied without driver input. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several dealers however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 2,997.

  4. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Apr 10, 2025

I was driving my vehicle and accelerating. My vehicle suddenly braked with no warning while I was driving. I hit my left side of my head as I was not expecting this to happen. I was nearly rear-ended/nearly caused a multi car accident. It was incredibly scary to have the CMBS go off for absolutely no reason. There was no car ahead of me or other reason for it to happen.

  5. Steering, Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Dec 18, 2024

Vehicle start up diagnostics show multiple failures, including ABS, e-steering, emergency braking, adaptive speed control. Dealership found a problem with the right rear ABS sensor. The sensor wire harness was severed. The harness showed damage in multiple places (see photos). Besides being severed, it showed another deep cut and a place where the outer plastic sheath was cut away. The loss of ABS sensor made the vehicle exhibit poor handling including braking. The vehicle has only 4000 miles and is in pristine condition with no damage.

  6. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 13, 2024

This car continues to slam on the automatic brakes when there is no obstruction. There is no car in front of me today. It almost caused a major accident.
