Recalls and investigations
Seat belts, frontApr 8, 2021
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.
A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, wheel speed sensor/tone ringOct 24, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.
Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192261050.

Service brakes, hydraulic, power assist, vacuumSep 6, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.
As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192268490.

EquipmentApr 26, 2018
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, 2009 GMC Topkick 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series and Isuzu F Series, and 2009-2018 Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with certain Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. GM's number for this recall is 18146.

Air bags, frontalJul 10, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Steering, electric power assist systemJun 29, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers.
If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 10, 2017. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-432-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17276.

In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

Seat beltsApr 12, 2016
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.
If the tensioner cable separates, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15822.

The overheated exhaust components may melt nearby plastic parts and may result in an engine fire.
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC at 1-800-462-8782. General Motors' number for this recall is 14008.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH AT NIGHT TO SEE PAST 20 FEET. THE DEALER COULD NOT DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
Exterior lighting, Jan 2, 2017
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM I DOUBT IT WOULD BE ANY LESS SAFE TO DRIVE AROUND WITH THEM OFF. I JUST PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, AND MY FIRST TIME DRIVING AT NIGHT I HAD TO PARK, GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CHECK TO SEE IF THE LIGHT BULBS WERE BURNED OUT. THE BULBS WERE NOT BURNED OUT, BUT THEY ALSO DO NOT FUNCTION AS HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE THEY LITERALLY ILLUMINATE NOTHING. I CAN SEE THE SHADOW OF MY TRUCK IN FRONT OF ME IN OTHER VEHICLES HEADLIGHTS AS THEY PASS ME. IF AN OBJECT, AN ANIMAL, OR A PERSON WERE IN THE ROAD IN FRONT OF ME I DOUBT I WOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THEM BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE. I BELIEVE A SIERRA EQUIPPED WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS WILL LIKELY BE INVOLVED IN A COLLISION WITH SERIOUS INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE, OR EVEN DEATH. I CAN ONLY PRAY AND HOPE THAT I'M NOT ONE OF THEM. GM HAS RELEASED A TSB WITH AN EXPENSIVE PROCEDURE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM SIGNALING TO ME THAT THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT A PROBLEM EXIST. *TR
Exterior lighting, Dec 28, 2016
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. I CAN NOT SEE VERY FAR DOWN THE ROAD AND I CAN NOT SEE THE SHOULDERS OF THE ROADWAY. IT IS NOT VERY SAFE TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT NIGHT WITH THE FACTORY INSTALLED HEADLIGHTS.
Exterior lighting, Dec 8, 2016
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE UNSAFE FOR NIGHTTIME DRIVING ESPECIALLY IN DARKER RURAL AREAS AND IN BAD WEATHER. THE SIDE LIGHTING FROM THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NEARLY NONEXISTENT ESPECIALLY AROUND SHARP CURVES. IN ORDER TO READ SIGNS AT NIGHT I OFTEN HAVE TO USE MY HIGHBEAMS IN ORDER TO READ THEM REGARDLESS IF THERE IS TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME OR ONCOMING. I DRIVE HOME FROM WORK NIGHTLY WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON THE ENTIRE WAS UNLESS THERE IS A CAR CLOSE IN FRONT OF ME. I'VE YET TO HAVE ONCOMING TRAFFIC FLASH THEIR LIGHTS AT ME DO TO HAVING MY HIGHBEAMS ON. I HAVE MADE THE DEALERSHIP AWARE AS WELL AS CORPORATE GM . AS OF NOW THE ONLY ACTION THEY WILL TAKE IS TO REPLACE MY OLD BULBS WITH THE SAME BULBS THEY TOOK OUT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS VEHICLE BUT YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN MADE. ONLY A TSB WHICH I CAN'T EVEN GET MY DEALERSHIP TO FOLLOW. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 30, 2016
POOR LIGHTING (HEADLIGHTS), TO THE POINT WHERE IT IS UNSAFE. WORSE YET, I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE TSB WHICH GIVES A SLIGHT IMPROVEMENT, AND CANNOT GET IT DONE AT NO COST TO ME DUE TO MY WARRANTY BEING OVER BY 4,000 MILES.
Exterior lighting, Nov 29, 2016
HEADLIGHTS ARE UNSAFE FOR NIGHT DRIVING. HIGH BEAM ALSO DOES NOT HELP THE ILLUMINATION ISSUES. DRIVING IN THE RAIN AT NIGHT IS SCARY THE LIGHTS ARE DIM, AND DO NOT LIGHT UP SURROUNDING AREAS. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP, THEY KEPT IT FOR 3 MONTHS PUT NEW BULBS IN, AND I STILL WILL NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK AT NIGHT, ESPECIALLY WITH MY FAMILY WITH ME. SPENT 45K ON TRUCK AND CANT DRIVE IT AT NIGHT. I HAVE TRIED DIFFERENT BULBS, BRANDS, LOOKED FOR SOLUTIONS, AND STILL HAVE YET TO FIND ANY HELP. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 10, 2016
THESE TRUCKS HAVE THE WORST HEADLIGHTS THAT I HAVE EVER OWNED AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED.
