General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Buick Verano and Chevrolet Cruze vehicles. The left and/or right-side roof-rail air bag (RRAB) inflators located on the roof rails above the headliner, may rupture at the inflator weld joint.
An inflator that ruptures may partially inflate the air bag and cause sharp metal fragments to enter or exit the vehicle, increasing the risk of an injury.
Dealers will replace the left and/or right-side RRAB modules, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 5, 2025. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 Buick Verano and 2016 Chevrolet Malibu as the electronic park lock lever may allow the ignition key to be removed without the transmission being in PARK. Also, certain 2013 Buick Encore, 2011 Buick Regal, 2013-2014 Buick Verano, 2011-2016 Chevrolet Cruze, 2010-2013 Chevrolet Equinox 2013-2015 Chevrolet Malibu, and 2011-2013 GMC Terrain vehicles may have been serviced with similar defective replacement electronic park lock levers. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
If the key is removed without the transmission in PARK, the vehicle may rollaway as occupants are exiting, increasing the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and if necessary replace the key cylinder lock housing, free of charge. The recall began on October 14, 2016. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles manufactured November 8, 2013, to March 12, 2015, and 2015 Chevrolet Volt vehicles manufactured April 11, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the inner tie rod may not be tightened to specification allowing the tie rod to separate from the steering gear.
Separation of the tie rod from the steering gear could result in the loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Buick Encore all-wheel-drive vehicles manufactured August 23, 2012, to September 9, 2013; Verano vehicles manufactured August 8, 2012, to June 20, 2013; Chevrolet Cruze vehicles manufactured August 7, 2012, to August 16, 2013, and 2012-2014 Chevrolet Sonic vehicles manufactured May 10, 2011, to August 16, 2012 equipped with a Calix oil pan/block heater. In cold temperatures, the insulation on the engine block heater cord can become damaged, allowing the wires to be exposed.
Exposed wires increase the risk of electrical shock and personal injury if the cord is handled while it is plugged in.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the engine oil pan/block heater cord with a new cord that is rated for temperatures of minus 40 degree Celsius. The recall began in August 2014. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the driver's front air bag inflator may have been manufactured with an incorrect part.
In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver's air bag, the air bag's inflator may rupture and the air bag may not inflate. The rupture could cause metal fragments to strike and potentially seriously injure the vehicle occupants. Additionally, if the air bag does not inflate, the driver is at an increased risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver side air bag, free of charge. The recall began on June 28, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020. GM's number for this recall is 14305.

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2013 and 2014 Chevrolet Cruze vehicles equipped with a 1.4L turbo engine, and manufactured between November 28, 2012, and March 7, 2014. On the affected vehicles, the right front half shaft may fracture and separate.
If the half shaft fractures and separates while driving, the vehicle would lose power and coast to a stop. If a vehicle with a fractured half shaft is parked without the parking brake applied, the vehicle could move unexpectedly. Either condition increases the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the right half shaft, as needed, free of charge. Parts for the remedy are not currently available. GM will send an interim letter to owners in May 2014. A second owner letter will be mailed when parts are available. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-866-694-6546. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014 Buick Regal, LaCrosse, Verano, and Enclave, and Chevrolet Impala, Malibu, Cruze, and Traverse, and GMC Acadia vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions. In the affected vehicles, the transmission shift cable adjuster may disengage from the transmission shift lever. As such, these vehicles do not conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 102, "Transmission Shift Lever Sequence, Starter Interlock, and Transmission Braking Effect." They also fail to conform to FMVSS number 114, "Theft Protection and Rollaway Prevention."
If a vehicle's shift cable disengages from the transmission shift lever, a driver may be unable to shift gear positions and the indicated shift position may not represent the gear position the vehicle is in. Should a disengagement occur while the vehicle is being driven, when the driver goes to stop and park the vehicle, the driver may be able to shift the lever to the "PARK" position, but the vehicle transmission may not be in the "PARK" gear position. If the vehicle is not in the "PARK" position there is a risk the vehicle will roll away as the driver and other occupants exit the vehicle or anytime thereafter. A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of injury to exiting occupants and bystanders.
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace any affected transmission shift cable adjusters, free of charge. The recall began on April 10, 2014. THE CAR WAS BEING DRIVEN FROM ONE STATE TO THE NEXT. IT WAS A TWO IN A HALF HOUR DRIVE. NOT EVEN A HOUR INTO IT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THE WE MADE SURE TO CHECK EVERYTHING BEFORE WE LEFT HOME. IT WAS FINE. THAN THE AUTO START WOULDN'T WORK. ALLIED ON START AND THEY SAID YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO. BUT I CAN'T. THAN IT STARTED MAKING THIS WEIRD SOUND WHENEVER I DRIVE. I WENT TO AUTOZONE AND THEY SAID THERE'S NOTHING CAUGHT IN IT, IT'S THE ENGINE. NOW WHENEVER I DRIVE AND WAIT AT A RED LIGHT THE CAR STARTS SHAKING A LOT. IT'S RAINING NOW AND I'M SCARED I MY LOSS CONTROL.

