  1. Electrical system, Nov 7, 2025

All warning lights illuminate and the dashboard showing the speedometer shuts off while driving as well as the heads up display. You have no idea how fast you are going or if you are have any warning lights.

  2. Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Nov 7, 2025

Concern: DAW Driver Monitoring System False alerts shuts down cruise control. Safety issue when passing on interstate and suddenly the cruise shuts off and has to be reset. This warning sometimes goes off randomly and not due to driver attentiveness. If my arm is in top of steering wheel it blocks camera and wearing certain types of sunglasses. This system is asking the driver to not put his arm on top of wheel which is ridiculous.

  3. Forward collision avoidance, Nov 6, 2025

FCA system slammed brakes all the way to a complete stop in middle of traffic for no reason. Car in front was slowing down, and I was already braking at more than a safe distance. This is completely unacceptable and extremely dangerous. There needs to be a way to permanently disable this overkill feature that creates way worse problems than it is supposed to solve. There are numerous complaints about this issue from other owners of this model, please help!

  4. Forward collision avoidance, Nov 5, 2025

I was driving on the road this morning approx. 25 mph (clear road, no rain, snow etc.) The car came to a full abrupt stop. Collusion/warning notification never came on (there was nothing in front of me) seatbelt locked. Car would not move. I put the car in park and had to turn the car off and back on to get the car to move. This honestly scared the life out of me. I had several cars behind me that could of rear ended my car and caused serious harm to myself or other drivers. I called the dealership (will be dropping off this evening) but they made it very clear that if they can not duplicate the problem there is nothing that they can do. The car has 8,000 miles on it and was purchased in April 2025.

  5. Other or unspecified, Nov 3, 2025

Driver Assist Warning system. The driver assist warning in the vehicle provided a false alarm every 4-5 minutes while driving on the interstate. The trip was during the day and the driver was alert staying between the lane lines. The driver assist warning system was disabled in the vehicle settings. This problem has been reported by multiple individuals in the Hyundai forums.

  6. Forward collision avoidance, Nov 3, 2025

Multiple times my vehicle has come to a complete stop unwarranted. There have been multiple instances of the automatic braking triggering on Michigan left hand turns with no traffic oncoming. This was reported to the dealer and they found no issue, however it has happened again since. The vehicle has also multiple times come to a full stop in heavy traffic when I was already braking and a full stop was unnecessary. There were two instances from this where I was very nearly rear ended, including on the expressway. There were no warnings that the system was malfunctioning.

  7. Engine, Oct 28, 2025

The engine dipstick plastic bottom presents an issue to remove dipstick. Dipstick must be wiggled or twisted as it is pulled up without force for removal. The engine head and block holes are not in perfect alignment. The concern is if the dipstick is removed by force the plastic on the end of dipstick could be broken off and end up in the oil pan. That could cause engine damage and a possible safety issue losing power. Hyundai National Consumer Affairs has been notified but states they cannot report a design complaint directly. They offered the NHTSA as a place to report this concern. This was also experienced on another same make/model car on dealers' lot.

  8. Other or unspecified, Oct 23, 2025

The "Consider Taking a Break" indicator illuminates erratically. We can drive it for 200 miles and it won't come on or we can drive it for 13 miles and it comes on 9 times. We've had the vehicle in the dealership for inspection (3) times. The dealership could not get it to fail. The dealership and Hyundai America said it's nothing they can do. It's an unnecessary annoying "distraction" while we're driving and we know distracted driving is the main cause of accidents. We had an incident where I took my eyes off the road to check the warning "Consider Taking a Break" light and bell came on, at that moment a large wild bird flew towards my windshield. The bird would have hit my windshield if it wasn't for my passenger yelling to stop. We had another incident where my spouse took her eyes off the road to check the "Consider Taking a Break" light came on when she was approaching a cross walk with a pedestrian in it. The problem has not been duplicated by the dealer. They may assume all of us are poor drivers because they suggested changing sun glasses, keep hands at 10 & 2, don't block the camera, sit straight up in driver seat, etc. I told the dealership and Hyundai America that I was willing to have this dangerous feature an option that I could turn off or totally removed. They said they can't do it because it's a safety feature.

