  1. Engine, Aug 21, 2026

6.2L engine stopped working on the highway.

  2. Power train, Engine, Aug 19, 2026

Had the Motor replaced under recall / warranty at a certified chevy dealer. ~41k miles. 6.2L L87. GRAFF chevy of Chesterton Indiana. After long lead times and getting the run around, the truck was "done". picked it up and many things were still wrong/incorrect. They were able to take care of it. A day later, the truck died in the road. towed to another GRAFF dealer. 2 days later it was found to be a bad ground. fixed. Fast forward ~3k miles later. the transmission went out and locked up on a main roadway. Towed to another dealer (West Herr chevy Orchard Park NY). They found the root cause was due to transmission cooler lines coming loose from faulty installation during motor swap. There were also many other items found that were broken or loose under the hood of the vehicle from faulty workmanship. I am being told it is not covered under warranty because of the previous dealer's workmanship (GRAFF Indiana) I was able to get the truck put of the roadway and to a safe place, but this very well could've caused an accident, and I would like to document it.

  3. Power train, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Aug 16, 2026

Vehicle suddenly stalls and reduces speed at different times with no warning. At first it would show that message after car washes or rainy days but now randomly it’ll reduce speed in unexpected moments causing safety concerns. It reduces speed, stalls, drives forcefully, and shows a “reduced acceleration drive with care”. Sudden stalls have become a danger to my family and myself as we depend on this car to get to and from on a daily basis. Dealership states it’s the TCM but not covered under warranty. But the vehicle is new how is it that it already has defects

The transmission lost the ability to move the vehicle. The valve body for the transmission became inoperable at 7,600 miles. 12. Power train, Jun 27, 2026

Truck suddenly refused to shift gears/stopped moving forward in HEAVY TRAFFIC, placing me and my family--and others on the roadway--in danger. Dealership inspected the vehicle on three separate occasions for the same (recurring) issue, replacing the control valve body on one visit and the entire transmission on the third. No advance warning that the issue was about to occur on any of the three instances, but check engine light came on afterward along with a message reading "reduced acceleration/drive with care".

  13. Engine, Jun 23, 2026

Engine seized middle of road had to coast off into a safe spot to park

  14. Power train, Engine, Jun 22, 2026

Oil cooler failed and truck was at dealer for a month over winter. Now June 20th transmission failed and there is no timeframe on the valve body. I am still making payments on this truck and no dealers have a timeframe.

  15. Engine, Jun 22, 2026

While I was visiting my mother in Kentucky my 6.2 truck engine failed. It all happened really quick and no warning signs prior. Truck passed recall in April 26. I just left visiting my mother at nursing home. I was on Mountain Parkway when it all of a sudden started making a noise. It sounded like it was coming through firewall. All of sudden check engine light came on and I pulled over right before off ramp. I turned truck off for couple of minutes and started it back up. No light but as soon as I pulled back onto parkway noise started again. I was next to off ramp so I pulled into Marathon gas station and as I was pulling in it died and wouldn’t start back. Truck was taken to dealership on 5/24. They said they can’t give me a courtesy vehicle due to me living out of state and I would have to get a rental on my own but GM would cover up to $44 per day. I contacted GM twice and said I needed to speak to dealer about getting a car. I explained what dealer told me but they said it was out of their control. Still paying for rental out of pocket. Dealer called and verified that engine needs replaced and new engine is back ordered with no ETA. I’m still paying truck payment on a truck I don’t have and no help from GM on giving a car to drive. Need help with escalating new engine replacement and rental that GM is covering.

  16. Service brakes, Forward collision avoidance, Jun 17, 2026, crash

On Febuary 13th 2026 I was involved in a wreck where I re-ended another stopped vehicle. There was no warning light or automated braking executed. I braked hard but not soon enough. There was no malfunction warnings or lights displayed before (or after ) the accident showing it to be inoperative. It has been in to the dealer 3 times since. Yes it is available for inspection. Was told that it will not work if you have your foot on brake or accelerator by one technician. This truck use to brake for no reason even going 70 mph on highway. I am pretty sure GM has reprogramed to fix that issue leaving the sensitivitu so low it now does not work at all.

  17. Engine, Jun 10, 2026

    L87 engine failure

  18. Other or unspecified, Lane departure, Back over prevention, Jun 10, 2026

The all around vehicle camera system fails on average every 6 months. As the dealership is far away in our area, I have to take a 1/2 day to full day off work to take it over. I believe we are now on the third replacement camera module, in need of a fourth that was just replaced less than two months ago. GM makes it unreasonable to deal with. They require you drive over to the dealership just so they can see the same problem is occuring and only then will order parts, requiring a second appointment. The problem is the same and this is just adding more time to the failing safety issue which is of major concern because we can't just drop in easily because we are in a remote area. It sometimes takes over a month for me to be able to schedule a time to go over there --- so I go many weeks with a failing camera system.

  19. Latches/locks/linkages, Jun 10, 2026

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced a tailgate failure listed in NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000(Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The local dealer was contacted and repaired the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 5,000.

  20. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Jun 10, 2026

Complete engine failure on the highway, compete engine and power lockup, towed back to dealership where complete engine lockup was confirmed. No prior issues, no other damage contributing to failure. Claims not to be covered under current recall, advising the recall be extended to all 6.2 19-04 Chevy models as I experienced the same engine failure as recall states.

  21. Power train, Jun 9, 2026

5/4/26 Traveling at highway speed when motor quit, would not restart. Spent additional funds $682 having towed back to Selling dealer in my hometown and a rental car. Dealer reports motor seized and will be replaced. As of 6/9/26 dealer reports no information available for timeline on receipt of new motor to replace

  22. Back over prevention, Jun 8, 2026, crash

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the audible rear park assist system failed to activate while reversing, causing the vehicle to strike a pole. The vehicle was taken to a dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

  23. Engine, Jun 5, 2026

The 6.2 liter engine has been recalled. The problem is if you pass inspection you are now required to use a higher grade of oil. This results in an additional cost of about $50 per change. The reimbursement of the difference should have been covered by the recall as this was not an intended cost when I purchased the truck.

  24. Power train, Vehicle speed control, Engine, May 31, 2026

On [XXX], I was going to Atlanta, the truck started hesitating harshly while I was passing another driver on a two lane road. The truck wouldn’t accelerate and the paddle seemed to be stuck, I had to pull off the road to avoid a head on collision. On the 30th of May, I took the truck to Allen Turner in Pensacola, Florida where I purchased it and reported the issue, the service department was closed and they sent me next door to a Chevrolet Dealership, which was also closed. On today [XXX], I took the truck out for a test drive, and I had the same incident happen, but this time I pulled into a gas station and shutdown the truck. Once I turned the truck back on, the check engine light came on. I didn’t think I would make it back home, because the truck didn’t accelerate correctly, and when I pressed the gas pedal it didn’t accelerate and was making different noises. The pedal seemed to be stuck, with no acceleration. I recorded a little bit with my phone while trying to drive, but it’s not the best. 25. Engine, May 28, 2026

L87 6.2L engine failed. Loud knocking, no oil pressure, engine stalled and would not restart. This happened despite GM's recall where they changed to 0W40 oil.
