  1. Power train, Aug 7, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION COOLER AND AN UNKNOWN WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TETERBORO CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (LOCATED AT 469 US-46, LITTLE FERRY, NJ 07643) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 59534039. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.

  2. Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 1, 2019

I BOUGHT THE CAR IN A DIFFERENT STATE AND EVER SINCE I BOUGHT IT I'VE HAD FUEL PUMP SYMPTOMS. CAR STOPS GETTING FUEL TO IT AND WANTS TO SHUT OFF. NOW IT WON'T SHIFT GEARS WITHOUT SHUTTING OFF, IT ISN'T GETTING ANY FUEL TO IT AT ALL EVEN THOUGH THERE IS FUEL IN THE GAS TANK. I WENT TO GET GAS BECAUSE MY GAS LIGHT CAME ON. I SHUT MY CAR OFF TO PUMP GAS. WHEN I WAS FINISHED I WENT TO TURN MY CAR BACK ON AND IT SPUTTERED AND SHOOK AND DIDN'T WANT TO STAY ON. I TRIED TO PUT IT IN DRIVE AND MOVE AWAY FROM THE GAS PUMP AND IT WOULDN'T HARDLY MOVE. IT WAS REAL JUMPY (KIND OF LIKE A CAR OUT OF GAS) I WOUND UP HAVING TO GET IT TOWED HOME. ME AND MY FIANC LOOKED UP POSSIBLE PROBLEMS AND FOUND THAT MY MODEL OF JEEP HAD RECALLS FOR FAULTY WIRING FOR THE FUEL PUMP FUSE AND I WANT TO KNOW IF THERE'S SOMETHING I CAN DO TO RESOLVE MY PROBLEM. I HAVEN'T EVEN HAD MY CAR FOR 6 MONTHS YET.

  3. Power train, Jul 30, 2019

TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAK COMING FROM A/C CONDENSER/TRANSMISSION COOLER. SIGNIFICANT LEAKAGE LEADING TO POOR TRANSMISSION PERFORMANCE SUCH AS SLIPPAGE AND VEHICLE JERKING ON ACCELERATION OR DECELERATION. ALSO JERKS WHEN PUTTING INTO GEAR FROM PARK.

  4. Air bags, Service brakes, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 28, 2019

JEEP TURNS OFF AND WON'T TURN ON FOR HOURS THEN IT TRUED ON

  5. Engine, Jul 26, 2019

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY ON 7/21/19 AND MY 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE'S ENGINE SEIZED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED AND NOW JEEP HAS A 2 MONTH WAITING LIST FOR THE HEMI MOTOR (WHICH APPARENTLY THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR - THAT IS WHY THE WAITING LIST IS SO LONG). IT WILL BE OVER $8000 TO FIX AND I STILL OWE ON THE LOAN FOR THE CAR THAT I HAVE HAD LESS THAN 3 YEARS. IF HEMI MOTORS ARE A PROBLEM, JEEP SHOULD MAKE THEM WITH V6 NOT THE HEMI V8 MOTORS. THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS AS OF NOW. I AM STUCK WITHOUT A VEHICLE TO GET TO WORK AND A LARGE LOAN FOR A USELESS JEEP THAT I CAN'T DRIVE. IT HAS 90,000 MILES ON IT. WHY IS JEEP ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO MAKE THESE IF THEY ARE SUCH ISSUES. WHY IS THERE NOT A RECALL ON HEMI ENGINES IN JEEPS? THEN WHEN YOU TRY TO CALL JEEP CORPORATE THEY CLAIM THEY RETURN CALLS ONCE A WEEK (WHICH THEY DON'T) AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS TOLD ME "THING HAPPEN". THIS IS A TERRIBLE WAY OF DOING BUSINESS AND AS A JEEP OWNER FOR MANY MANY YEARS I WILL NEVER BUY A JEEP AGAIN. HOPEFULLY THIS HAPPENS ENOUGH THAT THEY WILL NEED TO DO A RECALL AND I CAN RECOUP SOME OF MY MONEY BACK.

  6. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 25, 2019

AFTER FAILING INSPECTION IT WAS IN SHOP 6 WEEKS FOR REPAIR BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED! IT MISSES MORE THAN EVER, MOST OFTEN DURING IDLE & HAS DIFFICULTY STARTING AT TIMES & YOU CAN SMELL GAS SOMETIMES MAKING ME FEAR IT WILL CATCH FIRE.

