Recalls and investigations

  1. Air bags, frontal, passenger side, inflator moduleJan 2, 2020

Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester, 2003-2006 Baja, 2004-2011 Impreza, 2004-2014 WRX (including STI), 2003-2014 Legacy and Outback, and 2005-2006 Saab 9-2X vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the states of Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, New Hampshire, New York, North Dakota, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming or "Zone C." These vehicles had their passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.

An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

Subaru will notify their owners. General Motors will notify Saab owners. Dealers will replace the passenger air bag inflators, free of charge. The recall began January 7, 2020. Subaru owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Saab owners may contact the Saab Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-955-9007. Subaru's number for this recall is TKC-20.

  4. Electrical system, ignition, switchApr 11, 2019

Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain 2009-2013 Forester vehicles, 2008-2011 Impreza vehicles, 2008-2014 WRX vehicles, 2005-2014 Legacy vehicles, 2005-2014 Outback vehicles and 2006-2008 Tribeca vehicles equipped with a mechanical key ignition switch installed as a replacement part. The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.

The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. If a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.

Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the ignition switch, replacing the ignition switch, if necessary, free of charge. The recall began May 10, 2019. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-844-373-6614. Subaru's number for this recall is WUF-91.

  11. Visibility, windshield wiper/washer, motorSep 27, 2016

Subaru of America, Inc. (Subaru) is recalling certain model year 2010-2014 Legacy vehicles manufactured November 26, 2008, to June 7, 2013, and 2010-2014 Outback vehicles manufactured January 9, 2009 to June 7, 2013. Due to contamination, components within the windshield wiper motor bottom cover may interfere with each other. If an obstruction, such as a buildup of snow or ice prevents the wiper arms from being able to stop in the parked position, the wiper motor may overheat and the bottom cover may melt.

If the windshield wiper motor overheats, the wipers may fail, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash. Additionally, the wiper motor cover may melt, increasing the risk of a fire.

Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield wiper motor bottom cover assembly, free of charge. The recall began October 2016. Owners may contact Subaru customer service at 1-800-782-2783. Subaru's number for this recall is WTK-71. Note: This recall supersedes recall 11V-469. All vehicles that were remedied under that campaign are affected by this campaign, and need to have their wiper motor bottom cover replaced again.

  13. Visibility, sun/moon roof assemblyMar 5, 2013

Subaru is recalling certain model year 2012 Outback and Legacy vehicles manufactured from April 6, 2011, through May 12, 2011. The moonroof glass may come loose or detach. The amount and position of the adhesive between the glass and retainer was inadequately applied.

The moonroof glass can loosen and detach from the vehicle during driving, resulting in a potential road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the risk of a crash.

Subaru has notified the affected owners, and dealers will inspect the glass adhesion condition and either apply additional adhesive or replace the moonroof glass, free of charge. The safety recall began February 22, 2013. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783.

  14. Electrical systemFeb 25, 2013

Subaru is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 Legacy and Outback vehicles equipped with an automatic or CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory, certain model year 2012-2013 Impreza vehicles equipped with a CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory, and certain model year 2013 XV Crosstrek vehicles equipped with a CVT transmission and an Audiovox remote engine starter (RES) accessory. Additionally included are certain model year 2013 Legacy and Outback vehicles that may have received replacement RES fobs. If the RES fob is dropped, the fob may malfunction and randomly transmit an engine start request without pressing the button.

The engine may inadvertently start and run for up to fifteen minutes. The engine may continue to start and stop until the fob battery is depleted, or until the vehicle runs out of fuel. If the vehicle is parked in an enclosed area, there is a risk of carbon monoxide build-up which may cause headaches, dizziness or, in extreme cases, unconsciousness and/or asphyxiation.

Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will replace the RES key fobs, free of charge. The recall began on April 22, 2013. Owners may contact Subaru at 1-800-782-2783 for more information.

KEY IS STUCK IN IGNITION AND WILL NOT COME OUT. VEHICLE HAS TO BE RE-STARTED, MOVED BACK AND FORTH 3-4 TIMES BEFORE KEY WILL COME OUT. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH MANY SUBARUS, THERE ARE A VARIETY OF QUICK-FIX VIDEOS ONLINE AND COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS IN AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS. SUBARU IS DEFINITELY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.

