Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles equipped with a power liftgate. An electrical short in the power liftgate module may lead to a vehicle fire with the ignition on or off.
A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will relocate the power liftgate module and add a water shield. In addition, dealers will inspect for corrosion and replace the module and electrical connectors, if necessary. Repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner letters were mailed March 1, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is 49A. This recall supersedes recalls 15V-393 and 15V-826. Vehicles repaired under the prior recalls will still need to have the new remedy performed.

Power train, driveline, differential unitJun 11, 2020
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2017 Jeep Cherokee vehicles equipped with a two-speed Power Transfer Unit (PTU). Relative movement in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) between the differential input splines and the transmission output shaft may cause some input spline teeth to wear off, which may eventually cause a loss of engagement between the transmission and the differential inside the PTU. If this occurs, power cannot be transferred between the front wheels and the transmission which results in a loss of drive while the vehicle is in motion and a loss of the Park function while stationary.
A loss of drive can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning. A loss of the Park function can cause unintended vehicle rollaway which can increase the risk of a crash or injury.
FCA US LLC will notify owners, and dealers will perform a software update that will maintain vehicle propulsion by engaging rear wheel drive and prevent rolling in Park by activating the electronic parking brake if a failed input spline occurs. This recall began July 14, 2020. Owners may contact FCA USA LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA's number for this recall is W47.

Power train, automatic transmissionJun 13, 2019
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014 Jeep Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.2L engines. In the event that a clutch becomes stuck in the transmission, the transmission software may shift the transmission to neutral.
An unexpected shift to neutral would result in a loss of drive, increasing the risk of crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the transmission software, free of charge. The recall began August 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V69.

Electrical system, wiringMay 17, 2018
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

EquipmentDec 21, 2017
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.
Chrysler will notify owners instructing them to contact Kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began February 14, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or Kidde customer service service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.kidde.com and click on "Product Safety Recall" for more information. SeatsAug 10, 2016
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Jeep Cherokee vehicles manufactured July 29, 2013, to February 5, 2016. The seat fasteners on the first or second row seats may not have been tightened to the proper torque specification.
Loose fasteners may allow the seats to move, increasing the risk of injury to the seat occupants in the event of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the seats or seat sets, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during September 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall S63.

Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Jeep Cherokee and 2015 Chrysler 200, Jeep Renegade, RAM ProMaster, and 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles equipped with 9-speed automatic transmissions. The transmission sensor clusters may have insufficient crimps in the transmission wire harness, and as a result, the transmission may unexpectedly shift to neutral. On August 29, 2016 Chrysler added the 2016 Fiat 500X vehicles to this recall.
If the vehicle unexpectedly shifts to neutral, there is an increased risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module and the Transmission Control Module and if necessary replace the transaxle range sensor wire harness, free of charge. The recall began on November 7, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S55.

Equipment, electrical, radio/tape deck/cd etc.Jul 23, 2015
Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500, 2015 Chrysler 200, Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, and Dodge Challenger, 2014-2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, and Dodge Durango, and 2013-2015 Dodge Viper vehicles. The affected vehicles are equipped with radios that have software vulnerabilities that can allow third-party access to certain networked vehicle control systems.
Exploitation of the software vulnerability may result in unauthorized remote modification and control of certain vehicle systems, increasing the risk of a crash.
Chrysler will notify and mail affected owners a USB drive that includes a software update that eliminates the vulnerability, free of charge. Optionally, owners may download the update to their own USB drive from http://www.driveuconnect.com/software-update/ or take their vehicle to a Chrysler dealer for immediate installation. In an effort to mitigate the effects of this security vulnerability, Chrysler has had the wireless service provider close the open cellular connection to the vehicle that provided unauthorized access to the vehicle network. This measure may not have been implemented on all vehicles and does not address access by other means that will be remedied by the software update. The recall began on August 25, 2015. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is R40.

CHRYSLTER RECALL 3 S55 RECALL REPAIR IS TAKING TOO LONG TO COMPLETE! I'M A HEART PATIENT AND MY WIFE HAS PARKINSON'S AND WE HAVE TO TRAVE OVER A MOUNTAIN PASS TO SEE DOCTORS. WE FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS CAR. WE CAN NOT R]TRADE DUE TO THE LENGTH OF THE RECALL!

WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT ON A TWO-LANE HIGHWAY, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED ITSELF INTO NEUTRAL AND ALL FORWARD POWER WAS GONE. THE GEARSHIFT LEVER COULD BE MOVED, BUT WOULD NOT PUT THE CAR BACK INTO ANY GEAR. WE TURNED ON EMERGENCY FLASHERS, PUT THE GEARSHIFT IN PARK, SHUT OFF THE CAR. WE RE-STARTED THE CAR AFTER A SHORT PERIOD, AND IT THEN WENT BACK INTO GEAR. FORTUNATELY, THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND US WHEN THIS HAPPENED. HAD THERE BEEN, IT COULD EASILY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. IF IT HAPPENED ON AN EXPRESSWAY, THIS COULD CAUSE A FATAL CRASH! WE RELAYED THIS TO A JEEP DEALER IN MESA, AZ. IT IS ASSUMED TO BE RELATED TO YOUR SAFETY RECALL 16V-529. THERE ARE OTHERS TALKING ABOUT THIS ON LINE. PLEASE, GET THE MANUFACTURER MOVING TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR KILLED. *TR

SINCE I BOUGHT THIS JEEP NEW IN 2014 ITS BEEN UNABLE TO PREDICTABLY GO FROM STOP TO START. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC (WHICH IS DAILY WHERE I LIVE). I'VE HAD ALL THE TRANSMISSION FLASHES AND EACH ONE SEEMS TO WORK FOR A WEEK OR TWO BEFORE THIS BEHAVIOR RETURNS. THERE'S ALSO A GRINDING/CLANKING NOISE WHEN GOING FROM REVERSE TO FORWARD - THE SAME NOISE CAN SOMETIMES BE HEARD WHEN GOING OVER A SPEED BUMP.

TRANSMISSION ELECTRONICALLY SHIFTED FROM DRIVE TO MANUAL, WHILE IN TRAFFIC, THREE TIMES SO FAR. SERVICE TRANSMISSION, SERVICE EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL OFF, AND MIL ILLUMINATED(CODE P0887 STORED). SOFTWARE UPDATES PREFORMED IN JULY. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS ERRATICALLY AT LOW SPEEDS SINCE UPDATES AND PROBLEM BACK IN OCTOBER OF 2016, WITH A REAR END COLLISION BARELY AVERTED.

MY 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE LOST FORWARD GEARS WITHOUT WARNING. I WAS STOPPED AND TRIED TO PULL OUT ON A BUSY INTERSECTION. I LOST ALL FORWARD POWER LIMPED FORWARD 10 FEET AND STOPPED. ROUTE 51 IN JEFFERSON BOROUGH IS A MAJOR 4 LANE AND THIS COULD HAVE CAUSED A MAJOR ACCIDENT. I HAD TO REVERSE TO SAFETY. THERE IS A KNOWN RECALL THAT JEEP IS REFUSING TO FIX. THEY ARE PUTTING PEOPLES LIVES IN DANGER WITH A SUB STANDARD TRANSMISSION. I WANT JEEP TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION SYSTEM AND NOT JUST THE PARTS THEY DEEM IN THEIR INTERNAL SELECTION. IF IT SUPPORTS A TRANSMISSION THEY SHOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND BUILD IT CORRECTLY. SAFETY SHOULD BE A CONCERN AND OBVIOUSLY IT ISN'T. MY JEEP IS LESS THAN 2 YEARS OLD, I'VE COMPLAINED MULTIPLE TIMES ABOUT HARD SHIFTING TO THE DEALER AND ALL THEY DID WAS ADJUST THE SHIFT POINTS. NOW MY LIFE IS IN DANGER BECAUSE OF THEIR SAFETY ISSUE. JEEP NEEDS TO FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE IN ALL JEEPS AND NOT JUST A SELECT FEW. PLEASANT HILLS JEEP SHOULD BE REVOKED AS A 5 STAR DEALER AND JEEP SHOULD BE FORCED TO STOP PRODUCTION OF THIS SUBSTANDARD TRANSMISSION.

MY TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN JERKING DURING GEAR SHIFT SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR. ON THE EXPRESSWAY TRAVELING 75 MPH IN A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA WHEN MY TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY QUIT AND WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF NEUTRAL. I LOST SPEED RAPIDLY AND LUCKILY I WAS UNABLE TO GET TO THE SIDE OF THE EXPRESSWAY WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.