  9. Wheels, Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 23, 2025, crash

While driving a 2025 Hyundai Tucson rental vehicle (VIN: [XXX] ), I experienced a sudden and unintended acceleration, and the steering appeared to turn without input. The vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree on a local street two blocks from my residence. The result was the wheel was popped off of it's axel and deflated immediately. Two days prior, I experienced a similar event in the same vehicle — sudden acceleration and braking hard making a loud braking noise. I suspect a mechanical or electronic malfunction. No warning or sensors were alerting me that this would happen. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  10. Forward collision avoidance, Oct 23, 2025

While driving at speed in heavy traffic, I quickly merged from the right lane to the left lane to avoid an obstacle. My vehicle and the new vehicle in front of me (in the left lane) were traveling at approximately the same speed, although there was an admittedly small (one half car length) distance between us. My forward collision assist inaccurately identified this new vehicle in front of me as a sudden danger that I was going to hit. It immediately applied full braking power and played the forward collision alert sound. This aggressive and unexpected stop spilled and broke items in my car as they slid, roughly strained me against my seat belt, and caused the vehicle behind me to aggressively brake. A rear end collision was narrowly avoided, only due to the fast reaction of the driver behind me. This aggressive and dangerous forward assist and emergency braking can only be temporarily disabled for one drive, and resets every time the vehicle is turned on. I have not had my vehicle inspected for this issue, but communities on the internet have confirmed that this is a common problem.

  11. Electrical system, Oct 21, 2025

My instrument cluster goes off/on intermittently causing a safety issue (I'm unable to see how fast I'm driving etc). The problem has happened to me everyday for the last 1.5 weeks, however the dealer has had the car for a week now and claims they can't replicate the issue to get the code to order the part (I have filed a complaint with Hyundai). I want to go on record as this is not a recall with hyundai yet, but I am aware it is a well known problem with 2025 Hyundai Tucson's according to a North America Facebook page I belong to where we discuss various topics (positive and negative) regarding our cars.

  12. Forward collision avoidance, Oct 21, 2025

The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the contact attempted to switch lanes, and the Forward Collision Avoidance feature intermittently activated, bringing the vehicle to a complete stop. The contact started to experience neck pain from the consistency of the failure, but did not seek medical attention. The failure had occurred on several different occasions. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, where it was diagnosed that the vehicle was performing as designed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that she was concerned that the brakes would sustain damage over time due to the constant failures. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that if the contact permanently disabled the Forward Collision Avoidance feature, the warranty would be affected. The failure mileage was approximately 8.

  13. Forward collision avoidance, Oct 21, 2025

Many 2025 Hyundai Tucson owners have reported significant issues with the driver attention warning feature, particularly when using cruise control and wearing sunglasses, leading to safety concerns and frustration. Common Complaints Constant Alerts: Many drivers have experienced the driver attention warning activating unnecessarily, especially while using cruise control. Users report that the system beeps and prompts them to keep their eyes on the road, even when they are attentive and looking straight ahead. This has led to frustration, with some considering disabling the feature entirely. 2 Sunglasses Interference: A recurring issue is that the driver attention warning system struggles to detect the driver's eyes when sunglasses are worn. This has caused the system to issue warnings and disable cruise control, which can be particularly dangerous in heavy traffic situations. Drivers have noted that even moderately tinted sunglasses can trigger these alerts, making it difficult to use the vehicle comfortably. 2 Safety Concerns: Some users have reported alarming incidents where the driver attention warning system caused abrupt braking, leading to near-collisions. For instance, one driver described a situation where the system suddenly applied the brakes while driving between vehicles, creating a hazardous situation. This has raised serious safety concerns among owners, particularly regarding the system's reliability and responsiveness. 1 Lack of Support from Hyundai: Many drivers have expressed dissatisfaction with Hyundai's response to these issues. Complaints about the driver attention warning feature have been met with minimal support, and some users feel that their concerns are not being adequately addressed by the manufacturer. 2 3 Sources Summary of Issues Overall, the driver attention warning feature in the 2025 Hyundai Tucson has been a source of frustration and concern for many owners. The combination of false alerts, interference from sunglasses.

