Recalls and investigations

  1. Equipment, electrical, engine block heaterJan 15, 2026

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Focus, 2013-2019 Escape, and 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed March 6, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S01. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 16, 2026.

  2. Power train, automatic transmission, gear position indication (prndl)Jun 10, 2022

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 Escape, 2013-2018 C-Max, 2013-2016 Fusion, 2013-2021 Transit Connect, and 2015-2018 Edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.

A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. Additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'Park' position. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.

Dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed July 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th Quarter 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed October 27, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22S43.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

  1. Electrical system, Sep 1, 2018

ON AUGUST 22, 2018, I WAS DRIVING AND THE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT PANEL WENT BLANK. I DROVE TO WORLD FORD IN PENSACOLA, FL AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD NEED TO RETURN THE FOLLOWING DAY BECAUSE THEY WERE TOO BUSY TO CHECK OUT MY PROBLEM. I RETURNED THE FOLLOWING DAY AT MY APPOINTMENT TIME, AND AN HOUR AND A HALF LATER, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $1,600.00. I LEFT THE DEALERSHIP TO DO SOME RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM. I DISCOVERED THAT FORD HAD ISSUED A RECALL #15V406000 ON JUNE 24, 2015 FOR SOME 2014 FORD ESCAPES. WHEN I CALLED ABOUT THIS, I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED. FORD KNEW THAT THERE WAS A SOFTWARE INCOMPATIBILITY ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE A MALFUNCTION. THESE VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD #101, "CONTROL AND DISPLAYS". MY LIFE IS AT RISK BY DRIVING THIS VEHICLE WITH AN INOPERATIVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. WHY IS IT, THAT FORD FIXED THE PROBLEM IN SOME 2014 ESCAPES, BUT NOT ALL. WHY IS IT OKAY THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO PLACE MY LIFE IN DANGER??? I THINK THAT FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE ALL FAULTY INSTRUMENT PANELS, NOT JUST SOME OF THEM. I FAIL TO UNDERSTAND WHY MY LIFE IS LESS IMPORTANT THAN OTHER 2014 ESCAPE OWNERS, AND WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR HELP IN SECURING A REMEDY TO THIS PROBLEM.

  2. Electrical system, Aug 23, 2018

DROVE THE CAR IN THE MORNING OF 8/11 JUST FINE, IN THE AFTERNOON WENT TO START THE CAR AND IT WILL NOT MOVE OUT OF PARK, DASHBOARD STATES THE CAR IS IN NEUTRAL. THE CAR HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE SINCE 8/11 AND PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. RECEIVED A LETTER IN THE MAIL ON 8/13 THAT THIS ISSUE IS AN ACTUAL RECALL AND WHEN WE CALLED LOCAL FORD DEALER, THEY INFORMED US THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL HAVE THE PART TO FIX OUR CAR! WHAT CAN WE DO? WE CAN'T USE THE CAR AND THEY CAN'T FIX IT! CAN WE SIMPLY RETURN THE CAR? WE HAVE AN OUTSTANDING CAR LOAN AND ARE PAYING FOR A CAR THAT'S HAD THREE RECALLS SO FAR SINCE WE'VE HAD IT. WE CAN'T AFFORD TO KEEP PAYING UBER TO GET TO WORK AND A CAR LOAN AND CAR INSURANCE FOR A CAR THAT NO ONE CAN TELL US WHEN IT WILL GET FIXED!

  7. Electrical system, Apr 11, 2018

I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE IN THE LEFT LANE GOING ABOUT 74 MPH WITH MY CRUISE CONTROL ON AND USING MY NAVIGATION WHEN THE SCREEN SUDDENLY WENT BLANK AND THE CAR STARTING SLOWING DOWN AND EVERYTHING SHUT DOWN. THE TRAFFIC WAS VERY HEAVY AND I HAD TO SWERVE OVER 3 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO GET TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. OTHER CARS AND TRUCKS WERE HONKING THEIR HORNS AND SWERVING AROUND ME. I WAS VERY LUCK NOT TO BEEN INVOLVED IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. AFTER I GOT TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO RESTART MY VEHICLE AND WAS UNABLE TO. I WAITED ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TRIED AGAIN TO START IT AND WAS UNABLE TO DO SO. I CALLED AAA AND AND TOW TRUCK CAME ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER AND WHEN HE GOT IT IT STARTED UP AGAIN. THE CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 33,000 MILES AND I BOUGHT IT AS A PRE-OWNED CERTIFIED CAR FROM THE BRANDON FORD DEALERSHIP ABOUT 9 MONTHS AGO.

