Recalls and investigations

  1. Latches/locks/linkages, hood, latchJun 13, 2022

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Pathfinder vehicles. On certain Pathfinder vehicles, the secondary hood latch may malfunction and remain in the unlatched, unsecured, position when the hood is closed.

An unsecured hood could unexpectedly open while driving, obstructing the driver's view, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the bell crank assembly, free of charge. Owner letters were mailed March 26, 2025. Owners may contact Nissan's customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall are R22A2 R22A3 and R24B7.

  2. Exterior lighting, brake lights, switchJan 20, 2021

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2013-2015 Nissan Pathfinder vehicles. The location of the brake light switch may cause the brake light switch relay to repeatedly open and close. Overtime, this can cause the relay to stick in the "ON" position, with the brake lights remaining illuminated even when the brakes are not applied. Additionally, this may interfere with the brake-shift interlock, allowing the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "Park" position, without depressing the brake pedal.

Continual illumination of the brake lights can prevent other drivers from realizing the vehicle is actually slowing down, increasing the risk of a crash. With the brake override activated, the driver will not be able to accelerate normally, increasing the risk of a crash. The driver can shift the vehicle out of the "PARK" position without depressing the brake, allowing the vehicle to rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and, as necessary, either re-install the brake light switch or swap positions with the Automatic Speed Control Device (ASCD) switch; depending on the model year vehicle. In addition, the brake light relay will be replaced with a new one. All repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began March 1, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall PC786. Note: this recall supersedes 16V-380.

  3. Exterior lighting, brake lights, switchMay 31, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Pathfinder vehicles manufactured June 20, 2012, to June 13, 2013. The brake light switch may have been installed incorrectly causing the relay to make intermittent contact and repeatedly cycle. This may result in the relay remaining in the "ON" position, causing the brake lights to remain illuminated even when the brakes are not applied. Additionally, the brake light switch may interfere with the brake-shift interlock, allowing the driver to shift the vehicle out of the "Park" position, without depressing the brake pedal.

If the brake override is activated, the driver will not be accelerate normally, increasing the risk of a crash. If the brake lights remain illuminated, other drivers may fail to stop when the vehicle actually brakes, increasing the risk of a crash. If the driver inadvertently shift the vehicle out of the "PARK" position without depressing the brake, the vehicle may rollaway, increasing the risk of injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the brake light switch and, as necessary, replace the relay, free of charge. The recall began on July 25, 2016. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  4. Air bags, sensor, occupant classificationApr 26, 2016

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Nissan Maxima, 2013-2016 Nissan Altima, NV200, LEAF, Sentra, and Pathfinder, 2014-2016 Nissan NV200 Taxi, Infiniti QX60, QX60 Hybrid, and Q50 Hybrid, 2014-2017 Nissan Rogue and Infiniti Q50, 2015-2016 Nissan Murano, Murano Hybrid, and Chevrolet City Express, 2014-2015 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid, and 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

If the passenger frontal air bag does not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, the passenger is at an increased risk of injury.

Nissan will notify their owners. Chevrolet City Express owners will be notified by General Motors. Dealers will reprogram the Air Bag Control Unit (ACU) and OCS Electronic Control Unit (ECU) in Altima, Maxima, Murano, Rogue, and Sentra vehicles, and replace the OCS ECU in LEAF, NV200, NV200 Taxi, Pathfinder, Infiniti Q50, JX35, and QX60 and Chevrolet City Express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on May 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669, Infiniti customer service at 1-888-833-3216 or Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020.

  5. Air bags, frontalOct 20, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Altima and Pathfinder vehicles, 2013-2014 Nissan Sentra vehicles, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles, 2014-2015 Infiniti QX60 vehicles and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles. The affected vehicles received an incorrect occupant classification system (OCS) control unit during a repair. These OCS control units may incorrectly classify the front passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult.

