  1. Engine and engine cooling, Engine, Jun 26, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving 25 MPH and approaching a red traffic light, the vehicle stalled. There was an oil message flashing on the screen instructing the driver to pull over. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the contact was informed about the GM Customer Satisfaction Program: N212326940. The local dealer was contacted and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and confirmed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 42,000.

  2. Engine, Jun 24, 2026

6-12-26 while driving down the highway the engine suddenly started running rough. Multiple warning lights came on and sounded like a muffled backfire. The truck has confirmed lifter failure as well as camshaft damage enough to where they're replacing an engine I still have no ETA on getting my truck back the truck only has about 72 or 73,000 miles.

  3. Other or unspecified, Jun 23, 2026, fire

While flat towing my pickup truck behind my motorhome, on interstate 94 eastbound, in Minnesota I noticed smoke on my screen in the motorhome back facing camera. I safety pulled over to a truck rest area in Avon Minnesota. I went to investigate and realized that the pickup truck had flames coming from underneath the hood. Because of the fire and heat I wasn’t able to release the pickup truck from the motorhome which ultimately caused the Motorhome to catch fire as well. Police and fire department were called and both the Motorhome and pickup truck were totaled. My insurance company has possession of both vehicles. I previously had electrical problems with the pickup truck and took it to the Chevy dealership to address the issue. Evidence of module overheating with traces of burn were found on one occasion. I’m uploading photos of the police report and work orders from the dealership. No one was injured but all of our belongings were destroyed or damaged from the fire. We were left with nothing but what we had on at the time.

  4. Engine, Jun 23, 2026

While driving, my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L V8 suddenly lost engine power approximately a quarter mile from my home. The vehicle has only 35,000 miles. A check engine light indicated a misfire, and I confirmed cylinder 7 was misfiring. I replaced the spark plug, plug wire, and coil pack, but the misfire continued. The dealership diagnosed a failed lifter in the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system and is disassembling the engine to assess further damage. This matches the widely documented AFM lifter failure pattern in GM 5.3L V8 engines. The sudden loss of motive power while driving created a safety hazard. All maintenance was performed at GM dealerships.

  5. Other or unspecified, Back over prevention, Jun 18, 2026

When backing the sensors fail to notify the driver/operator of forcibly engaging impending objects such as a small child or object by an audible noise alert that increases in loudness as the vehicle gets closer to the child/ person or object. I purchased the Pickup truck in 2020 with 17,000 miles and currently have 28,000 miles. the audible alarm cease to function well over a year ago, as I just became aware of your reporting site. Such safety items as cameras and alarms are not vehicle options. There sole purpose is to save lives!!

  6. Engine, Jun 16, 2026

Purchased 2019 Chevrolet Silverado High Country Edition with the 6.2L engine and 143K miles for my son. The vehicle had a clean service history on Car Fax. On the day we purchased the vehicle, we drove it home and noticed it was shuttering at times. I used my computer scanner and it came back with a misfire cylinder #5. I troubleshot the issues and noted that the most common thing was a spark plug. Therefore, I replaced the spark plug and it drove much better. Two weeks later, my son was driving vehicle on I-40 near Nashville TN and without warning, vehicle stalled, locking steering wheel in place! Check engine lights came on and instructed him to place in neutral and restart, which he promptly did. The vehicle started, but went in limp mode making loud noises in engine before shutting off again. Luckily, traffic was minimal at 8 pm and he was able to get it over to the shoulder and avoid any injuries or accident. Towed it to Nick Mayer Chevrolet in Dickson, TN where they diagnosed it with catastrophic engine failure and needed to be completely replaced. This is the same issue that GM is being sued for and have somehow managed to take the stance that the lifter/cam/DFM issue only existed in 2020-newer models. The 2019 is when they changed to the newer body style and the new Gen V L87 engine in the 6.2. Despite the clean vehicle history, dealership reached out to GM and they stated they would not help cover any repairs but would gladly take 14K to fix it. The 2019-2026 models all need to be recalled due to this safety issue and fixed before catastrophic engine failure claims another victim financially or worse!

