Recalls and investigations

  1. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchMay 28, 2020

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2018 Nissan Altima vehicles. If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released, there is an increased likelihood that the secondary hood latch may corrode over time.

Corrosion to the secondary latch may cause it to bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed. If the primary latch is inadvertently released again and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a stronger release spring in the hood release lever, a warning label near the secondary hood latch, and an Owner’s Manual addendum card with instructions on how to lubricate and maintain the secondary hood latch mechanism, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 30, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: Recall 16V-029 remains open for any unremedied 2013-2015 Altimas and this recall applies to all vehicles covered by 16V-029 even if those repairs have already been performed.

  2. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationDec 19, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima vehicles manufactured January 3, 2013, to July 29, 2013, 2015-2016 Rogue vehicles manufactured October 14, 2014, to August 12, 2016, and 2016 Maxima vehicles manufactured June 4, 2015, to August 19, 2015. An incorrect Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may have been installed in the front passenger seat. The incorrect ECU and seat combination may misclassify the front passenger seat occupant.

If the front passenger seat occupant is misclassified, the air bag may deploy incorrectly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU and update the OCS software free of charge. The recall began February 13, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  3. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationApr 26, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

  4. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchJan 22, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 6, 2012, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

These vehicles were previously included in recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116, however the previous remedy plan may not have been performed consistently to remove the safety risk. To correct this issue, Nissan will re-notify all affected owners and dealers will replace the hood latch with a new one, free of charge. The recall began on February 17, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall supersedes recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116.

  5. Air bags, frontalOct 20, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.

If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on November 30, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

  6. Fuel system, gasolineAug 4, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) notified the agency on July 31, 2015, that they are recalling certain model year 2016 Nissan Maxima vehicles manufactured February 10, 2015, to August 18, 2015. On October 14, 2015, Nissan expanded the recall to cover an additional 41,388 vehicles, including certain model year 2013-2015 Altima 3.5 vehicles equipped with a V6 engine manufactured March 30, 2012, to August 18, 2015 as well as the vehicles covered by the July 31, 2015 notification. In the affected vehicles, due to an improperly installed o-ring that may not have been seated correctly at the time of assembly, fuel may leak during a crash from the area where the fuel sending unit attaches to the fuel tank.

If fuel leaks from between the fuel sending unit and the tank, it may increase the risk of a fire in the event of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer ring between the fuel tank and the fuel sending unit. The recall began on September 28, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will be instructed to modify the bend angle of the hood actuation lever to eliminate potential interference with the hood inner panel. In addition, dealers will clean and lubricate the latch joint as needed. If significant corrosion is observed, the latch assembly will be replaced. This repairs will be performed free of charge. THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS HAVE DECREASED IN BRIGHTNESS AFTER APPROX CAR BEING 4-5 YEARS OLD & TODAY ARE PRACTICALLY NON EXISTENT. DEC 2019 I HAD TO HAVE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED WITH A HALOGEN SET OF LIGHTS BECAUSE NEW HEADLIGHT BULB DID NOTHING TO INCREASE VISIBILITY AT NIGHT. I'VE HAD TO RUN HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM & FOG LIGHTS FOR A FEW YEARS TO HAVE VERY LOW VISIBILITY. AT THIS TIME THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VIRTUALLY NON EXISTENT EXCEPT WHEN RUNNING ON HIGH BEAMS WHICH IS CAUSING A GREAT DANGER TO ME, MY HUSBAND & OTHER DRIVERS ON ROAD. NISSAN HAS STATED THEY'RE INVESTIGATING THE ISSUE WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS & DENIES ANY RESPONSIBILITY DUE TO CAR BEING IN WARRANTY OR RECALL ISSUED.

  2. Exterior lighting, Mar 1, 2021

HAVING ISSUE WITH LOW BEAN LIGHTS. I CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT. THIS PROBLEM IS NOT FIXABLE. THIS WILL BE MY THIRD HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. NISSAN IS NOT TAKING OWNERSHIP AND THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVER AT NIGHT UNLESS I TURN ON MY HIGH BEAMS.

  3. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Feb 20, 2021

REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES DUE TO DETERIORATION OF REFLECTORS. COMMON FAILURE ON THIS MODEL. NO NISSAN RECALL. SAFETY ISSUE WITH FAULTY LIGHTS. SINCE REPLACING BOTH ASSEMBLIES, HAVE HAD TO REPLACE A BULB TWICE. GOING TO THE DEALER AGAIN BECAUSE OF LIGHT FAILURE.

