I closed my tailgate and it sounded like it latched, but I got a warning as soon as I pulled out on the road that my tailgate was open. I pulled over but it still looked closed and didn’t fall when I pulled on it. I went to open the tailgate to try to shut it again but it wouldn’t open. I unlocked the car a few times and it still wouldn’t open. I had to push really hard and then pull the latch and it finally clicked and opened. Sometimes intermittently on the highway it will tell me my tailgate is not closed. This is a safety issue because if the tailgate opens while I’m driving down the highway and my bed load slides out it could harm someone else behind me.

The 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 experienced a similar malfunction as is stated in Recall B2A, which is for 2023 Ram Pickup Trucks. This instance also deals with the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) and the SCCM does not meet the "requirement for original equipment" as per Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard #108. When it malfunctions, the left turn signal flashes when the turn signal is in the left turn position and the neutral position. No signals turn on when in the right turn position. The SCCM was diagnosed with an "Internal Failure" by Mopar technicians at the local dealership including the vehicle flashing test code B2225. The new SCCM took about a month to come in and in that time, sometimes the turn signals functioned normally, which resulted in false confidence as it would again malfunction while driving. This issue is particularly dangerous because sometimes it works as it should and sometimes not. You can account for a completely broken SCCM with arm signals, but when it malfunctions at intermittent times, it results in an unsafe driving environment that you cannot plan for. In getting my vehicle repaired with a new SCCM, I requested for them to save the original SCCM that came with my vehicle at the time of purchase for an organization to further diagnose the problem if desired.

Driving the vehicle and out of no where the power steer failed and the steering wheel locked up. Had 3 young children in the car with me and was blocking traffic due to being unable to drive the vehicle. The dealer inspected the vehicle and said it would need a new power steering rack and that he has never heard of this problem before when it’s all over the internet. The part is not available and it will be a minimum of 30 days with no estimated date. Vehicle has only 62,500 miles and has never been involved in any crash. This issue put my children at risk with no indication it would happen.

Upon acceleration from stop, and even while driving at speeds between 30 & 40 mph, the vehicle shifts from Drive to Neutral and displays "Shift to P..." on the display. This occurs repeatedly. You have to stop the vehicle and shift to Park then back to Drive. But it keeps occurring, over and over. It first occurred when I pulled out into traffic, the vehicle shifted to N and I had absolutely NO EXCELLERATION with oncoming traffic behind me. I immediately put on my hazard lights and steered towards the curb to attempt to get out of the way... traffic behind me was able to slow and avoid collision but this is an extremely dangerous issue.

Truck on random occasions won’t lock or unlock using the inside door panel buttons. I also couldn’t unlock using the fob key. Hot day and person inside was not able to get out. I had to use the metal key inside the remote to unlock and open the doors. This has happened at least 4 times in pass 3 months. I replaced fob with fresh and pre tested button battery and also replaced the trucks main battery and problem still happens. I’m afraid a day may come and someone gets trapped inside truck on a hot day.

My truck was parked in my driveway for several weeks while away from home, I arrived the water pulling into my floor board and the front driver side and running down the top of my headliner into the back seat, also my belongings and leather seats along with the majority of the interior was covered in mold and mildew leaving a foul odor and it stains. I cleaned it up still has a leak, going back on that my rear driver side tail light started filling up with water causing the tail light and module to go bad, whereas a message would pop up on my dash for blind spot not available service required and immediately afterwards my infotainment Center touch screen would go black the rest of my lights on the controls would flash and the vehicle would default to heat I could not roll my front windows down or control the climate in the vehicle until I replaced the tail light with another module, I'm not sure or it is unknown whether or not the water getting into the cab on my truck or the tail light filling with with water was the culprit, I've had numerous electrical issues with his vehicle and as well problems with the power steering before where it went out on me all together while driving 75 mph on the highway, my brakes did not retract when service at a shop and I had to buy two rear brake calipers and rotors to fix the problem because the Pistons from the automatic park brake which is also controlled by the infotainment Center as far as I understand did not retract and caused my rotors to be eaten away prematurely. If anyone's reading this I have plenty of complaints about this vehicle for the price I paid, if one thing after another from the four-wheel drive system to the traction control to the air suspension all the way to the electronics I fix one thing and something else pops up, I've seen numerous Threads Online where hundreds of people have had the same or similar issues and honestly every single one can affect the safety of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2019 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the active front air dam needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to TSB: 23-029-22 (Active Air Dam Not Functioning- X96 Warranty Extension). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a casa was opened. The contact was then referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 164,000.

The steering rack overheated causing the vehicle to lock up while being driven. Looked issue up online and see this has been an issue and recall for other Ram pickups but Dodge Ram says my truck not covered under recall. I do not drive aggressive nor has this vehicle been used to haul anything heavy. It has 81000 miles on it. Dodge dealership says the electric power steering module has a fault and needs to be replaced but says the module can't be replaced without replacing full rack and pinion steering as well as module for $3000.

I was driving on busy road and truck completely shut down with a warning message”shifter autocorrect active” all power to truck died out and truck cruised to a slow speed and then abruptly jumped into park.i would restart it, drive few feet and it did it again. A few times it drove for a relatively longer distance but same message would come up and truck shut down in motion. Police had me take it off the road as i was causing very unsafe situations for myself and for all others around me. Had truck towed home, Unhooked battery once car got home to help reset it, took it out again and exactly same thing. Called dealer they said never heard of it , yet there are hundreds of complaints regarding this situation online. Taking it into dealer to have a diagnosis done

The digital speedometer display stopped working, so no speed is displayed in the cluster while driving. When the vehicle is started the display never turns on so you can't see speed, odometer or any safety warnings.