If the OCS does not detect an adult occupant in the passenger seat, the passenger air bag would be deactivated. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the passenger.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will update the OCS software, free of charge. The recall began on November 30, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

  6. Structure, body, hood, hinge and attachmentsJan 26, 2015

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Nissan Pathfinder vehicles manufactured June 20, 2012, to November 18, 2013, 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Hybrid vehicles manufactured July 18, 2013, to November 18, 2013, 2013 Infiniti JX35 vehicles manufactured November 29, 2011, to June 14, 2013, and 2014 QX60 vehicles manufactured May 16, 2013, to November 18, 2013, and 2014 Infiniti QX60 Hybrid vehicles manufactured July 18, 2013, to November 18, 2013. In the affected vehicles the hood release cable assembly may have been installed incorrectly preventing the latching claw from fully engaging. The secondary latch may remain in the open position when the hood is closed.

If the primary hood latch is released and the secondary latch fails during operation of the vehicle, it could cause the hood to open during vehicle operation impairing the driver's vision, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will modify the angle of the hood release mechanism to provide additional length to the release cable, free of charge. The recall began on March 9, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  7. Power train, automatic transmission, cooling unit and linesMar 26, 2014

Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013 Pathfinder vehicles manufactured April 18, 2012, through October 3, 2012, and equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). In the affected vehicles, the internal oil cooler (ITOC) hose may detach from the cooler due to inadequate clamping force, allowing transmission fluid to leak.

The loss of transmission fluid could cause the transmission to function improperly and the vehicle to stop accelerating, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will install an oil hose repair kit, free of charge. The recall began on May 12, 2014. Owners may contact Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.

  10. Service brakesApr 12, 2013

Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX vehicles manufactured December 3, 2012, through January 29, 2013. The front brake torque member was improperly cast resulting in structural weakness. This can lead to premature failure and cracking.

If the brake torque member fails, the brake caliper may move and contact the inside of the road wheel, resulting in reduced braking, increasing the risk of a crash.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the manufacturing date of the torque members and replace them, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 20, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

  11. Air bagsMar 1, 2013

Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 Altima, LEAF, Pathfinder, Sentra, and Infiniti JX35 vehicles. Sensors within the passenger Occupant Detection System (ODS) may have been manufactured out of specification. This may cause the system to malfunction and permanently suppress the passenger airbag.

If the vehicle is involved in a crash necessitating airbag deployment and the passenger airbag is suppressed, there may be an increased risk of personal injury.

Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ODS sensors and replace them as neccessary, free of charge. The recall began on May 6, 2013. Owners may contact Nissan Customer Service at 1-800-647-7261.

  1. Power train, Apr 5, 2013

WE TO HAVE THE NISSAN BLUES. WE HAVE HAD OUR NISSAN FOR A MONTH AND THE TRANSMISSION IS JERKING IN IT. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND THEY TOLD US THAT IT IS BETWEEN US AND NISSAN. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. NOW WE ARE MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE THAT WE ARE NOT COMFORTABLE ABOUT DRIVING. AFRAID THAT IT WILL STALL IN AN INTERSECTION AND SOMEONE WILL GET HURT OR KILLED. *TR