  4. Exterior lighting, Feb 20, 2021

THE DIM LIGHTS ARE SO VERY DIM THAT IT IS A HAZARD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHILE THE LIGHTS ARE ON DIM. THE BRIGHTS WORKS FINE. IT'S SEEMS THE ACTUAL LIGHT ITSELF WORKS FINE BUT THE SURROUND UNIT/CASING/PART THAT HOUSES THE DIM LIGHT HAS A TENDENCY TO TO WEAR OFF AND NOT REFLECT THE LIGHTS AS IT SHOULD. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS THE REASON FOR THE DIM LIGHTING. CHANGING BULB WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE DIM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM THAT CONTINUES TO GET WORSE. I DID PUT THE INCIDENT DATE AS 02/19/2021 BUT IS BEEN ONGOING AND DETERIORATING. IT MUCH MORE APPARENT ON DARK HIGHWAYS AS OPPOSE TO BRIGHTLY LIT CITY STREETS. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP SAID THE ONLY REMEDY IS TO CHANGE THE ENTIRE HEAD LAMP UNIT FOR AROUND $1000. IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS AN ISSUES WITH 2013-2015ISH NISSAN ALTIMAS. SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY WITH THIS ISSUE AND IT'S SUCH A HAZARD THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. REPLACING THE ENTIRE HEAD LAMP WITH A HEAD LIGHT WITH THE SAME ISSUES SEEMS TO BE A WASTE OF CONSUMER MONEY. FURTHER, IF NISSAN IMPROVED THE HEAD LAMP, THEN THEY KNOW THERE'S AN ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND ISSUE A RECALL ON THE DIM LIGHT HAZARD.

  5. Exterior lighting, Feb 17, 2021

I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IN 2015. INITIALLY THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FINE AND SEEMED COMPARABLE WITH MY PREVIOUS ALTIMA IT WAS A 2010. OVER THE COURSE OF THE PAST FOUR YEARS THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE DETERIORATED TO THE POINT THAT THEY NO LONGER PROJECT TO THE ROAD. I HAVE REPLACE THE BULBS AND SPENT AN ASTRONOMICAL AMOUNT OF MONEY INVESTING IN HIGH INTENSITY BULBS, WITH NO CHANGE. I WOULD BE BETTER OFF TAPING FLASHLIGHTS TO THE FRONT OF MY CAR, THIS VEHICLE IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE IN THE EVENING. I SEE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT RECOGNIZED THIS AS A RECALL HOWEVER THERE ARE HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER 4 PM UNTIL AT LEAST 7 AM.

  6. Exterior lighting, Feb 16, 2021, crash

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT OUTPUT IS SO TERRIBLE I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS AT DUSK OR NIGHT IN ORDER TO SEE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD FOR MYSELF AND OTHER DRIVERS. NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS AND FIX THIS PROBLEM IMMEDIATELY! I RAN INTO A POTHOLE RUINING MY TIRE AND RIM BECAUSE I COULD THERE WAS NOT ENOUGH LIGHT OUTPUT FOR ME TO SEE

  7. Exterior lighting, Feb 16, 2021

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS VERY DIM. CHANGED OUT HALOGEN BULBS TO LED BULBS AND THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE. INTERNET SEARCH RESULTS ARE THE REFLECTIVE MASTERIAL IN THE PROJECTORS IS WORN OFF. COME TO FIND OUT FROM MANY ONLINE FORUMS THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE. NISSAN SHOULD BE REPLACING THESE FOR THE SAFETY OF THERE CUSTOMERS!!

  8. Exterior lighting, Feb 11, 2021

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT, SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THE CONTACT CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER HERITAGE NISSAN (1500 VETERANS MEMORIAL HWY NE, ROME, GA 30161, (706) 291-1981) AND MADE THE DEALER AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 112,000.*DT DEALERSHIP TOLD THE CONSUMER THE REFLECTOR AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT BE REPLACED.*JB

  9. Exterior lighting, Feb 7, 2021

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SIMPLY DO NOT WORK. I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME AT FIRST THEN REALIZED THAT THIS IS A NATIONAL AND RECOGNIZED PROBLEM WITHIN THE NISSAN WORLD. USING THE HIGH BEAM IN PLACE OF THE LOW BEAM DOES NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AS THEY ARE NOT TRUE HIGH BEAM LIGHTS EITHER. THIS HAS TO BE A SAFETY ISSUE. NEW LIGHT BULBS DONT RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. WHY DONI HAVE TO PAY OVER $1000 TO FIX A NISSAN PROBLEM.

