    Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Escape, Lincoln Corsair, 2020-2024 Lincoln Aviator, and Explorer vehicles. The image on the center display may flip or invert, resulting in an incorrectly displayed rearview image when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

    An incorrectly displayed rearview image can reduce the driver’s view behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

    Dealers will update the accessory protocol interface module (APIM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 23, 2026.     Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Lincoln MKC, 2016-2023 Explorer, 2019-2020 Fusion, 2019-2024 Ranger, 2020-2022 Lincoln Corsair, Escape, 2021-2024 Bronco, Bronco Sport, and 2022-2024 Maverick vehicles. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

    An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

    Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded blanking plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed December 3, 2025. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated September 2026.     Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2021-2024 Bronco Sport and 2020-2022 Escape vehicles equipped with 1.5L engines. A fuel injector may crack and leak fuel inside the engine compartment.

    A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source, such as hot engine or exhaust components, can increase the risk of a fire.

    Dealers will update the engine control software. In addition, dealers will replace the high-pressure fuel rail assembly and fuel injectors, free of charge. As an interim repair, dealers will update the engine control software, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed August 29, 2025. Second letters will be sent once the final remedy is available, anticipated in July 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S76. A software error may cause the rearview camera to display a blank image, or the image may remain on the display after the backing event has ended.

    A rearview camera that displays a blank image can reduce the driver's view behind the vehicle. A rearview image that continues to be displayed after the vehicle is shifted out of reverse may distract the driver. Both of these situations can increase the risk of a crash.

    Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Battery failure can also increase the risk of a fire.

If a connecting rod bearing failure is detected, dealers will replace the engine long-block. All inspections and repairs will be performed free of charge. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at Meineke Auto for an oil change, the contact was informed that there was a significant amount of oil in the engine bay and the engine was smoking. Additionally, the contact was informed that there was no coolant in the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V484000(Engine and Engine Cooling, Structure). The failure mileage was approximately 49,025.

    The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed, however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. In addition, the contact noticed a burning odor in the interior of the vehicle. The diagnostic scanner was attached and the received code was P0299. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was scheduled to be taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing within the next several days. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance.     Since purchase airbags light stays on reported this several times! Next engine oil has been leaking on hot parts of engine report to manufacturer and they are doing nothing this is my only vehicle! This could cause a fire! Several vehicles same year and model same problem!

    I had recalls and problems since I first got the Car SUV Ford escape 2022 I never had so many issues Within 1 month I had to go back from some issues they had to fix see attached documents I SUV stalled on Virginia route 28 Luckly it was on the exit lane that I was able to stop and restart my engine I reported this to Ford dealership they supposedly fixed it but I am scared since I feel the problems are going to cost me in the long run I asked the dealership for an exchange they denied me I feel this is not fair I don't need a barely 1 year old SUV ford to have more problems on year 2 and 3 please help

The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the contact heard two loud explosions, when the contact looked outside the vehicle was in flames, causing the siding of the contact's home siding to melt. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated, but the contact smelled an odor of fuel coming from the vehicle before the explosion. No one was injured and a police report was filed. The fire department was able to extinguish the flames. The vehicle was not towed. The vehicle was not diagnosed. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,500.

The contact also stated that while in reverse(R), a loud humming sound was coming from the vehicle while stopped or while in motion. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was then notified of the failure and referred her to the NHTSA Hotline.     Service engine soon light came on, and the car was very slow to get up to speed and it would no exceed 15MPH. Took it to the dealership and it was initially discussed as a crankshaft sensors that needed cleaning but while cleaning it they notices metal pieces in the oil. I was "recommended" an oil change that I had to pay out of pocket. and that did not solve the issue. Took the car back to the dealer and as of right now they are looking into replacing the engine entirely. Sill no ETA

    The contact owns a 2022 Ford Escape. The contact stated that after having an oil change performed by his local dealer, an abnormal oil odor would emit from the vehicle without warning. The contact inspected the engine and discovered that oil had leaked around the oil reservoir cap. Upon further inspection, the dipstick showed that the oil level was 3/8 of an inch over the oil limit. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the dealer where he explained to the service manager what he had discovered. Another oil change was performed and once the vehicle was returned, the same failure persisted upon inspection. The contact then performed his own oil change and the defect remained. The manufacturer had been notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 3,600.