THE ENGINE SHUT OFF 11 TIMES WHILE DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY AND IN THE STREETS. TWO OF THEM ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHILE DRIVING UP HILL AND DRIVING IN THE FREEWAY OVER A SPEED OF 65MPH. THE POWER SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING WHILE MOVING AND IT NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED ONCE TO SEVERAL TIMES TO START THE ENGINE. IT GOES FROM DRIVE TO NEUTRAL TO RENGINE SHUTOFF. IT KEPT HAPPENINGFOR TWO YEARS NOW AND BEFORE THE S55 TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS. FREMONT JEEP DEALERSHIP ARE INSISTING THAT IT IS STILL OKAH TO DRIVE EVEN AFTER NUMEROUS INCIDENTS AND EVEN IF THEY DONT HAVE THE PARTS YET FOR THE RECALL. STATED IN THE RECALL INFORMATION "THE LOSS OF MOTIVE POWER COULD CRASH WITHOUT WARNING". I AM VERY AFRAID TO USE THE CAR AND AFRAID FOR MY PASSENGER AS WELL AS FOR OTHER PEOPLE IF EVER THERE WILL BE A MAJOR ACCIDENT THAT THE JEEP/CHRYSLER IS WAITING TO HAPPEN BEFORE THEY MAKE A MOVE. THEY DONT RECOMMEND ANYTHING BUT TO WAIT FOR INDEFINITE TIME FRAME OF WHEN THE PARTS GONNA BE AVAILABLE. I THINK THEY WANT US 2014 JEEP CHEROKEE OWNERS RISK AND SACRIFICE OUR LIFE.

BOUGHT THIS CAR USED JANUARY 1, 2016. THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD IT FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. GREAT CONDITION, ABOUT 40,000 MILES ON IT, CARFAX CHECKED OUT AND I BOUGHT IT FROM A CHRYSLER DEALERSHIP. ON OCTOBER 12, 2016, LEAVING WORK FOR THE DAY, I DROVE ABOUT A BLOCK AND THE CAR SHUT OFF ON ME AS I WAS LEAVING A STOPPED POSITION. I HAD TO PUT ON MY EMERGENCY LIGHTS AND HAVE CARS GO AROUND ME UNTIL IT FINALLY TURNED BACK ON AFTER SEVERAL MINUTES OF PRESSING THE START BUTTON. LUCKILY, ALL THREE TIMES THIS HAPPENED AT A STOP ON CITY STREETS, BUT THERE'S NO WAY OF KNOWING IF THIS WOULD HAPPEN ON THE INTERSTATE. BUT EVEN SITTING STALLED IN THE ROAD PUTS ME AT RISK IF A CAR BEHIND ME WERE TO NOT EXPECT A STOPPED CAR AND CRASH INTO ME. I HAD THIS SAME ISSUE BACK ON APRIL 11, 2016 & JULY 7TH. THE DEALERSHIP ON THOSE OCCASIONS DETERMINED THAT WAS A SENSOR THAT WAS 'OVER SENSITIVE' SAYING THE OIL LEVELS WERE LOW AND IT WAS SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AS A PRECAUTION. THEY ASKED FOR ME TO COME BACK IN EVERY 2,500 MILES TO READJUST THE SENSOR. THAT'S INCREDIBLY INCONVENIENT FOR MY BUSY LIFESTYLE AND IT'S ALREADY BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THIS REASON FOR TWO WEEKS. TODAY IS THE OCT. 15TH AND I WON'T HAVE A CHANCE TO EVEN SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR A WEEK. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR BECAUSE WE'RE PLANNING ON STARTING A FAMILY, WITH ALL OF THE ISSUES I'M HAVING, I'M NOT EVEN COMFORTABLE GIVING FRIENDS A RIDE. I LOVE THIS CAR, BUT FEEL REALLY RIPPED OFF BY BEING SOLD A CAR WITH PROBLEMS THEY WON'T OR FIX. BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE, I AVOID THE INTERSTATE AND DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE TAKING THIS CAR ON ANY TRIPS TOO FAR FROM HOME. ALSO WOULD LIKE TO NOTE THAT ON THE FIRST OCCASION OF TAKING THIS CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, THEY HAD TO UPDATE TWO PAGES OF SOFTWARE UPDATES AND TWO SAFETY RECALLS THEY HAD NOT DONE BEFORE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM THEM. THEY DID TAKE CARE OF THIS AT THAT VISIT.

