My differential totally stopped me dead in the middle of a 5 lane highway. A very scary experience. I googled and read that there was a recall on 2018-2019 RAMS for inadequate lubrication of the differential components. I get regular oil changes and the 100 point inspection each time.. So why has this occurred? Dodge has dropped the ball or my truck is a part of the recall, correct?
Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Sep 3, 2026
The 48-Volt Belt-Driven Hybrid Starter Generator / Motor Generator Unit (MGU / eTorque Alternator) suffered a catastrophic failure on my vehicle at approximately [Insert Mileage, e.g., 140,000] miles. The failure occurred while traveling out of state away from home, causing a sudden loss of vehicle charging, dashboard electrical errors ("Battery Saver Mode"), and creating an imminent threat of an engine stall in live traffic. Due to widespread manufacturer part backorders exceeding tens of thousands of units, my vehicle was forced to sit at a dealership until I could pay thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for a component that Ram has actively removed from newer production vehicles due to its high failure rate. This is a severe, systemic durability and safety issue affecting thousands of trucks. I am requesting that NHTSA force FCA/Stellantis to issue a safety recall and establish a retroactive reimbursement program for all owners who paid out-of-pocket for MGU replacements. I possess the official out-of-state dealership invoice and proof of payment.

When driving, I get a prompt on my dash to switch to park and then desired gear. I get no response from my accelerator until I do so. This particularly happens when I’m slowing down and accelerating after a stop signs or traffic lights. Happens while in the middle of intersections. This happened about 7 times in the past month. Dealership said they couldn’t find a problem when I took it in. They did a transmission re-learn which I paid for and the issue happened twice since that appointment.
Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Visibility/wiper, Apr 21, 2026
Intermittent total electrical communication failure ('No Bus' error) triggered by warm weather. While driving at any speed, the instrument cluster gauges drop to zero and the vehicle loses all control of turn signals, hazards, cruise control, and windshield wipers. This has created several near-miss situations in traffic and rain. The failure also prevents the vehicle from starting. Despite multiple dealership visits and an open Star Case, the manufacturer has failed to provide a remedy for this safety-critical defect.

Third Brake light (pulse brake light) causes interior leaks causing damage to electrical, interior rust on seats, water damage, headliner staining. This is a common issue. Larson Dodge in Puyallup stated they see approximately three Rams in weekly for this issue including my vehicle 1500. Dodge should do a recall to replace light and repair all damage caused by water damage.

Hello my name is [XXX] , current owner of a 2019 Ram 1500 classic vin# [XXX] On 3-20-2026 As I was driving on I-10 with my family on the 3rd lane driving steady on a stop and go traffic. My vehicle lost complete power shutting down giving me little time to pull off to the left media. When I came to a full stop I immediately shift gear to parking and turned ignition key off. I proceeded to restart the engine but wouldn’t start. As I noticed a red bolt like light on the cluster no sound of any engine or click nothing at all . On the 3rd attempt the engine successfully turned on and proceeded to driving. My primary question to my concern is if there’s any possible recalls related to this issue? The truck is out of warranty. I spoke to a Ram service adviser [XXX] at [XXX] and states mopar wont cover into fixing the problem the because it’s an 7 year old vehicle and out of warranty . I would have to pay for the diagnostic of $190 . I after my research on google facts that there’s been recalls on this matter on 2019 rams . I shouldn’t be charged for a diagnosis if this a recall matter. Thank you in advance for correspondent and taking the time to read my concern. First off the service shifter keeps coming on and off every time I take it to the dealership it’s off so they can’t read the code. Then the parking sensors keep coming on saying unavailable. Today when the service shifter came on, it went right back off and then when I went to turn onto the highway it felt like the truck stalled for a second then it started driving normal again and down the road. The service shifter light came back on, then went off. All recalls have been fixed on this vehicle and when I took it in and was charged $300 for a diagnostic, they couldn’t figure out what was wrong because the light wasn’t on anymore.

Vehicle has sweet smell of coolant/antifreeze in the cab regularly. Appears to be a heater core leak. This is a safety issue due to potential engine failure and inhaling toxic chemical odors in the cab.

Incident Description: I am reporting three recurring safety hazards with my 2019 Ram 1500. 1. Intermittent ABS/ESC Error: The vehicle recently displayed an ABS error message on the dashboard. The error cleared itself after the vehicle was power-cycled (shut off and restarted). This intermittent failure of the Anti-lock Braking System and Electronic Stability Control is a severe safety risk, as the system could fail during an emergency braking event. My VIN is currently excluded from Recall 24V-653, despite my vehicle exhibiting the exact symptoms described. 2. Unintended Forward Lunging: Before reaching operating temperature (cold start), the truck abruptly lunges forward while idling or under light braking. This occurs without driver input and has been reported by numerous other Ram owners as a cause for rear-end collisions. 3. "Shift into P than Desire Gear" Error: While coming to a stop, the dashboard displays "Shift into P than Desire Gear," and the transmission slips into Neutral. This causes a sudden loss of motive power in traffic. I am aware of reports where this has caused vehicles to "lock up" or stall at higher speeds. Safety Risk: The combination of an unpredictable transmission (lunging/slipping to neutral) and an intermittent ABS failure makes this vehicle unsafe to operate. The manufacturer's current recall list for the 2019 model year is clearly incomplete, as my vehicle is suffering from these documented defects but remains ineligible for a recall repair.

