Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.
A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. My 2014 Ford Focus experienced a sudden failure of the DPS6 transmission. The vehicle shows trouble code P07A3 (Clutch A Stuck On). The car jerks violently when shifting, loses power, hesitates in traffic, and sometimes fails to engage gears properly. This creates a dangerous situation when merging, crossing intersections, or accelerating from a stop. Sport mode stopped working, and the transmission enters a failure state during driving. The problem puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle does not respond consistently when accelerating. Multiple times the car lurched or delayed when I tried to pull into traffic. A dealership inspected the vehicle and confirmed the transmission problem, but refused assistance because the TCM warranty was marked “expired,” even though this is a known DPS6 defect that affects many 2012–2016 Focus vehicles. Ford customer service also refused escalation. A warning lamp (Check Engine) appeared, and the issue progressively got worse. The problem is reproducible at any time, and the vehicle is unsafe to drive.

I wish to file a complaint regarding my 2014 Ford Focus, which is experiencing transmission failures related to the known defective transmission system. Ford acknowledged widespread issues with this transmission in customer satisfaction program 14m02, which extended coverage for the transmission control module (tcm). The TCM module was replaced, under recall, in April 2025 and during that same visit at B & B Ford, Barnwell SC I was told that I needed to replace the Acutators and this would stop the car from shuddering during acceleration. This cost me $658.00 out of pocket. I noticed almost immediately that the car was still shuddering during acceleration and called B & B Ford back and I was told to drive it for 500 miles and then let them know if it continued. Due to an illness I did not drive the car that much but then in October 2025 I started noticing the shuttering again. I contacted B & B Ford again and they agreed to look at the car. NOW THEY ARE TELLING ME I NEED TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH/FORK SYSTEM AT A PRICE OF $3300.00 THAT I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR. I have filed a complaint, a lot of good that will do me, with Ford. They are fully aware of systemic failures in the transmission. Safety hazard: transmission hesitation, shuddering, and sudden loss of power create dangerous driving conditions, especially when merging or crossing intersections. Unfair limitation of remedy: the expiration of 14m02 leaves owners like me with out of pocket expenses that are outrageous. And again I will say - FORD KNOWS ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT. I am requesting that an inquiry be made into this matter immediately and that Ford make a recall that covers the issues that I am having along with many other Ford Focus owners. Take responsibility for the defect in this car

2014 Ford Focus SE with PowerShift automatic transmission. Transmission Control Module (TCM) failed, causing vehicle to lose power while driving. Ford confirmed VIN not covered under Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02 despite identical issue and safety risk. Requesting investigation and expansion of TCM coverage. Ford is stating that this was never attached to my vin number although it is an identical issue

The check engine light comes on; check and advise. The Ford dealer performed an EEC test, retrieved codes P1674 and P0122, tested the system, and found the wiring harness rubbing at the intake manifold. They disassembled to gain access, repaired the wiring harness at the engine, wrapped and re-routed the harness, cleaned all codes, and retested. It passed the road test and was OK, but the dealer charged me for this harness repair, and I found that this exact issue was subject to a Ford Motor Company safety recall (Recall 14S17 / NHTSA Recall 14V-495) concerning the engine wiring harness.

During acceleration there is a hesitation. With the Transmission almost like the car was put into neutral. The accelerator needs to be fluttered to get it to respond. This has happened several times pulling into traffic. This last time it happened the notice came on stating that the Transmission is over heating. Pulled over to let it cool down. I notice recalls for this problem but my car is not listed. This happens at different speeds Any help would be appreciated. Actuator motor went out. Transmission was eligible to be replaced in 2020 however due to Covid they “could not get the parts” and the vehicle became too old for replacement. The transmissions and gear boxes on this module has been plagued with failures, and Ford needs to remove the mileage and year limitations to fix them. I ended up paying over $900 and then traded the vehicle in so that I wouldn’t have to spend more on a faulty transmission.

My car was experiencing: Shuddering or jerking during acceleration from a stop, most noticeable in traffic; Rough or delayed gear shifting, especially between first and second gear; Sudden loss of drive or delays before the car engages in drive or reverse, et cetera. It was in essence having every symptom that your agency has required ford to fix in their 2014 Focus,a car that I have as well; however, not sure why my car wasn't listed in recall because it has identical issues. For cost saving purposes, I replaced the actuators myself, and asked Ford if they could do the reprogramming for me, which is required after replacement, and they will not do so without an exorbitant costs.

Order of Events · [XXX]: Vehicle shut down mid-drive, displaying “Parking Brake Fault Service Required.” Required tow ($100). · September 27, 2025: Firestone Complete Auto Care diagnosed the issue as transmission-related. Paid $48.13 for diagnostic (receipt attached). · September 27, 2025: Contacted Green Ford in Greensboro, NC (Service Advisor Josh Oldham). VIN was entered in Ford’s database, which showed no outstanding field service actions. I showed them a recall letter for the exact issue at hand (replacement of Transmission Control Module). My recall letter was dismissed as invalid despite being in hand. Vehicle towed to dealer ($120). · September 29, 2025: Spent over 1 hour 19 minutes with Ford Customer Relationship Center, providing the recall number (14M02). Ford agent ultimately stated the recall could not be honored. · September 30 – October 1, 2025: Dealer confirmed by text and phone that their management refused to apply the recall or cover repairs. VIN Discrepancy The core of this dispute is a direct contradiction between Ford’s official communications and Ford’s internal VIN database. Customer Satisfaction Program Letter (14M02): - VIN listed as covered under recall/extended warranty. - Coverage extended through June 2025. - Sent directly by Ford in August 2023. Ford Vehicle Information / Warranty Report (via Green Ford, 9/27/2025): - Same VIN entered into Ford’s system. - Shows 'No Outstanding Field Service Actions.' - Dealer therefore refused to honor recall despite letter. Before all of this happened I had no issues with the vehicle since purchase, and so when I received the letter I kept it but did not need to utilize it. Now Ford has stated I am "outside" the warranty of what Ford is willing to cover for repairs, however their own system does not even list that I have a recall for this. I understand there were problems with the 2014 transmissions on Ford Focus models. Even though my car has a manual transmission, I believe it had similar problems to the automatic teansmissions.in switching from 1 to 2, it would sometimes drop. I'm now having issues with my transmission and wondering if the problem is the same.