  10. Exterior lighting, Feb 1, 2021

RECENTLY PURCHASED VEHICLE THEN REALIZED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE PROPERLY

  11. Exterior lighting, Jan 30, 2021

THE LOW BEAMS LIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT UP THE ROAD. EVEN WHEN THE BULBS ARE REPLACED. THIS IS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN AT NIGHT. INTERSTATE DRIVING WITH LOW BEAMS IS VERY DANGEROUS

  12. Exterior lighting, Jan 28, 2021

PURCHASED A NEW 2013 ALITIMA ALMOST 8 YEARS AGO. ON JAN 17, 2021, AS I WAS DRIVING, OTHERS WERE HONKING THEIR HORNS AND AS I TURNED INTO A DIM STREET, I WASN'T ABLE TO SEE AHEAD OF ME. VERY SCARY AS I COULD HAVE HIT NEIGHBORS WHO ARE WALKING IN THE EVENING AFTER DARK. NO LONGER COMFORTABLE DRIVING AT NIGHT. DEALER SAID ALTHOUGH I PURCHASED THE GOLD PREFFERED EXTENDED WARRANTY, THAT THIS ISSUE IS NOT COVERED. I OPENED A CASE AT NISSAN CONSUMER COMPLAINTS AND THEY SAID SORRY BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND THE WARRANTY WON'T COVER IT. $1305.63 IS WAY TOO MUCH THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A SAFETY ISSUE.

  13. Exterior lighting, Jan 8, 2021

MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT IT IS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT WITHOUT MY BRIGHTS TURNED ON. RESEARCH HAS SHOWN ME THAT I AM ONE OF MANY EXPERIENCING THIS SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.

  14. Exterior lighting, Jan 7, 2021

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMPS ON THE VEHICLE FAILED TO FUNCTION AS DESIGNED CAUSING A VISIBILITY HAZZARD. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO NISSAN NORTH (8645 N. HIGH ST, COLUMBUS, OH 43235, (614)846-8100) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND BECAME WORSE OVER TIME. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 81,000.

  15. Exterior lighting, Jan 6, 2021

WHILE DRIVING WITH HEADLIGHTS ON THERE IS VERY LOW VISIBILITY, IT ALMOST APPEARS THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT ON AT ALL. WHEN SWITCHING TO THE HIGH BEAMS THEY APPEAR TO NOT BE AS BRIGHT AS NORMAL EITHER. THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM THAT I FEAR COULD LEAD TO A COLLISION DUE TO VERY LOW VISIBILITY.

  16. Exterior lighting, Jan 4, 2021

THE LOW BEAMS HAVE ARE HORRIBLE. VISIBILITY IS LESS THAN 100 FEET. BRIGHTS NEED TO BE USED CREATING AN EVEN MORE HAZARDOUS SITUATION.

  17. Exterior lighting, Air bags, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 4, 2021

HEAD LIGHTS ARE SO FUN LOOKS AS IF THEY ARE NOT ON, AIRBAG LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON EVEN WITH PASSENGER IN SEAT, BOTH AIR BAG LIGHTS ON DASK AND IN CONSOLE. DOESN'T MATTER IF CAR IS IN MOTION OR NOT COMPLETELY DANGEROUS

  18. Exterior lighting, Jan 3, 2021

THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE BARELY VISIBLE. PROVIDES ALMOST ZERO LIGHT ON THE ROAD. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHTS ON ALL THE TIME. HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS NUMEROUS TIMES AND RECENTLY LEARNED THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE 2013-2015 MODELS. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH LIGHTS THAT DO NOTHING.

  19. Exterior lighting, Jan 3, 2021

THE HEAD LIGHTS DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. HAVE BEEN REPLACED AND THEY STILL DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. I WAS TOLD THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A KNOWN ISSUE AND NEED TO BE RECALLED ON THE ALTIMA AND THAT NISSAN NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT. WHY HAD THIS NOT BEEN DONE? IT'S VERY UNSAFE. I JUST GOT THE ALTIMA AND IT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WHEN LIGHTS ARE NEEDED.

