A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
If the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury in the event of a fire.

With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the vehicle software, inspect the BTSI, and, as necessary, replace it, free of charge. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is T79.

Certain driving conditions, such as driving off-road or debris striking the vehicle may cause the roll rate sensor to trigger a fault within the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC). If this fault occurs, the rollover side curtain air bag and the seat belt pretensioner will be disabled from deploying.
If the rollover side curtain air bags and seat belt pretensioners are disabled, there is an increased risk of injury to the vehicle occupants in the event of a crash that necessitates activation of these safety systems.

ABS Control Module Fault, due to this the electronic breaking, traction control, cruise control and Anti-Lock Brake system is in fault. with this fault there is a possibility for the braking system to fully fail when operation the vehicle, along with a higher chance to lose control if a need for the traction control comes up. The vehicle has been looked at and was informed that the only part that needs to be changed out is the Control Module. The part needed are not available at any non-dealership location and all dealerships that have been contacted have the part on back order for months with said parts already waiting to go into a vehicle. I have been searching for the part needed since June 2024. This effects the 2014-2016 models of the Ram 1500.

ABS system went out 3 years ago. The truck was still drivable and used extreme caution when doing so. This morning the power steering went out which is directly related to the ABS system. I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Laramie that I've owned for just over a year. I have already had to replace the EPS rack and pinion once, due to losing all power steering while driving with my kids. I paid $1,800 for the rack and pinion with a limited warranty. The warranty is now up and I am having to buy another rack and pinion from $1,800-$2,500. When I was driving my kids to school, my steering wheel completely locked up and I could not control my vehicle. This has been an ongoing issue and my truck has been inoperable for three weeks. MOPAR is selling dangerous vehicle that are not road worthy that endanger not only my family's lives, but those also on the road. This issue needs fixed, because I am now paying for a vehicle that is unsafe and is putting me in financial hardship. The issue has been confirmed by a mechanic shop to be the EPS rack and pinion system. There was zero warning each time this has occurred, I just lost complete control of my vehicle without warning.

Steering, Apr 18, 2025
The electric power steering has slowly become sluggish. At first I noticed the steering wheel was not returning to center after a turn and I would have to assist steering the truck back straight. This started maybe a month ago and being mechanically inclined I thought maybe it was an alignment issue (not enough caster possibly). Then as I left home this morning, out of the blue, the steering was very heavy with substantially less assist. It was difficult parking and even more sluggish returning to center from a turn requiring full hands on steering back to straight ahead. Looking the issue up on the Internet, I find a recall for this issue in 2016 on a small number of this model and now an new ongoing NHTSA investigation since August 2023. I am the third owner of this truck and it has had great care and is in generally fine condition for a 10 year old truck. I have already had to convert the truck back to coil spring suspension due to the air suspension system crapping out. I don't believe a steering system should give out at only 109,000 miles. I believe Stellantis should be held accountable for major system such as steering failing with such low mileage.

Issued I have had with this vehicle was the camshaft , started shaking and missfire as I was driving heard from other ram owners that this is a common issue on 3.6 ltr The other was an electrical wiring harness that's goes to the engine I have a knob gear shifter as I was driving vehicles. Trip started fine till I got to my destination by the grace of God I made it asoon as I parked it all the lights on my dashboard came on traction control throttle body automatic brakes crankshaft sensor and I forgot what else had it towed to LA to mechanic shop where it took them about 3 -4 weeks to pinpoint the issue the esults were the wires were melted and corroded you could see the green residue all along the wire harness. I'm grateful it ain't catch fire or stop on the highway in the middle of the freeway

On about [XXX], I was driving and my engine felt like it missed and my check engine light came on and a message appeared telling me to get remote throttle serviced. The truck began to drive badly and lack of acceleration made it difficult to maneuver in traffic. The truck was very difficult to start and unsafe to pull into traffic due to lagging ability to accelerate. I took it to a Firestone and they pulled the codes and said the crankshaft sensor and crank tone wheel had failed and needed replacing. I decided to take it to a RAM dealer in Franklin TN to confirm the diagnosis. After about a week, they confirmed and said crankshaft sensor and reluctor wheel needed to be replaced. I asked them if it would be covered under the recall (FCA W58) on the known defect of the crank tone wheel delaminating. When the recall occurred, I had the temporary solution of a computer flash done back in 2021, but the actual defective part was not replaced. They reported back to me that the cost of the repair would not be covered. They said my truck was too old, but the defect was discovered while my truck was still under warranty. Also, under a previous FCA lawsuit, they were made to pay truck owners money and extend their warranty. How can they get away with not having to rectify a known defect without fixing the problem? The computer flash simply allowed the vehicle to continue to operate, but it was by no means safe to operate on public streets in traffic. Will the NHTSA make FCA actually fix this problem? Thank you for your time. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My vehicle has a malfunction ABS module and is causing error codes. The OEM Mopar part 68228991AD has been discontinued for years. Getting a replacement has become impossible. I have called the company and they said they are looking into the issue. This has been going on for a very long time. Mopar needs to either sell the item, or issue a recall, if the item is faulty. My ABS is a risk and cause an accident in bad weather. PLEASE HELP ME GET MY REPLACEMENT PART so I can safely drive my truck.