  7. Engine, Jun 14, 2026

At 60k miles we had a lifter failure that caused an engine replacement. We were traveling home on I-10 about an hour from the Texas Border. My wife was driving about 70-75mph. We had to loud pops and the truck started shaking badly. The pickup was purchased in May 2021 with 26,450 miles. It has been well maintained, so the lifter failure was a complete surprise. We booked a room at a local hotel (3 nights total). The towing company took it to the local Chevrolet Dealership. The dealership couldn't even look at it for over a week. My brother in-law drove 6 hours from our home with a trailer and we hauled it home. We scheduled an appointment with our purchasing dealership and dropped it off. It took a week to get the diagnoses. It was a lifter failure. Our warranty company authorized an engine replacement, but the dealership wanted to just do a cam shaft and lifter. We were without our truck for over a month. It then cost us $300 plus for componets not covered.

  8. Other or unspecified, Engine, Jun 1, 2026

2019 Silverado experienced sudden engine failure while driving, creating a safety hazard. Had taken vehicle to Serpentine in Tallmadge Ohio for brake repair as well as a ticking sound a couple of times within the past 2 years. Each time the complaint regarding the noise it made was not addressed or documented as they said it was the brakes. While driving the truck, it started clanking and banging, smoking and spewed oil all over engine and ground. The truck is completely inoperable.

  9. Engine, Jun 1, 2026

The engine in my truck failed while driving down the interstate highway (I-10) on May 28, 2026. At the time of failure, a loud popping noise emitted from the engine. Power and speed were reduced as the result of the failure. The Check Engine Light and Service Engine lights illuminated as quickly as the failure occurred. As many vehicles were simultaneously traveling along the highway at speed, my vehicle suddenly slowing down without indication (brake lights) could have inadvertently caused an accident. As a result, I continued driving the vehicle under reduced power to my home which was only approximately 2 miles away. During the 2-mile drive to my home, the loud popping noise intermitted but reduced power was consistent. Diagnostic checks revealed a code P0305 indicating that cylinder #5 was misfiring. Checking the components of that cylinder revealed the intake valve of cylinder #5 was not actuating when the engine was running indicating a failed lifter & camshaft.

  10. Engine, May 30, 2026

The lifters failed at 106634 miles. This caused the motor to lose power while driving. The dealer confirmed and said a new engine was needed. There were no warnings just immediate failure of a part Chevrolet knows very well is an issue but won't do anything about.

  11. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, May 26, 2026

I have a severe safety concern regarding the auto shut off for this Chevy Silverado pick up. Several times I have almost gotten into an accident because while slowing briefly to stop before making a left, turn across traffic, the engine shuts off. When you press the gas, the engine starts back up, but the delay causes a safety concern with oncoming traffic. This feature should have a longer delay or be selectable to turn on. Not require someone to disable it. Every time is driven.

  12. Service brakes, May 25, 2026

While driving my 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the brakes unexpectedly locked up and multiple warning messages appeared at the same time, including “Service ESC.” There were no warning lights, messages, or symptoms before the incident. The problem occurred without warning while the vehicle was being driven normally. The sudden brake application made the vehicle difficult to control and created a significant safety risk because it could have caused a loss of control or a collision with other vehicles. The vehicle is available for inspection. At the time of this report, the exact cause of the failure is unknown.

  13. Other or unspecified, Forward collision avoidance, May 23, 2026

Esc system Poor braking. Engine idling rough. Almost hit another car

  14. Engine, May 22, 2026

was driving along at 65mph when i heard a pop and then truck shut off said loss of oil pressure along with a few other warnings. managed to cost to the side of a hwy that has no shoulder msg came up saying put in neutral to start did so the motor cranked but would not turn over like it had lost all compression. got towed to a local repair shop spun a main bearing which in turn broke the timing chain that then took out the oil pump. had no prior issues have kept up and regular maintenance well before the recommended time intervals. the hwy i was on is very busy two lane road with no shoulders and very limited passing opportunities could have very easily been hit. this has left me with a need for a total engine replacement that are quite expensive on a vehicle that was bought because it was not part of the gm recall as it is outside the listed as effected yrs.

  15. Engine, May 22, 2026

While driving on highway with cruise control set at 65 mph, the engine started misfiring, lost power and multiple warning lights came on. This was the first and only time I had engine problems and I never had any warning lights come on prior to this incident. Dealer confirmed engine experienced complete failure and need to be replaced.

  16. Engine, May 20, 2026

The engine died while in use. We were130 miles from home when the engine started making weird noises and a tapping sound.all the lights on the dash lit up and truck would hardly run.l had a independent car hauler haul the vehicle back home to a local garage. The vehicle has been repaired for $10,919 and paid $800.00 to have it transported.