  2. Power train, Oct 14, 2019

AFTER 7 YEARS OF DILIGENT CARE OF MY 2012 OUTBACK, MY TRANSMISSION IS FAILING. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE IN MY MAKE AND MODEL. THIS WILL COST ME $7K OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE. SUBARU CLAIMS TO HAVE 'QUALITY AS OUR HIGHEST PRIORITY', BUT DID NOT ADDRESS THIS KNOWN ISSUE AND HAVE PUT THE BURDEN ON THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS IS MY THIRD SUBARU, AND IT WOULD BE NICE IF THE COMPANY STOOD BEHIND THEIR WORK AND SUPPORTED THEIR CUSTOMERS

  3. Power train, Oct 2, 2019

MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN STALLING WHEN COMING TO A STOP, IT STARTS TO SHUDDER WHEN SLOWING THEN STALLS AT STOP. SAFETY IS BECOMING AN ISSUE WHEN IN TRAFFIC, OR ON HIGHWAY IN STOP AND GO. THERE HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL FOR TORQUE CONVERTER ISSUES OR CVT TRANSMISSIONS JUST EXTENDED WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY THERE WERE NOT ISSUES WHEN THIS WAS EXTENDED. THIS IS ON A 2012 SUBARU OUTBACK, WITH 130,000 MILES

  4. Power train, Sep 26, 2019

ACCELERATING FROM A STOPPED POSITION, OR FROM A LOW SPEED AS WHEN MAKING A TURN OR MERGING, THE VEHICLE JERKS AND BUCKS, COMES TO A NEAR STALL AT LEAST ONCE EACH TIME, MORE OFTEN 2 OR 3 TIMES IN QUICK SUCCESSION, UNTIL THE VEHICLE GAINS MORE SPEED, APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, AND THE SYMPTOMS SUBSIDE. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN OUT OF NECESSITY A MAXIMUM 20 MILES ON A FEW DAYS SINCE SYMPTOMS BEGAN, CONSISTENTLY BUCKING AND NEAR STALLING IN THOSE CONDITIONS, CAUSING TRAFFIC DISTURBANCES AND ENDANGERING MY FAMILY, MYSELF, AND OTHER DRIVES ON THE ROAD. 4 DAYS LATER THE DASH LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE DRIVING-CHECK ENGINE, FLASHING EMERGENCY BRAKE, TRACTION CONTROL, FLASHING AT TEMP OIL-I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OFF THE ROAD, BUCKING AND NEAR STALLING ALL THE WAY. CAR WAS TOWED. ODB-II CODES WERE-TRANSMISSION CONTROL MALFUNCTION, AND TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID CENTRAL CIRCUIT. MECHANIC SAYS CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR. BACKGROUND CHECKING SHOWS THAT INSTEAD OF A RECALL, A WARRANTY WAS PUT IN PLACE THEN DUE TO THE EXTENT OF THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS, WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED, AND SUBARU REFUSES TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO RESOLVE THIS UNSAFE, EXPENSIVE, AND KNOWN ISSUE. THERE IS ADDITIONALLY A SULEV EMISSIONS WARRANTY WHICH COVERS THIS, BUT IT ONLY GOES TO 150,000 MILES AND IS NOT A SAFETY ISSUE.

  5. Service brakes, Sep 21, 2019

WHILE TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON I70 , 10 MILES EAST OF COLBY, KS AT 75 MPH, THE ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE ENGAGED CAUSING THE CAR TO SLOW DOWN AND SWERVE. THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH STARTED FLASHING ON THE DASH ALONG WITH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND SWERVE LIGHT. I STOPPED THE CAR AND CONSULTED THE MANUAL WHICH INDICATED NOT TO DRIVE THE CAR. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO A MECHANIC IN COLBY. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR WAS TOWED TO DENVER SUBARU DEALER, WHERE IT IS NOW.

