  1. Seat belts, Nov 27, 2025

In TWO separate occasions, the middle row seatbelts have unbuckled on THEIR OWN. We have also had issues with the buckles NOT buckling OR unbuckling when prompted. (Like it’s stuck in the buckle to unbuckle or won’t click in) Other issue is the car will randomly tell me my child is unbuckled but they are NOT. Today, the sensor went on and off multiple times telling me buckled, unbuckled, over and over meanwhile my child was buckled. Why is it telling me she’s not buckled if she is….??? And why has the belts unbuckled on their own? (The first time it was my toddler in his car seat who CANNOT reach the buckle)

  2. Other or unspecified, Visibility/wiper, Nov 22, 2025

Something is wrong with the front windshield. Since I bought this SUV the last year, I've noticed that the wipers are very noisy and the windshield gets dirty very frequently. The last week, the windshield cracked for no apparent reason. I called the dealer and their response was that it's not covered by the warranty and I have to claim it from my car insurance. They also have no explanation for the wiper problem and the stains that appear on the windshield.

  3. Service brakes, Hydraulic, Electrical system, Nov 19, 2025

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. In addition, the contact stated that the Auto START/STOP feature was activated, and the vehicle stopped. The contact stated that the failure occurred while parking the vehicle in the driveway. The Auto START/STOP feature was activated before the vehicle crashed into the garage door. The contact stated that the failure had occurred twice. The contact stated that the second failure occurred while driving approximately 35 MPH, and the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed to the floorboard and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 9,500.

  4. Other or unspecified, Nov 18, 2025

The turn signal is hidden by steering wheel. I always keep lights on auto.when using to turn left My fingers turns the switch from auto lights to off position and always think it's on auto. Two times while driving at night use left turn signal and turns my lights off. Very scary because immediately tried to find side of road Rarely drive at night now

  5. Tires, Nov 12, 2025, crash

I bought the car back on September 2, 2024, and on October 3, 2024, we brought to shop but of a bubble we saw. 005PR-41205-00 Scorpion MA KS NCS EL 245/45R2. In April tire blew and end up on a spare tire. While using spare tire for around two weeks waiting on tire to get approved another tire blew which left me strained, so left car in Springfield MA. Next day towed the car to the dealership and after getting approved from the extended warranty company all 4 tires were replaced. After this a complaint under lemon law to buy this car back do to 5 tires were replace having the car 6 months. While in the shop it was indicated Front Driver side and Rear Driver Side has Side Bubble. Right passage front tire is believed to have caused a accident on 09/16/25 to having car deemed totaled. 4 tirers - 005PR-41205-00 Scorpion MA KS NCS EL 245/45R2.

  6. Other or unspecified, Nov 11, 2025

the Driver Attention Warning and Forward Attention Warning features are triggered way too often and even when I have my eyes on the road ahead of me. even if I try to disable it. It's very annoying!!

  7. Electrical system, Structure, Nov 8, 2025

I was riding on a suburban street and ran over a branch I did not see due to rain and darkness. I went back and looked at the incident and the branch did not seem like it was that big but I quickly lost power and my car stalled and I could not get it restarted. I later found out that that branch took out my hybrid battery connection under the car which rendered the car useless. It is a 5000 fix. I don't know why such an important part is exposed under the undercarriage of an AWD SUV. I was traveling at 27 MPH. If I had been on a highway it would have been very dangerous to have stalled out so fast. Once it was stalled the battery drained very fast from me running my hazards so that the tow truck driver had to jump it to get it to go from neutral to park and my parking brake is electric so I couldn't activate the parking brake either. I would also like to say that the headlights on this car are severely underpowered.

  8. Vehicle speed control, Oct 27, 2025

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while driving behind a trailer at 61 MPH with the cruise control activated, the indicator was activated to switch to the left lane, and the vehicle independently accelerated to the set speed of 68 MPH. The contact immediately depressed the brake pedal to slow down. There was no warning light illuminated. The failure had occurred several times and now occurred whenever the cruise control was activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure; however, the contact was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 26,434.

  9. Lane departure, Oct 23, 2025

The "take a coffee break" system is out of control. Encourages me to take a break repeatedly, even when i have both hands on the wheel and am staring straight ahead. It's distracting and frustrating, and cannot be turned off.

  10. Other or unspecified, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 1, 2025

While driving my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe on the interstate, the “Keep your eyes on the road” alert repeatedly activated even though the driver was attentive and looking forward. After multiple warnings, the system escalated to a message that the vehicle was about to be disabled, which created a serious safety concern. This happened even though the Driver Attention Warning feature is disabled in the vehicle’s settings. The issue appears to be caused by the steering-column driver monitoring camera system falsely detecting inattention. The constant alerts are distracting, and the threat of the vehicle disabling features while driving at highway speeds is dangerous.