Power train, Exterior lighting, Oct 25, 2016
HEADS LIGHTS ARE SO DIM I CANT DRIVE THE TRUCK AT NIGHT ALSO THE IS A BAD VIBRATIONS COMING FROM THE REAR END.
Exterior lighting, Oct 14, 2016
POOR HEADLIGHTS. THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 GMC SIERRA ARE TERRIBLE AT BEST. UNABLE TO SEE ANYTHING AT NIGHT
Exterior lighting, Oct 13, 2016
I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK NEW IN OCTOBER, 2014. MY RESEARCH PRIOR TO PURCHASE SHOWED A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS, BUT I DID NOT THINK THERE WERE ENOUGH COMPLAINTS FOR ME TO BE CONCERNED. I WAS WRONG. I LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DEFINITELY INADEQUATE ON THE LOW BEAM SETTING. THE MECHANICAL SHUTTER DESIGN PRODUCES A VERY SHARP BEAM CUTOFF AT ABOUT THE LEVEL OF THE HOOD, MAKING IT SEEM LIKE YOU ARE SITTING IN A DARKENED AREA ABOVE A BOWL OF LIGHT. THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS PROVIDE LITTLE, IF ANY, ILLUMINATION OF OBJECTS ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I USE THE FOG/DRIVING LIGHTS CONTINUALLY ON THE TRUCK OR I WOULD NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING IT WITH LOW BEAMS IN UNLIT AREAS. FOR THE SAKE OF COMPARISON, I HAVE ATTACHED TWO IMAGES TAKEN ON TWO CONSECUTIVE MORNINGS AT APPROXIMATELY THE SAME LOCATION ON MY DRIVEWAY. THE TRUCK PICTURE WAS TAKEN APPROXIMATELY TEN MINUTES LATER THAN THE CAR PICTURE (BOTH WERE APPROXIMATELY 6:45 A.M.). NOTE THERE IS A SLIGHT PERSPECTIVE SHIFT DUE TO THE HEIGHT DIFFERENCE IN THE VEHICLES AND THE DRIVING/FOG LIGHTS WERE NOT ON ON EITHER VEHICLE WHEN THE PICTURE WAS TAKEN. NOTE THE 25-YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY SEALED BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHOW THE FENCE POSTS AT THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WHERE THE GMC'S HEADLIGHTS SHOW A DARK VOID. IT HONESTLY FEELS LIKE YOU ARE DRIVING THROUGH A TUNNEL OF LIGHT IN THE TRUCK. YOU HAVE NO HOPE OF SEEING ANY OBJECTS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE ROAD. THERE IS A TSB ON THIS ISSUE THAT RECOMMENDS REPLACING THE BULBS AND REPROGRAMMING THE BCM. MY TRUCK HAS NOT HAD THIS PERFORMED BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT HAVE THE BULBS IN STOCK WHEN I ASKED ABOUT IT. THERE IS SOME DEBATE ON MESSAGE BOARDS REGARDING WHETHER OR NOT THE UPDATE OFFERS ANY BENEFITS. ADDITIONALLY, THE NEW BULBS ALLEGEDLY HAVE A SIGNIFICANTLY SHORTENED LIFE OVER THE ORIGINALS AND THEY CAN BE DIFFICULT TO LOCATE WHEN NEEDED.
Exterior lighting, Oct 11, 2016
HEADLIGHT PERFORMANCE DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING IS POOR AND UNSAFE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN RURAL AREAS.
Exterior lighting, Oct 4, 2016
THE BASIC DESIGN OF THE HEADLIGHTS DOES NOT ALLOW FOR A SUFFICIENT LEVEL OF LIGHTING TO SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT. THERE IS VIRTUALLY NO LATERAL LIGHTING, AND THE HEADLIGHTS DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE WAY FORWARD, THEY ONLY DROP A SHUTTER IN FRONT OF THE LIGHTS WHEN ONE SWITCHES FROM LOW BEAM TO HIGH. THERE IS NO INCREASE IN LIGHT INTENSITY OR VOLUME WHEN SWITCHING TO BRIGHT LIGHTS. RECALL AND FIX!!!!!!
Exterior lighting, Sep 21, 2016
VERY DIM HEADLIGHTS CAUSING DIFFICULTY DRIVING AT NIGHT AND IN RAINY WEATHER. 2014 GMC SIERRA WITH 13000 MILES.PURCHASED TRUCK IN MARCH OF 2015 NOTICED LIGHTING ISSUE FIRST TIME I DROVE AT NIGHT
Exterior lighting, Sep 15, 2016
THE POOR HEADLIGHTS IN THIS VEHICLE PREVENT IT FROM BEING SAFELY OPERATED AFTER DARK.