  6. Power train, Aug 21, 2019

2012 SUBARU OUTBACK WITH APPROX. 122,000 MILES. THE CVT TRANSMISSION BEGAN RASPING WHILE UNDER ACCELERATION. RANDOMLY, AND OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL DAYS, THE VEHICLE STALLED, PARTICULARLY WHEN RAPIDLY DECELERATING UNDER BRAKING CONDITIONS. THIS REQUIRED THE VEHICLE TO BE SHIFTED INTO PARK OR NEUTRAL AND RESTARTED. ONLINE, I DISCOVERED THAT THERE IS A RATHER LENGTHY HISTORY OF PROBLEMS WITH THIS SUBARU TRANSMISSION, AND THAT SUBARU, APPARENTLY TO AVOID A RECALL, EXTENDED ITS WARRANTY ON THE 2012 OUTBACK TO JULY 31, 2018 OR 100,000 MILES, WHICHEVER CAME FIRST. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THE WARRANTY EXTENSION, A FACT THAT SUBARU USA ON JULY 29, 2019 TACITLY ACKNOWLEDGE (THEY SAID THEY HAD NO RECORD THAT I HAD BEEN NOTIFIED), BUT SUBARU USA SAID, DESPITE THIS, THAT THE WARRANTY DATE AND MILEAGE HAD NOW EXPIRED AND THEY COULD DO NOTHING FOR ME. SUBARU USA ALSO ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COST OF $9500 WAS "QUITE HIGH" AND TOLD ME THAT AS A "GOOD WILL" GESTURE THEY WERE PREPARED TO OFFER ME $1500 CREDIT TOWARD THE PURCHASE OF A NEW SUBARU.

  7. Power train, Aug 10, 2019

MY 2012 SUBARU OUTBACK ENGINE WILL SHUT OFF WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP WHEN EXITING A FREEWAY, COMING TO A STOP ON A SIDE STREET. SPEED DOES NOT PLAY A FACTOR IN THIS. THIS HAPPENS INTERMITTENTLY AND CLEARLY, IS A SAFETY ISSUE! I NEVER RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION ON THIS MATTER FROM SUBARU THAT THERE IS A KNOWN DEFECT WITH THE TORQUE CONVERTER IN THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN AND STILL SHOULD BE A RECALL. FATALITIES COULD BE A RESULT OF THIS! SUBARU NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE AND NOT JUST BY EXTENDING THE WARRANTY. AGAIN THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISUUE!

  8. Power train, Aug 9, 2019

THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE TRAVELING AT A HIGH SPEED DOWN THE INTERSTATE WITH NO WARNING. AFTER DOING FURTHER RESEARCH SUBARU IS VERY AWARE OF THIS CVT ISSUES AND HAS TAKEN A VERY POOR AND LIMITED APPROACH TO STAND BEHIND AND FIX THIS ISSUE. THEY TOLD ME AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WAS ON MY OWN TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR AND IT WAS A 10K FIX.

  9. Power train, Aug 1, 2019

MY OUTBACK STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP. IT WOULD DO IT RANDOMLY BUT NOW IT DOES IT ALL THE TIME. SUBARU WON'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME EXCEPT TELL ME HOW MUCH IT WILL COST TO FIX THE TORCH CONVERTER WITHOUT EVEN CHECKING IT ON THEIR COMPUTER. I HAVE HEARD OF SEVERAL ISSUES WITH THE CVT AND I WANT TO KNOW FOR SURE.

  10. Other or unspecified, Jul 25, 2019

CVT TRANSMISSION / TORQUE CONVERTER. MY VEHICLE IS JUST OVER 100K AND SUBARU WON'T COVER THE FULL REPAIR. MY CAR HAS STALLED IN VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ON THE HIGHWAY AND INTERSECTIONS. LOCAL DEALER HAS CONFIRMED THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER / CVT NEEDS REPAIRED. IT'S TERRIBLE TO KNOW THAT NHTSA WON'T ISSUE A FORMAL RECALL WAITING FOR FATALITIES TO FORCE THE DECISION.

  11. Power train, Jul 17, 2019

MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING THIS VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STARTED SHAKING AND STALLED. THANK GOD THE CARS AROUND HER AVOIDED HITTING HER. SHE COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED. WE TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 117 THOUSAND MILES ON IT. I HAVE LOOKED AND IT SEEMS LIKE THERE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF TRANSMISSION FAILURES WITH THIS VEHICLE. BECAUSE OF THIS THEY OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO 100000 MILES BUT NOTHING OVER THIS.AND NO RECALL.THEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO DO A RECALL. THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION FAILURE IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGH WAY. IT IS ALSO VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX WE ARE BEING TOLD IT WILL COST 10000 DOLLARS WHICH WE CAN NOT DO. WE ARE NOT COVERED UNDER THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE IT IS OVER 100000 MILES.

