Recalls and investigations

  1. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchMay 28, 2020

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2018 Nissan Altima vehicles. If the primary hood latch is inadvertently released, there is an increased likelihood that the secondary hood latch may corrode over time.

Corrosion to the secondary latch may cause it to bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed. If the primary latch is inadvertently released again and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a stronger release spring in the hood release lever, a warning label near the secondary hood latch, and an Owner’s Manual addendum card with instructions on how to lubricate and maintain the secondary hood latch mechanism, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 30, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Note: Recall 16V-029 remains open for any unremedied 2013-2015 Altimas and this recall applies to all vehicles covered by 16V-029 even if those repairs have already been performed.

  2. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationDec 19, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima vehicles manufactured January 3, 2013, to July 29, 2013, 2015-2016 Rogue vehicles manufactured October 14, 2014, to August 12, 2016, and 2016 Maxima vehicles manufactured June 4, 2015, to August 19, 2015. An incorrect Occupant Classification System (OCS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) may have been installed in the front passenger seat. The incorrect ECU and seat combination may misclassify the front passenger seat occupant.

If the front passenger seat occupant is misclassified, the air bag may deploy incorrectly in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the ECU and update the OCS software free of charge. The recall began February 13, 2017. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  3. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationApr 26, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

  4. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchJan 22, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 6, 2012, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

These vehicles were previously included in recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116, however the previous remedy plan may not have been performed consistently to remove the safety risk. To correct this issue, Nissan will re-notify all affected owners and dealers will replace the hood latch with a new one, free of charge. The recall began on February 17, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall supersedes recalls 14V-565 and 15V-116.

  5. Air bags, frontalOct 20, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.

If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on November 30, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

  6. Fuel system, gasolineAug 4, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) notified the agency on July 31, 2015, that they are recalling certain model year 2016 Nissan Maxima vehicles manufactured February 10, 2015, to August 18, 2015. On October 14, 2015, Nissan expanded the recall to cover an additional 41,388 vehicles, including certain model year 2013-2015 Altima 3.5 vehicles equipped with a V6 engine manufactured March 30, 2012, to August 18, 2015 as well as the vehicles covered by the July 31, 2015 notification. In the affected vehicles, due to an improperly installed o-ring that may not have been seated correctly at the time of assembly, fuel may leak during a crash from the area where the fuel sending unit attaches to the fuel tank.

If fuel leaks from between the fuel sending unit and the tank, it may increase the risk of a fire in the event of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install a retainer ring between the fuel tank and the fuel sending unit. The recall began on September 28, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  7. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchFeb 27, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 1, 2013, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed.

If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will be instructed to modify the bend angle of the hood actuation lever to eliminate potential interference with the hood inner panel. In addition, dealers will clean and lubricate the latch joint as needed. If significant corrosion is observed, the latch assembly will be replaced. This repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began March 31, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 14V-565.

Tires that are significantly over- or under-inflated may fail without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.

Sensors within the passenger Occupant Detection System (ODS) may have been manufactured out of specification. This may cause the system to malfunction and permanently suppress the passenger airbag.

If the vehicle is involved in a crash necessitating airbag deployment and the passenger airbag is suppressed, there may be an increased risk of personal injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ODS sensors and replace them as neccessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

I FIRST NOTICED IT DRIVING THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I FELT AS THOUGH THE FRONT TIRES WERE MOVING IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS AT THE SAME TIME AND THERE IS A METALLIC SOUND IN THE FRONT END (CAN ONLY HEAR WHEN YOUR NEXT TO BARRIERS OR BRIDGES ON THE HIGHWAY). THE CAR DRIFT IS SO BAD I FEEL I WILL BE PULLED OVER FOR DUI!!!! I WAS PLANNING A TRIP THAT WEEK TO TEXAS WITH MY GRANDCHILDREN AND I HAD ALREADY HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE AIRBAG LIGHT BEING ON SO I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER TO LOOK AT IT, THEY COULDN'T GET ME IN!!! I MADE MY TRIP ANYWAY AND IT WAS THE SCARIEST MOST DANGEROUS TRIP I HAVE EVER MADE!!!! I WAS ALL OVER THE HIGHWAY ON ANY STRAIGHTAWAY, THE SLIGHTEST WIND OR ANOTHER VEHICLE PASSING ME WOULD SEND ME INTO THE OTHER LANE. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO GET THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND ADVISED THEM TO TAKE THE CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND LISTEN FOR THE NOISE AS WELL AT OVERPASSES (WHEN YOU HAVE NOISE COMING BACK AT YOU) THE REP CAME OUT AND SAID THAT HIS TECH COULD NOT FIND ANY THING WRONG WITH THE CAR AND THAT IT DRIVES LIKE ALL OTHER ALTIMA'S! THIS IS NOT TRUE!! AND THEY SAID THEY NEVER HEARD THE NOISE, WHICH I FIND VERY HARD TO BELIEVE BECAUSE I HEAR IT ALL THE TIME! THE DRIVERSIDE FRONT-END SOUNDS LIKE A 10 YEAR OLD CAR WHEN IT HITS A BUMP IN THE ROAD OR PARKING LOT, LIKE ITS SHOCKS OR SOMETHING ARE BAD... I AM SOOOO DISAPPOINTED IN NISSAN AND WITH THE ALTIMA COMPLETELY, WHAT IS THE USE HAVING A BEAUTIFUL CAR WHEN IT IS A DANGER ON THE HIGHWAY!!!!!!!!!! I WILL POST ON ALL WEBSITES ABOUT THIS CAR! IT IS DANGEROUS!!! *TR

ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER GETTING THIS CAR I NOTICED A RATTLING NOISE COMING FROM THE SUNROOF ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE CAR. THE NOISE GOT MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN RUNNING OVER SOME SMALL BUMPS EVEN AT LOW SPEEDS. I TOOK THE CAR TO ROUTE 23 AUTO MALL SERVICE DEPARTMENT IN BUTLER, NJ; THE SAME DEALER WHERE I GOT THE CAR. HEADLINER REPLACED, HOWEVER NOISE REMAINED THE ISSUE WAS NOT ADDRESSED. CALLED AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE TO THE DEALER. NEW APPOINTMENT SET. 06/25/13 ? DEALER STATES THAT THE ISSUE WAS NOW FIXED, HOWEVER THE NOISE STILL REMAINED. DEALER BROKE PILLAR COVERS AND NOW THEY ARE NOT SITTING PROPERLY, PRESENTING A VERY DANGEROUS ISSUE. 7/10/2013 ? CALLED NISSAN'S NATIONAL CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM. CASE: [XXX]CREATED TO TRACK THESE ISSUES. SPOKE TO [XXX] AT EXTENSION [XXX]. SUGGESTED I GET A 2ND OPINION. 7/12/2013 ? LOW PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT FOR LEFT FRONT TIRE COMES UP. ADDED AIR. ISSUE CAME BACK AGAIN LATER IN THE DAY. ADDED AIR A SECOND TIME, ISSUE CORRECTED. 07/16/2013 ? TOOK CAR FOR SECOND OPINION TO RAMSEY NISSAN IN NEW JERSEY. DEALER VERIFIED COMPLAIN. DEALER NOTICED MISSING INSULATION AND BROKEN PILLARS. NOISE ISSUE SEEMS BE FIXED NOW. NEW PILLARS ON ORDER. 07/18/2013 ? LOW PRESSURE WARNING COMING FROM LEFT REAR TIRE. THIS IS A BRAND NEW CAR AND I FIND IT UNACCEPTABLE THAT I'M ENCOUNTERING ALL THESE ISSUES THIS EARLY. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR AND I'M NOW LEFT WONDERING WHAT ISSUE WILL BE NEXT. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY WHEN I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AS IT SEEMS THERE IS A NEW PROBLEM EVERY OTHER DAY. WHILE DRIVING ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WHILE SOMEONE IS RIDING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I NOTICE THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE SAME PROBLEM SO I TOOK IN TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL. THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RECOVER ANY CODES OR ABLE TO GET THE LIGHT TO COME ON, AND WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO FIX IT. NOW I'M STUCK WITH A VEHICLE THAT HAS A KNOWN AIRBAG ISSUE THAT I CAN'T GET FIXED. I DON'T WANT SOMEONE TO BE INJURED WHILE RIDING IN MY CAR. *TR

  5. Air bags, Jul 17, 2013

I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY CARS AIRBAGS. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TWICE TO TAKE MY CAR IN TO HAVE THIS RECALL TAKING CARE OF. THE FIRST TIME, THEY ( HERITAGE NISSAN IN ROME, GA) DID NOT HAVE THE PART. THAT WAS FRUSTRATING ENOUGH. NISSAN ISSUED A RECALL BUT DIDN'T HAVE THE PART TO FIX IT. TODAY I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO HERITAGE NISSAN AGAIN TODAY TO HAVE THIS RECALL FIXED. I WAS TOLD BY [XXX] "THEY DIDN'T HAVE TIME" REALLY? YOU DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO FIX A SAFETY RECALL ON MY CAR. I CALLED THE NISSAN CORPORATION AND WAS TOLD TO SIMPLY TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP.I DON'T HAVE ALL DAY TO BE RUNNING AROUND TRYING TO FIND SOMEONE TO FIX MY CAR. I DID NOT BUY MY CAR AT HERITAGE NISSAN ( BET YOU CAN'T GUESS WHY) BUT IT IS CLOSER TO MY HOUSE. NISSAN RECOMMENDED PYE NISSAN IN DALTON. I WOULD HAVE TO DRIVE AN HOUR FROM THERE TO HAVE IT FIXED. THIS IS RIDICULOUS. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS VERY LOOSE AND THAT MADE IT HARD TO KEEP THE VEHICLE STRAIGHT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED AN ALIGNMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3,250. *TR