THE RADIO FREEZES UP WHILE I AM DRIVING. NONE OF THE RADIO BUTTONS FUNCTION. I CANNOT TURN THE RADIO OFF, CHANGE CHANNEL, ADJUST VOLUME, ETC. I JUST HAD THE SPECIAL COVERAGE REPAIR DONE FOR THE WATER INTRUSION ON THE SIDE DETECTION SYSTEM. THE RADIO WORKED PERFECTLY FINE BEFORE THE SPECIAL COVERAGE WORK WAS PERFORMED. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY INDICATED THAT IT IS NOT RELATED TO THE WATER INTRUSION AND IT WOULD BE $120 JUST TO CONNECT THE COMPUTER TO THE CAR. HE TOLD ME IF IT IS THE RADIO, YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET. I SAW A NEW SPECIAL COVERAGE BULLETIN ABOUT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE CLAMP NOT BEING ABLE TO REMAIN TIGHT TO THE BATTERY TERMINAL ON THE INTERNET. I NEED TO KNOW IF IT APPLIES TO MY 2014 CHEVY CRUZE BECAUSE I DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INFORMATION BY MAIL ON THIS. THANK YOU .

WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY EXITING THE OFFRAMP THAT CURVES TO THE RIGHT. WHEN I TURNED THE STEERING WHEEL IT LOCKED UP AND THE STEREO TURNED OFF. I HAD NO CONTROL OVER THE DIRECTION MY VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING. I APPLIED MY BRAKE, TO KEEP FROM HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I PRESSED MY BRAKE THE STEERING WHEEL UNLOCKED BRIEFLY THEN LOCKED AGAIN. THEN A YELLOW ⚠️ WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND MY CAR BEGAN TO PULL TO THE RIGHT. THE STEREO POWERED ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL RETURNED TO NORMAL. THE YELLOW WARNING ⚠️ LIGHT TURNED OFF. I CONTINUED TO TRAVEL ANOTHER 1.5-2 MILES MORE TO MY HOME AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN. THIS TIME A GREEN DASH LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND SAID SERVICE POWER STEERING. I PARKED MY CAR AT THAT POINT. I AM CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR REPAIR. THE REASON WHY I AM FILING A COMPLAINT IS BECAUSE OF THE DANGER ASSOCIATED WITH THIS TYPE OF MALFUNCTION. IT PUT MY LIFE AND OTHER DRIVERS LIFE IS AT STAKE. THIS IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE WAY FOR A VEHICLE TO FUNCTION. THIS IS NOT THE ONLY TIME I'VE HAD AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE. IT IDLES IRREGULAR AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS CAME ON GIVING ME CODES FOR THINGS LIKE FUEL INJECTORS AND 02 CENSORED AND MAP CENSORS ALSO THE MASS AIRFLOW SENSOR. I HAVE REPLACED ALL OF THESE ALONG WITH A CLEAN AIR FILTER AND THE IDLE TENSION PULLEY IT STARTED SQUEAKING. THIS FIXED NONE OF THE ISSUES. CODES ARE STILL COMING UP FOR PARTS THAT'S REPLACED. I'M PAYING ON A VEHICLE THAT'S NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT DRIVE WHILE IN THE REVERSE POSITION AND THE VEHICLE JERKED AND VIBRATED WHEN SWITCHING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO QUINCY CHEVROLET (2039 WEST JEFFERSON ST, QUINCY, FL), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 9-5538517686. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22,000.