  7. Steering, Jul 24, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE POWER STEERING FAILED AND THE STEERING WHEEL BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION. UPON INSPECTION, THE OWNER DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID LEAKED FROM THE POWER STEERING PUMP. ONE STEP AUTO CHRYSLER OF FORT WALTON (541 MARY ESTHER CUT OFF, FORT WALTON BEACH, FL) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER WENT BAD 6 MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE HWY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON I TOOK IT BACK TO JEEP THEY TOLD ME $2300 TO FIX IT. AND I HAD JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE 6 MONTHS PRIOR

  9. Power train, Engine, Jul 23, 2019

I HAVE LESS THAN 76K MILES ON MY JEEP. I HAVE BEEN THE ONLY OWNER, TAKING EXCEPTIONAL CARE OF MY JEEP, ALWAYS GETTING OIL CHANGES ON TIME AND MAINTENANCE WITH VERY FEW CITY MILES ON MY JEEP AND I AM HAVING TO PAY 10K FOR A NEW MOTOR AND CAMSHAFT.

  10. Steering, Service brakes, Engine, Jul 19, 2019

I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND IT COMPLETELY SHUTS OFF UNEXPECTEDLY. WHEN IT DOES IT AFFECTS BOTH THE BRAKING AND THE STEERING. THE FIRST TIME I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND WAS AN EASY FIX BUT THE 2ND TIME I WAS GETTING OFF AN EXIT AROUND 50 MPH. I HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN AND NOW I AM SCARED TO DRIVE THEM AROUND IN IT. I KNOW IN NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS IS HAPPENS, THERE'S COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE DIES.

  11. Engine, Jul 17, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE DRIVING, THE ENGINE SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GUIDE THE VEHICLE TO THE SHOULDER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO YARK CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM FIAT (6019 CENTRAL AVE, TOLEDO, OH 43615, (419) 877-7712) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AT 95,000 MILES. THE FAILURE RECURRED, BUT THE CONTACT HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH THE DEALER AGAIN. THE CONTACT RESEARCHED THE FAILURE AND FOUND THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

  12. Power train, Jul 11, 2019

AN UNINTENTIONAL SHIFTING OF THE TRANSFER CASE THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE ITS ON AND CANT TAKE IT OFF, ALL STARTED WITH THE VEHICLE BEEN STATIONARY.

  13. Steering, Jul 3, 2019

THE FIRST TIME MY POWER STEERING WHEN OUT I HAD STOPPED TO DO SOMETHING. GOT BACK IN MY JEEP AND THOUGHT I HAD A FLAT BECAUSE IT WAS SO HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL. GOT OUT TO LOOK AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE. GOT BACK IN, DROVE IT AROUND A NEIGHBORHOOD STREET AND STEERING RETURNED TO NORMAL. HAD A MECHANIC TOP OFF THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND WAS FINE FOR MONTHS. YESTERDAY WAS LEAVING TO GOT TO THE STORE AND JUST BEFORE I GOT OUT ONTO A BUSY HWY THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. THIS TIME I COULD NOT BUDGE IT. I CALL MY MECHANIC FRIEND. BY THE TIME HE GOT THERE THE STEERING WAS NORMAL AGAIN. HE CHECKED THE LEVEL AND WAS FINE. IF I HAD GOTTEN OUT ONTO THE HWY AND THIS HAPPENED I WOULD HAVE BEEN A SITTING DUCK. THIS IS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE WITH 80,000 MILES ON IT.

  15. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 1, 2019

MY JEEP HAS AN IGNITION/STARTING PROBLEM. IT WILL TRY TO START BUT JUST KEEPS TURNING OVER. AFTER 10 SECONDS IT WILL STOP THEN IT WILL USUALLY START AFTER. ONLINE IT SAYS THE TIMP COULD BE THE PROBLEM.

  16. Electrical system, Jul 1, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME AND PARKED, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TEST, BUT WAS UNABLE TO RETRIEVE A FAULT CODE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TOTALLY INTEGRATED POWER MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V115000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. *BF *AS

  17. Suspension, Structure, Jun 28, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A STOP, AN ABNORMAL NOISE WAS HEARD FROM THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO ROCHESTER HILLS CHRYSLER JEEP DODGE RAM (1301 S ROCHESTER RD, ROCHESTER HILLS, MI 48307, (248) 652-9650) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FLOORBOARD NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE FRONT PIPE NUTS BOTH PULLED OUT OF THE REAR CROSS MEMBER, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

  18. Air bags, Jun 28, 2019

MY AIR BAG LIGHT RANDOMLY LIGHTS UP AND GOES AWAY AND SOMETIMES IT CHIMES WHEN IT POPS UP AND SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. HERE RECENTLY, IT HAS DECIDED TO STAY ON. THERE IS NO CODE IF IT IS SCANNED. I DEFINITELY THINK THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE IF I WAS TO ACCIDENTALLY WRECK, I DON'T KNOW IF THEY WOULD ACTUALLY WORK OR NOT AS MUCH AS THE LIGHT COMES AND GOES.