  2. Power train, Electrical system, Engine, Apr 4, 2013

IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES ALREADY, CAR STARTED SHAKING AND IT STOP ALL OF A SUDDEN, ALL TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT DRAINED OUT. LUCKILY WE DID'N GET HIT FROM THE BACK BECAUSE THE FIRST TIME WAS WHEN WE STOP ON A RED LIGHT AND IT DIDN'T MOVE AT ALL WE TOW IT TO THE NEAREST NISSAN DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT BUT THAT WAS FIXED. I HAD A BAD FEELING AND TOOK IT TO PUENTE HILLS NISSAN WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. BUT THEY TOLD TO COMEBACK NEXT DAY SO ON MY WAY HOME ON THE FREEWAY IT STARTED AGAIN WE JUST HAD SECONDS TO PULL ASIDE FROM THE ROAD AND THE CAR DIDN'T MOVED AT ALL, FLUIDS DRAINED OUT AGAIN AND THIS TIME THE SMOKE WAS EVEN WORST I HAD A PANIC ATTACK BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS GOING TO CATCH ON FIRE SO I'VE JUMPED OUT OF THE CAR "ON THE FREEWAY" WITHOUT THINKING THAT I COULD GET KILLED. THE CAR GOT TOWED TO PUENTE HILLS NISSAN AND "THEY FIXED IT". WHEN THEY WERE TESTING IT IT HAPPENED AGAIN!! THEY TOWED THE CAR BACK AND NOW AFTER A WEEK THEY SAID THAT THEY ALREADY FIXED THE PROBLEM THAT IT WAS THE RADIATOR THAT HAD TOO MUCH PRESSURE SO WAS HEATING UP AND SHOOTING THE HOSES OFF SO THEY NOW REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND TOLD ME TO GO AND PICK UP THE CAR. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING AROUND WITH MY FAMILY THIS SITUATION CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. NISSAN DEALER WON'T REPLACE THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THERE IS THE LEMON LAW THAT STATES THAT AFTER 3 REPAIRS FROM THE SAME ISSUE THE CAR HAS TO BE REPLACED AND EVEN MORE BECAUSE IT WAS A BRAND NEW CAR AND WE ONLY HAD IT FOR 6 WEEKS. AND THERE WAS ALSO 2 RECALLS ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE ONE ON THE ELECTRIC SYSTEM AND OTHER ONE ON THE AIR BAGS SO NOW I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE IS GOING TO HAPPEN WITH THIS VEHICLE. *TR

  3. Power train, Mar 28, 2013

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN SHIFTING HARD. WHEN DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS HOWEVER, THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT SAFETY RELATED. THE TECHNICIAN RESET THE TRANSMISSIONS COMPUTER BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1,600. *TR

  4. Power train, Mar 27, 2013

WHEN STARTING FROM BEING STOPPED AND ALSO WHEN GOING SLOW FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEAR, TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AND JERKS LIKE IT IS STUCK AND CAN'T GET INTO THE NEXT GEAR. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE IS A PROBLEM AND THAT NISSAN IS INVESTIGATING BUT DOESN'T HAVE A FIX YET BUT HOPES TO BY APRIL 2013. MOST EXPENSIVE CAR WE EVER BOUGHT AND WE HAVE ONLY HAD IT A MONTH AND IT IS DOING IT MORE AND MORE FREQUENTLY. IF NISSAN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM THEY SHOULD HAVE STOPPED SELLING THE CARS OR AT LEAST NOTIFY THE POTENTIAL BUYER OF THE PROBLEM. WE ALSO HAVE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG PROBLEM TOO. *TR

  5. Air bags, Mar 27, 2013

FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG WOULD GO OFF WHILE I WAS SITTING IN THE SEAT. SOMETIMES RESETS AND GOES OFF AFTER TURN PATHFINDER OFF BUT EVENTUALLY ALWAYS COMES BACK ON. TOOK BACK TO DEALERSHIP THEY DID A "ZERO RESET" AND TOLD ME TO CONTACT THEM IF LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. THEY ALSO HAD TO FIX A COUPLE OF MINOR COSMETIC ISSUES SO I ENDED UP WITH A RENTAL CAR FOR A FEW DAYS...A 2012 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHEN HUSBAND SAT IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT THAT AIRBAG LIGHT ALSO CAME ON. *TR

