Recalls and investigations

  1. Fuel system, gasoline, storage, evaporative emissions, canisterJun 9, 2026

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Focus vehicles previously repaired incorrectly under recall number 18V735. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, causing the engine to stall unexpectedly while driving.

An engine that stalls while driving increases the risk of a crash.

Dealers will update the powertrain control module (PCM) software, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 29, 2026. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S40. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov on July 6,2026.

  2. Equipment, electrical, engine block heaterJan 15, 2026

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2013-2018 Focus, 2013-2019 Escape, and 2015-2016 MKC vehicles equipped with a 2.0L engine. The engine block heater may crack and develop a coolant leak, causing it to short circuit when the block heater is plugged in.

An electrical short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.

Owners are advised not to plug in their block heater until the vehicle is remedied. Dealers will replace the block heater, free of charge. Owners will also have a alternative option to replace engine block heater element with a threaded plug, and remove the block heater electrical cord. Interim letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed March 6, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final remedy is available. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 26S01. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on January 16, 2026.

  3. Latches/locks/linkages, doors, latchJun 8, 2020

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

  4. Fuel system, gasoline, storageJul 5, 2019

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012 and 2017 Focus vehicles equipped with 2.0L GDI gasoline engines and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles equipped with 2.0L GTDI engines, previously recalled under 18V-735. The affected vehicles did not have the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) updated as intended. Therefore, the Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in the fuel vapor management system.

The excessive vacuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. Dealers will also check for fault codes and replace the CPV as needed. If the CPV is replaced, dealers will inspect and replace the carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module as necessary. The recall began July 29, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 19S22.

  5. Fuel system, gasoline, storageOct 22, 2018

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Ford Focus vehicles with a 2.0L GDI or 2.0L GTDI engine. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system.

The excessive vaccuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. Dealers will also check for fault codes and replace the CPV as needed. If the CPV is replaced, dealers will inspect and replace the carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module as necessary. The recall began August 19, 2019. Owners may contact Ford Customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S32. 6. Latches/locks/linkages, hatchback/liftgate, lockSep 28, 2016

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013-2017 Ford Focus hatchback vehicles manufactured February 14, 2012, to August 26, 2016 and equipped with a manual transmission. The hatchback of the affected vehicles may be unlatched with a single press of the interior latch release button. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

With only a single press needed, the driver may accidently unlatch the hatchback, increasing the risk of injury to any unsecured passengers in the back.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Body Control Module with updated software, free of charge. The recall began February 10, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16C13.

A component within the door latches may break, preventing the doors from latching and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.

A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the door latches with an improved part, free of charge. The recall began on January 27, 2017. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 16S30.

  8. Electrical system, wiringDec 2, 2015

Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured January 11, 2012, to April 1, 2013, and 2013-2014 Focus ST vehicles manufactured May 03, 2012, to October 14, 2013. Insufficient compression in the engine wiring harness splices to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor may provide incorrect signals to the powertrain control module (PCM).

The incorrect signals could cause the vehicle to hesitate or the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current crimped splices with new splices, free of charge. The recall began on January 7, 2016. Owners may contact Ford customer service 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 14S17-S1.

  10. Exterior lightingAug 1, 2013

Ford is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 Focus BEV vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured September 15, 2011, through May 6, 2013; and model year 2013 Focus ST vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights, manufactured February 16, 2012, through May 7, 2013. Due to a wiring incompatability, the front side marker lamps may not function. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

Without the proper illumination of the side maker lamps, the vehicle may be less visible in night time conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will modify the headlamp assembly wiring, free of charge. The recall began on August 16, 2013. Owners may contact the Ford customer relationship center at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's recall number is 13C04.

  11. Latches/locks/linkagesMar 7, 2013

Ford is recalling certain model year 2013 Focus and C-Max vehicles built from November 16, 2012, through November 21, 2012; and model year 2013 Escape vehicles manufactured from November 14, 2012, through November 21, 2012. The left rear door child lock was built incorrectly. As a result, the child lock may not engage when the operator uses normal force to activate the child lock.

The operator may incorrectly believe the child lock is engaged. However, the door may be opened from the inside, increasing the risk of injury to an unrestrained child.

Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the affected rear door latches, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began on March 27, 2013. Owners may contact Ford Motor Company Customer Relationship Center at 1-866-436-7332.