  19. Electrical system, Electronic stability control (ESC), Service brakes, Jun 28, 2019

I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE LIGHTS POP UP ON MY DASH, USUALLY AFTER IT RAINS, BUT ONCE FOR NO REASON. I WILL BE DRIVING ANYWHERE FROM 20-65MPH AND THE LIGHTS WILL JUST POP UP. (ABS, BRAKE, AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS) ONCE I TURN MY JEEP OFF AND BACK ON, IT DISAPPEARS. BUT WHEN THE LIGHTS ARE SHOWN, MY JEEP DRIVES A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY.

  20. Vehicle speed control, Jun 28, 2019

MY ACC SENSOR WILL NOT CONNECT THEREFORE MY CRUISE CONTROL DOES NOT WORK, LEAVING USELESS BUTTONS ON MY STEERING WHEEL. WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE WHOLE SYSTEM. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WHILE THEY WERE DOING RECALL WORK, THEY CHECKED IT. SAID I WOULD HAVE TO BUY THE $2,000+ ACC UNIT AND THEN IT WOULD PROBABLY BE $1,000+ LABOR AND THEN HOWEVER MUCH IF THEY HAVE TO REPLACE WIRES OR ANYTHING ELSE. I JUST WANT MY CRUISE TO WORK, I DON'T CARE IF THE DISTANCE PART WORKS. WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER IT AND I'M SURE I NO LONGER HAVE ANY FACTORY WARRANTY LEFT ON MY VEHICLE.

  21. Steering, Wheels, Engine, Jun 28, 2019

MY VEHICLE HAS DECIDED TO START BOGGING AROUND 35MPH. IT HAS CONTINUALLY DONE THIS FOR A WEEK AND HAS DECIDED TO START DRIVING HORRIBLE. IT DOES NOT DRIVE LIKE IT HAS BEEN. WE ARE GOING TO CHECK WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE SUNDAY (7/7/2019) AND ATTEMPT TO FIX. MY JEEP IS NO LONGER COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.

  22. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Jun 28, 2019

MY ENGINE LIGHT HAS DECIDED TO LIGHT UP IN MY JEEP RANDOMLY ONE DAY AFTER STARTING IT. AFTER SCANNING IT, IT SHOWS CODE P0522. THE RESEARCH I HAVE DONE HAS SHOWN IT USUALLY SHOWS THE OIL LIGHT WHEN IT IS THAT CODE. SO AS A RESULT, I HAVE HAD MY OIL CHANGED AGAIN AND I HAVE ORDERED A OIL PRESSURE SENSOR/SENDER HOPING THAT WILL FIX ALL MY PROBLEMS WHICH WILL BE INSTALLED NEXT SUNDAY (7/7/2019). I ALSO HAD TO CHANGE THE WATER PUMP BECAUSE IT HAD A CRACK IN IT, THE THERMOSTAT JUST FOR PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES, AND THE BELT BECAUSE IT HAD A TEAR IN IT ABOUT HALF THE SIZE OF THE WIDTH. ALL OF THIS TO TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT AND THE SCANNER SHOWING THE CODE P0522. SO WE WILL SEE IF THAT ACTUALLY FIXES THE PROBLEM.

  23. Electrical system, Jun 28, 2019

TAKATA RECALL TIPM CORROSION/FAILURE. TO DATE, MULTIPLE FUSES HAVE BLOWN RESULTING IN SYSTEM FAILURE AND NEEDED REPLACING. I WAS ADVISED DUE TO THE SUBSTANTIAL AMOUNT OF CORROSION IN THE TIPM MODULE, THE RESULT MAY LEAD TO SYSTEM WIDE SHORT AND POSSIBLE FAILURE OF ALL ELECTRONIC SYSTEMS.

  24. Suspension, Electrical system, Electronic stability control (ESC), Jun 27, 2019

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM A PROBLEM BETWEEN SIGNAL LIGHTS AND THE RADIO, WHEN THE SIGNALS ARE USE THE RADIO GOES OFF??? LIFT SUSPENSION SYSTEM OPERATE BY ITSELF, UP AND DOWN ON HIS OWN, AND THAT PROBLEM PREVENTS FOR THE SUV TO BE ALIGNED; ALSO THERE IS A SHAKING ON STEERING WHEEL WHEN ABOVE 55MPH.