  6. Air bags, Mar 26, 2013

THE SENSOR FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG DOES NOT WORK. THE AIRBAGS ARE AUTOMATICALLY TURNED OFF EVEN WHEN THERE IS A FULL GROWN ADULT IN THE FRONT SEAT. ALSO, DURING ROUTINE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE WHEN NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT, THE AIRBAG INDICATOR MAY SWITCH TO "ON." IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, AN ADULT FRONT SEAT PASSENGER WILL NOT HAVE THE PROTECTION OF THE FRONT AIRBAG DUE TO A FAULTY SENSOR. THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IS CLAIMING THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE AIRBAG SENSOR--EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE NEWS ARTICLES TO THE CONTRARY. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL UNDER MY VIN--EVEN THOUGH OTHER 2013 PATHFINDERS ARE THE SUBJECT OF A RECALL. (IN FACT, I ACCESSED THIS SITE FROM A NEWS ARTICLE DISCUSSING THE PROBLEM AND THE RECALL.) AND, BOTH THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN ARE CLAIMING THAT THE DEFECT MAY NOT BE COVERED BY THE MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY. AT PRESENT, THE CAR HAS LESS THAN TWO THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED (2500) MILES. *TR

  7. Power train, Mar 21, 2013

BOUGHT A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER IN NOVEMBER. 3 MONTHS LATER AND 2 HOURS AWAY FROM HOME WE STARTED FEELING A "JUTTER" AND COULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE. LEAVING MYSELF (32 WEEKS PREGNANT), MY 2 YEAR OLD, AND 5 YEAR OLD STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE NORTHWAY IN 20* WEATHER. THERE WAS SMOKE BILLOWING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD. THE TRANSMISSION BLEW, A NEW TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN ORDERED BUT, IT IS UNKNOWN HOW LONG IT WILL TAKE TO FIX. NISSAN NOR MY LOCAL DEALER ARE DOING ANYTHING RECTIFY THE PROBLEM APPARENTLY, I SHOULD TAKE AN $8,000 LOSS BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL SAFE PUTTING MY FAMILY IN THEIR FAULTY PRODUCT THAT CAN'T GET US FROM POINT A TO POINT B. *TR

  8. Power train, Electrical system, Mar 20, 2013

DURING SLOW ACCELERATION FROM FULL STOP, THE VEHICLE WOULD VIBRATE/SHUDDER FOR A COUPLE OR SECONDS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 15-25 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD SLIP AND CATCH AND SLIP AND CATCH. THIS HAPPENS 3-5 TIMES A DAY. I DRIVE MOSTLY CITY DRIVING SO ITS MOSTLY STOP AND GO DRIVING FROM ONE LIGHT TO THE NEXT. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER BUT MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THAT RECALL AND EXHIBITS THE SAME ISSUES. EVEN AFTER THE REPROGRAM, OTHER OWNERS I'VE TALKED TO STILL EXPERIENCE THE SAME ISSUE. *TR

  9. Power train, Mar 19, 2013

MOST OF THE TIME THAT I AM ACCELERATING BETWEEN 20 - 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE IS SHAKING. THE AMOUNT OF SHAKE OR "SHUDDER"VARIES FROM SLIGHTLY NOTICEABLE TO VERY NOTICEABLE. THE CONCERN HERE IS THE RELIABILITY OF THE TRANSMISSION (CVT) WHICH SEEMS TO BE SLIPPING. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED TO PREVENT FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING IN FREEWAYS THUS PREVENTING A POSSIBILITY OF A CRASH. *TR

  10. Air bags, Mar 15, 2013

PASSENGER WEIGHING >120 LBS SITTING ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG LIGHT "OFF" WAS LIT INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG WAS TURNED OFF. THE LIGHT TURNED OFF AFTER ABOUT 5 MIN OF DRIVING BUT CAME ON AGAIN A FEW MINUTES LATER. *TR

  11. Air bags, Seat belts, Mar 15, 2013

ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER TAKING DELIVERY ON MY NEW 2013 PATHFINDER I NOTICED THE SRS SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ON, UNLESS BOTH FRONT AND PASSENGER SEAT BELTS WERE ENGAGED. ADDITIONALLY, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WARNING INDICATOR BEHAVES ERRATICALLY, OFTEN FAILING TO SHUT-OFF WITHIN 7 SECONDS OF VEHICLE START, AND REMAINING ON, EVEN WITH AN ADULT IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I HAVE THUS-FAR MADE 3 TRIPS TO MY SERVICING DEALER, WHO HAS BEEN UNABLE TO RESOLVE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM ISSUE. ON MY SECOND SERVICE VISIT, THE DEALER SERVICE ADVISOR MENTIONED THAT NISSAN TECH SUPPORT HAD ADVISED HIM THAT THE ODS SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT MAY NOT HAVE BEEN CALIBRATED CORRECTLY, AT THE FACTORY. *TR