  14. Other or unspecified, Oct 20, 2025

There is a "consider taking a break" warning that pops up pretty often on this car. When I am doing normal driving. It is a MAJOR distraction and creates an unsafe situation. There is no way to turn off this feature

  15. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 18, 2025

The car breaks itself so abruptly when there is no real danger. This has almost caused for me to be rear ended on multiple occasions. Especially scary on the freeway. The forward collision warning is set to "late," and it still causes a huge jolt.

  16. Forward collision avoidance, Oct 17, 2025

I have taken the vehicle to dealer every month since purchase . The light for the forward collision inside the RPM dial continues to come on as I driving . I have made several attempts with the dealer to fix this matter. The vehicle is new . It now has 13,696 miles on it now since purchase. I have a case with HYUNDAI of America . I left my vehicle with the dealer for a month of this time and I got my vehicle back , it had grey seats instead of black. My tires were different as there are rotated burn marks on the exterior of them . Something is wrong here . I am inheriting a problem that is not safe while driving . My understanding from reading about the forward collision light is deactivating while driving . How is this safe for the driver and occupants or others on the road .

  17. Power train, Oct 16, 2025

I bought a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 on Aug. 7, 2025. My car has 1541 miles on Oct. 8. I tried to drive my car out of the garage, and the engine would start, but it wouldn't move forward or backward. There were three warnings on the dashboard: Powertrain, hybrid, and something. Hyundai headquarters called and said there was a problem with my car. They will send a tow truck. It has been one week since my car was taken to the dealer. I haven't heard back. When I called today, they said there was a problem with the TCM and they ordered a module. So, I guess I just have to wait and see.

  18. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 14, 2025, crash

I was traveling on [XXX] in Nashville. There was a motorcycle speed trap on the right shoulder so I moved over to the left. The car in front of me also moved to the left and my car slammed on the brakes and came to a complete stop on the highway. I was badly rear-ended causing $12,500 in damage. This has happened 2 other times to me since then. This seems to be a consistent problem with the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. I'm fixing my car and selling it as I don't feel safe. 19. Other or unspecified, Oct 14, 2025

The safety feature on this SUV. “Take a break” the fact that it blares at you and makes so much noise all the time is so dumb. It can flash all it wants but when I’m traveling a long distance and I have kids or other people sleeping the car and get woke up because it’s beeping so loud it’s annoying. I think the noise should be able to be disabled. I can’t be the only one that this drives crazy.

  20. Steering, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Oct 13, 2025

Vehiclr has been doing this since 4 montbs after purchase, then a recall came out we were told it would fix the problem. 3 times now since the recall the odometer screen and media screen will go blank while your driving. The car wont accelerate, turn signals, and steering colum becomes hard to operate properly. We have had to near accidents 1 being less than 2 hours in August of 2025 after Hyundai just claimed to repair the issue. We were driving on [XXX], screen went out, we lost full control of steering, had to wrestle with the wheel to keep car in its lane, we were almost hit by semi truck and ran off road. We immediately took car back to dealership, and shop assistant mgr was able to see for himself, it wasnt working after theu just made repair. They kept car a few days we were very reluctant to take vehicle back, out of these safety concerns, and my family having to ride in this vehicle. We took ot back as the dealership assured us the matter had been taken care. Then last week on [XXX], in the evening was driving down street and the screens started to flicker and the car wouldnt stay centeryed in the lane, then it happened both went blank, the car slowed down and the fight began on operating vehicle. In regards to no turn signal would go off, it wouldnt accelerate, the steering wouldnt operate correctly, if O wanted to center the car in the lane, it would pull the car another direction. A 7 minute ride home took over 20 minutes. We took car back to World Hyundai Matteson, the next morning and called Hyundai Corporate office to inform them we didnt want the vehicle back. 21. Forward collision avoidance, Lane departure, Oct 13, 2025

The vehicle will continuously pop up the notification “Consider Taking A Break” while driving at highway speeds when using the adaptive cruise control. When this occurs it emits 6-7 audible beeps that distract the driver from the wrong and to look towards the instrument cluster. It was also turn down the infotainment system as well. This feature is unable to be turned off in the settings z it has continuously distracted my driving and made it more unsafe while driving at highway speeds. It makes the adaptive cruise control not worth using which is more harmful for a driver to continually have to accelerate and decelerate.

