Seat belts, pretensionerMar 5, 2024
Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Pathfinder and Infiniti QX60 vehicles. The lap belt pretensioner in the left-side front seat belt assembly may be improperly secured, due to a missing rivet. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208 "Occupant Crash Protection," 209 "Seat Belt Assemblies," and 210 "Seat Belt Assembly Anchorages."
An unsecured lap belt pretensioner will not properly restrain an occupant during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will inspect and replace the left-side front lap seat belt pretensioner assemblies as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 18, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Owners may contact Infiniti customer service at 1-800-662-6200. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD106 and PD107.

Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2024 Titan, Frontier, Infiniti QX60, Pathfinder, 2023-2024 Sentra, Versa, Kicks, Infiniti QX50, and 2023 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing issue, the driver's air bag inflator may absorb moisture, and cause the air bag to deploy improperly.
An air bag that deploys improperly may not protect the driver as intended during a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Dealers will replace the front driver's air bag assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed April 10, 2024. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's numbers for this recall are PD103, PD104, and PMA34.

This was the first of FIVE failtures, on other complaints, I had put FOUR however, my daughter reminded me coming back from [XXX] in XXX that it happened on XXX. I have been trying to work with Nissan for two years on this. I am sharing you, we absolutely are afraid to take this vehicle back, it's not safe for anyone to possess as it will result in loss of life. Nissan needs to own up to this failure and repurcase this and use it for tests to figure out why their main communication system is not relating. I was out in the middle of nowhere and scared to death that it was going to continue to die on me, I stopped finally at a Pilot and a nice employee at Pilot who just got off work helped me. He disconnected the battery twice, we let it sit, then it started and cleared. I had taken a time stamped photo and sent to my husband for guidance. We took the vehicle to Nissan the tech said they could not duplicate the error, this was the first of a two year struggle with trying to work with Nissan and figure out what was wrong. After this last XXX incident Complaint XXX, XXX and I am entering two more where I have either video, photos, or both. I have been gathering witness statements. I am a XXX in the field for 34 years and my husband a XXX and also a XXX. We are smart people who happened to buy a LEMON of a vehicle that is not safe for it to be on the road. Looking from this time, my family is so lucky that none of us got killed on the side of the road, on the Interstate itself, or simply driving to and from our home in the mountains here in [XXX]. We are just terrified to be in this vehicle. Also, the saddest thing I want noted, is these are mostly HIGHEWAY miles back and forth to my daughters house in [XXX]. Not even in town miles and the vehicle has done these things. Please please help us hold Nissan accountable. This vehicle is a danger to human life. The contact owns a 2024 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that on several occasions when the vehicle was started, the RPM was excessively high, and the engine was revving excessively. The contact stated that while driving on several occasions at various speeds in rainy weather, the Forward Collision Avoidance notification activated inadvertently via the side mirrors on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a complaint was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

Very unusual and excessive rear brake pads and rotor decay, I was asked by dealership to replace brake pads and rotor just at 22000 miles, and then after replacing again they are asking to replace just after another 19000 miles. And the automatic brake sometimes gets scary, get too close to the front vehicle without reducing speed while driving in cruise control mode.
Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Forward collision avoidance, Jan 23, 2026
The vehicle has an ongoing safety-related defect involving the forward distance sensor. The distance sensor randomly turns off while driving, which disables critical collision-avoidance systems including Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB), Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Cruise Control. The failure is intermittent and unpredictable. The safety systems may appear functional and then shut off without warning, which creates a safety hazard because the driver cannot reliably depend on the vehicle’s crash-prevention features. The vehicle has been taken in for repair multiple times. The distance sensor has already been replaced once, but the problem continues to occur. In addition to the sensor issue, the vehicle has experienced multiple serious repairs, including replacement of the ECM, fuel pump replacement twice, battery replacement twice, engine oil pressure switch replacement, and other electrical-related issues. These repeated failures suggest an ongoing electronic or control system problem. At one point, the vehicle was held by the dealership due to the ECM being removed. A representative at Nissan of Murfreesboro suggested that I could pick up and drive the vehicle without the new ECM installed, stating it “shouldn’t” cause damage. I refused due to safety and risk of engine damage. Nissan Consumer Affairs has denied a buyback request and has only offered partial repair assistance, despite the safety system continuing to fail. The defect remains unresolved and continues to disable collision-avoidance systems while the vehicle is in operation. This issue presents a safety risk due to the loss of crash-prevention functionality without warning. I’ve had issues with the vehicle since I bought it in 2024. Nissan would only see my vehicle if I had a “video” since they have to have “proof” of the issue. Jan. 5, 2026 is the most recent time of me taking it in for the electrical light turning on and they said it’s internal failure of distance censor again.
Forward collision avoidance, Nov 11, 2025
Engine, ABS, Collison, Traction Control malfunction lights came on. I took it to the dealership and it was determined that the right wheel sensor was reading at 407 mph. After replacing the sensor, the lights came on within minutes of me leaving the dealership. The vehicle is at the dealership currently. With the recent engine replacement and returning within five days for the second issue twice is a safety risk given that the vehicle can brake at any minute while driving which can cause catatrophic danger to me and/or others. The service techs are not sure what is going on with the vehicle. No other issues occured prior to the engine replacement (October 9, 2025 - November 3, 2025 at the dealership) and now the malfunction of the sensors (November 7 - current) twice within days. Dominos effect of safety issues and defects.

The collision warning deactivated the vehicles cruise control and slowed the vehilce down at highway speeds. Traveling at 80mph speed limit and cruise disengaged and as a result the traffic to the rear of the vehicle came very close. There were two vehicles behind my vehicle and it was too close for comfort. The event occurred in North Dakota on Interstate with no forward traffic.
Air bags, Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Mar 19, 2025, crash
The car was involved in a collision into a jersey barrier on the left side of the vehicle at high speed that is 60 mph first the none of the airbags deployed and including the front airbags driver knee airbags or the curtain side airbags. Next, the driver‘s Apple Watch confirmed that we were in a collision and was able to call 911 where the safety features within the vehicle did not make any notification that we were in a collision, nor is it reflected within the Nissan app that there was a collision after the fact. Additional safety features for an accident are supposed to include four ways being automatically turned on in the car, unlocking the passengers had to engage the 4-way lights and the passenger side front had to unlock the car to be assisted by Paramedics. Additionally, the back driver side tire is completely flat and reads as such within the app at 0 PSI however, the front driver side passenger tire is ripped from its rim and still reading fully at 39 psi. Despite the car being unable to start, additionally, the app is showing that all systems are fine within the car. Finally, the brakes the driver stated their foot was all the way to the floor attempting to break and the passenger front side also heard a severe grinding noise. No warning, lights or lamps appeared during the accident. In addition no warning lights were visible within the app post accident. Finally, there was not an alert sent through the app. Insurance company has considered the car totaled. These have been unable to be reproduced. We have requested that our insurance save and document everything in our insurance, USAA has been unresponsive at this time.
