  1. Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 31, 2026

CRITICAL VEHICLE SAFETY COMPLAINT - CHRONIC MULTI-SYSTEM DEFECTS The vehicle is a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe operating under severe chronic safety non-compliance. The vehicle has an active, un-remedied engine block casting sand contamination fire/loss of propulsion and crash risk (FCA 78C / NHTSA 25V-766) listing 'Parts Unavailable.' It also carries an open side-curtain airbag deployment failure recall (NHTSA 26V-328). Furthermore, the vehicle experiences intermittent climate control and HVAC failures where the heating, air conditioning, and windshield defroster loops completely disable while in motion on the highway. This directly mirrors the safety vulnerabilities detailed in federal recall 24V-111 (FCA 04B), where faulty hybrid control processor software leaves the front windshield defogger inoperable. When this occurs, the windshield instantly fogs over at high speeds, resulting in an unrecoverable, immediate loss of forward visibility. In addition, temperatures in the summer are between 100 and 120 degrees. Having no air conditioning during this time is a health and safety concern. Dealership technicians state they 'cannot replicate' the issue, forcing me to operate a vehicle that routinely violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 571.103. Operating this highly volatile hybrid asset on a regular 4.5-hour remote highway commute to act as a caregiver for an elderly parent presents a life-threatening environment. The vehicle is a severe liability threat due to active fire and crash risk, structural airbag failure, and sudden visibility blinding.

  2. Engine, Aug 17, 2026

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V766000 (ENGINE); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

  3. Electrical system, Engine, Aug 3, 2026

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was losing traction and was shifting very rough while in hybrid mode. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); and the vehicle was repaired in February; however, the repair failed to prevent the failure. The contact stated that while using the gas engine feature, the engine was running rough and sounded as if the engine was struggling, and the vehicle nearly stalled. The contact received a second notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V766000 (Engine); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The dealer was notified of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 36,028.

  4. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 26, 2026

Since Nov 2025 there has been a recall with still no remedy for repair. The recall is a huge safety risk regarding the hybrid battery worrying me about it exploding or catching on fire as it warns me to not charge it in my garage and be careful charging it which is the only reason I purchased this hybrid.

  5. Electrical system, Engine, May 3, 2026

The vehicle loss drive power in the middle of driving several times back to back, a red wrench and a message saying to service hybrid system warning appeared. Purchased used in September 2025, had open recall fixed and later recall fixed after in early 2026.

  6. Electrical system, Engine, Apr 27, 2026

High Voltage Battery (hybrid battery) has excessive drain when parked. This was noticed after completing the 68C recall. In any temperature it drains 8-12% over 12 hours. I noticed it happening when it was 65-75 degrees, so not hot and not cold. I brought it in for a repair once, it spent 3 weeks at the dealership and was claimed fixed but it's still doing it. It is known problem on the forums as well after the 68C recall. No warning lights.

  7. Power train, Electrical system, Engine, Apr 24, 2026

I am filing a formal safety complaint regarding my hybrid Jeep vehicle due to ongoing and unresolved safety issues that present a significant risk to myself and others. Since the beginning of ownership, I have experienced repeated and escalating problems with the vehicle, including: * Hybrid system malfunction warnings and persistent red wrench indicator * Aggressive and unsafe gear shifting while driving * Vehicle stalling unexpectedly * Vehicle intermittently failing to turn on or shut off properly In addition to these critical concerns, my vehicle has been under Recall 68C since October 2025. To date, there has been no available remedy provided. I have been explicitly instructed not to park the vehicle in a garage or near structures and to avoid charging the vehicle due to an increased risk of fire. This situation has created significant hardship and safety concerns. I am unable to safely use or store my vehicle as intended. I have also been informed that potential fire damage related to this issue may not be covered by homeowners insurance, further increasing the risk and liability I am being forced to assume. Despite repeated attempts to address these issues through proper channels, including dealership service visits and manufacturer communication, no resolution has been provided. This vehicle poses a clear safety hazard due to: * Risk of fire associated with the hybrid battery system * Unpredictable stalling and drivetrain behavior while in operation * Lack of manufacturer remedy for an active safety recall I am requesting immediate investigation, accountability, and corrective action to ensure the safety of consumers affected by this issue

  8. Power train, Engine, Back over prevention, Apr 10, 2026

The rear parking collision warning abruptly stopped working. The engine smells like it’s burning. The recall 68c has no remedy currently. My neighborhood is at risk due to this outstanding issue.