Exterior lighting, Aug 22, 2016
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TO DIM , IT IS HARD TO SEE ,THEY DO NOT PROJECT VERY FAR .THE WORST HEADLIGHTS I HAVE EVER HAD
Exterior lighting, Aug 16, 2016
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS TRUCK ARE INADEQUATE FOR DRIVING AT NIGHT. IF IT'S RAINING AT NIGHT, I WON'T DRIVE IT. I BOUGHT A NEW TRUCK FROM GMC , IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AND GMC SHOULD FIX IT !!
Exterior lighting, Visibility/wiper, Aug 3, 2016
THERE TRULY IS NO ACCIDENT AT THIS TIME. HOWEVER ... IF THIS CONDITION ISN'T CORRECTED, THERE WILL BE ACCIDENTS. THESE MAY RESULT IN NOT ONLY LOSS OF LIFE OR PROPERTY, BUT POSSIBLE CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. THE ISSUE: THE PROJECTOR HEADLAMP DESIGN OF THE 2014 GMC SIERRA IS EXTREMELY SUBPAR FOR LIGHTING THE ROADWAY AHEAD OF YOU. INDIVIDUALS, IN ORDER TO NOT "OUTDRIVE" THEIR LIGHTS, WOULD PROBABLY HAVE TO GO BELOW POSTED MINIMUM SPEED LIMITS ON HIGHWAYS, PRESENTING YET ANOTHER ISSUE FOR THE DRIVER AS WELL AS THOSE WHO WOULD APPROACH FROM THE REAR IN NIGHTTIME DRIVING CONDITIONS. I CONTACTED GMC ... AWARE OF THE ISSUE. NO HELP AT THIS TIME. I GOT THE IMPRESSION FROM THE OPERATOR THAT "NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE HAVE FILED COMPLAINTS." I'M GUESSING THAT WHEN THE CATASTROPHIC AND TRAGIC HAPPENS, IT WILL NOT MATTER THAT NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE FILED COMPLAINTS ... OFFICIALLY. SLIGHT RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET WILL SHOW MANY INDIVIDUALS COMPLAINING ABOUT THE ISSUE. BUT GMC'S ADMISSION THAT THEY ARE "AWARE" BUT ARE TAKING NO ACTION AT THIS POINT IS VERY DISTURBING. I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT DESIGN ISSUES WOULD HAVE HAD TO BE CLEARED BY AN OVERSIGHT AGENCY OF SOME SORT? I JUST DISCOVERED THE EXTREMELY SCARY FEELING OF "DRIVING IN THE DARK" ... BASICALLY ... AFTER HAVING MY TRUCK SINCE THANKSGIVING. BUT I DRIVE MOSTLY IN THE DAYLIGHT, AND HAVE BEEN ON INTERSTATE 20 IN ONE OF THE BUSIEST SECTIONS WITH TRAFFIC AT NIGHT ... NOT REALIZING HOW MUCH OTHERS' LIGHTS WERE HELPING. WHEN DRIVING ALONE ON A RURAL ROAD, HOWEVER, IT IS TANTAMOUNT TO DRIVING WITH A FLASHLIGHT WHEN IT COMES TO SAFETY. I AM WANTING TO TRUST THAT THE AGENCY TASKED WITH SAFETY WILL PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS ISSUE? BEFORE SOMEONE OR MULTIPLES LOSE THEIR LIVES AND LAWSUITS ENSUE?
Exterior lighting, Aug 2, 2016
VEHICLE HAS POOR HEADLIGHT PERFORMANCE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE PURCHASE IN 2014. REPROGRAMMING AND HEADLIGHT BULB REPLACEMENT WAS INEFFECTIVE. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN RURAL/DARK AND OR RAIN/SNOW/DARK.
Exterior lighting, Jul 27, 2016
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE HEADLIGHTS BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND PRODUCED DIM LIGHTING ON THE ROAD. THE FAILURE HINDERED THE CONTACT'S VISIBILITY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE REPAIRED, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,600.
Exterior lighting, Jul 15, 2016
HEADLIGHTS ARE TERRIBLE. IN A DARK RURAL AREA, THEY ARE SO DIM THEY ARE DANGEROUS. YOU CAN EASILY OUTDRIVE YOUR HEADLIGHTS. IN THE DARK AND RAIN, YOU SHOULD STAY HOME. IT'S SAD I CAN'T DRIVE MY $50,000 TRUCK AT NIGHT. DEALER'S "FIX" WAS WORTHLESS. SO ANGRY. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER GM VEHICLE!
