Recalls and investigations

  1. Fuel system, gasoline, storage, evaporative emissions, canisterJun 9, 2026

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Focus vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 18V735. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, causing the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving.

An engine that stalls while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 29, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S40. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 6,2026.

  2. Equipment, electrical, engine block heaterJan 15, 2026

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Focus, 2013-2019 Escape, and 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed March 6, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S01. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 16, 2026.

  3. Latches/locks/linkages, doors, latchJun 8, 2020

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

  4. Fuel system, gasoline, storageJul 5, 2019

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012 and 2017 Focus vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI gasoline engines and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles equipped with 2.0L GTDI engines, previously recalled under 18V-735. The affected vehicles did not have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated as intended. Therefore, the Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor management system.

The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. Dealers will also check for fault codes and replace the CPV as needed. If the CPV is replaced, dealers will inspect and replace the carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module as necessary. The recall began July 29, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S22.

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Ford Focus vehicles with a 2.0L GDI or 2.0L GTDI engine. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system.

The excessive vaccuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. Dealers will also check for fault codes and replace the CPV as needed. If the CPV is replaced, dealers will inspect and replace the carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module as necessary. The recall began August 19, 2019. Owners may contact Ford Customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S32. 6. Latches/locks/linkages, hatchback/liftgate, lockSep 28, 2016

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2017 Ford Focus hatchback vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, to August 26, 2016 and equipped with a manual transmission. The hatchback of the affected vehicles may be unlatched with a single press of the interior latch release button. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

With only a single press needed, the driver may accidently unlatch the hatchback, increasing the risk of injury to any unsecured passengers in the back.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Body Control Module with updated software, free of charge. The recall began February 10, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16C13.

A component within the door latches may break, preventing the doors from latching and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the door latches with an improved part, free of charge. The recall began on January 27, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S30.

  8. Electrical system, wiringDec 2, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured January 11, 2012, to April 1, 2013, and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles manufactured May 03, 2012, to October 14, 2013. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module (PCM).

The incorrect signals could cause the vehicle to hesitate or the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices, free of charge. The recall began on January 7, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S17-S1.

  10. Exterior lightingAug 1, 2013

Ford is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Focus BEV vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured September 15, 2011, through May 6, 2013; and model year 2013 Focus ST vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured February 16, 2012, through May 7, 2013. Due to a wiring incompatability, the front side marker lamps may not function. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Without the proper illumination of the side maker lamps, the vehicle may be less visible in night time conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will modify the headlamp assembly wiring, free of charge. The recall began on August 16, 2013. Owners may contact the Ford customer relationship center at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall number is 13C04.

  11. Latches/locks/linkagesMar 7, 2013

Ford is recalling certain model year 2013 Focus and C-Max vehicles built from November 16, 2012, through November 21, 2012; and model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured from November 14, 2012, through November 21, 2012. The left rear door child lock was built incorrectly. As a result, the child lock may not engage when the operator uses normal force to activate the child lock.

The operator may incorrectly believe the child lock is engaged. However, the door may be opened from the inside, increasing the risk of injury to an unrestrained child.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the affected rear door latches, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2013. Owners may contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

  12. EquipmentOct 2, 2012

This recall involves aftermarket parts sold by Yakima Products, Inc. for use on model year 2012 and 2013 Ford Focus vehicles. This recall is being conducted by Yakima, not by Ford. Certain combined Q-Tower and Q128 Clip rooftop rack systems, part numbers 8000124 and 8000728, do not fully contact the door frame.

Without proper contact of the rooftop rack clip to the door frame, there is insufficient clamping pressure and friction. The system may slide off the vehicle when loaded with accessories, possibly becoming a road hazard to other vehicles or causing injury to pedestrians.

Yakima will notify owners, and Yakima or a Yakima dealer will refund the purchase of the Q-Tower and Q-128 Clip system. There is no replacement system available for the 2012-2013 model year Ford Focus. The safety recall began on October 15, 2012. Only vehicles equipped with the vehicle rack system are affected. This recall is being conducted by Yakima, not Ford. Owners may contact Yakima at 1-888-925-4621.