  20. Exterior lighting, Jan 1, 2021

THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY NISSAN ALTIMA ARE SO DIM THAT I CANNOT DRIVE SAFELY AT NIGHT. NOT ONLY ARE THE LOW BEAMS EXTREMELY DIM, THEY DO NOT PROJECT FAR DOWN THE ROAD AT ALL OR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEY ONLY SEEM TO PROJECT IN A SMALL AREA DOWN ON THE ROAD RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THUS CAUSING HUGE VISIBILITY PROBLEMS WHEN TRYING TO SCAN/SEE WHAT IS COMING UP IN FRONT OF ME. IT IS A HUGE DANGER FOR NIGHT DRIVING IF YOU CANNOT SEE WITH YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON!

  21. Exterior lighting, Equipment, Dec 29, 2020

THE HEADLIGHTS AND EXTERIOR LIGHTS ARE EXTREEMELY DIM ON THIS VEHICLE. SAFETY HAZARD, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT

  22. Exterior lighting, Dec 25, 2020

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS QUICKLY DETERIORATED WITHIN 1 YEAR AND NO LONGER ILLUMINATE THE ROADWAY AT NIGHT. UNSAFE TO OPERATE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT USING LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. IT IS LITERALLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE AT NIGHT USING THESE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I REPLACED ALL FOUR HEADLIGHT BULBS, LOW AND HIGH BEAM, AND THIS DID NOT MAKE ANY IMPROVEMENT IN LOW BEAM ILLUMINATION. THE PROBLEM IS IN THE HEADLIGHT ENCLOSURE ASSEMBLY (PROJECTOR/REFLECTOR ISSUE) WHICH MUST BE REPLACED WITH NEW AT A COST IN EXCESS OF $1,000 BECAUSE IT REQUIRES REMOVAL OF THE FRONT BUMPER COVER AND PLASTIC SPLASH LINER UNDER BUMPER COVER. THIS COMPLAINT IS FREQUENTLY MENTIONED BY OTHER 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS AND NISSAN HAS TO BE AWARE OF THE ISSUE DUE TO ITS COMMON OCCURRENCE AND FREQUENT COMPLAINTS BY OWNERS.

  23. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Visibility/wiper, Dec 23, 2020

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO USE DURING THE DARK AND TRIPLE THE CONCERN WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AND IT'S RAINING. THIS USED TO NOT BE THE CASE. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD!!! THIS HAPPENS WHETHER STREET DRIVING OR HIGHWAY DRIVING AND ESSENTIALLY MAKES ME HAVE TO USE THE BRIGHT LIGHTS WHEN THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO OTHER NATURAL LIGHTING TO HELP

  24. Exterior lighting, Dec 23, 2020

I BOUGHT CAR ON A SATURDAY MORNING. WENT OUT OF TOWN AND DROVE HOME LATE AT NIGHT. I WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS OF A BRAND NEW CAR. OVER THE PAST 8 YEARS THE BRIGHTNESS HAS DETERIORATED SO BAD MY WIFE WILL NOT DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT.

  25. Exterior lighting, Dec 21, 2020

I NOTICED IN NOVEMBER 1, 2019 THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE BECOMING INCREASINGLY DIM. THIS ISSUE HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE TO THE POINT THAT I HAVE TO TURN ON THE BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE AT NIGHT. THE DIM LOW BEAM LIGHTS CREATE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ON ALL TYPES OF ROADS. MY WORK AS A REGISTERED NURSE REQUIRES 12 HOUR SHIFTS, WHICH MEANS I LEAVE HOME WHEN IT'S DARK AND LEAVE WORK WHEN IT'S DARK. WHEN I QUESTIONED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, I WAS TOLD IT WAS A NISSAN DEFECT AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE TO CORRECT IT. I WAS ALSO TOLD I COULD REPLACE WITH AFTERMARKET PARTS, WHICH IS VERY EXPENSIVE. I WAS TOLD NOT TO REPLACE WITH NISSAN PARTS BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE THE SAME ISSUE SINCE THE DEFECT IS NISSAN. I CONTACTED NISSAN IN NASHVILLE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD NOTHING COULD BE DONE BECAUSE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. I WAS ONLY GIVEN AN OPTION TO ASK THE NISSAN DEALER FOR A DISCOUNT.