MY 2014 CRUZE HAS A TURBO IN IT TO MAKE IT "ECO" - I.E., RELY ON TURBO FOR BOOST WHEN MORE POWER IS NEEDED RATHER THAN USING MORE GAS. MY CRUZE ENTERED "LIMP MODE" IN JULY WITH 54,000 MILES ON IT. THE TURBO FAILED TO WORK WHILE MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT WAS SHIFTING INTO 4TH GEAR WITH HIGH RPM TO KEEP FREEWAY SPEED. WHEN DIAG BOX WAS LATER PLUGGED IN, THE CODE CAME BACK AS "P0299" - TURBO UNDERBOOST. I ATTEMPTED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR (CODE CAME BACK) AND SOLENOID (CODE BACK AGAIN) AS THEY CAME UP OFTEN IN RESEARCH WHEN LOOKING FOR A SOLUTION. TURBO WORKED FINE FOR A MONTH AND THEN QUIT AGAIN WITH THE SAME CODE AND MY CAR IN LIMP MODE AGAIN. I FILED A COMPLAINT THROUGH GM AND THEY MANAGED TO GET THE PART THAT WAS BACKORDERED INDEFINITELY DUE TO FACTORY WORKERS BEING ON STRIKE. APPARENTLY, GM CUT THEIR HEALTHCARE OVERNIGHT. I'D STRIKE TOO. THE SERVICE PRINTOUT I RECEIVED AFTER REPLACEMENT STATED THAT THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH THE TURBO: "INSPECTED FOR OIL INTRUSION, NONE FOUND WASTEGATE SOLENOID CONNECTOR MISSING RETAINER - DOES NOT AFFECT FUNCTION. BYPASS VALVE OPENS AND CLOSES WHEN COMMANDED. NO AIR INDUCTION RESTRICTION FOUND. RECOMMEND TURBO FOR FAILED BOOST COTROL TEST" THIS SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A FAULTY PART, AND AN EXPENSIVE ONE AT $1,501.86, THAT I PAID FOR BUT DID NOT BREAK. NOT TO MENTION THE SENSOR AND SOLENOID REPLACED PRIOR. MY CAR IS "FIXED", AND RUNS, BUT THIS IS STILL AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE IN GENERAL, AND THE TURBO SHOULD BE RECALLED TO PREVENT FUTURE DANGER FOR OTHERS. I ALSO THINK IT'S BS THAT I'VE HAD TO PAY A MONTH'S RENT FOR A PART THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE FAILED AT ONLY 54,000 MILES. I WILL NOT BE KEEPING THIS CAR AND PAYING ANOTHER MONTH'S RENT IN A YEAR. I WILL ALSO NOT BE DOING BUSINESS WITH ANY GM MANUFACTURER.

WHEN IDLING THE VEHICLE WILL HAVE SMALL FLUCTUATIONS IN RPM THAT MAKE THE CAR FEEL LIKE IT WILL STALL. WHILE DRIVING THE WARNING SIGNS OF "SERVICE STABILI TRAK" AND "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL" AS WELL AS THE ENGINE LIGHT COME ONTO THE DISPLAY ON THE DASH. "BATTERY SAVER MODE" HAS ALSO APPEARED BEFORE. ONCE ALL OF THE CAR LIGHTS AS WELL AS THE RADIO AND OTHER ELECTRONIC PORTIONS OF THE VEHICLE ALL SHUT OFF WHEN THIS HAPPENED INCLUDING POWER STEERING ABILITY. HAVE HAD THE ALTERNATOR AS WELL AS THE ENGINE REPLACED AT MENIKIEE AND THE ISSUE IS STILL PERSISTING.

FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW, I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE RADIO AND DASH LIGHTS WILL SUDDENLY CUT OFF, AND THEN COME BACK ON. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE INSPECTED BUT NO ISSUE WAS FOUND. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO NARROW DOWN WHAT TRIGGERS THE ISSUE TO OCCUR, IT WILL HAPPEN AT RANDOM TIMES. THERE IS NO WAY TO REPLICATE THE EVENT WITHOUT JUST BEING IN THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENS. JUST IN THE LAST 30 MINUTES IT OCCURRED: 1. WHILE ACCELERATING TO 40 MPH; 2. WHILE BREAKING TO COME TO A STOP SIGN; 3. MAINTAINING CONTINUOUS SPEED AT 30 MPH; 4. WHILE STATIONARY, ROLLING UP MY POWER WINDOW; 5. AND, WHILE STATIONARY, FOOT ON BREAK PLACING THE VEHICLE IN PARK. THE RANDOMNESS OF THESE OCCURRENCES AND THE FACT THAT THERE ARE NO SENOR WARNINGS/CODES TO NOTIFY THE DEALERSHIP CONCERNS ME. DEPENDING ON THE TYPE OF COMMUTE, A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION COULD OCCUR WITHOUT WARNING TO THE VEHICLE OPERATOR.

OVER 5 TIMES NOW, WHEN I BEGIN A TURN FROM BEING IDLE, THE SAME OCCURS BUT WITH THE ADDED PROBLEM OF THE WHEEL LOCKING UP AND NOT LETTING ME TURN IT. I HAVE HAD TO STOP ALMOST COMPLETELY WHILE TURNING TO AVOID HITTING SOMETHING HEAD ON WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL GETS LOCKED. PLEASE PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS PROBLEM.

WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START MY VEHICLE IT WILL NOT TURN OVER. THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES ON AND OFF. THE DISPLAY THEN READS SERVICE THEFT DETERRENT SYSTEM. SERVICE TIRE MONITORING AND WILL THEN COMPLETELY LOCK UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME ROUGHLY 4 TIMES IN THE LAST FEW MONTHS. THE ONLY WAY TO GET THE CAR TO START IS WITH A JUMP. THE BATTERY, STARTER AND ALTERNATOR ARE ALL GOOD AND ARE NOT CAUSING THE ISSUE.