  11. Seat belts, Sep 29, 2025

Having great difficulty releasing the seat belt. At times, have to repeat pressing red release button. I’ve been using seat belts in more than 50-75 cars on my life experience and never had trouble releasing my seat belt. This problem is consistent with all family members who drive this car. I’m concerned if an emergency situation occurs, my family will not be able to get out of car quickly.

  12. Engine, Sep 26, 2025

Vehicle was not driven for 2 days. The check engine light is one and says "active airflap issue" the flaps appear to be open when a/c is on and closed when vehicle is off. There is no debri or anything arount the air flaps. This could cause potential overheating and should not happen in a years time. We travel for my husband's job and this could be very dangerous. We thought we were buying a new RELIABLE vehicle.

  13. Other or unspecified, Sep 24, 2025

The transmission was replaced and I picked up my vehicle on 16 September. 23 September, all of the transmission lights, warning, lights and check engine light came on. The vehicle is being towed back to the dealership with transmission issues again.

  14. Other or unspecified, Sep 7, 2025

The drive attention warning system turned off the cruise control. Causing the vehicle to unexpectedly decrease speed on the interstate, which forced the cars behind me to brake hard to avoid hitting me. This system is constantly giving alerts for no reason distracting my attention to the road. I can have both hands on the wheel and looking straight forward and the system gives an alert tone and flashes a message on the screen stating it can see my face. If the cruise control is on it will disengage the cruise. If the cruise is not engaged it just keeps alert every 20 miles or so. I have taken it to the dealer, who showed me how to turn it off , but it still alerts over and over again.

  15. Service brakes, Hydraulic, Sep 4, 2025, crash

The contact owns a 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. The contact stated that while pulling into an automatic car wash and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle then drove into the car wash while the car wash conveyor system was not engaged. The contact stated that the failure recurred while driving 2-3 MPH in a parking lot, and the vehicle rear-ended another occupied vehicle. There was no damage or injury sustained. Additionally, the contact stated that while driving 5 MPH and pulling out of a parking lot, the brake pedal was depressed, but travelled down to the floorboard, and the vehicle failed to respond. The contact pumped the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to respond and rear-ended another occupied vehicle. The contact sustained cuts on the left leg from hitting the leg against the dashboard while pumping the brake pedal. The contact's vehicle sustained scratches on the front end, and the other vehicle sustained damage on the bumper plastic cover. A police report was filed. Both vehicles could be driven away from the scene. The air bags did not deploy. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing on several occasions; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

  16. Wheels, Aug 12, 2025

I lease a vehicle (under one year old) equipped with low-profile Pirelli tires. After three months, one tire developed a sidewall bulge. I contacted Pirelli and was referred to Hyundai. The Hyundai dealership advised that Pirelli tires are not covered under Hyundai’s warranty and that Pirelli must authorize any replacement. I was subsequently informed that Pirelli declined coverage.

  17. Service brakes, Aug 12, 2025

The vehicle was purchased brand new and at near 8k miles the brakes became warped. It caused severe shaking on the highway and has continued to get worse. Hyundai confirmed the brakes were bad but refused to replace the rotors. Rotors on a new car should not be warped at 8k miles, cheap materials lead to that

  18. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Aug 11, 2025, crash

Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): [XXX] Make: Hyundai Model: Santa Fe Year: 2024 Description of the issue: •Component or system that failed: The vehicle’s brake system, including the emergency braking system, failed to slow or stop the vehicle at low speeds. The problem is available for inspection upon request. •Safety risk: This failure endangered my safety and others. While driving slowly in traffic, I fully pressed the brake pedal, and the emergency braking system activated, but the vehicle did not slow or stop, causing a minor collision with another vehicle. •Reproduction or confirmation: Prior to the incident, on two separate occasions, I noticed the brake pedal felt loose or like it “released” at low speeds, forcing me to press harder for the vehicle to slow. These issues were not previously inspected or documented. I was planning to have the brake issue inspected along with a current recall and other concerns, including a stiff seatbelt buckle and a door that was difficult to open, as soon as I had the chance. I have not received any formal recall notice by mail or email. I learned about the recall during routine maintenance at the dealership. •Inspections: The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer but I plan to take it to an authorized Hyundai dealership asap for inspection. The accident has not been reported to the police or insurance yet but it will be first thing tomorrow. •Warning lamps or symptoms: No warning lights appeared, but there unusual brake behavior was noted on two occasions about two weeks before the crash. Thought this time was significantly worse, and by worse this I mean the vehicle didn’t brake. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  19. Visibility/wiper, Aug 10, 2025