  9. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Mar 27, 2026

Unknown what actually occurs but the entire car shuts off while driving. It has happened to me twice in traffic. Once no warnings, the second time the tire pressure sensor fault flashed went away and then the entire car just shut down while I was driving. I had my child with me and was a scary moment could’ve cause a serious accident or potential death. Car was stuck in the road for over 30min before I could get it to restart and move to a safer location.

  10. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 24, 2026

I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden my gas pedal stopped propelling the car and the engine seemed to be off. I looked at the dash board and saw that the car was indicating it was off and that I needed to step on the brake and hit the ignition button to turn it back on. I barely had control of the car but was able to pull off to the side of the road. I then had to wait several minutes for the car to respond and turn back on. This has happened in the past to me with this car but this is the first time I knew I could report it here. This is a terrible vehicle and I’ve had nothing but safety issues with it since I leased it.

  11. Electrical system, Engine, Mar 11, 2026

Battery failure upon diagnostic at dealer per recall 68c. I had no issues with the car prior to bringing it into the dealer for the recall. The car has now been at dealer for over 11weeks. Neither dealership nor Stellantis is providing update on ETA for when battery will be ready and recall addressed.

  12. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 11, 2026

I am submitting this complaint regarding a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe that has been subject to multiple safety recalls involving the high-voltage battery system and a risk of fire or explosion. The manufacturer, Stellantis, issued safety instructions advising owners not to charge the vehicle and not to park the vehicle in garages or near structures or other vehicles due to the potential fire risk. It says "Sand from the casting process can contaminate internal engine components, leading to a catastrophic engine failure, which can result in a vehicle fire or an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of propulsion. These instructions significantly restricted the normal use of the vehicle and created serious safety concerns. I have young kids Additionally, the recall notice stated that a remedy for the defect was not available for an extended period of time. Despite the seriousness of the defect and the safety warnings issued, the vehicle remained without a repair solution for months.Jeep has now discontinued the vehicles altogether with no solution for the vehicle. Due to these conditions, the vehicle could not be safely operated or used for its intended purpose. The unresolved safety defect effectively rendered the vehicle unsafe and unusable. I am requesting that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration review this matter and the impact that these unresolved safety defects have had on vehicle owners. I believe the situation raises significant safety concerns regarding vehicles that remain in use while a dangerous defect exists without an available remedy. Please let me know if additional documentation is required. I am willing to provide recall notices, written manufacturer communications, and other supporting documentation. 13. Electrical system, Service brakes, Engine, Mar 5, 2026, crash

On February 28, 2026, while preparing to leave our home with our two children in the vehicle, we experienced a critical vehicle malfunction. Upon attempting to start the car, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, including transmission error, “service needed,” and “automatic emergency braking system needs service.” The battery warning light was also on. The vehicle would not start initially. After eventually starting the car, we temporarily placed it in neutral and pushed it out of the garage, during which the brakes functioned normally. The vehicle was briefly driven and appeared operational, but due to ongoing safety concerns and multiple recalls, we parked it at the top of our driveway. On the following day, the vehicle would not start again. We arranged for it to be towed to the dealership. On March 2, 2026, when the tow truck arrived, the car’s position prevented loading onto the truck. Multiple jump-start attempts failed initially, then briefly started the vehicle, but it immediately shut off again. We placed the vehicle in neutral using the manual override and tested the brakes, which initially showed stiffness but were operational. While attempting to move the vehicle to allow tow truck access, the brakes suddenly failed. Despite pressing the brake pedal fully and brake lights being illuminated, the vehicle did not stop and rolled uncontrollably into our garage. Consequences: •Garage property damage: approximately $11,000 •Personal injury: my father-in-law fell while the vehicle rolled out of control •Vehicle remains at dealership with an open case, but the situation remains unresolved Safety Concern: This incident raises serious safety concerns regarding the reliability of the braking system and vehicle electronics. The vehicle became uncontrollable while brakes were applied, posing a direct risk of injury or death to occupants and others. We fear that similar failures could occur under normal driving conditions, including highway speeds.

Waited for of a month from the time I called for service for Jeep to address recall High-Voltage Battery Fire Risk NHTSA Campaign: 25V741 / Manufacturer Recall 68C Upon leaving the service department at Salerno & Duane jeep the issue was unresolved. Service tech was expecting the customer to pay for an added oil change due to the recall which should be the responiblity of Jeep.

The contact leased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notifications of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V766000 (Engine) and 25V741000 (Electrical System). The local dealer was contacted and completed the recall repair under NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V741000 (Electrical System); however, the second recall repair was still pending. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The contact had not experienced a failure.