I am having an issue with the duel transmission. My car has been stalling making it unsafe. It has been giving me a warning saying the transmission is overheating even just driving short distances. The clutch A has been getting stuck and not dis engaging causing the car not to be able to shift gears. I have spent all of the money I have on this car and can’t afford to pay money to get it fixed when ford is aware of the issues when it was manufactured. They have issued recalls and are responsible to fix the problem. The recall needs to be extended so that hard working tax payers like me don’t feel screwed over by ford and out of so much money. I feel taken advantage of. And I’m broke , stuck with a car that is unsafe to me or others on the road.

I am filing a complaint against Ford Motor Company for their refusal to honor Recall 15B22 (Customer Satisfaction Program) related to the transmission issues on my 2014 Ford Fusion Hatchback. We purchased this vehicle as the second owners, and it currently has only 140,000 miles. Despite the recall still being in effect, Ford has denied coverage and is demanding nearly $2,000 to repair the transmission, stating that it needs a new computer. This has caused significant hardship for my family. The vehicle is my son’s first car, purchased with the last of our savings, and it has been stuttering horribly, making it unsafe and unreliable to drive. What should have been an exciting and empowering first-car experience has turned into a stressful financial and emotional burden. Recalls exist to correct known defects that compromise safety and vehicle reliability. Ownership status should not be grounds for denying repairs. Ford’s refusal to perform the repair under Recall 15B22 violates the spirit and intent of consumer protection laws and leaves families like mine without recourse. I respectfully request that your office investigate this matter and require Ford to cover the transmission repair under the recall, as they are obligated to do. I am happy to provide additional documentation, including my vehicle information, service denial, and any related correspondence. Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your assistance in resolving this matter fairly and promptly

I am writing to file a complaint regarding my 2014 Ford Focus, which is experiencing transmission failures related to the known defective transmission system. Ford acknowledged widespread issues with this transmission in Customer Satisfaction Program 14M02, which extended coverage for the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Unfortunately, my vehicle’s failure occurred 2 months after the program expired in June 2025, and I was informed by my dealer that Ford will no longer cover the repair. This situation is deeply concerning for several reasons: Known Defect: Ford has long been aware of systemic failures in the transmission. Numerous recalls, service programs, and even class-action settlements confirm that these problems are widespread and not isolated. Safety Hazard: Transmission hesitation, shuddering, and sudden loss of power create dangerous driving conditions, especially when merging or crossing intersections. Unfair Limitation of Remedy: The expiration of 14M02 leaves owners like me with expensive repairs for a defect Ford already admitted responsibility for. Ford’s responsibility to address this issue should not end simply because the program expired, particularly when the defect poses ongoing safety risks. I am requesting that Ford: Provide goodwill coverage to replace/repair the failed transmission control module (or related components) at no cost to me. Extend support for affected owners beyond the June 2025 expiration, as the defect persists in vehicles on the road today. I have filed or will be filing this complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Better Business Bureau Auto Line, and my State Attorney General’s office so that my concerns are documented at the federal and state level. I urge Ford to take responsibility and ensure customer safety by addressing this defective transmission beyond arbitrary deadlines. My car has been to the shop twice for the TCM issues, and both times, in 2016 and 2021, the shop performed adaptive learning and cleared the codes, instead of replacing the faulty part. Now, the TCM has completely broken and needs to be replaced. The car wouldn't start at the gas station suddenly. After rocking the car back and forth it did start, but wouldn't go when shifted into drive. It is apparently 2 months out of the extended warranty coverage and now, I have to pay $1,300+ for a repair?! This seems unfair. They knew they had a faulty part, they performed band-aid fixes, and now I am holding the bag.

Subject: Urgent Safety Concern – Transmission Failure on 2014 Ford Focus (VIN: [XXX] ) To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to report a critical and ongoing safety issue with my 2014 Ford Focus. The vehicle stalls without warning, pops out of gear, and frequently overheats regardless of outside temperature. These failures occur while idling at traffic lights, merging into traffic, and during regular driving conditions. This issue has placed me in dangerous situations daily—I've narrowly avoided collisions and have been forced to block traffic because the car will not engage gear for 5 to 20 minutes at a time. It is not safe for me to exit the vehicle during these episodes, and I am deeply concerned for my safety and the safety of others. I understand there may not be an active recall for this VIN, but the symptoms align with known issues related to the PowerShift transmission. I am requesting an immediate diagnostic review and assistance under any applicable warranty, customer satisfaction program, or technical service bulletin. I took it to the automotive parts store and the guy there had me turn the key off and disconnect the battery and that seem to turn off the car. After they had my car scanned with a computer and found lots of issues with. Car stalls and had check engine lights and also a transmission warning light on making it difficult for the car to drive. Recently water dripping inside the vehicle passenger side when the AC is turned on. The car also doesn’t unlock the doors from the inside have to open it for the passenger side.