  12. Service brakes, Hydraulic, Structure, Wheels, Mar 14, 2013

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE BECAME RESISTANT TO ACCELERATION ATTEMPTS AS SHE ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A TRAFFIC STOP. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE HAD BECOME DEFLATED. THE VEHICLE WAS LATER TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE ENTIRE UNDER-CARRIAGE AN INVESTIGATOR WOULD BE SENT TO FURTHER ACCESS THE FAILURE BECAUSE A COMPONENT HAD FRACTURED UNDER THE VEHICLE, CAUSING THE RIM TO BECOME SHREDDED AND THE BRAKE LINES TO FAIL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND AN INVESTIGATION WAS PENDING. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 1,400. *TR

  13. Seat belts, Mar 14, 2013

2013 PATHFINDER; NOTICED A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASE THAT THE PASSENGER SEATBELT LIGHT WOULD ALWAYS STAY ON. TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY LOOKED IT OVER FOR AN HOUR OR SO AND COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT. WHEN I GOT HOME, I CONNECTED THE PASSENGER SEATBELT (WITH AN EMPTY SEAT) AND IT WENT OUT. TOOK IT BACK AND THEY CORRECTED THE PROBLEM STATING THAT IT WAS A "LOOSE SEATBELT CONNECTION" ISSUE. NOW I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT THE UNDERLYING PROBLEM MAY BE A BAD AIRBAG SENSOR AND THAT THE MECHANIC SIMPLY MAY HAVE DISCONNECTED OR RESET THE WARNING LIGHT TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE NOT YET EXPERIENCED THE OTHER MAJOR ISSUES OTHER OWNERS HAVE REPORTED, BUT I EXPECT THESE GREMLINS TO START SURFACING AT ANY TIME. I HATE TO SAY THIS, BUT MY WIFE'S BUILT IN JAPAN PRIUS IS WONDERFUL, ANYTHING AMERICAN ASSEMBLED OR BUILT NOT SO WONDERFUL IN MY EXPERIENCE. *TR

AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON. *TR

  15. Air bags, Mar 10, 2013

DRIVING HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP THE NIGHT I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE, AND I NOTICE THE SUPPLEMENTAL AIRBAG ICON FLASHING. (I DON'T RECALL SEEING IT DURING THE TEST DRIVE.) I DID NOT IMMEDIATELY RECOGNIZE THE ICON, SO WHEN I GOT HOME, I LOOKED IT UP IN THE MANUAL, AND IT TELLS ME THAT I MUST GET IT SERVICED AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. REALLY? NOT EVEN 15 MINUTES AFTER DRIVING IT OFF THE LOT, AND I HAVE TO BRING IT BACK TO BE SERVICED??? NISSAN BETTER GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. *TR