  12. Power train, Jul 10, 2019

WHILE IN MOTION,THE CVT TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. CAUSING THE CAR TO STOP FORWARD MOTION. IF THIS HAD HAPPENED IN TRAFFIC, IT COULD CAUSE A ACCIDENT. THIS IS A SERIES SAFETY ISSUE. CVT TRANSMISSION IS A SEALED UNIT, NO SERVICEABLE PARTS. CAR IS 11K OUTSIDE WARRANTY. ONLY REPAIR IS 8K REPLACEMENT.

  13. Other or unspecified, Jul 3, 2019

I HAVE JUST BEEN TOLD TODAY THAT WILL NEED A NEW CVT TRANSMISSION FOR MY 2012 OUTBACK. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM FOR SUBARU DURING THIS MODEL YEAR. INSTEAD OF ISSUING A RECALL, THEY HAVE CHOSEN TO GIVE A LIMITED EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THIS ISSUE. THEY HAVE NOT OWNED UP TO THE PROBLEM AND ARE NOT HELPING CUSTOMERS OUT WITH THIS ISSUE. WHAT ASSURANCE DO I HAVE THAT A NEW SUBARU WON'T HAVE THE SAME ISSUE? I ENJOYED BY OUTBACK AND AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS OUTCOME. I HAVE TAKEN IT FOR REGULAR SERVICING AND DON'T ABUSE A VEHICLE AND IT HAS BEEN RELIABLE TO THIS POINT. PLEASE ADVISE AS TO WHY WON'T OWN UP TO THIS ISSUE AND ISSUE A RECALL FOR THIS COMMON PROBLEM. THEY CURRENTLY HAVE IN PLACE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY OF 100,000 FOR THIS ISSUE. I DARE SAY VERY FEW SUBARUS ARE ON THE ROAD AFTER NINE YEARS WITH LESS THAN 100,000.

  14. Other or unspecified, Jun 26, 2019

MY KEY WILL NOT COME OUT OF THE IGNITION PROPERLY. TAKES 30 MINUTES SOMETIMES. I CANNOT LEAVE MY CAR WITH THE KEY IN THE IGNITION. MAINTENANCE REP SAYS THERE IS A TSB ADDRESSING THIS KNOWN ISSUE, BUT WILL NOT BE FIXED UNLESS I PAY $700+ TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SHIFT ASSEMBLY. SOMETHING ABOUT THE PARK INDICATOR IS KNOWN TO NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY. HOW CAN THEY CHARGE CUSTOMERS THIS OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT, WHEN THEY KNOW THERE IS A DEFECT IN THE SHIFT ASSEMBLY AND HAS BEEN SINCE 2010. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING FOR OVER SIX MONTHS IN MY VEHICLE AND IS GETTING WORSE EACH TIME. THE INTERNET IS FILLED WITH SUBARU OWNERS OF ALL MAKES, MODELS, AND YEARS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM.

  15. Other or unspecified, Jun 22, 2019

OUR VEHICLE HAS 162,000 MILES. THE VALVE BODY TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED DUE TO KNOWN DEFECT OF THIS MAKE, MODEL, AND YEAR VEHICLE. THIS HAS BEEN AND CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM FOR THESE VEHICLES WITH NO RECALL MADE.

ONE DAY DRIVING HOME I NOTICED THAT THE CRUISE CONTROL LIGHT AND THE PARKING BRAKE LIGHTS WERE FLASHING. ALONG WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS BEING ON STEADY. THE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE DRIVING ON ANY ROAD OR STATIONARY. UNHOOKING BATTERY TERMINALS CLEARS THE LIGHTS FROM ANYWHERE BETWEEN A COUPLE HOURS TO SEVERAL WEEKS. I HAVE DONE RESEARCH AND SEEN THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE VEHICLES AND NOTHING THAT IS DONE FIXES IT.

WHILE GETTING ON AN OFF RAMP VEHICLE STALLED GOING 45MPH DUE TO THE VALVE BODY IN TRANSMISSION LOCKING UP. SUBARU HAS KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ISSUE AND RELEASED A BULLETIN: 16-90-13R, BUT ONLY WILL FIX IF THE ISSUE ARISES AND NOT BEFORE. THIS ISSUE DOES NOT GRADUALLY SHOW UP BUT RATHER HAPPENS ALL AT ONCE.