Car went in limp mode then in full lock down. ABS control module failed After research a very common issue. Hundreds of Ram vehicles affected. Just escaped being hit as the truck went in limp mode. After Gear selector locked car in park, I was in the middle of the road with cars approaching. Had to stand behind the vehicle and wave, so no one would crash into me. Chrysler/ Dodge/Ram is aware of this issue. They are also not releasing ABS modules, due to being under engineer review, meaning they are unable to provide a safe part. Many trucks with super low mileage, and mine has 40K. I would feel very uncomfortable to go on a road trip, if it will ever get fixed. The contact has an email with Ram acknowledging the safety issue and diligently to get the part for repairs.

The rear backlite leaks causing water to drip into the rear of the vehicle from the back of the cab or the headliner. The water leak caused the RF module to short out. This caused the vehicle to unexpectedly turn off while driving in the middle of the road. Luckily this happened in the evening hours on a suburban road, but it is a MAJOR safety risk should this occur on a highway. The Dealer has confirmed the leak and the shorted out RF module. Prior to the vehicle stopping in the middle of the road, the vehicle cycled through Off, ACC, and Run and the vehicle would not turn off when I tried to park it earlier the same day.

This truck as well as multiple others I have seen complaints on multiple dodge ram forums where something is causing the battery to die then the stability control light comes on and the the truck will not change gears until the battery is completely disconnected to "reset" the computer and then it's like the battery never died. It works great with no issues for months then out of nowhere the exact same issue happens once again. We have spent thousands of dollars fixing this issue to no avail just keep replacing parts that apparently aren't the fix. So far we have replaced the torque converter, the battery as well as paying for multiple diagnostics to which they keep replacing the battery saying that is the issue but obviously it can't be the battery when it's getting replaced over and over SOMETHING is causing this draw making the battery die. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS AND ISSUE A RECALL SO WE AREN'T LEFT WITH THIS HORRIBLE TASTE IN OUR MOUTHS AND DON'T NOT WANT TO PURCHASE ANY MORE DODGE VEHICLES BECAUSE WE OWN ALL DODGE VEHICLES BUT NEVER HAVE WE HAD SUCH PROBLEMS AS WITH THIS 2019 RAM 1500 VIN [XXX] BECAUSE THIS IS BREAKING US. I am not sure if this issue is electrical or suspension or even computer related. My car battery was dead after just driving it a few hours ago. I came out and heard a noise coming from the truck that sounded strange coming from under the hood, like something was trying to start or like a long delayed switching sound or airpump (I'm not sure). When starting the vehicle it only clicked and the battery showed low, the air suspension, airbags, safety systems and a lot more all lit up on my dashboard. I do have a video but on my cell phone not the computer from which I am writing this and it is too large of a file size for here. I placed the batter on a charger and it took a very long time to get enough of a charge but still wouldn't start. I had to get mad and keep pressing the start button and letting go on and off and on and off before it eventually started. I have not experienced this issue since but it was concerning to me that all the suspension, leveling, safety, headlight directional systems, etc. had errors flashing or cycling on the dash to be serviced and it killed my battery by having components activating audibly so and just disappear.

I JUST PICKED UP A 2019 RAM 1500 CLASSIC TRADESMAN AND TWO WEEKS AFTER MY POWER STEERING STARTED TO GO IN AND OUT. AND NOW IT DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. I CALL THE DEALER AND THEY SAID IT'S NOT ON THE RECALL LIST,BUT IT'S THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR. THEY GAVE ME A PRICE TO REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR. I ONLY HAVE 33,980 MILES ON THIS TRUCK.

When driving the vehicle on the roadway, the vehicle will turn off the engine and will not allow you to accelerate and will flash a message to put the car in park. When you pull on the side of the road and place the vehicle in park you can then restart the engine. Once the engine is on and you try to put the vehicle in drive the engine will turn off again and request that you put the vehicle in park. It does this over and over for about 5-6 times until it does eventually allow the vehicle to stay in Drive and you can start moving down the road. Once you are driving in the road way it will repeat the process again. During this process there are no warning lights or messages being displayed other than "place the vehicle in park". This is extremely dangerous especially if I was on the interstate or Highway and I lost all capability to move the vehicle. I took the vehicle to a dealership and they were unable to recreate the issue and so no active codes that would point them in the direction of the problem. The dealership told me there was nothing they could do unless they had a code or could recreate the issue.

I HAVE WATER ENTERING THE CAB BY THE UPPER BRAKE LIGHT AT THE BACK OF THE CAB. THE WATER IS MAKING WATER STAINS ON THE HEAD LINER AND THE WATER IS SATURATING THE AIR CURTAINS ABOVE THE REAR WINDOW. IT IS ALSO MAKING THE FLOOR WET AND THE ELECTRICAL WIRES AND COMPONENTS ON THE FLOOR. I ALSO HEAR AIR LEAKS AROUND THE DOOR SEALS WHEN I AM DRIVING ENTERING CURVES AND TURNS. IT SEEMS LIKE THE CAB, OR DOORS SHIFT BREAKING THE DOOR SEALS ALOWING AIR TO ENTER. I BOUGHT IT USED WITH 46775 MILES ON IT IT CURRENTLY HAS 54465 MILES ON IT. SOMETHING IS DEFINETLY WRONG. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
