  3. Service brakes, hydraulic, foundation components, master cylinderDec 13, 2018

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Toyota Tacoma vehicles. Improper machining of the brake master cylinder may result in internal damage of one of the seals, affecting brake performance.

Reduced brake performance can lengthen the distance needed to stop the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Truck has strong smell of fuel in the cab

  2. Fuel/propulsion system, Oct 1, 2025

The fuel pump as stopped working the vehicle will not start and the 4x4 is showing that it is not working. The vehicle is available for inspection. Thankfully this happened while the vehicle was sitting over night but we had driven it the evening before it just stopped running. the Fuel system could have failed while we were driving anywhere. It has not been inspected by anyone else. it is sitting in our driveway and my husband has done a lot of trouble shooting as to what could be wrong and all arrows point to the fuel pump. there have been no check engine light or nothing this came out of nowhere.

yes has been inspected by the manufacturer and they fixed it but I want to file a claim.

  4. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 10, 2025

On June 26, 2025, around 9:30 AM, I was driving my Tacoma on the highway at approximately 70 mph when the truck suddenly lost power. I was in the center lane and nearly got hit as I tried to exit the highway. After exiting, the engine warning light came on, and the truck eventually stalled. I was able to restart it with limited power and drove it to a nearby shop. The shop's diagnosis revealed several warning codes, and the fuel pressure was found to be only 14 psi. They recommended replacing the low-pressure fuel pump. After researching known fuel pump issues, I had the truck towed to a local Toyota dealership. The dealership confirmed the codes but couldn’t replicate the low-pressure reading after driving for about 30 miles. Because of this, they stated that it didn’t qualify for the extended recall offered by Toyota. Toyota refused to replace the pump, arguing that the recall had already been performed in 2020 and that the low pressure reading came from a non-Toyota repair shop. My response was: how can they be sure that the pump replaced under the recall wasn’t faulty as well? No answer In the end, I had no choice but to cover the repair costs myself. However, I made sure to get the old pump back from the dealership and documented its manufacturing details to support my claim moving forward.

  5. Fuel/propulsion system, Jun 11, 2025

The.truck won’t turn on. We checked it with a diagnostic tool and it was confirmed that it was the fuel pump.

  6. Service brakes, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 18, 2024

Unknown it changed and I have not kept track of new or old details.

  7. Fuel/propulsion system, Forward collision avoidance, Oct 23, 2023

Vehicle stalling on freeway and almost crashed multiple times and dealership is saying they already fixed the recall on my truck but still doing same thing as reports say

  8. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 5, 2022

When accelerating on highway check engine light started flashing and engine running rough. Pulled over and stopped vehicle turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle and light was out no longer running rough. Toyota dealer checked computer, cylinder #2 misfired 47 times & cylinder #3 misfired 3 times. They said they could not find what had created this problem and still charged me for engine diagnostics.

  9. Fuel/propulsion system, Sep 28, 2022

The vehicle every time I fuel either does start afterwards or it would start and drive for about 3-6 minutes then it will stall. The very first time it happened was on the highway which I didn’t know why my car had stall but now that it has done it right at the fuel pump and also more often than not. I tried using other gas stations just to rule out bad fue but it has been like this for the past 6 month. I have taken it to Toyota MCDONOUGH in Georgia and they could not give a diagnostic because the check engine light does not stays on and they said they can’t replicate the problem.

  10. Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 11, 2021

TOYOTA DEALER KNOWINGLY SOLD ME A 2018 40K MILES TACOMA WITH AN OPEN RECALL REGARDING FAILING LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP THAT CAN STALL AT HIGH SPEED. THIS WAS NOT DISCLOSED AT TIME OF PURCHASE. DRIVING VEHICLE ON A SIDE STREET GOING APPROX 20 MILES PER HOUR . CAR STARTED SHAKING AND LOST MAJORITY OF POWER. HAD VEHICLE TOWED NEXT DAY TO SAME DEALERSHIP WHO HAD RECENTLY REPLACED FUEL PUMP UNDER A RECALL (PAPERWORK FOR THIS RECALL IS WHAT WAS EXPERIENCED /STALLING DANGERS) . DEALERSHIP TOLD US NOT FUEL PUMP BUT WIRING HARNESS NEEDED REPLACEMENT BECAUSE RODENTS ATE THE WIRING ( SOY BEAN COVERING ON NEWER VEHICLES )AND ENGINE LOST POWER BECAUSE OF THIS . THANK GOODNESS NOT ON A HIGHWAY GOING 75 MPH. WHEN THIS HAPPENED AS WE VERY WELL COULD OF BEEN . TOLD WE NEED TO DETER THESE RODENTS FROM CONTINUING ANY MORE DAMAGE . WONDER WHY COMPANY WOULD USE A PRODUCT . THANK YOU.

  12. Fuel/propulsion system, Oct 17, 2020

THIS WAS A RECALL DATED JANUARY 13, 2020. I FEEL DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECALL THAT A REMEDY SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED BY NOW. BUT RECALL INCOMPLETE AS OF 10/17/2020. SUMMARY: THE SUBJECT VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH A LOW-PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WHICH MAY STOP OPERATING. IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, WARNING LIGHTS AND MESSAGES MAY BE DISPLAYED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, AND THE ENGINE MAY RUN ROUGH. THIS MAY RESULT IN A VEHICLE STALL, AND THE VEHICLE MAY BE UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED. SAFETY RISK: IF A VEHICLE STALL OCCURS WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHER SPEEDS, THIS COULD INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH.

I WAS ADVISED THAT THE REMEDY WOULD BE AVAILABLE AT THE END OF MARCH, BEGINNING OF APRIL. THEN I WAS ADVISED THAT IT WOULDN'T BE UNTIL THE END OF SEPTEMBER, MIDDLE OF OCTOBER. MEANWHILE, MY TRUCK IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY ACCUMULATING ADDITIONAL ISSUES BECAUSE I WAS INSTRUCTED NOT TO DRIVE IT.
