I HAVE A 2016 FORD FOCUS AND HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE DAY ONE I'VE HAD THE CAR AT DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE WIPERS FIRST THEY SAID CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG NEXT THEY SAID THEY ADJUSTED THE WIPERS THEN THEY SAID THEY CHANGED THE MOTOR . IT STILL STOPS IN MY VIEW WHENEVER IT RAINS I TOLD THEM IT'S STILL HAPPENING AND I WAS TOLD TO CHANGE THE WIPERS. I'M NO I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO WITH A NEW CAR. ONE MORNING I GET INTO THE CAR AND HAD FROST ON THE INSIDE OF MY WINDSHIELD I TURNED THE DEFROST ON AND WATCH MY WINDSHIELD CRACK BROUGHT TO FORD AND THEY SAID SOMETHING HIT IT LIKE A ROCK I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED BUT WOULDN'T ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE WAS A DEFECT I TOLD THEM THAT IF THE WINDSHIELD HAD A SOLID SEAL I WOULD NOT GET FROST ON THE INSIDE THEY BRUSHED ME OFF. AND NOW MY CAR DOESN'T START RIGHT AWAY AND I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ALL THEY SAID WAS NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT. I'M SO FRUSTRATED WITH THIS CAR SINCE DAY ONE NO ONE AT FORD WILL HELP ME. THERE ARE OTHER PROBLEMS LIKE THE INTERIOR LIGHTS KEEP GOING OUT . I'M SO TIRED OF WASTING MY TIME BRINGING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP BEING MADE TO FEEL LIKE AN IDIOT. FORD SAYS THEY PRIDE THEMSELVES ON CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT I YET TO SEE IT AS EVERY TIME THEY TREAT ME LIKE I'M MAKING THINGS UP. I WANT MY CAR IN SAFE DRIVING CONDITION. IS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK FOR!!!!IT SHOULDN'T BE BUT THAT'S HOW FOR MAKES ME FEEL..,I SHOWED VIDEOS OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS ALSO BUT I'M CRAZY

  4. Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 14, 2019

THE ENGINE STALLS WHILE DRIVING OR UPON TAKEOFF WITHOUT WARNING. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO HAPPEN.

  5. Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 14, 2019

WAS DRIVING TO WORK WHEN MY CAR CUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET.I HAD AT LEAST 20 MILES TO EMPTY AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT MY CAR SAID. I HAD IT PUSHED IT TO THE GAS STATION AND PUT 10 DOLLARS IN IT IT CRUNK UP BUT IT SAID 0 MILES TO EMPTY I PUT ANOTHER 5 TOTALING 15 BEFORE IT REGISTERED AFTER I TURNED THE CAR OFF TO SEE IF IT WOULD RESET. WHEN IT FIRST CUT OFF AND I TRIED TO PUT IT IN NEUTRAL IT WOULD NOT GO IN NEUTRAL. I TURNED IT TO ON AND PUSHED THE BRAKE AND IT WOULDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES IT HAS CUT OFF ON ME ONCE BEFORE WHILE I WAS HEADED TO THE GAS STATION AND EVEN THEN IT SAID 12 MILES TO EMPTY AND I WAS LESS THAN 2 FROM THE GAS STATION.

  6. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 10, 2019

VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGHWAY. VEHICLE STALL AFTER GAS IN PUT INTONTANK. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND PURGE VALVE OR VACUUMED LEAK NOTED. VEHICLE RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF AND OR LOSES POWER. OUR CAR WAS ALMOST HIT WHILE IT STALLED TURNING AT AN INTERSECTION. THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERS AND DOESN'T SHIFT. THE TRANSMISSION WHEN IN DRIVE GOES IN REVERSE AND WHEN IN REVERSE THE TRANSMISSION GOES IN DRIVE.