  8. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Apr 4, 2018

I WAS DRIVING ON A FLAT ROAD, TRAVELING 35 MPH AND MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR DIED. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THE "WIRE REPAIR HARNESS 3526 CPD" HAD CAME LOOSE. I HAD NOT RAN OVER ANYTHING AT ALL AND THE VEHICLE IS IN GREAT SHAPE, ALWAYS MAINTENANCED BY DEALER, 38,569 MILES. I WAS TOLD MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED BY RECALL BUT ONLINE I FOUND RECALLS FOR 2014 FOR ESCAPE FOR THE WIRING HARNESS. I PAID FOR THE REPAIR BUT I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD NOT OCCUR ON A 2014 VEHICLE AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY A RECALL.

  9. Electrical system, Structure, Engine, Mar 28, 2018, fire

I WAS DRIVING UP THE INTERSTATE AFTER WORK AND WHILE I WAS DRIVING I BEGAN TO NOTICE SMOKE. I LOOKED AROUND AND REALIZED IT WAS MY CAR. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE AND MY CAR STARTED FLASHING EVERYTHING ON THE DASH PANEL WAS RED AND FLASHING ENGINE FAILURE. I CUT THE CAR OFF AND THEN WENT TO TRY AND POP THE HOOD, I COULDN'T GET IT OPENED AND I LOOKED DOWN AND BEGAN TO SEE FLAMES. I CALLED 911 AND MY CAR ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I HAD A RECALL ON MY CAR FOR A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE CYLINDER HEAD SAYING THAT IT COULD CAUSE AN ENGINE FIRE IF OILS WERE TO GET OUT AND HIT A HOT SURFACE. I GOT MY RECALL FIXED AND THEN MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE A FEW WEEKS LATER.

  10. Electrical system, Engine, Mar 9, 2018

IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN YOU DRIVE THE CAR FOR A WHILE (45+ MINUTES), TURN IT OFF, AND THEN START IT UP 15-45 MINUTES LATER. IT WILL START BUT THEN WITHIN THE FIRST 100 YARDS IT WILL GO SLUGGISH AND STALL. WHEN I TRY TO GIVE IT GAS THAT DOESN'T HELP. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF, PUT IT IN PARK AND START IT BACK UP. A FEW TIMES IT'S STALLED 3 TIMES IN A ROW. ONCE IT GETS GOING GOOD IT'S FINE. IT'S ALWAYS FINE IF IT'S BEEN OFF FOR A WHILE (FIRST THING IN THE MORNING OR STARTING AFTER WORK). EVENTUALLY THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, I TOOK IT TO A SHOP, A GUY DIAGNOSED IT, CHANGED OUT A SENSOR AND THE FUEL PUMP. IT DIDN'T HELP.