MY VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED FROM APPROX 60 MPH- 20MPH IMMEDIATELY AND UNEXPECTEDLY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFICS. I TEMPORARILY LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET IT BACK UNDER CONTROL AND ALMOST RAN OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD RT. 7 TRAVELING NORTH TOWARDS WINCHESTER AND ALMOST WAS HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER IN THE RIGHT LANE IT LURCHED. I DECIDED TO TURN OFF N ABACK ROAD TO SEE IF THIS WAS JUST A,FLUKE AND IT SEEMED TO DO ITS AND OFF, BUT NOT AS ROUGHLY, REVVING UP AND DOWN AND SHIFTING UP AND DOWN, THEN WA FINE UNTIL I TURNED ONTO RT.81 NORTH TOWARDS INWOOD, WV. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO HAVE WAS SEEMS TO BE CONTINUOUS REVVING AND SHIFTING PROBLEMS, I DRIVE IT HOME AND HAD MY BEST FRIEND FOLLOW ME SLOWLY TO THE PARSONS FORD DEALERSHIP TO BE LOOKED AT. THERE IS A TRANSMISSION/COMPUTER PROGRAMMING ISSUE THAT FORD IS AWARE OF. I HAD THIS ISSUE IN THE FIRST 1000 MILES THAT OCCURRED ONCE IN FRONT OF MY HOUSE ON BAC CREEK VALLEY DRIVE, UPON PARKING THE VEHICLE, TURNING IT OFF AND RESTARTING THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARED. I COMMENTED ON IT DURING THE 30,000 MILE MAINTENANCE AND CHALKS IT UP TO A GLITCH DURING THE NORMAL BREAK-IN PERIOD OF THE VEHICLE. THE LAST INCIDENT ALMOST RESULTED IN A POTENTIALLY FATAL CONDITION, HERE I ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT WITH AN 18-WHEELER AND OTHER VEHICLES. I DO NOT WANT MY WIFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AND FEEL IT IS UNSAFE AND SHOULD BE IMMEDIATELY RECALLED BEFORE ANYONE GETS KILLED AS A RESULT. BASED ON A RESEARCH FORD HAS UPGRADED THE TRANSMISSIONS IN THE 2015 LINE OF THE FORD FOCUS LINE, AND SHOULD REPLACE THE VEHICLES. *TR

FOR A NUMBER OF MONTHS THE VEHICLE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, LAGS, AND ACTS INTERMITTENTLY LURCHING. VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN APPLYING GAS, ONE NEVER KNOWS IF THE VEHICLE WILL GO FORWARD SMOOTHLY, OR INSTEAD LURCH OR SHUDDER POTENTIALLY CAUSING TO BE REAR-ENDED BY SOMEONE OR HIT BECAUSE THE VEHICLE DOESN'T ACCELERATE TO QUEUE. ALL ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD GRINDING SOUND. A PIECE OF JUNK! *TR