  7. Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 6, 2019

CAR STALLED ON A SUNDAY WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED AT MY OWN EXPENSE OVER 80 MILES TO MY HOME. THE NEXT DAY ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE IT TO DEALERSHIP WHEN IT STALLED AGAIN WHILE AT 40MPH. HAD SAMARITAN ASSISTANCE TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE ROAD AND HAD TO PUSH IT TO THE NEAREST LOT IN THE RAIN AS THE STREET HAD NO SHOULDER. THAT LOT HAPPENED TO HOUSE A REPAIR SHOP. REPAIR SHOP DETERMINED ISSUE WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND CALLED FORD TO CONFIRM HOWEVER FORD DENIED. WHEN I CALLED AND SPOKE TO A DIFFERENT SERVICE REP WAS TOLD THE ISSUE IS ACTUALLY UNDER RECALL (BUT ALSO WARRANTY) BUT ONLY FORD CAN PROVIDE RECALL REMEDY WITHOUT INCURRING CHARGES SO I COULD BRING IT TO FORD TO HAVE IT COMPLETED. SO I TOWED THE FOCUS TO THE DEALERSHIP AT MY OWN EXPENSE. I WAS INFORMED DIAGNOSTICS WOULD BE PERFORMED IN APPROXIMATELY 2 WEEKS. WHEN I INQUIRED ABOUT A LOANER VEHICLE WAS GIVEN 1800 NUMBER TO FORD CARE. I CALLED 3 OTHER FORD DEALERSHIPS TO ASK THEIR WAITING PERIOD FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND FOUND ONE THAT STATED BY THE END OF THE WEEK (TODAY IS TUESDAY). I ULTIMATELY HAD MY VEHICLE TOWED TO THAT LOCATION. ONCE OFF THE SHUTTLE AND BACK HOME, I CONTACTED FORD CARE AND WAS REFERRED BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING A LOANER VEHICLE AND EVEN REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE TOW CHARGES I INCURRED. I AM WITHOUT A VEHICLE UNTIL REPAIRS CAN BE COMPLETED WITH 3 TOW CHARGES ON MY BANK ACCOUNT.

  8. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 31, 2019

THE TRANSMISSION OF THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD A CONSISTENT PROBLEM OF BEING ERRATIC AND REQUIRES CONSTANT VERY PARTICULAR PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL TO AVOID SHUDDERING AND SHAKING WHEN ACCELERATING WHICH WHEN IT HAPPENS MAKES THE CAR VERY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY CONTROL IN ANY TYPE OF TRAFFIC SINCE OTHER DRIVERS DO NOT ANTICIPATE THE LURCHING AND STAGGERING FROM THE CAR UNLESS THEY HAPPEN TO NOTE THE FORD EMBLEM AND ARE AWARE OF THE SAFETY PROBLEMS FACING ALL FOCUS DRIVERS OF THE AFFECTED MODELS. I HAVE FOUND THE ISSUES MANAGEABLE BY ASSERTIVE MANIPULATION OF THE GAS PEDAL DURING ACCELERATION AND GENTLE AND GRADUAL APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES WHEN POSSIBLE TO OFFSET THE DANGEROUSLY INCONSISTENT ACCELERATION AND THE TENDENCY FOR CAR TO MISSHIFT WHEN SLOWING DOWN. I'M ABSOLUTELY APPALLED TO DISCOVER THAT THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED SITUATION BUT IS TYPICAL OF MOST IF NOT ALL 2012-2016 IT IS INCONCEIVABLE TO ME THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THIS LIFE THREATENING MALFUNCTION IN THEIR PRODUCTS AND INSTEAD OF SOLVING OR ADDRESSING IT SOLD CARS TO UNSUSPECTING PUBLIC ON THE BASIS OF THE THEIR GOOD NAME AND REPUTATION AS A QUALITY AMERICAN MANUFACTURER. I ALSO HAD TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICED AT HERTICH FORD OF MILFORD DELAWARE FOR A SEPARATE ISSUE INVOLVING FUEL SYSTEM SENSORS WHICH CAUSED THE FUEL GAGE TO BE INACCURATE AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO STALL SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO A VACUUM CREATED IN THE GAS TANK, WHICH WAS FIXED BY THE RECALL WORK BUT AGAIN CAUSED A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR MYSELF AND PASSENGERS. APPARENTLY THERE IS ANOTHER RECALL FOR THE FUEL SYSTEM ERROR WHICH I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SCHEDULE AS YET. TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN AND ANYONE READING THIS DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BUY CHEVROLET OR TOYOTA TWO BRANDS I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND. THANKS

  9. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 16, 2019

MY CAR HAS HAD TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS SINCE 20K & HAS RUN OUT OF GAS ON ME TWICE & LEFT ME STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. CLUTCH & SEVERAL SYLENOIDS HAVE BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. I HAVE REATAINED A LAWYER FOR HELP WITH MY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR.

  10. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 12, 2019

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE HESITATED WITH FORCE AND THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT SHE HAD TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE MORE THAN USUAL. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE, AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED AUFFENBERG FORD (1312 N KELLER DR, EFFINGHAM, IL 62401, (217) 342-3929) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,061.

  11. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 10, 2019

MY CAR SOMETIMES REFUSES TO ACCELERATE WHEN TAKING OFF. I RECEIVED A RECALL LETTER FROM FORD BUT THE DEALER REFUSES TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE. CLAIMS IT IS NOT INCLUDED ON THE RECALL LIST.