I had to immediately get the vehicle into slower lane of traffic, before exiting the interstate. : Problem has been confirmed by the dealer : Yes > Warning lights did appear. ( Service Engine ) Also ( Oil pressure warning light )

  18. Power train, Engine, May 15, 2026

Engine oil cooler line leaking from crimp. Same issue CSP N212326940 GM distributed but my truck was not covered for some reason.

  19. Engine, May 15, 2026

While driving home from my way to work, an esc sensor alert went off on the dashboard display. My truck was sent into limp mode, could not accelerate anymore and as soon as I pulled off onto the side of the road the truck died. I was never able to start the truck again. Determined it was an engine lock up when I tried to turn the crankshaft by hand.

  20. Power train, May 15, 2026

I've had a unknown problem with my transmission since I've owned my truck, Took it back to two different GM dealership and one said it was low on transmission fluid after keeping it for about two weeks, So I took it to another dealership out of state and was told there wasn't anything wrong with it. I am absolutely sure that something is wrong with the transmission and they don't want to fix it even though the truck is under warranty. I have seen so many complaints about the transmission and the Chevy Silverado of my year 2019 and above it has to be something going on with the transmission in these trucks that nobody wants to admit.

  21. Vehicle speed control, Engine, May 13, 2026

On Sunday, April 12, 2026, at approximately 5:00 PM, I experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while driving my 2019 Chevy Silverado equipped with the 6.2L V8 engine. Without warning, the vehicle lost all ability to accelerate, creating an immediate and dangerous situation for myself, my family, and surrounding drivers. I was forced to rely on the vehicle’s remaining momentum to maneuver to the side of the road, all while other drivers honked as I attempted to merge with no engine power. This incident caused significant stress and posed a serious safety risk. My vehicle had to be towed home and then to [XXX] Casa Chevrolet at [XXX] . After inspection, the dealership informed me that the engine requires a full rebuild, despite the vehicle having only 115,697 miles. According to the dealership, the engine shows **no compression on all cylinders**, **crankshaft and camshaft compression failure**, **pistons coated in oil and fuel with visible damage**, and a **non‑functioning timing chain likely due to a broken guide**. These findings mirror the exact symptoms currently under investigation in GM’s **EA25007** inquiry involving the 6.2L V8 (L87) engines in 2021–2025 GM trucks and SUVs GM has already issued a major recall affecting nearly **600,000 vehicles** due to defective connecting rods and crankshafts that can cause sudden engine failure, stalling, and potential fire hazards. Although my 2019 Silverado is not included in the recall, it is experiencing the same catastrophic engine failure associated with the defective components identified in the investigation. The dealership has quoted me $10,000 for an engine rebuild and has refused to assist with the cost. I have also filed a complaint directly with GM, as this failure presents the same safety risks and mechanical defects acknowledged in the recalled models. This sudden engine failure placed my family and other motorists in immediate danger, and the lack of w INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while parked and idling in his driveway , he observed a squealing noise emanating from the engine compartment. The contact stated that the vehicle was turned off and when the vehicle was turned on the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was lifer and camshaft failure and the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

  23. Engine, May 13, 2026

own a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 with approximately 76,896 miles. The vehicle experienced sudden coolant loss and overheating while driving and became disabled to the point it would not restart. The vehicle required towing to a repair facility. The symptoms appear substantially similar to known GM cooling system/oil cooler line issues addressed in other Silverado programs and complaints, however my VIN is excluded from coverage. I am requesting review for goodwill assistance and escalation due to the nature of the failure, the maintenance history of the vehicle, and the safety concern created by sudden overheating and loss of power

  24. Engine, May 12, 2026

This truck has a recall on it but by specific VIN numbers mine doesn’t fall into the VIN number but had the same catastrophic oil cooler line failure, which is in the recall which caused the engine tool expire with 40,000 miles on it. Truck is like brand new General Motors will not honor the warranty even though it’s the failure that’s in the warranty makes no sense.

  25. Latches/locks/linkages, May 12, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that with a load in the trunk, the tailgate suddenly opened. The items fell on the roadway. The tailgate was difficult to open. The contact had to secure the tailgate with a strap. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact indicated that the failure was related to Technical Service Bulletin TSB 23-NA-112. The local dealer was called, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, who confirmed there was no recall coverage. The manufacturer referred him to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 30,000.