NOTICED PROBLEM BACK IN JAN. CAR WOULD MAKE A BANGING NOISE & JOLT FORWARD WHEN COASTING TO A STOP. SAME PROBLEM ALSO OCCURS WHEN STOPPING AND GOING TO ACCELERATE AFTER STOP. HAVE TAKE CAR TO DEALER I PURCHASED IT AT 5 TIMES & WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG , THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE I WAS HAVING. ON JULY 11, 2013 THE TECHNICIAN TOOK THE CAR HOME & THEY FINALLY AND WAS ABLE TO DOCUMENT THE ISSUE WAS REAL AND NOW A NEW TRANSMISSION IS REQUIRED! IN DEC 2012 THERE WAS A RECALL DONE ON THE TCM THAT'S WHEN THE PROBLEM STARTED AFTER RECALL. *TR

WELL I HAVE DROPPED MY CAR OFF FOR THE 5TH TIME FOR THIS SAME ISSUE, THIS TIME THEY TOLD ME THEY REPLACED THE PASSENGER SENSOR, BUT COULD NOT GET IT TO RESET, SO THEY HAD TO ORDER ANOTHER SENSOR AND MY CAR SAT FOR 3 EXTRA DAYS BUT THEY INSTALLED THEM AND I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK ON JULY 5TH AND ON JULY 6TH THE LIGHT SHOWING MY PASSENGER AIRBAG IS OFF WAS ON WHILE AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. IHAVE TRIED TO HAVE NISSAN PURCHASE THE CAR BACK BUT LL THEY TELL ME IS THAT THEY DO NOT INTERPRET THAT MY CAR FALLS UNDER THE LEMON LAW BUT IN MY STATE IT IS IF I HAVE A PROBLEM REPAIRED 3 OR MORE TIMES AND THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURRING, OR A SAFETY ISSUE BEING REPAIRED ONCE AND IT IS STILL OCCURRING THEN IT WILL FALL UNDER IT, SO NOW I HAVE TO GO AND SPEND MORE TIME AND MONEY ON A LAWYER. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. IT IS ALSO OCCURRING IN THE NEW ROGUES. I HAVE HAD 2 SEPARATE ROGUE LOANER CARS AND THEY BOTH TOO HAVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG TURN OFF WHILE AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. I HAVE VIDEOS OF ALL THREE VEHICLES. *TR

THEY RESET THE SENSOR AND SAID THERE WAS NOTHING MORE THAT COULD BE DONE. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITH ANYONE SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. FRONT SEAT PASSENGER "AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT OPERATES INTERMITTENTLY WHEN MY WIFE (98 POUNDS) IS THE FRONT SEAT PASSENGER. NISSAN ENGINEERS AND TECHNICIANS STATED THAT THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ON OUR ALTIMA WAS "OPERATING AS IT HAD BEEN DESIGNED TO OPERATE". THIS IS AFTER REPLACING THE COMPUTER AND FRONT SEAT SENSORS WHICH WERE DETERMINED TO BE DEFECTIVE. IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT MY WIFE WAS MOVING AROUND AND THAT TRIGGERED THE LIGHT TO INTERMITTENTLY COME ON OR OFF. THIS IS NOT THE CASE, THE WARNING LIGHT CAN COME ON OR GO OFF WHILE MY WIFE IS SITTING PERFECTLY STILL IN THE SEAT. FRONT SEAT PASSENGER SAFETY IS VERY IMPORTANT, THAT IS WHY AIRBAGS ARE REQUIRED ON NEW VEHICLES. BECAUSE MY WIFE ONLY WEIGHTS 98 POUNDS SHE SHOULD BE PROTECTED WHEN IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THE CAR. THE CONSUMER AFFAIRS REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME THAT MY WIFE WOULD BE SAFER WITH NO AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. WITH THE LIGHT ON SOMETIMES AND SOMETIMES NOT, WHERE IS THE FRONT SEAT PROTECTION THAT THE ENGINEERS DESIGNED? *TR