  16. Air bags, Seat belts, Mar 7, 2013

I PURCHASED MY BRAND NEW 2103 NISSAN PATHFINDER DECEMBER OF 2012. I NOTICED WITHIN THE FIRST COUPLE WEEKS THAT THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH WOULD NOT GO OUT IF I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AND I WAS BUCKED UP. SO I TOOK IT IN TO SERVICE IN EARLY JANUARY TO DEAL WITH A DEFECT IN THE LEATHER AND THEY SAID THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE LIGHT AND THAT WAS HOW IT WAS SUPPOSED TO WORK. SO EVERYTHING WAS FINE FOR ANOTHER MONTH WHEN THE CAR STARTED BLOWING SMOKE. SO I TOOK IT IN FOR SERVICE AGAIN AND THIS TIME A DIFFERENT DEALER RECOGNIZED THAT THAT WASN'T HOW THE CAR SHOULD BE WORKING SO HE SAID THEY WOULD TAKE CARE OF THE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT. SO A COUPLE DAYS LATER AFTER PARTS WERE SENT OVERNIGHT THEY CALLED AND SAID THAT MY VEHICLE WAS READY FOR PICKUP. I PICKED THE PATHFINDER UP AND SURE ENOUGH THE SEAT BELT LIGHT WENT OFF WHEN I GOT IN BUT NOW I HAD AN AIRBAG FAILURE LIGHT ON THE DASH. SINCE IT WAS THE END OF THE DAY THEY ASKED ME TO BRING IT BACK IN THE NEXT DAY. SO AFTER ANOTHER VISIT TO NISSAN THEY HAD TO CALL THE TECH LINE BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO FIX THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. LONG STORY SHORT THEY SENT ME AWAY WITH MY BROKEN PATHFINDER BECAUSE APPARENTLY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE AND THE TECH LINE AT NISSAN HASN'T FIGURED OUT A REMEDY FOR THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS UNACCEPTABLE SO I TOOK MY VEHICLE AND I CALLED CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. THE AGREED THAT THIS WAS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE BUT NOW MONTHS LATER AND I CAN'T EVEN GET A CALL BACK FROM THEIR CONSUMER AFFAIRS. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE AND UNTIL NISSAN CAN WORK OUT ALL OF THE "BUGGS" EVERYONE SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM THIS VEHICLE. *TR

INITIALLY IT WOULD NOT DETECT ANYBODY WAS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT AND THE DEALER TRY TO RESET THE SENSOR SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS. NOW ALL AIRBAG WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON AND PER THE OWNERS MANUAL THE VEHICLE SHOULD NOT BE DRIVEN. I WAS TOLD IN JAN PARTS WERE ORDERED TO FIX THIS ISSUE AND THEY ARE STILL NOT IN. SINCE WE TOOK POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE, THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD BE ILLUMINATED WHEN VARIOUS ADULT SIZE PEOPLE WILL BE SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. THE WEIGHTS OF THE ADULTS SITTING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WOULD VARY FROM 110 AND UP TO 139 AND STILL THE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON, INDICATING THAT THE AIRBAG IS OFF\DISABLED. WE EVEN TRIED HAVING A SALESPERSON (UNKNOWN WEIGHT) SIT IN THE CAR AND STILL THE LIGHT WOULD STAY ON. *TR

I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER ON 02/16/2013 AND STEERING WHEEL OFF BALANCE. 2 DAYS LATER, I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO HENDERSON NISSAN BUT IT WAS JUST A PATCH UP TO THE PROBLEM. TODAY 02/26/2013 A NEW PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN I DRIVE AT 15MPH THE TRANSMISSION JERK CAUSE A BIG VIBRATION TO THE CAR AND I'M AFRAID THIS WILL LEAD TO A MAJOR PROBLEM. I PURCHASE THIS CAR TO TRANSPORT MY 4 YEARS DAUGHTER AND I DON'T WANT THIS CAR TRANSMISSION TO BREAK DOWN ON FREEWAY WHICH COULD CAUSE A MAJOR PILE UP. 25. Engine and engine cooling, Power train, Feb 20, 2013

HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE FOR 3 WEEKS. WIFE WAS RETURNING FROM PICKING OF PIZZA AND WAS 2 MILES FROM HOUSE - CALLED ME TO TELL ME THE CAR IS "DEAD". ARRIVED TO FIND FLUID ALL OVER STREET BEHIND AND BELOW VEHICLE. HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THE NEXT DAY WAS TOLD THEY WOULD BE REPLACING THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION. WAS TOLD THAT THE HOSE FOR TRANSMISSION WAS MANUFACTURED A BIT TOO SMALL AND THEY HAVE BEEN "FALLING OFF" RESULTING IN A TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR BURN OUT. NOT HOW I WANTED TO BEGIN OWNERSHIP WITH A NISSAN... *TR