  12. EquipmentOct 2, 2012

This recall involves aftermarket parts sold by Yakima Products, Inc. for use on model year 2012 and 2013 Ford Focus vehicles. This recall is being conducted by Yakima, not by Ford. Certain combined Q-Tower and Q128 Clip rooftop rack systems, part numbers 8000124 and 8000728, do not fully contact the door frame.

Without proper contact of the rooftop rack clip to the door frame, there is insufficient clamping pressure and friction. The system may slide off the vehicle when loaded with accessories, possibly becoming a road hazard to other vehicles or causing injury to pedestrians.

Yakima will notify owners, and Yakima or a Yakima dealer will refund the purchase of the Q-Tower and Q-128 Clip system. There is no replacement system available for the 2012-2013 model year Ford Focus. The safety recall began on October 15, 2012. Only vehicles equipped with the vehicle rack system are affected. This recall is being conducted by Yakima, not Ford. Owners may contact Yakima at 1-888-925-4621.

  1. Other or unspecified, May 27, 2019

FOR AWHILE MY SPEAKERS WOULD MAKE A WEIRD POP NOISE ALMOST AS IF SOMEONE WAS DISCONNECTING AN AUX CORD AND THEN THE ENTIRE RADIO WOULD STOP WORKING. THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE IT WORK AGAIN WOULD BE TO TURN THE CAR ALL THE WAY OFF AND THEN BACK ON AGAIN. AS TIME WENT ON IT GOT WORSE. IT USED TO RANDOMLY MAKE A REALLY LOUD STATIC LIKE CRACKLING NOISE NO MATTER WHAT THE VOLUME WAS AT AND ID HAVE TO TURN THE RADIO OFF TO FIX IT. EVEN TURNING THE CAR OFF WOULDN'T WORK ANYMORE. NOW THE SCREEN IS BLANK AND THE RADIO DOESN'T WORK AT ALL. I CAN'T TURN THE RADIO OFF OR ON AND I CAN'T RECIEVE CALLS THROUGH SYNC ANYMORE. THIS ALL HAPPENED REGARDLESS IF MY CAR WAS IN MOTION OR IDLING

  2. Engine, May 27, 2019

THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN GIVING US PROBLEMS SINCE WE GOT THE VEHICLE. RIGHT NOW, IT IS AGAIN IN THE SHOP. IT IS REPAIRED AND THEN THERE IS ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE SAME SYSTEM. WHEN WE TAKE IT INTO THE SHOP, NUMEROUS PROBLEMS SHOW UP. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE FOR ONLY A LITTLE OVER A YEAR SO IT WOULD SEEM TO INDICATE THAT THERE ARE SERIOUS PROBLEMS.

  3. Visibility/wiper, May 26, 2019

WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN THE RAIN, FRONT WIPERS STOPPED WORKING CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES. REAR WIPERS CONTINUED TO WORK CORRECTLY. AFTER PARKING, WE TRIED THE WIPERS AGAIN, STILL WOULD NOT WORK. TRIED WIPERS AGAIN LATER IN DAY IN A GARAGE, THEY STILL WOULD NOT WORK. CHECKED FUSE, FUSE IS STILL GOOD. SWAPPED FUSE WITH ANOTHER KNOWN WORKING FUSE, BOTH FUSES WORKED BUT WIPERS STILL DID NOT WORK. LATER WIPERS STARTED WORKING WITHOUT PROMPT, AGAIN CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES AS IT WAS NOT RAINING, BUT WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN OR TURN OFF. SHUT CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY FROM IGNITION AND WIPERS CONTINUED TO RUN UNTIL FUSE WAS PULLED AGAIN.

  4. Latches/locks/linkages, May 24, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A TURN AT APPROXIMATELY 7 MPH, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED. THE CONTACT HAD TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND HAVE THE PASSENGER HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SUNRISE FORD (5435 US-1, FT PIERCE, FL 34982) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH FAILED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAME DEALER REPLACED ALL FOUR DOOR LATCHES IN 2017 AS PART OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V643000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE RECURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WOULD HAVE TO BE REPAIRED AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.