ALL THE SUB-SYSTEMS ON THE 2014 CHEVY CRUZE ARE CONTROLLED THROUGH THE RADIO SYSTEM. WHEN BACKING UP, THE BACKUP CAMERA, WHICH IS DISPLAYED THROUGH THE RADIO ENTERTAINMENT SCREEN, DOES NOT ENGAGE. SEVERAL OF THE OTHER SUB-SYSTEMS, INCLUDING THE AC, THE RADIO ITSELF, AND OTHER SYSTEMS ARE ALSO INTERMITTENT WHILE DRIVING THE CAR. IN ORDER TO RESET THE SYSTEM THE CAR HAS HAD TO BE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TURNED OFF COMPLETELY, LET SIT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES, AND THE RESTARTED. AFTER DOING SO THE SYSTEM HAS RESET, BUT HAS DONE THE SAME THING DAYS OR WEEKS LATER. AFTER BRINGING THE CAR IN TO THE DEALER OVER FOUR TIME THE PROBLEMS HAVE YET TO BE RESOLVED.

SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING, IF YOU HIT THE BRAKE OR HIT THE WINDOW SWITCH, THE POWER TO THE RADIO PANEL AND DRIVERS DISPLAY WILL CUT OFF, SOMETIMES THE "SERVICE STABILITRAC" SIGNAL WILL COME UP AND THE POWER WILL COME BACK ON AFTER A FEW SECONDS, WHEN THIS HAPPENS IT WILL ALSO CUT POWER TO THE POWER STEERING, IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED FOR IT OR YOUR NOT AWARE OF THE SITUATION IT CAN SURPRISE YOU, IT CAN BE ESPECIALLY STARTLING WHILE TURNING AND ALL OF A SUDDEN POWER CUTS OUT AND YOU HAVE TROUBLE STEERING, THE CAR WILL STAY RUNNING AND THE POWER WILL CUT FOR A FEW SECONDS, AND THEN EVERYTHING WILL GO BACK TO NORMAL. LOOKING ONLINE THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE EARLIER CHEVY CRUZ. I AM JUST NOT SURE OF THE FULL EXTENT OF THE ISSUE.

UPON LEAVING A STORE THE CAR BEGAN TO SLOW DOWN AS THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL BEGAN TO WOBBLE. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT, STOPPED THEN REVERSED SLOWLY THEN PULLED FORWARD SLOWLY WHEN A PATRON EXITING THE STORE SAID STOP. ONCE I EXITED MY CAR I NOTICED THE PASSENGER FRONT WHEEL SEEMED DISLOCATED FROM THE VEHICLE. THEN TRANSMISSION FLUID BEGIN TO LEAK FROM THE UNDER THE CAR OF THE DISLOCATED WHEEL. IN THE PICTURES THE CAR IS PARKED STRAIGHT BUT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL IS TURNED OUTWARD.

I WAS DRIVING ON 65 S AND I LOST ALL POWER TO MY CAR, MY CAR IS HAVING A HARD TIME STARTING. WENT TO HAVE MY STARTER TESTED AND WASNT THAT, IT'S MY BATTERY AND THE CABLES. ACCELERATION NOTABLY SLUGGISH, TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR CONCERN 3 YEARS AGO WITH COMPLAINTS AND WAS TOLD THERE WERE NO ISSUES. TOOK CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP THIS YEAR DUE TO CHECK ENGINE CODE. TURBO ENGINE DEFECTIVE, GOING TO COST $2200 TO REPAIR. UNDER $60,000 MILE POWER TRAIN BUT JUST HIT THE 5 YEAR WARRANTY 2 DAYS PRIOR TO CALLING DEALERSHIP AND GM. DEALERSHIP UNWILLING TO OFFER FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE DUE TO MISSING PROBLEM DURING ORIGINAL COMPLAINTS 3 YEARS AGO. TOOK CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, WHICH FOUND ADDITIONAL $2000 IN REPAIRS THAT WOULD NEED TO TAKE PLACE IN ORDER FOR TURBO REPAIR TO BE EFFECTIVE. CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, WITH LIKELIHOOD IT WOULD BREAK DOWN IN 10 MIN TO MULTIPLE LEAKS AND BROKEN PARTS ORIGINAL DEALERSHIP MISSED AND FAILED TO DISCUSS. CAR NOW COSTS $3400 TO REPAIR , GM ONLY WILLING TO HELP WITH $600. CAR TOO EXPENSIVE TO REPAIR AND TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.