  22. Seat belts, Oct 12, 2025

The driver's side rear passenger seat belt doesn't latch.

  23. Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 11, 2025

There is a camera mounted on the steering column that is "supposed" to be a safety feature to tell you when you are not paying attention to the road. It gives you a picture of a coffee cup and says "consider taking a break" along with repetitive beeping. Unfortunately, if you wear sunglasses (mine are prescription), a hat, are too short or too tall it can go off repeatedly. It is extremely distracting and causes you to take your eyes off the road to see what's going on. On a 350 mile trip that I make often, it has gone off for a solid hour every 4 minutes! It averages about 30-40 times in that 5 1/2 hour trip. It also mutes anything that is playing through the infotainment system including directions. I have asked the dealer who says there is nothing they can do and it is a known problem. Hyundai says it is functioning as designed. I have also filed a report with Hyundai. A safety feature that causes distractions is not a safety feature! Also, the emergency braking has almost caused me to get rear ended on a number of occasions. I have been in the process of slowing down or braking when the emergency system kicks in and almost throws me through the windshield. Cars following at a reasonable distance have to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Isn't this feature supposed to help you avoid accidents, not cause them

  24. Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 9, 2025

In my 2024 Tuscon, Hyundai has connected their cruise control to their driver assistance function. This system includes a camera on the steering column that watches the drivers eyes. If for any reason, they cannot see your eyes they will shutdown cruise control without warning. This can be caused by simply wearing sun glasses. So this forces the customer to choose between two safety features. Cruise control which we all know has signifcant safety implications reducing stress fatique, etc. and bypass all the driver assistance systems. There are people who are putting black tape over the camera and disabling DAS so they can use their cruise control due to the inability to wear sun glasses when heading west (obviously even within a curve, so it shuts down unexectedly in the curve). Surely that is not an acceptable solution. Hyundai should add an option to ignore the eye checks while using the cruise control but so far they have totally ignored it. You can google for "Hyundai cruise control sunglasses" and will see a lot of complaints and people disabling safety features. Obviously there is no specific event, this is happening all the time in the US.

  25. Power train, Electrical system, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 8, 2025

The following problems began 5 months ago, 8 months after purchase with about 4770 mileage and current mileage of about 7623: Multiple occurrences of Check Engine light coming on, sometimes setting DTC code, but often not setting code. Multiple occurrences of Crash Warning light coming on; It may have set a code or codes, but usually not. I think neither dealer was able to reproduce these 2 intermittent problems. Engine light, so far, has not occurred since it was traced to faulty connectors. As far as I know, the Crash Warning light has not come on since the dealer reduced front camera sensitivity. Also, for the past 5 months there has been intermittent, engine miss, skipping or cut-out. As of this writing it still occurs while driving and will lurch or buck if it happens under acceleration This is not frequent, but it happens erratically and it may happen only once or a few times in one day or several days between. This has not set a DTC code as far as I know; I think the following may be related to the skipping. Once, while coming to a stop, the engine stopped or almost stopped; it bucked when it happened, but continued to run. All warning lights came on for a second or two, then went off, except 3 warning lights and the warning triangle. Although the engine was running, the tachometer and speedometer read Zero. The engine bucked as I slowly drove into a parking lot, then I restarted the engine; it seemed ok, then. About 3 weeks later, while driving at slow speed, just as I took my foot off the brake and was about to accelerate, the engine quit. When the engine quit, the audible Crash Alarm went off with a message saying the engine was not running, press the start button. I started the engine, it did not have normal power. I stopped, restarted the engine and it seemed ok. I have been to the dealer several times because of these problems; dealer is still troubleshooting the last incident. This could cause an accident, especially if it occurs at a higher speed.