  11. Electrical system, Structure, Engine, Feb 10, 2018, fire

I STARTED MY VEHICLE YESTERDAY TO WARM UP AND ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES LATER HEARD A BIG BOOM, LOOKED OUT THE DOOR AND THE FRONT END OF MY ESCAPE WAS COMPLETELY ENGULFED IN FLAMES. I HAD SCHEDULED IT TO GET REPAIRED YESTERDAY MORNING, BUT WAS UNABLE TO MAKE IT AS WE RECEIVED A LOT OF SNOW AND SCHOOLS WERE CANCELLED AND SUCH. I HAD KNOWN OF THE RECALL SINCE LAST YEAR SINCE I ALREADY WAS INVOLVED IN ANOTHER RECALL WITH THE LATCH. I TRIED TO GET THEM TAKEN CARE OF AT THE SAME TIME, BUT THE REMEDY WAS NOT AVAILABLE AND WOULDN'T BE FOR SOME TIME. I RECEIVED A NOTICE DIRECTLY FROM FORD BETWEEN ONE AND TWO WEEKS AGO AND CALLED ZIEGLER IN ELKHART TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT, BUT THEY WEREN'T AVAILABLE FOR ALMOST A WEEK. IT IS OBVIOUS THE DAMAGE WAS ALREADY DONE WITH MY CAR ANYWAY, CONSIDERING THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL, WHICH A WHOLE PROCESS OF THE CYLINDER HEAD CRACKING, COOLANT LEAKING OUT AND THAT POTENTIALLY CAUSING A FIRE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. I AM THANKFUL THAT THE CAR WAS JUST WARMING UP IN OUR DRIVEWAY AND NEITHER MY KIDS NOR MYSELF WERE INSIDE. I AM ALSO GRATEFUL THAT OUR HOUSE DIDN'T CATCH FIRE AND JUST SUSTAINED SOME COSMETIC DAMAGE DUE TO THE HEAT. I DO NOT HAVE THE REPORT FROM THE FIRE DEPARTMENT YET, BUT THEY SAID IT WOULD BE AVAILABLE SOON. IT WAS THE PENN TOWNSHIP FIRE DEPT THAT RESPONDED AND I TALKED TO DURGAN SPINSKY WHOSE WORK NUMBER IS 5742555075 * (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS

  12. Electrical system, Jan 28, 2018

AFTER ABOUT (3) MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR, THE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER STARTED FLICKERING. I DIDN'T PAY TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO IT. AFTER A WHILE, THE SCREEN COMPLETELY WENT OUT. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE & THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTEE & IT WOULD COST ME AT LEAST 750.00 TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ELECTRONIC INSTRUMENT CLUSTER & THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO KEEP THE CAR FOR AT LEAST 3 DAYS BECAUSE THEY HAD TO KEEP THE CAR UNTIL THEY RECEIVE THE NEW CLUSTER & INSTALL IT. IF THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, I WOULD LIKE SOME ADVICE.

  13. Electrical system, Engine, Dec 12, 2017

THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLS OUT. HAS BEEN FIXED ONCE ALREADY BUT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES SINE THE REPAIR. WOULD HAPPEN PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY OR THROUGH PARKING LOT UNTIL THIS LAST TIME. I MERGED ONTO A MAJOR FREEWAY AND WAS UP TO 75-80MPH AND THE CAR STALLED OUT, ALMOST HIT BY 2 SEMIS TRYING TO AVOID RE ENDING ME ON THE FREEEWAY. *TT CONSUMER STATED NEVER HAD A BRAKE FAILURE. 14. Electrical system, Dec 8, 2017

MY VEHICLE KEEPS STALLING AND DYING WHEN I AM DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED (ROADWAY OR PARKING LOT ALIKE) , I REPLACED THE BATTERY TO MAKE SURE THAT WASN'T CAUSING IT AND IT STILL DOES IT. I STARTED TO RESEARCH THE ISSUE AND APPARENTLY THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THAT MODEL FOR THE WIRING HARNESS AND THE DESCRIPTION MATCHES MY ISSUE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT MY VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE THE RECALL. I DID MORE RESEARCH AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS ACCOUNTS OF DEALERSHIPS STATING THIS IS NOT A RECALL AND SOME PEOPLE WERE ALMOST INJURED BECAUSE OF THIS. VEHICLES STOPPING WHILE DRIVING IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS RECALL DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. THE CODE REPORTED FOR THIS IS TSP 13-12-12. THE ELECTRONIC SCREEN IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS FAILED. FORD RECALLED THIS MODEL UNDER SAFETY RECALL NUMBER "15V406000". HOWEVER, THE RECALL MAKE DATE STOPPED ONE MONTH BEFORE MY CAR MAKE DATE. MY VEHICLE HAS A BLANK SCREEN BUT IS CURRENTLY NOT COVERED. THE SCREEN STOPPED WORKING IN JULY, 2017 WITH 53000 MILES ON THE CAR. I WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE OF $750.00 TO REPAIR.