  5. Fuel/propulsion system, May 23, 2019

FIRST SIGN OF AN ISSUE WAS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATING IN OCTOBER OF 2018. SHORTLY AFTER THE ENGINE RANDOMLY STARTED LOSING POWER AND SHUTTING DOWN COMPLETELY AT RANDOM INTERVALS. IT COULD EITHER BE WHILE DRIVING OR SITTING AT A STOP LIGHT. I GO TO ACCELERATE AND NOTICE THE ENGINE HAS SHUT OFF. THE CAR WILL FREQUENTLY BEHAVE AS IF IT HAS REDUCED POWER WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. THE RPMS OF THE CAR WILL ALSO RANDOMLY FLUCTUATE AS THE CAR IS STRUGGLING TO GET ENOUGH FUEL TO KEEP IT RUNNING WHICH ALSO BRINGS A VERY ROUGH IDLE. THE RPMS DO NOT CLIMB AS QUICKLY AND THE ENGINE HAS A LOW RUMBLE TO IT SOUNDING LIKE IT IS STRUGGLING. THIS IS ALSO ACCOMPANIED BY WHAT SOUNDS LIKE BACKFIRES COMING FROM THE EXHAUST. WHEN REFUELING AND PUTTING THE GAS PUMP INTO THE CAR THERE IS A LARGE HIGH PRESSURE RELEASE FROM THE GAS TANK. UPON TRYING TO RESTART THE CAR THE STARTER MOTOR HAS TO SPIN FOR AN EXTRA 5 SECONDS OR SO UNTIL THE ENGINE TURNS ON. WHEN IT DOES TURN ON IT SPUTTERS AND STRUGGLES TO GET TO A STABLE IDLE RPM.

  6. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 23, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE LEAKED FUEL. ALSO, WHEN THE CONTACT FILLED UP THE FUEL TANK, THE FUEL TANK GAUGE WOULD NOT MOVE. CURRENTLY, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED BILL NIGHT FORD (9607 S MEMORIAL DR, TULSA, OK 74133, (918) 526-2400), BUT THE DEALER WOULD NOT SCHEDULE A TOW TRUCK TO RETRIEVE THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 141,000.

  7. Power train, May 22, 2019

THE CAR JERKS AND SHUTTERS WHEN TAKING OFF FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THIS IS WORSE WHEN THE A/C IS ON. WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR WILL JERK BETWEEN SHIFTING GEARS CAUSING THE CAR TO MOVE SLOWER AT TAKE OFF WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS.

  8. Fuel/propulsion system, May 22, 2019

FORD HAS NOT ACTED ON THEIR RECALL (FORD RECALL #) 18S32, FOR OVER 7 MONTHS.

  9. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Service brakes, May 22, 2019

PASSENGER SIDE TAIL LIGHT IS OUT (BRAKE LIGHT BULB FAULT WARNING LIGHT IS ON). AFTER SEVERAL BULB CHANGES, THE BRAKE LIGHT EITHER DOES NOT COME ON OR IT BURNS OUT VERY QUICKLY. AN ON-LINE SEARCH REVEALED THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND FORD HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT THIS SAFETY CONCERN. I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS PROBLEM FIRST STARTED BECAUSE IT MAY HAVE BEEN A LONG TIME BEFORE SOMEONE ELSE NOTICED IT AND ALERTED ME. THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT AS SOON AS THE KEY IS TURNED ON.

  10. Steering, May 20, 2019

POWER STEERING FAULT NUMEROUS TIMES AND CAR HAS TO BE SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED SOMETIMES MULTIPLE TIMES TO GET POWER STEERING TO WORK SO THE CAR IS DRIVEABLE

  11. Electrical system, Seats, Fuel/propulsion system, May 20, 2019

ONE DAY WHILE FILLING CAR UP.. I NOTICED A FEW DROPS OF GAS ON THE GROUND AFTERWARDS. TODAY I WANTED TO ADD $8 TO MY GAS TANK. THE MOMENT I STARTED PUMPING THE GAS STARTED COMING OUT. I TRIED A FEW TIMES TO CONTINUE BUT I KEPT COMING OUT.

  12. Steering, May 19, 2019

MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HATCHBACK POWER STEERING STOP WORKING! THIS IS NOT GOOD BECAUSE NOW I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HIT SOMETHING BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER MANEUVER AROUND IT. THE CAR IS HARD TO STEER AND SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON ANY VEHICLE! LUCKILY THIS HAPPENED HOURS AFTER GETTING HOME FROM WORK. NOW I HAVE TO DRIVE MY CAR LIKE THIS UNTIL I PAY IT OFF OR TRADE IT IN! THAT'S CRAZY AND I HAVE FOUND OUT THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD THIS ISSUE!