I am writing to formally file a complaint regarding a sudden and unexplained crack that appeared on the windshield of my vehicle, which was parked in my driveway overnight. The vehicle was stationary, had not been involved in any accidents or incidents, and was not subjected to any apparent external impact Upon discovering the damage, I conducted thorough research and found that more than one owner of the same vehicle or same type of model have experienced an identical issue — a crack that originates at the very top edge of the windshield starting from the top and travels downward through the middle of the glass. The consistency in the location and pattern of the damage strongly suggests a potential manufacturing defect or a design flaw. This issue raises serious concerns not only about product quality but also about driver safety. Windshield integrity is a crucial component of vehicle safety systems, and such defects can compromise visibility and the structural strength of the car in the event of a collision.

  20. Tires, Jul 29, 2025

The failure occurred in the sidewalls of the two factory‑supplied all‑season tires on the passenger‑side (front and rear) of my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe. Both tires exhibit pronounced bulges on the outer sidewall of the front passenger tire. Tire size is 255/45 R20 105V M+S The rear OEM tire was replaced on February 10, 2025 and front OEM tire (with DOT codes visible) remain mounted on the vehicle, but I must replace it to keep the vehicle operational. I noticed the bulging of the second tire today, July 29, 2025. Sidewall bulges indicate internal cord separation. A sudden loss of air pressure or blowout—especially at highway speeds—could result in rapid vehicle instability, loss of control, and a potentially serious crash, endangering occupants and other road users. No, the problem has yet to be inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance or others. However there is mounting conserns and simular reports of the same problem occurring with other owners of 2024 Hyundai SantaFes with the same OEM tire. No warning lamps, messages or other symptons prior to the problem occuring. There has been no off‑road use, curb impacts, overloading, or manufacturing advisories at the time of discovery. My best assessment is a potential manufacturing or design defect in the OEM tire sidewall construction causing premature internal separation under normal use.

  21. Power train, Jul 14, 2025

I was driving and the car started to loose power and then the engine light came on and the car would not go. Everything happened at one time. The wrecker took the car to the dealer and the dealer confirmed the transmission went out. It is very dangerous for a new car to have the transmission fail while driving. This is a new car. The transmission failed and it is available for inspection at the dealer. The car is currently at the dealer and I am waiting to find out how long it will take to get a new power train.

  22. Steering, Jul 12, 2025

I was driving on the freeway at 70MPH it was dusk. The traffic was light and I was exiting the freeway. Two lanes exit and then split each direction. There is a car next to me but is not coming into my lane and nobody in front of me. Suddenly a collision alarm starts going off the vehicle brakes and the emergency steering notification lights up on the dash and the vehicle swerves to the left almost hitting the median. After this occurred the transmission started having issues at speeds under 15mph with shifting. It would rev up to about 3500rpms then lunge.

  23. Electrical system, Jul 12, 2025

I tried to open the doors of my locked vehicle with the key fob and there was no response. I tried several times and nothing happened. I called AAA and they opened the door with my valet key and was able to pop the trunk. He checked the battery and it was working fine. He then noticed that the wire connecting the battery to the fuse box has melted at the point of contract with the fuse box and actually melted part of the plastic fuse box. There was nothing he could do, so I had to have the car towed to the dealer. I was lucky that the total meltdown of the electrical system did not occur when I was driving or I would not have been able to see any of the controls on the inside of the auto and not be able to use the gear shift to put the car in park.

  24. Other or unspecified, Jun 20, 2025

Forward attention assist keeps going off. For no reason. Eyes are on the road and head is forward

  25. Other or unspecified, Jun 8, 2025

The glass on the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe seems to be incredibly unsafe. 2 weeks after purchasing the vehicle, while driving on [XXX], something kicked up into the windshield and cracked it. The crack was about 12 inches long. Overnight, the crack doubled in length. The replacement glass that was ordered to Safelite was broken upon delivery. While waiting for a new windshield, something else hit the windshield on the interstate and there was another chip. 2 weeks after my windshield was finally replaced, I found that the passenger front window was cracked in the top corner and had no idea why. Within 2 days, the window was cracked all the way from the top to the bottom. This weekend, something hit the windshield on the interstate again, and the windshield is once again cracked/chipped. I have owned 11 cars in 16 years and none of them have ever had windshield damage, despite spending my entire driving life in the same area. Now, a new car that I purchased for the purpose of avoiding maintenance costs has had 3 cracked/broken windows in 12 months, and I've spent $1000 on glass and will now have to spend another $100-$500 more to fix this one. Hyundai warranty does not cover it. Glass coverage is not an option for insurance in North Carolina. I believe that the glass on newer Hyundai vehicles is very cheap, defective, and unsafe.