  16. Steering, Jun 27, 2013

2013 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A VERY ANNOYING WHINING/WHISTLING NOISE. DEALER SAID THEY HEARD NOISE AND CHECKED OTHER CARS ON LOT AND THEY HAD SAME NOISE, THIS IS NORMAL. I'VE SEEN OTHERS COMPLAINING OF NOISE AND SOME SEEM TO BE GETTING RESOLUTION. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALER AND COMPLAINED AGAIN. TOLD ONCE AGAIN THIS IS NORMAL. NOISE IS VERY ANNOYING AND FOR THE MONEY SPENT ON NEW CAR EXPECT BETTER RESULTS. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THIS. *TR

2013 NISSAN ALTIMA THAT AT TIMES PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT IS ON EVEN THOUGH A 130LB PERSON IS SITTING IN SEAT. AFTER 4 OCCURRENCES AND SEEING A RECALL FOR SENSOR ISSUES I TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD MY CAR NOT PART OF RECALL AND THEY DID NOT FIND ANY COMPUTER CODES TO INDICATE A PROBLEM. THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. NO ACTIONS TAKEN. I AM CONCERNED ABOUT IS THE AIR BAG WORKING IF WE HAVE AN ACCIDENT. *TR

  18. Air bags, Jun 26, 2013

I PURCHASED THE CAR IN SEPTEMBER AND HAVE OBSERVED THAT WHEN THERE IS A PASSENGER IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND MAY OR MAY NOT GO OFF AFTER I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR A CONSIDERABLE PERIOD OF TIME. I HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE DEALER WHEN I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR IN FOR THE SCHEDULED TUNE-UP AND OIL CHANGES BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THE CAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. THEY HAVE SUGGESTED THAT IT MIGHT BE CAUSED BY INSUFFICIENT WEIGHT ON THE PASSENGER SEAT, BUT THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO TELL ME WHAT IS THE MINIMUM WEIGHT REQUIREMENT. I FIND THAT HAVING THE WARNING LIGHT ON IS VERY DISCONCERTING SINCE IT MAY BE INDICATING A SAFETY PROBLEM. *TR

  19. Air bags, Jun 25, 2013

MY "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" LIGHT COMES ON INTERMITTENTLY AS MANY OTHER USERS HAVE REPORTED. THIS HAPPENS WITH ADULTS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT BETWEEN 115-130LBS. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TWICE. THE FIRST TIME THEY DID A FACTORY RESET. THE PROBLEM DIDN'T GO AWAY. THE SECOND TIME, THEY TOLD ME IT WAS WORKING FINE EVEN THOUGH THE TECHNICIAN AGREED THE PROBLEM WOULD CONCERN HER TOO IF IT WAS HER CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

  20. Air bags, Jun 25, 2013

FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON WHILE A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES SINCE BUYING THE CAR ON 3/202013. 21. Air bags, Jun 21, 2013

SO I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM EVER SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF SWITCH TURNS ON WHILE AN ADULT IS SITTING IN THE SEAT AND CAR IS BEING DRIVEN. I HAVE BROUGHT IT IN FOR REPAIRS 4 SEPARATE TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THEY PERFORMED A "ZERO POINT" RESET. A FEW DAYS WENT BY AND IT DID IT AGAIN. I TOOK IT BACK 2 TIMES AFTER THAT AND THEY KEPT SAYING THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH I HAVE VIDEO OF IT ON MY PHONE. SO I TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP TO SEE WHAT THEY WOULD SAY ABOUT IT AND THE MANY OTHER PROBLEMS I AM EXPERIENCING. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 10 DAYS. I PERSONALLY SPOKE AND TEST DROVE WITH THE TECHNICIAN AND HE TOLD ME HE PERFORMED THE ZERO POINT RESET AGAIN. BUT WHEN I PICKED IT UP THE PAPERWORK ONLY STATES THAT THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND NO WORK WAS PERFORMED. BUT LAST NIGHT THE SAME NIGHT I PICKED IT UP IT DID IT AGAIN AND AGAIN I HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE OF IT SWITCHING OFF WHILE SITTING IN IT AND DRIVING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE, AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO MAKES NISSAN FIX IT. OH AND THE LOANER CAR WHICH WAS A 2013 NISSAN ROGUE DID THE SAME EXACT THING AND I HAVE 2 VIDEOS OF IT. *TR

RESUMING AFTER A STOP THE CAR WAS SLUGGISH. IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING. THERE WERE SEVERAL STRONG JERKING MOTIONS FOR A FEW SECONDS. THEN WHEN IT FULLY ENGAGED THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AT A HIGHER THAN EXPECTED SPEED. I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH REACTION TIME TO BRAKE AND I HIT THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT HAD HAPPENED AT THE TIME BUT SINCE THEN THE CAR HAS DONE THE SAME THING STARTING OUT FROM A STOP. IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIMES A WEEK. I HAVE TO LEAVE PLENTY OF DISTANCE BETWEEN ME AND THE CAR IN FRONT TO AVOID ANOTHER ACCIDENT. *TR
