The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic. An unknown recall repair was performed; however, the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was towed to the same independent mechanic where the cause of the failure was not determined. The contact discovered an unknown recall however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

  3. Power train, May 12, 2024

The car stalls when idling and the transmission seems to be stuck in one gear making it difficult to accelerate

  4. Power train, Engine, May 11, 2024

On multiple separate occasions, the engine and transmission have failed catastrophically leaving the vehicle without power and unable to perform emergency maneuvers. After only months of owning the vehicle, the engine block cracked and was misdiagnosed by dealer 2 times. I was forced to drive the faulty and dangerous vehicle 1.5hrs back to the dealer on a busy interstate and vehicle was improperly repaired with very little actual diagnosis. AUL warranty covered engine replacement and I was unable to drive the vehicle for up to 4 months as a result. I finally got my vehicle back and drove it for approximately 4 months, and now the PTU has failed totally, causing me to lose control while cornering due to loss of power to the wheels, transmission began to grind badly and the vehicle rolled freely for a long distance before stopping via brake pedal. I was then stranded on a very remote gravel road for hours in the middle of the night waiting for assistance and unable to call for help or drive the vehicle. Dealer states PTU failed and entire transmission and transfer case will be replaced under AUL warranty. No warning lamps were illuminated before, during, or after the malfunction despite the obviously failed PTU. Many other Jeep Cherokee KL 2019 owners have reported similar failures at as low as 60k miles. The cost of repair has nearly surpassed the price I paid for the vehicle. I have lost 2000+ paying car payments on a vehicle that is unsafe and unreliable. No recalls or service bulletins related to either issue have been made available. This model and year of vehicle is extremely dangerous and an overpriced ripoff as well.

  5. Power train, May 8, 2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds and stopping at traffic lights, the vehicle lost motive power and started to reverse unintendedly. The vehicle was restarted each time. Additionally, on several occasions, while driving at various speeds the vehicle downshifted inadvertently. The vehicle was steered to the side of the road and restarted. The contact stated that the Auto START/STOP warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the transmission control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

  6. Engine, May 1, 2024

Engine oil cooler cracked allowing oil to be leaked onto the ground, all over vehicle, and also back flowing into the radiator. This is a know problem due to the fact that oil cooler is plastic. This issue is a potential fire hazard and could contaminate the ground. The issue is hard to locate.

  7. Power train, Apr 30, 2024

Received a 'Service 4WD' message this week. Shortly after, the car would not accelerate in coordination with the accelerator. ODB-II code shows that the PTU unit needs to be replaced. I am unsure as to why the vehicle date of manufacture limits my vehicle from participating in recall 23V302. Please expand or add a new recall to cover all affected vehicles?

  8. Other or unspecified, Apr 26, 2024

Car keep having warning messege unable to start was told by different they are aware of this problem and car keep stalling out

  9. Electrical system, Service brakes, Apr 22, 2024

When in stop and go traffic, and in a stopped position at the time the screen flash parking brake and the car was unable to move forward. Had to put the car in park, and back into drive before it was able to move. The other incident occurred when the vehicle was backing up, and the accelerator was being pushed the car slammed on the brakes and said parking brake again on the screen. The car does have rear collision warning, however it does not brake automatically. Incident is not able to be reproduced and was inspected by a Jeep dealership which found no issues. Car does not show any additional symptoms.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the failure could not be duplicated. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 75 MPH, the vehicle decelerated unintendedly and failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull to the side of the road. The contact attempted to resume normal driving, but the vehicle failed to respond while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was diagnosed by a nearby transmission mechanic, who determined that the transfer case had failed, and the failure was related to an unknown recall. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the Power Transfer Unit (PTU) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and several cases were opened. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.

  11. Engine, Apr 18, 2024

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine, yes. has not been repaired yet While driving on the freeway between Phoenix and Flagstaff at around 75mph (speed limit). The engine completely failed causing me to have to pull over to the side of the road on a hill, luckly there was enough of a shoulder on the road to pull off safely and await a tow. Car would not start after the engine failed. Upon towing the car to a dealership I was informed that they found metal through the engine and it will require the engine to be replaced. Engine type 2.0L turbo Milage: ~46k

  12. Other or unspecified, Apr 18, 2024

Car stalling while driving or turning happens when I come off the freeway has only happened twice but my engine stalls both times and it takes about 30 seconds to a minute for me to regain power to continue driving

  13. Engine, Apr 17, 2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at approximately 75 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a local independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that there was an oil leak into the engine causing two cylinders to fail. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 59,400.

  14. Power train, Apr 10, 2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle failed to restart. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed with power transfer unit (PTU) failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.