  9. Engine, Feb 16, 2015, crash, fire

2013 FORD FOCUS WAS GOING 35 MPH, SAW A LATE 1990'S FORD RANGER STOP SHORT IN FRONT OF A FIRE STATION AND TRIED TO BRAKE. COULDN'T STOP IN TIME AND REAR ENDED THE FORD RANGER. THE DRIVER OF THE FOCUS GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND TO SPEAK TO THE OTHER DRIVER AND THE ENGINE OF THE FOCUS CAUGHT FIRE ABOUT 30 SECONDS LATER. FIREMEN WERE ACROSS THE STREET AND CAME OVER TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. WITH ALL OF THIS, THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. I CALLED FORD TO ALERT THEM OF THIS ISSUE. THEY GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER AND WITHIN 1 BUSINESS DAY I WAS CONTACTED BY CUSTOMER CARE. THEY SAID THEY WOULD INSPECT THE VEHICLE TO AT A LOCAL DEALERSHIP TO FIND OUT WHY THE AIRBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. THEY SAID THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE COST AND WERE VAGUE ABOUT WHAT THE NEXT STEPS WERE AND HOW LONG THE PROCESS WOULD TAKE. WHEN I TRIED TO INQUIRE FURTHER, THEY SAID THEY WANTED TO KNOW WHAT MY INTENTIONS WERE. I MENTIONED WERE ARE NOT TRYING TO SHAKEDOWN AND SUE FORD, WE SIMPLY WANT ANSWERS.THE INSURANCE COMPANY, STATE FARM, TOTALED THE FOCUS AND THEY ARE WORKING WITH ME TO GIVE FORD THE VEHICLE, BUT FORD IS NOT COOPERATING. I HAVEN'T BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE SINCE THE ORIGINAL FOLLOW-UP AND WE HAVE QUESTIONS THAT NEED TO BE ANSWERED IN ORDER FOR STATE FARM TO GIVE FORD POSSESSION OF THE VEHICLE. FORD HAS STOPPED COOPERATED AND THEY HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT WE ARE TRYING TO ADDRESS AND FORD IS DRAGGING THIS PROCESS OUT AS LONG AS THEY CAN. *TR

MY FORD FOCUS SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING AND LURCH FORWARD WITHOUT WARNING WHEN I'M SLOWING DOWN OR ACCELERATING. I HAVE HAD IT REPAIRED ONCE AND NEED TO GO BACK AGAIN. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO GO WITHOUT A CAR BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP ONCE AGAIN HAS MY CAR IN FOR REPAIRS DUE TO A MANUFACTURER TRANSMISSION DEFECT. ALSO, WHAT PREMATURE INTERNAL WEAR IS THIS ALL CAUSING? WILL I NEED TO REPLACE PARTS BEFORE THEY WOULD NORMALLY NEED REPLACING OR FIXING?! I'M WORRIED THE CAR WILL BREAKDOWN OR THERE WILL BE A CRASH WHERE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT. IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION THAT FORD KNEW ABOUT THE DEFECT AND CONCEALED THE INFORMATION AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS LAW SUITS OUT THERE FOR THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE. I REALLY DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR ANYMORE. I CAN'T REMEMBER THE SPECIFIC DATE OF THE FIRST INCIDENT BUT I CAN FIND OUT FROM THE DEALERSHIP IF NECESSARY. *TR

  13. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jan 5, 2015

MY VEHICLE SHUDDERS BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEARS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM STOPPED OR LOW SPEEDS. IT JOLTS RANDOMLY WHEN DRIVING IN LOWER SPEEDS. THERE ARE SOUNDS OF GRINDING AND RATTLING WHEN COMING OUT OF TURNS/ACCELERATING OUT OF A TURN. *TR

  14. Power train, Engine, Jan 5, 2015

I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY CAR SHIFTS AWKWARDLY AND MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHEN SHIFTING INTO SECOND AND SOMETIMES THIRD GEAR. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL BOG DOWN AND THEN GET A SURGE OF POWER AND LEVEL OFF. SOMETIMES I WILL START GOING AND BETWEEN FIRST AND SECOND GEAR IT WILL BOG AND CAUSE ME TO JERK FORWARD. SOME DAYS IT WON'T DO IT BUT MOST OF THE TIME IT DOES. *TR

WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND AT IDLE SUCH AS AT A RED LIGHT, THE ENGINE SHAKES AND WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED THE CAR HESITATES AND DOES NOT WANT TO MOVE AND FEELS LIKE THE VEHICLE WILL STALL. ONCE SPEED IS UP TO ABOUT 10-15MPH ACCELERATION IS FINE WITH NO VIBRATION OR SHAKES. THIS ISSUE CAN BE VERY SERIOUS WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. TOOK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. SOMETHING IS WRONG AND IS UNSAFE. *TR