2014 JEEP CHEROKEE TRANSMISSION JERKS. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY CLAIM IT'S WORKING AS INTENDED BECAUSE IT'S A NEW TECHNOLOGY. THIS TRANSMISSION JERKS AND IS VERY SLUGGISH. I ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT TURNING LEFT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. THE CAR DID NOT WANT TO ACCELERATE. LUCKILY INCOMING TRAFFIC SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH FOR ME TO PASS. I FAIL TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS NORMAL AND ALSO FAIL TO BELIEVE THAT THERE'S NOTHING THE DEALER CAN DO. APPARENTLY THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF OTHER CHEROKEE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. ADD ME TO THE LIST. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON WHAT ELSE I CAN DO?

WHILE TOWING OUR JEEP BEHIND A CLASS A 24 FOOT MOTORHOME TRAVELING ABOUT 50 MILES AN HOUR ON A BUMPY ROAD THE JEEP STARTED SHAKING VIOLENTLY AND TRYING TO PULL TO ONE SIDE OR THE OTHER. WE SLOWED DOWN BUT IT CONTINUED UNTIL WE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. CARS BEHIND US CLEARED OUT AWAY BECAUSE I'M SURE THEY THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO BREAK LOOSE. WE OF COURSE WERE SCARED AND CONCERNED AS WE HAD NO IDEA WHAT WAS HAPPENING. WE ARE IN A VERY REMOTE AREA WITH NO CELL PHONE SERVICE AND CONCERN ABOUT DANGER TO US AND OTHER TRAVELERS AS WE HAD NO PLACE TO PULL OFF. WE DID A THOROUGH WALK AROUND CONCERNED ABOUT FLAT TIRES OR A BROKEN TOW HITCH. I RECALL AN ARTICLE IN MOTORHOME MAGAZINE CONCERNING "DEATH WOBBLE "IN 2014 AND 15 JEEP CHEROKEE'S. WE DID A YOUTUBE SEARCH AND INTERNET AND FOUND OUT THERE IS A HISTORY OF THIS PROBLEM THAT JEEP IS TRYING TO CORRECT BUT IT DOES NOT SEEM TO BE WORKING. IF WE HAD BEEN TOWING THE JEEP WITH A PICK UP TRUCK WE PROBABLY WOULD'VE BEEN FLIPPED OFF THE ROAD, LUCKILY WE ARE IN A BIG HEAVY MOTORHOME. MOTORHOME OWNERS MAY FIND OUT ABOUT THIS AS TIME GOES ON BUT THESE JEEPS WILL BE TRADED TO UNINFORMED OWNERS THAT MAY PULLTHE JEEP WITH A SMALLER VEHICLE. THE NAME DEATH WOBBLE ALL OVER YOUTUBE HAS ME CONCERNED AS HOW THE NAME CAME TO BE. I REALLY FEEL THIS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN WHILE BEING PULLED BY LIGHTWEIGHT RV OR SUVS OR ALREADY OBVIOUSLY HAS HAPPENED BUT NOT REPORTED. IT IS IN A VERY LIMITED SITUATION BUT NEVERTHELESS OWNERS AND POTENTIAL OWNERS SHOULD BE MADE AWARE AND A BETTER FIX SHOULD BE FORTHCOMING. ON OCTOBER 10, 2016, I WAS DRIVING ON AN ACCESS ROAD NEXT TO A HIGHWAY WHEN MY CAR LOST MOTIVE POWER. I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 40MPH AND I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER FROM THE LANE I WAS IN. MY DASHBOARD KEPT FLASHING "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" AND ALSO TO "PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND RE-START." FOR TEN MINUTES, I ATTEMPTED TO RE-START THE VEHICLE AND BEGIN DRIVING AGAIN. EACH TIME I WOULD TRY TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, THERE WAS A VERY LOUD RACKET SOUND FROM SHIFTING AND I HAD TO PUT THE CAR BACK IN PARK. FINALLY, ON THE SIXTH ATTEMPT, I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO DRIVE WITHOUT THE SOUND AND I IMMEDIATELY DROVE MY CAR HOME. I AM DISHEARTENED AS THIS WAS A PURCHASE OF A USED VEHICLE ONLY A FEW DAYS PRIOR, ON OCTOBER 8, 2016, THAT HAD ONLY 30,000 MILES. NEEDLESS TO SAY, MY CAR IS ALREADY AT MY LOCAL JEEP DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR, AND NOT MUCH REASSURANCE WITH REGARDS TO THE ASSOCIATED RECALL, AS PARTS ARE NOT READY YET. THIS WAS INTENDED TO BE A FAMILY VEHICLE, BUT IF IT STOPS WHILE DRIVING, IT WILL RENDER MY FAMILY COMPLETELY UNSAFE. THE S55 RECALL CONCERNS A POORLY DESIGNED WIRING HARNESS, THAT CAUSES THE COMPUTER TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING. CAR RANDOMLY STOPS MOVING WHILE DRIVING, SOMETIMES WHILE TURNING A CORNER. SEEMS LIKE IT TURNS ITSELF OFF, BUT LIGHTS ON DASH ARE STILL ON. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHAT CAUSES IT AND AM HOPING THAT IT WILL BE RESOLVED ONCE THEY HAVE A SOLUTION TO THE CURRENT RECALL FOR THE TRANSAXLE WIRE HARNESS. HAVE BROUGHT IT TO DEALER A FEW TIMES AND THEY KEEP TELLING US IT HAS TO DO WITH THE 20% OIL LIFE. I DON'T SEE HOW THAT WOULD MAKE A CAR TURN OFF. AND WHY WOULD THEY MAKE A CAR THAT NEEDS TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED BEFORE THE OIL LIFE IS UP OR AT ALL.