  12. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 10, 2019

AFTER THE ORIGINAL RECALL TO REPAIR THE STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE MY VEHICLES FUEL GAUGE IS NOT ACCURATE I RUN OUT OF GAS AT 1/4 TANK OR 135 MILES TO EMPTY. WHEN FILLING UP ON FUEL MY VEHICLE WILL NOT START PROPERLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE AFTER REFILLING THE FUEL TANK TO FULL. THIS IS NOT A ONE TIME ISSUE THIS IS A ONGOING ISSUE THAT HAPPENS MANY TIMES A MONTH. TRANSMISSION IS JERKING AND MAKES NOISE AND THE DEALER TELLS ME THIS IS NORMAL WHEN I KNOW IT IS NOT. FORD HAS TOLD THE DEALERSHIPS TO TELL OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE IT IS NORMAL SO THEY ARE FORCE TO LIE PER COMPANY INSTRUCTIONS. THIS VEHICLE AND ALL OTHER LIKE IT SHOULD BE SENT TO THE DEALERS FOR BUY BACK.

  13. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 10, 2019

AT TIMES WHEN STARTING OFF THERE IS A SEVERE HESITATION. WE HAVE TO KEEP THE FUEL TANK MORE THAN HALF FULL AT ALL TIMES. WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD BUT THEY STATED OUR VIN WASN'T LISTED ON THE RECALL SO THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT.

  14. Fuel/propulsion system, Jun 21, 2019

THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE RECALL ON THE STUCK CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV) WITHIN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM (MANUFACTURER RECALL NUMBER18S32 NHTSA RECALL NUMBER18V735). THERE IS STILL NO RESOLUTION AND MY CAR HAS STALL MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. IT IS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE AN ACCIDENT OCCURS.

NOTIFIED OF RECALL (NHTSA RECALL 18V-735) BY FORD ON DEC. 10, 2018, THAT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN FIRST QUARTER OF 2019, BUT I HAVE YET TO BE NOTIFIED THAT THE PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, AND SO I AM STILL DRIVING AN APPARENTLY DANGEROUS CAR.

  17. Power train, Fuel/propulsion system, May 30, 2019

SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2016 FORD FOCUS SE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SLIPPING, STUTTERING AND HIGH RPMS DURING GEAR CHANGES BUT WILL NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO MERGE FROM AN ON-RAMP ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY AND UPON ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE TO MERGE THE RPMS WERE VERY HIGH BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. AT THIS POINT I AM ON THE HIGHWAY WITH TRAFFIC GAINING AT AN ALARMING RATE WHICH CAUSED ANOTHER VEHICLE TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ME FROM BEHIND. THIS IS NOT MY FIRST ENCOUNTER WITH THIS ISSUE BUT THE FIRST TIME I ACTUALLY FELT I WAS IN A LIFE THREATENING SITUATION. THIS ALSO AFFECTS MY FUEL ECONOMY WHICH IS A NOMINAL ISSUE AS COMPARED TO THE FACT I NO LONGER FEEL SAFE WITH MY TWO CHILDREN IN THE VEHICLE. STEP UP FORD BEFORE THERE ARE MAJOR ACCIDENTS DUE TO THIS ISSUE.

  18. Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 21, 2019

PURCHASED VEHICLE IN AUG 2018. VEHICLE HAS STALL ON ME 4 TIMES SINCE I HAD IT ALSO, WENT TO THE FORD HOMESTEAD DEALER FOR RECALL ISSUES BUT CAR SEEM TO STILL STALL. ENDED UP TAKING THE VEHICLE ON 05/17/19 FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND DIAGNOSTIC DUE TO THE CHECK ENGINE CAME ON AND VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PEP BOYS AND WAS THERE ALL WEEKEND. NOW I THOUGHT THE REPAIR WAS FIXED AND THE WAS RETURNED TO ME ON 05/19/19 WHICH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON. SO NOW THE CARE CONTINUE TO STALL.

  21. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 19, 2019

I WAS NOTIFIED THAT MY CAR HAS BEEN RECALLED. I WAITED A FEW MONTHS FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO CALL ME TO LET ME KNOW WHEN I CAN BRING MY CAR IN. I DECIDED TO TAKE IT UPON MYSELF TO REACH OUT TO THEM AND WAS TOLD TO BRING IT IN. THAT BEING SAID, I HAD RESCHEDULED MY APPOINTMENT SEVERAL TIMES (BECAUSE LIFE HAPPENS). I REACHED OUT AGAIN TO RESCHEDULE AND DID NOT RECIEVE A RESPONSE. I REACHED OUT THE LHM CUSTOMER SERVICE, THEY SAID SOMEONE WILL BE CONTACTING ME BUT NEVER DID.
