Latches/locks/linkages, doors, latchJun 8, 2020
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2011-2014 Fiesta, 2013-2014 Fusion, 2015 Mustang, 2013-2015 Escape and C-Max, 2012-2015 Focus, 2014-2016 Transit Connect, 2013-2014 Lincoln MKZ, and 2015 MKC vehicles. These vehicles were previously recalled and repaired under recalls 15V-246, 16V-643 or 17V-210, however the repair may not have been completed properly. A component within the door latches may break making the doors difficult to latch and/or leading the driver or a passenger to believe a door is securely closed when, in fact, it is not.
A door that is not securely latched could open while the vehicle is in motion, increasing the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the latch date codes to confirm if the repair was done correctly, and replace the side door latches if necessary, free of charge. Owners will also have the option to inspect their own vehicle's door latches and enter the date codes into a website to determine if the latches are correct. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 27, 2020. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 20S30.

Fuel system, gasoline, storageOct 22, 2018
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Ford Focus vehicles with a 2.0L GDI or 2.0L GTDI engine. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system.
The excessive vaccuum may result in an engine stall while driving, without warning and without the ability to restart the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Ford will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Powertrain Control Module. Dealers will also check for fault codes and replace the CPV as needed. If the CPV is replaced, dealers will inspect and replace the carbon canister, fuel tank and fuel delivery module as necessary. The recall began August 19, 2019. Owners may contact Ford Customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S32. Also included are four 2017 Ford Focus vehicles that had clutch replacements with potentially affected parts. The clutch may fracture, resulting in damage to the transmission assembly and possibly a transmission fluid leak.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 206, "Door Locks and Door Retention Components."

Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 6, 2019
MY 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS BEEN HAVING STALLING ISSUES. MY VIN# IS ON THE RECALL LIST AND THE LETTER THAT I RECEIVED FROM 12/2018 ADVISED THAT I KEEP AT LEAST HALF A TANK OF GAS IN MY CAR. HOWEVER, MY CAR STALLS EVEN WHEN I KEEP A FULL TANK. MY CAR ALSO SHUDDERS AND SOMETIMES EVEN TURNS OFF AFTER I FILL MY GAS TANK. WHEN MY CAR IS ABOUT TO STALL, I SEE THAT THE TACHOMETER WILL SUDDENLY FLUCTUATE AND THEN SIMPLY DROP TO ZERO. THIS USUALLY HAPPENS WHEN I'M ABOUT TO COME TO A STOP BUT OCCASIONALLY OCCURS WHEN I'M SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. MY CAR NOW STALLS ON A DAILY BASIS. I HAVE CALLED THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY THREE TIMES IN THE LAST 30 DAYS AND TOLD THEM WHAT IS HAPPENING AND HOW UNSAFE IT IS TO DRIVE A CAR IN THIS WAY. EACH TIME I AM TOLD THAT THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THE PARTS WILL ARRIVE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS, EVEN THOUGH MY RECALL LETTER SAID BY THE END OF THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2019. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC AND THEY ALSO STATED THAT MY STALLING ISSUES ARE MOST LIKELY RELATED TO THE RECALL. I NO LONGER DRIVE MY CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND TRY TO MAINLY STICK TO DRIVING ON BACKROADS WHERE POSSIBLE DUE TO FEARS OF STALLING AND POSSIBLY GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT BUT THIS IS A HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE SITUATION FROM FORD. ASSISTANCE WOULD BE GREATLY GREATLY APPRECIATED. I PROVIDED THE DATE OF 4/6/19 AS THE DATE OF MY CAR STALLING BUT, AS I STATED EARLIER, THIS HAPPENS DAILY AND IS UNSAFE.
Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 5, 2019
MY CAR STALLS WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY & LET OFF THE GAS & SPEED REDUCES RPMS DROP & CAR STALLS. VERY DANGEROUS. FORD HAS A RECALL ISSUE WITH THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE BUT MY VIN# IS NOT ON THAT LIST FOR SOME REASON. PLEASE HELP IT IS DANGEROUS!!
Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 2, 2019
THE FORD FOCUS RECALL FOR THE FUEL TANK DEFORMATION IS NOT ACCURATE. THE RECALL LETTER WE RECEIVED SAID TO MAINTAIN AT LEAST 1/2 TANK OF FUEL, BUT MY CAR HAS SHUT DOWN MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND AT TURNAROUNDS DESPITE HAVING A FULL TANK. THE SOLUTION TO THIS WAS PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED FOR DECEMBER 2018 AND HAS BEEN POSTPONED UNTIL THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2019. FORD NEEDS TO BE FURTHER PRESSURED TO FIND A SOLUTION NOW AS THIS POSES A MAJOR CRASH RISK.
Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 13, 2019