  15. Power train, Apr 4, 2024

Rear differential cracked and ring falling off. It was noticed when vehicle was receiving a wheel alignment. My safety was put at risk because if ring fell off while driving my car would not move. Issue was confirmed by Goodyear and Burritt Motor Jeep dealer. Differential was replaced today 4/4/24. Was told by both establishments that this is an issue with the vehicles and have repaired several.

  16. Steering, Apr 4, 2024

I own a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. While driving approximately 50-60 MPH, the steering wheel was pulling to the right and the left. The movement occurs often while driving over 50 mph requiring tight control of steering wheel. Vehicle evaluated by mechanic and unable to reproduce the movement and no recalls on this at this time, looks to be a common issue with this vehicle. No warning light illuminated, mileage at time of initial problem was 36,000.

  17. Electrical system, Wheels, Service brakes, Apr 4, 2024

This is a known issue with Jeep. But they refuse to repair it at no cost. My emergency brake has become corroded due to water leaking into the module and from time to time the emergency brakes will get stuck to the point my car will not move. This recently happened last night when my vehicle was parked in the garage. I had recently been driving through a major rain storm. And upon trying to use my vehicle the next day... The emergency brakes would not release. My mechanic brought his computer over and verified the check engine light was related to the emergency brakes not releasing. This is a definite safety hazard! I have also noticed that certain safety features are being disabled due to the emergency brake not working properly. For example if I leave my Jeep in drive and open the door the emergency brakes should automatically engage disabling roll away. This feature no longer works. Another future, if my driver seat seat belt was not buckled my emergency brake would engage. This is no longer working. I am very concerned about this. There are countless other reports of emergency brake errors. Please issue a recall!

  18. Electrical system, Apr 2, 2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while making left and right turns, the battery warning light illuminated, and the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

  19. Power train, Apr 2, 2024

On the date of 4/1/ 20 24 While driving the vehicle in normal conditions it lost power and the steering would not work correctly making a loud noise coming from the front end in addition to that an indicator light came on the dash SVC 4WD. I pulled to the side of the road and shut off the engine To look under the Vehicle I did not see any damage I got back in the vehicle and started it and drove fine for a few more Miles The same indicator light SVC4 wheel drive kept coming On and off So I pulled in to the nearest Auto-repair garage they could not look at it that day they said they would check it first and then in the morning. 8 AM the next morning on 4/2/2024 they put it up on the left and diagnosed That the PTU had failed I needed to be replaced This is the code number he gave me for the fault....1.C14A7-97:97PTU MOTOR COMPONENT OR SYSTEM OPERATION OBSTRUCTED OR BLOCKED

  20. Air bags, Forward collision avoidance, Mar 28, 2024, crash

Was involved in a t-boned accident where the front end of my jeep stuck a vehicle in the side. The collision sensor did not activate nor did the air bags deploy. The other vehicle involved had airbags that deployed. The jeep is at my residence for inspection. With airbags not performing properly (faulty) this did not keep the upper body from jilting forward which causes head and shoulder issues. Insurance has not investigated neither did police. There was no warning lights or messages indicating that there was a problem prior to the accident.

  21. Power train, Electrical system, Engine, Mar 27, 2024

I took my vehicle to a local dealership to have the "auto stop start" system checked. I had a dashboard warning light indicating the system was not working correctly. No other warnings signals were displayed. The dealership performed a diagnostic check but found no problems with the "auto start stop system". The day after I picked up my car, I drove for ten miles and the car overheated. I contacted the dealership and was told to check radiator fluid and drive the car back if possible. I found no radiator fluid in the car. My car required a full engine replacement and several subsequent repairs to exhaust system and driveshaft. An engine can overheat and seize which can cause drivers to lose control and crash. Please note: The original engine was part of recall for oil consumption. Prior to the recall update, I experienced stalling in traffic without warning due to the engine recall.

  22. Power train, Mar 25, 2024

The contact owns a 2019 Jeep Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the “Service 4WD” warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond as intended. In addition, the fuel economy mileage decreased. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed power train unit. The contact was informed that the power train unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 68,790.

  23. Electrical system, Engine, Mar 25, 2024

The engine is stalling while driving and the battery warning will flash across the screen. The battery is not the issue. It was purchased in the last year and has plenty of life left.

  25. Power train, Engine, Mar 22, 2024

While driving along, my jeep will suddenly lose all power, making it necessary to stop, place it in park, press my foot on the brake and re-start. There is absolutely no warning, no chugging or hesitation, it just dies. This is random and has occurred 4 times now. There has not seemed to be a pattern. The first time, I left my dooryard and within a couple hundred feet, it happend. The second time, I had been driving about a mile and it happened, the third time I had driven about 3 miles and it happend and this last time (this morning)my vehicle had been running idle for about 15 min, I drove about 5 miles and it just suddenly died. All of these events occurred without any kind of warning.