Exterior lighting, Jul 8, 2016
EXTREMELY POOR/UNSAFE HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE PURCHASED NEW. "LURKING" IN FORUMS AND COMPLAINT WEB SITES ASSUMING A FIX WOULD BE FORTHCOMING. I GUESS NOT. INSUFFICIENT LIGHTING AT NIGHT IN RURAL SETTINGS WITH NO AMBIENT LIGHT. CANNOT SEE ANYWHERE NEAR THE DISTANCE REQUIRED TO DRIVE SAFELY AT POSTED LIMITS AND NON-EXISTENT SIDE LIGHTING. 2 NEAR MISSES WITH DEER GRAZING ON SIDE OF ROAD AS PROOF. I SPENT THE MONEY FOR GOOD AUXILIARY DRIVING LIGHTS AND A LIGHT BAR TO PUT THEM ON BUT ARE ONLY USEFUL WITH NO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. CURRENT REPLACEMENT BULBS/BCM REPROGRAM CAUSE LIMITED IMPROVEMENT WITH SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN BULB FAILURE FREQUENCY. 2016 REDESIGN ELIMINATED THESE LIGHTS AND RETROFIT TO 2014/15 HARDWARE IS AVAILABLE. GM SHOULD STEP UP!
Exterior lighting, Jun 17, 2016
I HAVE RETURNED MY GMC CREW CAB SIERRA 2014 TO THE DEALER 5 TIMES BECAUSE OF INADEQUATE HEADLIGHTS. THE FIRST TIME THEY SERVICE DEPT. READJUSTED THEM WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THE THIRD TIME BACK THE BULBS WERE REPLACED PER A BULLETIN AND BCM REPROGRAMMED. STILL NO IMPROVEMENT ESPECIALLY ON THE RIGHT SIDE. THE FOURTH TIME I HAD MY INTELLIGENCE INSULTED WHEN THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD ME IT WAS BECAUSE THE GARAGE DOOR HE SHONE THEM ON WAS DIRTIER ON THE RIGHT SIDE. WHAT AN EXCUSE AND ONLY A FOOL WOULD INSULT HIS OWN INTELLIGENCE WITH THAT REMARK. THE FIFTH TIME BACK THE PARTS MANAGER HAD ORDERED A NEW BULB FOR THE RIGHT SIDE AND WAS CONSEQUENTLY REPLACED A SECOND TIME. I WROTE A CERTIFIED LETTER THEN TO GM CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WAS CONTACTED BY MARK 1-866-522-0300 EXT.#5921569. HE SAID I WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND LEAVE IT SO THEY COULD DRIVE IT AT NITE. I DID THAT AND IT WAS DRIVEN BY PAUL AND UPON CONTACTING HIM THIS AM HE TOLD ME THE LOW BEAMS WERE ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE AND OVERALL THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE TRUCK WERE AS LOUSY AS ALL THE 2014 AND 15 TRUCKS ARE. UPON PICKING THE TRUCK UP THIS AFTERNOON THE SAME REDICULIS SERVICE ADVISOR (WALLY) TOLD ME THAT HE DIDN'T DRIVE IT AND PAUL DID AND TOLD HIM THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHTS. WHO IS THE LIAR? ISINCERELY BELIEVE IT IS WALLY BECAUSE HE IS BOUND AND DETERMINED NOT TO FIX IT. THE HIGH BEAMS ON THIS VEHICLE ARE WHAT THE LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND A $53000 TRUCK SHOULD HAVE SAFE HEADLIGHTS. ON LOW BEAM THERE IS A BLACK CURTAIN ONLY A FEW FEET FROM THE HOOD AND GOING DOWNHILL THAT BLACK IS ALMOST AT THE END OF THE HOOD. I HAVE OVER THE PAST 18 MONTHS TALKED TO FOUR GM REPS AT THE CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER, WITH THE THIRD ONE TELLING SHE WOULD MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO REPLACE THE LIGHT SYSTEM WITH THE 2016 SYSTEM. SHE CALLED THE DEALER SETTING IT UP AND THEN NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH.
Exterior lighting, Visibility/wiper, Jun 9, 2016
NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE DARK COUNTRYSIDE ROADS. NO SIDE VISIBILITY AT ALL. I ALMOST HIT A COW.
Exterior lighting, Jun 2, 2016
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH FOR NIGHT DRIVING ON COUNTRY ROADS WITHOUT STREET LIGHTS, ON BRIGHT OR DIM MODE. THESE ARE THE WORSE HEADLIGHTS ON ANY CAR I HAVE EVER OWNED, I PERSONALLY HAVE BOUGHT 4 BRAND NEW GMC PICKUPS, THIS IS THE WORSE. I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT TEST DRIVING AT NIGHT, I TRUSTED THEM, WRONG!
Exterior lighting, May 24, 2016
VISIBILITY FROM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY POOR AT NIGHT. VERY BAD SAFETY HAZARD IF NOT CORRECTED BY GMC!!