FIRST THE WIRING HAD TO BE REPLACE, WEEK LATER CATALYIC CONVERTOR, WEEK LATER TRANSMISSION, CAR IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD

  17. Electrical system, Seat belts, Structure, Nov 22, 2017

    1. SEAT BELT: DRIVER'S SEAT BELT UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED WORKING AND WILL NOT CLICK OR LOCK INTO PLACE. THE SEAT BELT PRETENSIONERS TO NOT FUNCTION AS INTENDED WHEN NEEDED, INCREASE THE RISK OF OCCUPANT INJURY IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. 2: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: INSTRUMENT PANEL: BLANK DISPLAY, OR OFTEN TIMES INRESPONSIVE. IF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS INOPERATIVE, THE DRIVER OF MAY NOT BE WARNED OF SAFETY RELATED ISSUES SUCH AS LOW TIRE PRESSURES OR DISABLED AIR BAGS, INCREASING THE RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY OR A CRASH. 3.BODY: DOOR: THE BODY OF THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR IS OFTEN HARD TO CLOSE AND THE BODY OF THE DOOR OFTEN COMES OFF. A DOOR THAT OPENS UNEXPECTEDLY IN THE RESULT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO CLOSE, MAY RESULT IN AN UNRESTRAINED OCCUPANT FALLING FROM THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.

THE DISPLAY SCREEN WHICH SHOWS MILEAGE AND TIRE PRESSURE JUST RANDOMLY WENT OUT. IT WAS AS IF THERE WAS SOME SORT OF SHORT. THE SCREEN WOULD COME ON WITH LINES THROUGH IT AND TRY TO SHOW THE DISPLAY AND THEN COMPLETELY WHITED OUT. THIS WAS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. I WENT OUT TO START IT ONE DAY ON MY WAY TO WORK AND THERE WAS NOTHING VISIBLE.

IN 3 DAYS MY CAR HAD DIED 6 TIMES. FIRST TIME I THOUGHT MAYBE I HAD LEFT SOMETHING ON AND DRAINED THE BATTERY. I HAD SOMEONE AT WORK JUMP ME, AND I WENT ON MY WAY. THE FOLLOWING 5 TIMES, I HAD TO REPEATEDLY PUSH THE START BUTTON WHILE TRYING TO PUSH DOWN ON THE BREAK. EVENTUALLY THE CAR STARTS BUT ALL OF MY ELECTRONICS GO CRAZY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, DROVE 20 MILES TO GET THERE, TURNED THE CAR OFF, WHEN THEY TRIED TO MOVE IT, IT WOULDN'T START. I SHOWED THEM HOW YOU HAVE TO KEEP PUSHING THE BUTTON WHILE EVERYTHING ELECTRICAL GOES CRAZY. DEALERSHIP BLAMING THE BATTERY, BUT WHAT IS CAUSING THE BATTERY TO DRAIN SO FAST? MY CONCERN IS THAT ALL THE ELECTRONICS GO CRAZY AND IT DECIDES TO DIE WHENEVER IT WANTS. HOPE I AM NOT DRIVING WITH MY TWO SMALL CHILDREN!!!! BASED ON WHAT I AM READING ONLINE, I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THIS ISSUE!

INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER IS INOPERATIVE. BLANK MULTIFUNCTIONAL DISPLAY. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL PLACED FOR THIS ISSUE FOR SAFETY CONCERNS ON VEHICLES MANUFACTURED AT THE SAME PLANT BETWEEN MAY 19, 2014 TO FEBRUARY 6, 2015. THE NUMBER FOR THE RECALL IS 15C03. MY VEHICLE ISN'T INCLUDED. MY VEHICLE IS FROM THE SAME MANUFACTURING PLANT, BUT WITH THE DATE OF MARCH 2014. MY CAR HOWEVER DOES HAVE A RECALL OF THE COOLANT SYSTEM, POSSIBLE OVERHEATED WITH FIRE HAS BEEN REPORTED. I AM WAITING FOR PARTS. IF IT WERE TO OVERHEAT I WOULD HAVE NO WARNING WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INOPERATIVE. ALSO WITH WEATHER CHANGING, I HAVE NO WARNING FOR PROPER TIRE INFLATION AND SEVERAL OTHER SAFETY CONCERNS. IF THE RECALL WAS PLACED BECAUSE A "SAFETY CONCERN" WAS RECOGNIZED, HOW CAN MY VEHICLE BE ELIMINATED IN THE RECALL. IT'S THE SAME SAFETY CONCERN.

ON FEBRUARY 2017 I BROUGHT A 2014 FORD ESCAPE AT ABOUT 59 K MILES AND NOW IT HAS ABOUT 70K MILES ON IT. I WAS TOTALLY CLUELESS AS TO HOW UNSAFE THIS CAR WAS AND ALL OF THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS/ISSUES THAT CONSUMERS ARE HAVING WITH THIS CAR. ON 09/22/2017, THIS CAR TOTALLY BROKE DOWN. THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS I ALMOST GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT AS THE CAR WITHOUT MADE A LOUD NOISE, AND WITHOUT ANY WARNING JUST STOPPED/SHUT DOWN IN TRAFFIC. NONE OF THE SAFETY INDICATOR ALERTS WORKED IN THIS CAR SO I WAS CLUELESS THAT THE CARD HAD ANY ISSUES. I ONLY OWNED THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS AT THE TIME AND IT WAS CLEARLY OUT OF WARRANTY. I HAD THE CAR TOWED ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT IT IS THE TRANSMISSION, BAD BATTERY, ABS ISSUES AND POSSIBLY AN ALTERNATOR. I WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL ISSUES AND POSSIBLE A RECALL THAT IS WHY NO WARNINGS LIGHTS CAME ON TO LET ME KNOW IT WAS A PROBLEM. I REACHED OUT TO FORD WHO BASICALLY SAID SORRY WE DON'T CARE HAVE A NICE DAY. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE AND SHOULD BE TAKEN OFF OF THE MARKET UNTIL FORD CAN GET THIS IN ORDER. I REALLY HOPE SOMEONE LOOK INTO THIS MATTER BEFORE SOMEONE LOSE THEIR LIFE.

RECALL 14S17 VEHICLE HAS HESITATED AND STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. IT HAS STALLED TWICE AFTER BEING PUT IN REVERSE. EVENTUALLY CAR STARTED. THERE HAVE ALSO BEEN SEVERAL INSTANCES WHILE DRIVING WHERE THE VEHICLE SEEMS TO SPUTTER AND HESITATE BUT WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE. YESTERDAY IT STALLED AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER AFTER ACCELERATION AND WOULD NOT RESTART. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT MECHANIC'S SHOP AND MECHANIC IS REPORTING AN ERROR CODE OF "POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE FAIL". THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE! THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE REPAIRED UNDER RECALL 14S17 AS IT IS A DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH 2014 FORD ESCAPE VEHICLES.

THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION BEING DRIVEN WHEN HEAVY RAIN BEGAN. THE WIPERS WOULD NOT TURN ON IN ANY LEVEL, MANUAL OR OTHERWISE. THIS CREATED AN EXTREAMLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WITH LITTLE TO NO VISIBILITY. THE DEALER DID NOT DISCLOSE THE PROBLEMS WITH THE 2014 FORD ESCAPE BCM BUT INDICATED WAS THE CAUSE. THEY HOWEVER DID NOT REPLACE IT, BUT DID CHARGE $450 FOR DIAGNOSIS ONLY. NO ACTUAL REPAIR WAS MADE. THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL. IT IS AGAIN AFFECTING THE WIPER CONTROL INTERMITTENTLY.