I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, IT WAS RAINING, AS I PULLED OFF THE LIGHT, THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. I MERGED TO THE SHOULDER AND THE DASHBOARD LIT UP WITH CRITICAL ENGINE FAULT, AND A FEW OTHERS, THE CAR STALLED AND I SAT THERE FOR ABOUT 30 MINS. I MANAGED TO GET HOME THAT DAY AND AFTER SITTING FOR 24 HOURS, IT RAN FINE AGAIN.THIS MORNING (DEC.9TH2014) RAINING AGAIN, I PULLED INTO MY PARKING LOT AND THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND WHEN I PLACED IT IN PARK, ANOTHER CRITICAL ENGINE FAULT APPEARED, I HAVE READ ABOUT 100 OTHER CASES DESCRIBING THE SAME SITUATION. *TR

  19. Engine, Nov 17, 2014

A FEW DAYS AFTER I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, I WENT BACK TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM IT WAS STUTTERING ON TAKE OFF. I WAS TOLD "THIS IS NORMAL, THE CAR WAS GETTING USE TO A DIFFERENT DRIVER, TO SAVE ON GAS, AND THAT IT SHOULD GET BETTER THE LONGER I DROVE IT". IT DID NOT GOT BETTER, BUT WORSE. BROUGHT IT IN AND THEY SAID THAT IT NEEDED AN UPDATE, SO THEY HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER AND UPDATED IT. STILL DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. NEXT TIME I TOOK IT IN THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE DUEL TRANSMISSION, AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR IT TO SHUTTER. IT IS NOW IN THE SHOP HAVING CLUTCHES REPLACED AND SEALS REPLACED. THE SERVICE MANAGER TOLD ME THAT EVEN AFTER THIS WAS DONE IT WOULD STILL HAVE A SHUTTER, JUST NOT SO BAD. I TRIED TO TRADE THE VEHICLE IN, BUT I'M GOING TO LOSE AROUND $5000, IN ONE MONTHS TIME. THUS VEHICLE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN SOLD TO ME, I FEEL THAT I WAS LIED TO AND DECEIVED. THE SERVICE MANGER AT FORD TOLD ME THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM THIS CAR, BUT THE ASSISTANT SALES MANAGER IS TELLING ME THAT IT IS NOT A "QUALITY" ISSUE. WHO WOULD BUY A PRACTICALLY NEW CAR TO ONLY BE IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES IN 2 MONTHS AND STILL NOT HAVE A SAVE OR SMOOTH RIDE? NO ONE WOULD!!!! *TR

  20. Power train, Engine, Nov 17, 2014

GRINDING/RATTLING NOISE AND HEAVY SHUDDERING/SHAKING/LURCHING OCCURS AT LOW SPEEDS. NOT NORMAL SOUNDS. I DROVE MANUAL VEHICLES FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS OCCURRENCE, WITH THE EXCEPTION OF FIRST LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE A MANUAL. IT IS CURRENTLY IN THE SHOP FOR A RECALL (THAT THIS SITE DOESN'T NOTE, FOR SOME REASON, BUT FORD DOES FIND). I HAVE NEVER ONCE (2 MONTHS TIME) GOTTEN OVER 31 MPG EITHER. THIS WAS PURCHASED AS A COMMUTER VEHICLE, AND FOR IT TO RARELY GET 30 MPG IS SAD, CONSIDERING MY DRIVING AN 8 YEAR OLD, 175K MILE COROLLA MEANT GETTING UPWARDS OF 34 MPG CONSISTENTLY. HAVE MADE 2 PAYMENTS ON THE CAR AND WISHING I HAD NEVER BOUGHT IT. *TR

  21. Engine, Nov 11, 2014

VEHICLE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN MAKING A GRINDING NOISE EVER SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. THE GRINDING NOISE OCCURS AT LOW SPEEDS AS ONE ACCELERATES FROM ZERO MPH. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO THE DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD IT IS NORMAL. THE NOISE DOESN'T SOUND NORMAL AND THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN DOCUMENTED BY MANY OTHER FORD FOCUS OWNERS. THE NOISE APPEARS TO ONLY GET WORSE WITH TIME. THIS NOISE CANT BE "NORMAL." PLEASE ADVISE WHAT IS BEING DONE ABOUT THIS ANOMALY. *TR