I am writing to report a critical safety defect in my vehicle, a 2019 Ram 1500 Big Horn , involving a catastrophic failure of the heater core (heater coil). This failure creates an unreasonable risk to motor vehicle safety as defined under 49 U.S.C. § 301. Safety Risk 1: Acute Toxicity and Driver Impairment The failed component is releasing vaporized ethylene glycol directly into the passenger cabin through the HVAC vents. Per CDC and ATSDR documentation, these fumes are known to cause respiratory distress and neurological impairment, including dizziness and confusion. While operating the vehicle, these fumes caused [describe your symptoms, e.g., dizziness or coughing], creating an immediate risk of a crash. Safety Risk 2: Severe Visual Obstruction The vapor creates a persistent, oily film on the interior of the windshield that cannot be cleared by the defrost system. This "flash-fogging" has severely restricted my field of vision during operation, which mirrors safety risks identified in NHTSA Recall 24V-011. Safety Risk 3: Electrical and Fire Hazard Liquid coolant is currently leaking into the dashboard area, which houses critical wiring harnesses and electronic control modules. This exposure to conductive fluid poses a high risk of electrical short-circuits and potential vehicle fire, as documented in previous NHTSA investigations (e.g., Recall 26V012). Supporting Information: * VIN: [XXX] * Current Mileage: 93000 * Incident Date: January 17 2026 I request that the NHTSA open a Preliminary Evaluation into this model’s heater core assembly to determine if a safety-related recall is warranted. The dash cover has separated from the main dash component. RAM cannot confirm this will not impede the proper deployment of safety airbags in case of a head on collision. This is more than a visual issue, it's a safety issue. Looking online at RAM forums, this has been a common issue with the dash for many RAM owners.

Rear passaenger door handle broke preventing the door from staying closed. A passenger had to sit in the back seat(with seatbelt on) to hold door close inorder to get truck home. When home, I used Cargo Straps and strapped the inside door handles from drivers side to passenger side to keep the door closed. Made dealer aware of issue and they are not able to get me in to fix until Dec 31 (2 weeks from now) only cause I had another previously scheduled appointment on that date for another issue. This same exact problem happend back in Dec 2023 which was fixed by the dealer. It only happens WHEN ITS COLD AND FREEZING out.

Dashboard has bubbled. I contacted the dealership because I have an extended warranty with CNA and the claim was denied due to weather/ sun damage. My truck is a 2019 model and should not have this issue. The Service Rep. at the dealership told me he has noticed several dodge vehicles with the same issue. He said the glue that was used was an inferior adhesive. He said they recently repaired a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the same problem.

I have a rear window leak that is that is from a manufacturing defect, as described in this TSB: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2023/MC-10247466-9999.pdf I originally took the vehicle into the dealer in advance of my factory extended warranty expiring and they said they would call me back to schedule a fix/replacement. They never did. Now, my extended warranty has expired and when I went back in to schedule, they are saying that the repair will not be covered, despite the TSB and warranty extension being in place because the "XL1" code does not show up in their system. The dealer instructed me to call Stellantis Customer Care, where I was connected with an overseas call center that said they were unable to do anything and that I should return the vehicle to the dealer, who already told me they will not cover the repair. It has been several months of back and forth and I would like to get this corrected before I go through ANOTHER winter season with a leak.

I have a leaking rear window which is well known in RAM trucks. I had it into the dealership and they said they sprayed a seal around it, I still have a heavy leak of water on both sides, damaging my interior seats and more . I am looking for some help on getting this fixed as I have be stone walled so far.

After starting the 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn in the morning, or after starting the truck and putting it in Drive, the vehicle sometimes shifts itself from Drive into Neutral as we come to a stop. When this happens, the gear indicator on the dashboard begins blinking and displays the message: “Shift to P then desired gear.” On one occasion, as my wife was merging onto the freeway in front of an 18-wheeler, the vehicle suddenly went into Neutral as she slowed down to merge. When she pressed the gas pedal, the truck did not move, putting her in immediate danger and forcing her to coast while traffic approached from behind. This issue has made the vehicle unsafe to drive because it can unexpectedly drop into Neutral at critical moments for example, while crossing lanes, merging, or pulling into intersections. There are no warning lights or alerts before this occurs. Sometimes, the truck will lunge forward or move forward unexpectedly when slowing down. Other times, it just rolls even though we are pressing the gas because it’s actually in Neutral. The problem has been repeatedly reported to the local dealership, which has replaced several parts -including the transmission and performed multiple repair attempts, but the issue continues. No other independent mechanic or third party has inspected the vehicle only the local dealership. Due to the ongoing safety hazard and repeated failure to repair, I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this issue. The unpredictable shifting poses a serious risk to drivers/passengers and others on the road.

Hello. There is a recall on this vehicle (VB1) for vehicles manufactured up to 10/2019 My vehicle was manufactured 12/2019 with the same defective EGR COOLER that caused the recall on this vehicle. The manufacturer is saying they will not take car of the issue under warranty as my VIN number is not included in the recall. They are saying I need to contact you folks to include my VIN number into the recall. Are they correct? Are you able to assist in that? Really appreciate any help or guidance on this. Thanks [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

A cracked backlite frame resulting in an interior water leak (crack is visible from the outside). Water leaks from the top of the backlite. There is a recall under Warranty Bulletins: U.S. D-23-17 (TSB: 23-098-23) for the same make, year, and model as this vehicle, but it is not listed as a specific recall for this VIN. In addition to the risk of mold in the vehicle, electronics located below the leak, such as the RF Module beneath the rear seat, could also be damaged. This could lead to the inability to remotely start the vehicle, or even start it at all, due to the module being used to recognize the key fob before the vehicle starts. This could strand an individual and represent a safety concern in this aspect. The problem is well known on other vehicles; see the previous reference for Warranty Bulletins: U.S. D-23-17 (TSB: 23-098-23). However, it is not listed for this VIN. The dealer and auto body shops have inspected the problem, and they can confirm that this matches the problem listed in the TSB. No warnings or messages, as this is a common manufacturing defect for this vehicle's make, model, and year. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