My 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle is subject to multiple NHTSA safety recalls involving loss of propulsion and vehicle fire risk. These defects have created ongoing safety hazards and extended loss of use. Safety Recall 73C (NHTSA 25V-576) addresses a Hybrid Control Processor software defect that may cause sudden and unexpected loss of drive power without warning, increasing the risk of a crash. Safety Recall 78C (NHTSA 25V-766) involves potential contamination of the 2.0L engine from the casting process, which may result in catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unrecoverable loss of drive power. For an extended period, no remedy was available. Safety Recall 68C (NHTSA 25V-741) involves a High Voltage Battery defect that may lead to a vehicle fire. FCA instructed owners not to recharge the vehicle and to park away from structures or other vehicles. I have been unable to safely charge the vehicle for over six months and have been restricted from using my assigned covered parking due to fire risk. Despite multiple dealership visits for recall-related service, the vehicle has not been fully restored to safe, normal operation. No loaner or substitute transportation has been provided during safety-related repairs. These conditions significantly impair the safety, use, and value of the vehicle and create ongoing risk to occupants and surrounding property. I am submitting this complaint to document the safety issues and extended lack of an effective remedy.

  19. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Engine, Jan 21, 2026

There were no warning or check engine lights prior to the incidents below. Car was just serviced Nov 3rd 2025 for safety recall 25v-472 and 25v-576. 1st incident Dec 21, 2025: Driving 70mph on major busy interstate in MA and all of a sudden vehicle lost ALL power. It shut off completely. No lights, No warning. Had to coast over to R shoulder and wait several min before power restored. This was Very scary as traffic was heavy. 2nd incident occurred Jan 19, 2026 and was terrifying: I was driving on a curvy mountain 2 lane road at night. This road does not have much lighting. There are no shoulders or pull over lanes due to guardrails. Out of nowhere with no warning. Vehicle lost ALL power (including steering and ALL lights). Could not get out of road as everything shut off and steering locked. I had NO Lights (both internal and external) I Finally got flashers to work after a minute or so but had to sit there dead in the middle of the road on a curve praying no cars came around curve. Was able to restart after about a minute and a half! Called dealership today and they said there is no recall for “loss of power” and we will be taking it in for a $200 diagnostics test.

Engine shut off while driving on the highway. I was able to pull over onto the emergency lane. Headlights went off (night driving) along with the heated seat and steering wheel, but the radio remained on. After stopping I notice the emergency park break was on. Once I shut the off the emergency brake I was able to resume driving. The dealership was not able to duplicate or find the problem. They hope the update for a current recall problem will fix it.

  21. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 11, 2026

For the second winter (2 out of 2) this vehicle has entered FORM mode - Fuel Oil Refresh - and fails to operate as a hybrid car until- if last year was the indicator - Spring and warmer weather. Ostensibly due to running in electric mode for too long, FORM is an engine and fuel safety measure. Since this vehicle was under recall 68C until earlier this week and had not been operable in electric mode at all since September, this excuse fails demonstrably. It has been in FORM since the recall was completed. Having a Jeep in winter that is not operable in electric mode in snow and ice when the potential exists that gas mode doesn't function and the 24 "reserve" miles are not available in electric mode, poses a significant risk. Secondarily, in last winter and this, hybrid use is unavailable for months.

  22. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 6, 2026

Local Dealers are unable to resolve the recall on timely basis due lack of parts, lack of loaner or rental cars. Weather, sense of urgency. This is a serious safety recal of potential battery fire and suddenly stop while in motion. Need to do something!

  23. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 26, 2025

On approximately November 15th 2025, I took my 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xE In for a routine oil change and tire rotation to Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton , Ohio. Upon completion on the service I was told that there was a recall on my vehicle and I was not to park in my garage or plug the vehicle in due to risk of fire coming from the Hybrid Battery. I immediately called the service department at Fred Martin Super Store in Barberton Ohio to see if this recall was accurate. The Service Department Rep did confirm verbally that there was a recall and again NOT TO PARK IN MY GARAGE OR PLUG THE VECHILE IN DUE TO FIRE RISK. I was told the parts were not available to fix the problem at this time. This vehicle is not safe to have on or near my property and is not functioning the way it is intended. I have contacted Jeep multiple times and filed multiple grievances to ask for a vehicle buy out or a lease termination with out penalty and have been denied. This repair has not been done or remedied in a timely manner, and is still unsafe to have or drive.

The contact owns a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 25V741000 (Electrical System) and 25V766000 (Engine); however, the parts to do the recall repairs were not yet available. The local dealer was contacted, and the contact requested to trade the vehicle, but the request was denied because the vehicle was under recall. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and offered to reimburse the contact for vehicle rental expenses within a specific price range, but the price range that the manufacturer provided could not cover the rental expenses of a vehicle that could accommodate the contact. The contact had not experienced a failure.