  22. Engine, Nov 10, 2014

SIMILAR TO MANY POSTS: CONSISTENT SHUDDERING WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP; ESPECIALLY IF THERE IS ANY KIND OF INCLINE. THIS IS A DAILY OCCURRENCE. *TR

  23. Engine, Nov 6, 2014

I HAVE RECEIVED A RECALL (CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 14M01), YET WHEN I CALL MY DEALERSHIP'S (BLUE BONNET FORD IN NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS) SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THEY SAY, OH A CUSTOMER SAT--WELL, YOU HAVE TO TALK TO THIS LINE AND THEY TRANSFER ME TO AN UNATTENDED NUMBER WHERE I LEAVE A MESSAGE AND NEVER RECEIVE A CALLBACK. IF THIS COMPANY DOESN'T HONOR THEIR RECALLS, THEY SHOULD BE FINED BIG TIME! MEANWHILE I AM STUCK WITH A DEFECTIVE CAR THAT NO ONE WILL FIX. *TR

  24. Power train, Engine, Nov 4, 2014

THERE IS AN OBVIOUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. WHEN GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR FROM A STOP IT SHUDDERS AND NEARLY STALLS. THIS IS A CONSTANT EVERY DAY ISSUE. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THERE IS NO OFFICIAL RECALL FORD IS NOT ALLOWING THE DEALERSHIPS TO FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGHT THERE ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM ACROSS THE BOARD WITH THE 2013 MODEL OF THE FOCUS AND THE FIESTA. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD THAT WITH AN OFFICIAL RECALL THE CAR WOULD HAVE TO STALL OUT ON THE ROAD OR BE THE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT IN ORDER FOR THE ISSUE TO BE FIXED. *TR

WHEN I FIRST GOT THE CAR IN SEPTEMBER 2013, THE CAR WOULD JERK AND SHAKE WHEN PULLING OFF FROM A STOP AND WAS ALSO VERY LOUD. I TOOK IT TO BE SERVICED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT WAS NORMAL. I TOOK IT BACK A FEW MONTHS LATER BECAUSE I DIDN'T BELIEVE THAT WAS NORMAL. THEY FIXED IT. BUT NOW IT'S STARTING TO SHAKE AGAIN. IN JUNE 2014 THE ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING O FOR A FEW DAYS. I TOOK IT TO FORD AND THEY CLAIM THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM. THE LIGHT CAME BACK ON IN JULY, THEY CLAIMED THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON IN SEPTEMBER, THEY CLAIMED YET AGAIN, NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. I TOOK IT TOOK A SMALL TRANSMISSION SHOP, THEY READ MY CODES AND IMMEDIATELY FOUND A PROBLEM, CLAIMING IT WAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE LIGHT WAS BACK ON. EACH TIME THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON, IT WOULD STALL AND IMMEDIATELY SLOW DOWN RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. EACH TIME FORD CLAIMED NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT WOULD BE ON FOR TWO DAYS. EACH TIME I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO FORD, THEY WOULD KEEP IT 2-5 DAYS... I COULDN'T GET A RENTAL CAR HALF OF THE TIME BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T ACTUALLY DO THEIR JOB UNTIL THE LAST DAY AND THEN TELL ME THAT NOTHING'S WRONG WITH MY CAR. WE ALL KNOW, YOUR WARRANTY COMPANY NEEDS TO KNOW THE PROBLEM BEFORE AUTHORIZING A RENTAL VEHICLE. THIS LAST TIME IN OCTOBER, THEY CLAIM TO HAVE FIXED IT. THEY CLAIM THAT A SENSOR HAD TO BE REPLACED. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER FORD VEHICLE. I CANNOT WAIT TO GET RID OF THIS CAR! MY CAR IS STILL SHAKY. IT MAKES A KIND OF LOUD NOISE NOW AS WELL. *TR