WHILE DRIVING THE ENGINE STALLS, TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AS PER THE RECALL LETTER FROM FORD. THE CAR KEEPS STALLING AS BEFORE, THIS IS DAGEROUS AS YOU NEED TO PRESS THE BRAKES TO START IT AND THIS IS A HAZARD IN THE HIGHWAY. TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AGAING TODAY.
Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 25, 2019
THIS RECALL HAS BEEN SINCE 12/2018 AND FORD HAS NO PARTS TO FIX THIS. I HAVE CALLED CORPORATE AND THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET THEM. THIS ISSUE HAS NOW MADE THE CAR UNDRIVABLE AND THEY WILL NOT HELP ME. I SPENT ALL MORNING ON THE PHONE.
Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 25, 2019
I HAVE NOTIFIED FORD OF THE ISSUE WITH MY CPV (CANISTER PURGE VALVE), WHICH CAUSES MY 2015 FORD FOCUS TO SUDDENLY STALL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IN OCTOBER OF 2018. IT IS NOW 02/25/2019 AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS CAUSES A GREAT SAFETY ISSUE TO MYSELF AND DRIVERS AROUND ME WHEN THE CAR SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING.
Electrical system, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 22, 2019
DRIVING MY VEHICLE IN NORMAL CONDITIONS WITH OVER 30 MILES LEFT TO A CHARGE ON A SUBURBAN STREET GOING APPROXIMATELY 45 MILES PER HOUR, SUDDENLY A RED TRIANGLE WARNING APPEARED ON THE DASH STATING STOP SAFELY NOW. 60 SECONDS LATER THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AND I LOST ALL POWER LEAVING ME STRANDED IN THE DARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND PROCEED HOME. THERE IS NEVER ANY PRIOR WARNING TO THIS HAPPENING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES TO ME WITHIN A 2 MONTH PERIOD AND I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MY DEALERSHIP TWICE WITH NO RESULTS. I DRIVE 40 MILES TO WORK ONE WAY ON VERY BUSY PHOENIX FREEWAYS AND AM PETRIFIED THIS WILL HAPPEN IN THE HOV LANE AND I END UP IN A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE AN ISSUE ON PREVIOUS YEARS MODEL RECALL NO 13V-523000. THE DEALERSHIP IS NO HELP AND TOLD ME THEY COULD FIND NO INFORMATION REGARDING IT EVEN THOUGH I DID.
Vehicle speed control, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 20, 2019
THE CAR SHUT OFF ON ME WHILE DRIVING AND I SCHEDULED THE DEALERSHIP TO FIX IT BECAUSE I FOUND SIMILAR ISSUES AND A RECALL BUT WHEN I DROPPED MY CAR OFF THEY SAID NO RECALL EXISTED FOR MY CAR AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN ABOUT MY CAR. WHEN I WAS LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP I ALMOST GOT HIT IN TRAFFIC BECAUSE I HAD THE SAME ISSUE FOR TWO DAYS IN A ROW AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING.
Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 14, 2019
VEHICLE STALLS WHILE DRIVING, REGARDLESS OF SPEED AND FUEL LEVEL. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT GOES ON AND OFF REGULARLY. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS NOTHING WRONG BUT VEHICLE CONTINUES TO STALL.
Fuel/propulsion system, Feb 12, 2019
FUEL TANK DEFORMATION: MY CAR STOPS WITH NO WARNING AT LEAST 2 -3 TIMES DAILY. IT'S GETTING WORSE AND IS NOW HARDER TO RESTART. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND CAN BE DEADLY. I'VE CONTACTED MY CAR DEALERSHIP AND THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE IN ORDER TO FIX MY CAR. I DO NOT HAVE A SECOND CAR. I LIVE ALONE. I NEED A CAR TO GET SAFELY BACK AND FORTH TO WORK. I'M GOING TO GET REAR ENDED BEFORE THIS IS ALL SAID AND DONE. A FORD SPOKESPERSON TOLD ME I CANNOT GET A LOANER. THE OWNER OF THE CAR DEALERSHIP TELLS ME IT'S FORD'S PROBLEM NOT THEIRS. FORD TELLS ME I'M BASICALLY OUT OF LUCK AND I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A TICKING TIME BOMB. I NEED HELP WITH THIS MESS AND I NEED IT NOW BEFORE I'M INVOLVED IN A TRAGIC ACCIDENT. AT LEAST TELL ME THE STATUS OF THIS RECALL #18V735. THIS VEHICLE STOPS WITH NO WARNING WEATHER I'M GOING DOWN THE ROAD, STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT OR GOING AROUND A CURVE. IT WILL NOT GIVE ANY NOTICE FOR ME TO EVEN PULL OFF THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. STOPS DEAD!! LIKE I'M GOING TO BE IF THIS ISN'T FIXED. YOUR NEXT QUESTION ASKS WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN. TOO MANY TIMES TO PUT DOWN SINCE IT IS BASICALLY DAILY AND 3 TIMES TODAY.

THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE FUEL PURGE VALVE GETTING STUCK AND NOT ALLOWING MY CAR TO STAY ON AFTER TURNING MY CAR ON IT WILL RUN FOR 5 TO 10 SECONDS BEFORE IT STALLS DUE TO LOSS OF FUEL. I TOOK MY CAR TO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE THE PART TO REPLACE IT, BUT THEY TOOK MY CAR IN, ONCE I GOT MY CAR THE VERY SAME DAY BACK. IT DID IT AGAIN THE NEXT MORNING. I HAVE TRIED FUEL CLEANERS TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM BUT IT STILL PERSISTS, IT STALLED ON ME WHILE DRIVING ON THIS PAST MONDAY, AND NOW WHEN I TRY TO SEARCH FOR THE RECALL FOR INFORMATION IT LOOKS LIKE IT WAS TAKEN OFF FROM THEIR WEBSITE. THE ISSUE IS NOT FIXED AND THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART? AS A CONSUMER WHAT CAN WE DO TO FIX A DEFECT FROM MANUFACTURING. MY CAR IS A 2015 FORD FOCUS WITH 75K MILES AND THERE WAS ISSUES WITH THIS CAR FROM THE START, INCLUDING THE KNOWN ISSUE ABOUT THE DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION WHERE IT STUTTERS AND SHAKES WHILE TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS AND TAKE OFF FROM FULL STOP. THIS CAR SHOULD BE CONSIDER A LEMON CAR AND NO ONE SHOULD BUY IT. THIS IS FRAUD BY FORD AND THEY KNOW IT.

I HAVE THIS ERROR CODE FROM A OBD-2 CODE READER FROM AUTOZONE. DEALERSHIP DIDN'T GIVE ME ANY FEESBACK ON THE CHECK ENGINE ISSUE WHEN I HAD IT IN FOR A FUEL TANK ISSUE. ERROR CODE IS 'U0109 LOST COMMUNICATION WITH FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE (FPCM)' THE CAR SAT IN THE DRIVEWAY ALL SUMMER LONG WITH A FULL FUEL TANK OF GASOLINE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR THAT ISSUE CAME ON SHORTLY AFTER I STARTED DRIVING THE FORD FOCUS AGAIN. READ MORE AT: HTTPS://WWW.OBD-CODES.COM/U0109 COPYRIGHT OBD-CODES.COM