DRIVING AT FULL SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DISENGAGED, WHICH LED TO REDLINING THE RPMS, BECAUSE IT FAILED TO GIVE ME ANY CONTROL OF THROTTLE/ACCELERATION. I HAD TO GET OVER AND COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE "SERVICE TRANSMISSION" NOTE CAME ON THE SCREEN AS WELL AS CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION SLAMMED A FEW TIMES AS IF IT WERE UNABLE TO FIND ITS GEAR. I HAVE IT AT A DEALERSHIP NOW, APPARENTLY BEING TOLD FLASHING IT MAY FIX THE ISSUE...HOWEVER, THAT DOESN'T MAKE ME FEEL BETTER WITH HOW THE VEHICLE ACTED OR IF ANY DAMAGE OCCURRED DUE TO THIS "COMPUTER" ISSUE. THIS IS OUR FAMILY VEHICLE, SO HAVING SOME MAJOR DOUBTS RIGHT NOW.

TRANSMISSION SKIPS GEARS AND SOMETIMES IS EXTREMELY SLOW TO START GETTING THE CAR GOING (ACCELERATION) (EVERY ROAD INCLUDING WHEN YOU ARE STATIONARY. THE BODY OF THE CAR CONTINUOUSLY SHAKES IF YOU ARE DRIVING ON A SMOOTH ROAD (LIKE YOU CAN HEAR THE BODY OF THE CAR <SHELL OF THE CAR> (HIGHWAY, CITY, STRAIGHT AND TURNING) WHEN BACKING UP, THE CAR WILL BREAK IMMEDIATLEY IF THERE IS NOTHING IN THE WAY CAUSING A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. (BACKING UP, OR DRIVING IN THE CITY IT WILL BREAK AND I CAN'T OVERRIDE THE SYSTEM MAKING IT VERY EASY FOR SOMEONE TO REAR END YOU) THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE DEEMED UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND RECALLED.

I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN EVERY 5000 MILES COMPLAINING OF "HARD" TRANSMISSION SHIFTS, AND THE VEHICLE LUNGING FORWARD WHEN APPLYING BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. TRANSMISSION DOES NOT REACT WHEN YOU ARE AT A STOP AND APPLY THE GAS, MOTOR ON THE VEHICLE WILL REV UP AND THEN EVENTUALLY THE TRANSMISSION WILL KICK IN. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INTO (3) DIFFERENT MOPAR DEALERS AND ALL OF THEM GIVE ME SOME SONG AND DANCE ABOUT "UPDATES" THE UPDATES ARE DONE AND THE VEHICLE STILL DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY. THIS VEHICLE IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE BECAUSE OF THE TRANSMISSION LUNGING FORWARD WHEN YOU ARE COMING TO A STOP.

WITHIN DAYS I NOTICED ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. 1ST, 2ND, & 3RD GEAR CAN BE VERY JERKY.SOMETIMES 1ST GEAR HOLDS 5-8 SECONDS BEFORE SHIFTING. SOME JERKING IS VIOLENT. ALSO DECLINING STEEP HIGHWAY MOUNTAIN ROADS IS AN ISSUE AT TIMES. WHEN BRAKING AT START OF DECLINE RPM'S JUMP BY 2000 RPMS & CAR SEEMS TO THRUST FORWARD. IT'S LIKE IT DOESN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. IT IS VERY UNSETTLING