  13. Power train, May 17, 2019

WHILE IN MOTION ON A HIGHWAY OR STREET, THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND SHUTTERS AS THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION ISN'T ENGAGING CORRECTLY, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO EITHER ACCELERATE TOO QUICKLY OR NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL SOMETIMES AND WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT THIS VEHICLE WILL AND DOES SHUTTER AND HESITATE TO GO FORWARD WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNS GREEN TO GO, WHICH IN TURN ALLOWS THE VEHICLE BEHIND IT TO ASSUME MY VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT THE CORRECT SPEED FOR THEM TO FOLLOW WHEN IT IS NOT. I HAVE TO BE CAREFUL WHEN PULLING ONTO A HIGHWAY THAT THERE IS NO OTHER VEHICLES COMING FOR QUITE A DISTANCE SO I CAN PULL ONTO THE HIGHWAY SAFELY WITHOUT MY VEHICLE HESITATING TO GO FORWARD OR SHUTTERING, WHICH IS A HUGE SAFETY HAZARD FOR MYSELF AND MY PASSENGERS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE PUT IT, AND IT SCARES ME TO EVEN DRIVE THE CAR. THE CAR HAS ONLY 40,000 MILES ON IT AND SHOULD NEVER BE DOING THIS. I'VE HAD IT TO DIFFERENT REPAIR SHOPS TO SEE WHAT COULD BE WRONG AND EVERY ONE OF THEM HAVE TOLD ME TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT, AND I'VE DONE THAT AND THEY SAY "THERES NOTHING THEY CAN DO, TO CONTACT YOU". I WOULD LIKE TO JUST TRADE IT OFF, BUT, I WOULD FEEL HORRIBLE IF SOMEONE ELSE GOT IT AND ENDED UP IN A SERIOUS/FATAL CAR ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT. THERE HAS BEEN OTHER SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH OTHER FORD FOCUS VEHICLES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED, BUT I'VE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL ON MINE AS OF YET AND I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES DUE TO THIS MAJOR MALFUNCTION.

  14. Power train, May 15, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR ATTEMPTING TO SWITCH LANES, THE VEHICLE HESITATED. THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE SHUT DOWN, BUT LATER RESTARTED. ALSO, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED HALL FORD ELIZABETH CITY AT 877-475-0723 (LOCATED AT 1310 N ROAD ST, ELIZABETH CITY, NC 27909) AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEIR FACILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CALLED, BUT THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED.

I AM HAVING AN ISSUE WITH FILLING MY CAR WITH GASOLINE. IT CAN TAKE ME UP TO 20 MINUTES TO PUT $10 WORTH OF GAS IN THE CAR. THE GAS NOZZLE CONSTANTLY WILL CLICK OFF WHEN I AM FILLING THE TANK. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF I AM DOING IT MANUALLY OR IF I SET THE GAS NOZZLE TO THE AUTOMATIC FEATURE. I HAVE TO CONTINUALLY DEPRESS THE NOZZLE TO FILL MY CAR AND IT CONSTANTLY CLICKS OFF. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT GAS STATIONS, AND I WILL TRY TO HOLD THE NOZZLE IN DIFFERENT WAY, BUT IT NEVER WORKS PROPERLY.

  21. Power train, Electrical system, Engine, May 12, 2019, fire

SINCE IVE PURCHASED MY FORD FOCUS BACK IN 2013 I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR BACK TO FORD DEALERSHIP ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS IN RELATION TO THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. ON MY 5TH ATTEMPT MY TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS AROUND THE END OF 2017 TO 2018. ON MAY 2ND 2019 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND AS SOON AS I TURNED ON THE CAR THE WINDSHEILD WIPERS STARTED TO GO OFF AND FOR SOME REASON I COULD NOT TURN THEM OFF. ONCE I ARRIVED ONTO MY WORK CAMPUS I TURNED THE CORNEE TO PARK MY CAR... WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY CAR FLASHED AN ERROR MESSAGE ON MY DASH STATING THE FOLLOWING, " TRANSMISSION FAILURE REPAIR NOW". I CALMLY PARKED THE CAR AND WITHIN SECONDS OF TURNING OFF THE CAR I SEE SMOKE AND THEN FLAMES FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY ENGINE HOOD. I QUICKLY EXITED THE CAR ABD THE FLAMES GOT BIGGER AND BIGGER. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED AND THE HAD TO SMASH THE BACK WINDOW DUE TO THE FLAMES THAT HAD OVER TAKEN THE FRONT OF THE CAR. UNFORTUNETLY MY CAR IS NOT A TOTAL LOSS. I WAS AT THE END OF MY CONTRACT AGREEMENT WITH FORD AND INLY HAVING TO PAY 6400 LEFT ON MY LOAN. IVE CALLED THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE TO COMPLAIN AND SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE AND WAS TOLD I WOULD GET A LETTER IN 2 WEEKS BY THEIR LEGAL COUNCIL. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO DELAY MY ENTRY INTO NURSING SCHOOL SINCE NOW I HAVE TO WORK TO HANDLE THE CAR THE NEW CAR I JUST HAD TO BUY. I NEED TRANSPORTATION FOR WORK AND FORD TOOK THAT FROM ME. IVE NOW SEEKED OUT A LAWYER TO SEE WHAT CAN BE DONE. WITH ALL THE TIMES I ASKED FOR HELP AND I ENDED UP SEEING MY CAR GO UP IN SMOKE. IM JUST SO THANKFUL I WAS ABLE TO GET OUT IOF THE CAR IN TIME. BUT BELIEVE ME IM STILL SHAKEN AND THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO NEVER BUY FORD AGAIN.

MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER18S32 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER18V735 OUR VEHICLE'S FUEL TANK COLLAPSED OVER A YEAR AGO AND WE ARE UNABLE TO FULLY USE THE VEHICLE. FORD DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE PROVIDING NECESSARY PARTS TO DEALERS FOR REPAIR. WE ARE GETTING NOWHERE AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE. PERHAPS YOU CAN COMPEL FORD TO FIX THIS RECALL IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER. I SUSPECT THERE ARE OTHERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.

I'M AT THE TAIL END OF A BUYBACK FOR MULTIPLE RECALL ISSUES THAT SEEM TO BE UNFIXABLE. THEY HAD ALSO REPLACED A WEEK ENGINE MOUNT THAT IS FAILING NOW THEY HAD TO REPLACE A SAFETY RECALL FOR GAS FUEL. ALL OF WHICH IN THE PAST DOWNTOWN FORD IN SACRAMENTO DID FOR FREE AND NOW THEY ARE TRYING TO CHARGE ME $1300 TO FIX THE RECALLS AND REPAIRS THAT THEY HAD DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. SINCE IT WAS ORDERED TO THEM BY YOU GUYS. AND NOW THEY ARE SAYING AT FUTURE FORD OF SACRAMENTO OFF OF MADISON AVENUE THAT THEY WILL NOT FIX IT FOR FREE AND THAT THEY ARE GOING TO TRY AND TAKE IT OUT OF MY SETTLEMENT WHEN THEYARE SCAM ARTISTS AND ARE CHARGING ME WAY MORE THAN ANY PART NEEDS TO BE. AND I'M ALSO BEING LIED TO BY FORD WRAP WHO TOLD ME THEY WERE GOING TO PAY FOR THE PARTS AND THEY WERE ALSO GOING TO PUT ME IN A RENTAL. ALL OF WHICH WAS A LIE. I HAVE LOST HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN WAGES I'VE HAD A TON OF PAIN AND SUFFERING FROM HAVING TO BE LIED TO OVER AND OVER AGAIN AND THINKING I AM BEING HELPED WHEN IN FACT ALL THEY'RE DOING IS TRYING TO TAKE MY MONEY AND PUT ME IN A UNSAFE CAR THAT COULD'VE KILLED ME OR MY LOVED ONES MULTIPLE TIMES BECAUSE OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE AND THEY ARE NOT BEING HELD LIABLE

WE BOUGHT OUR 2013 FORD FOCUS ST IN FEBURARY 2017. STARTING IN 2018 SOMETIMES IT WOULDN'T D GO IN REVERSE. IT ALSO STARTED HESITATING WHILE WE ARE DRIVING OR PULLING OUT IN TRAFFIC. NOW IN 2019 IT WILL COMPLETELY LOSE POWER GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR JUST THE STREET AND LEAVE US STRANDED. WE HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND HAVE HAD OTHER RECALLS ADDRESSED. I HAVE SEEN A RECALL FOR THE WIRING HARNESS BUT IT DOESN'T SHOW UP WITH OUR VIN NUMBER. IT WAS MANUFACTURED JAN 1ST 2013. THIS CAR IS VERY UNRELIABLE. YOU NEVER KNOW IF WILL TURN ON AND IF IT DOES IT MAY MAKE IT A MINOR OR 10+ MILES.