VEHICLE SHUDDERS WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND WILL STALL WHEN GOING FROM STOPPED TO MOTION. SUBARU REPLACED THE TORQUE CONVERTER 2 YEARS AGO AND TOLD US THIS WOULD FIX THE ISSUE AND IT DID FOR A LITTLE WHILE. THE VEHICLE IS NOW DOING THE EXACT SAME THING--STALLING OUT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. SUBARU DETERMINED THAT IT WAS ONCE AGAIN A FAULTY/BAD TORQUE CONVERTER--SO THIS SEEMS LIKE AN ISSUE WITH SUBARU TORQUE CONVERTERS. THE FIRST TIME, THEY ADMITTED THEIR MISTAKE AND PAID FOR THE REPAIR. I ASKED THEM AGAIN TO COVER IT AND WAS EVEN TOLD ON THE PHONE BY A SUBARU REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE TORQUE CONVERTER IN A VEHICLE SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE BAD THE FIRST TIME, MUCH LESS THE SECOND TIME...BUT SINCE MY MILEAGE IS OVER THEIR "GOODWILL" LIMIT FOR THE WARRANTY EXTENSION, THEY WILL NOT FULLY COVER THE REPAR/REPLACEMENT OF THE TORQUE CONVERTER A SECOND TIME (AFTER HAVING THE NEW ONE FOR 2 YEARS, ONLY 45,000 MILES.) I KNOW THAT WE ARE NOT THE ONLY CONSUMERS THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TOO AND AS IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THEIR TORQUE CONVERTERS AND A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE, MY HOPE IS THAT THIS WILL PROMPT A RECALL OR IN SOME WAY, HAVE SUBARU FIX THEIR MISTAKES AND NOT PUT IT OFF ON THE CONSUMER, AS IF WE JUST HAPPENED TO PURCHASE A LEMON OR SOMETHING.

VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY STALLS WHILE STOPPED AT A STREET LIGHT. DEALER SAYS IT IS PROBABLY TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKUP. HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES WHILE WAITING TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN. VEHICLE HAS 135K MILES ON IT. SEEMS LIKE A LEGITIMATE SAFETY ISSUE TO ME.

WHILE DRIVING APPROX. 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY, 5/12/19, IN LIGHT RAIN/MIST WITH MILD TEMPS AROUND 50 DEGREES F., I HEARD A SUDDEN "BAM!" AND THOUGHT MY WINDSHIELD WAS SHOT AT BY A SHOTGUN BUT IT WASN'T. KEPT DRIVING BUT HEARD A SWOOSHING OF AIR SOUND. ALL WINDOWS WERE UP SO I SLID THE SHADE PANEL OPEN TO SEE THE SUNROOF AND SAW A HOLE THE SHAPE OF TENNESSEE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SUNROOF WITH THE GLASS AROUND THE HOLE POINTING UPWARD....AS THOUGH IT WAS A FORCED EXPLOSION FROM THE INSIDE OUT. NO BROKEN GLASS OR FOREIGN OBJECT WAS FOUND LAYING INSIDE THE SHADE PANEL. NO ROCK OR METEORITE WAS SEEN FLYING MY WAY WHILE DRIVING. EITHER AN OBJECT FELL FROM THE SKY DIRECTLY INTO THE CENTER OF MY SUNROOF OR THE SUNROOF EXPLODED ON ITS OWN.

TAKARA RECALL. I DO NOT FEEL THAT MY CAR IS NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT IT MAY TAKE SEVERAL MONTHS TO GET THE PART IN TO DO THE RECALL FOR THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. MOST THE TIME THERE ARE SMALL CHILDREN IN MY CAR, AND MOST THE TIME A PASSENGER IN THE PASSENGER SEAT.

  23. Other or unspecified, May 8, 2019

THE EARLIEST DATE FOR SCHEDULE OF RECALL IS AUGUST. DOES THAT SEEM SENSIBLE IF THE PROBLEM IS SERIOUS? THE SOLUTION TO SOLVE THE LARGE NUMBER OF PEOPLE NEEDING REMEDIATION IS REQUIRING ADDITION STAFF TO KEEP THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT OPEN, AROUND THE CLOCK, IF NECESSARY.

VEHICLE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY URGENT SAFETY CONCERN. THIS ALSO SEEMS TO HAVE CAUSED INCONSISTENT STARTING ISSUES. I HAVE REPLACED THE STARTER AND STILL HAVE ISSUES. SEEMS TO BE A TORQUE CONVERTER PROBLEM. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS AND HAS NOT BEEN ADEQUATELY ADDRESSED BY SUBARU WITH AN AVAILABLE FIX IN A RECALL.
