Recalls and investigations
Seat belts, frontApr 8, 2021
General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.
A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, wheel speed sensor/tone ringOct 24, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.
Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192261050.

Service brakes, hydraulic, power assist, vacuumSep 6, 2019
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.
As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192268490.

EquipmentApr 26, 2018
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, 2009 GMC Topkick 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series and Isuzu F Series, and 2009-2018 Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with certain Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf
In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. GM's number for this recall is 18146.

Air bags, frontalJul 10, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. Steering, electric power assist systemJun 29, 2017
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers.
If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 10, 2017. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-432-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17276.

In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.
A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

Seat beltsApr 12, 2016
General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.
If the tensioner cable separates, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.
GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15822.

The overheated exhaust components may melt nearby plastic parts and may result in an engine fire.
General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC at 1-800-462-8782. General Motors' number for this recall is 14008.

THE HEADLIGHTS (BOTH LOW AND HIGH BEAMS) ARE INEFFECTIVE AND INADEQUATE. THE FORWARD THROW IS BAD, BUT THE PERIPHERAL THROW IS EVEN WORSE. THERE IS ESSENTIALLY NO PERIPHERAL LIGHT AND THIS MAKES FOR VERY HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS WHEN NEGOTIATING A DARK CURVE. I AM CONSTANTLY CHECKING TO SEE IF THE HEADLIGHTS ARE OPERATING - EVEN WHEN THE 'ICON' ON THE DASHBOARD SAYS THEY ARE 'ON', IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO KNOW THAT THEY ARE WORKING DUE TO THE DIM OUTPUT. I DON'T SSE ANY SIMILAR COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE HEADLUGHTS ON THE CHEVROLET SILVERADO (SAME PLATFORM AS GMC SIERRA) - SO I ASSUME THAT GM CAN 'FIX' THIS SAFETY ISSUE IF THEY WANTED TO. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 23, 2014
POOR LIGHTING WITH HEADLIGHTS. CAN BARELY SEE WHAT IS AHEAD AT NIGHT. SEEMS LIKE THIS COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS, AND I FEEL UNSAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT, ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. TURNING ON FOG LIGHTS HELPS A LITTLE, BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO CONSTANTLY RUN THEM. BRIGHT LIGHTS DON'T HELP MUCH EITHER. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 21, 2014
HEADLIGHTS ON 2014 SIERRA 1500 ARE HORRIBLE. DO NOT PROJECT VERY FAR DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BRIGHTS DO NOT DO ANYTHING BUT LIGHT UP THE TOPS OF TREES. AT DUSK, DAWN, OR WHEN RAINING IS PARTICULARLY BAD. ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION DRIVING IN SMALL TOWNS OR IN TRAFFIC I THOUGHT THE LIGHTS WERE ACTUALLY OFF THEY ARE SO DIM. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER SHORTLY AFTER I GOT THE TRUCK IN SEPTEMBER OF 2013 AND THEY SAID THEY ADJUSTED THEM BUT IT DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. I HAVE CONTINUED TO HAVE PROBLEMS AND IT SEEMS LIKE THEY ARE GETTING EVEN DIMMER NOW. VERY DISAPPOINTED...SOMEONE IS GOING TO HAVE A WRECK ONE OF THESE DAYS BECAUSE OF THESE AS YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT IS IN THE ROAD 100 FEET AHEAD. AT 55 MPH THAT COULD BE A DEATH SENTENCE. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 21, 2014
BOUGHT VEHICLE NEW IN MARCH '14, HEADLIGHTS ARE HID UNITS, AND ARE WORSE THAN POOR. VERY EASY TO OVERDRIVE THESE LIGHTS HERE ON DARK, TWISTY MOUNTAIN ROADS IN WV. WE HAVE THE HIGHEST RATE OF VEHICLE- DEER COLLISIONS IN THE US AND SEEING DEER WITH THESE LIGHTS IN TIME TO AVOID A COLLISION IS CHANCY. TRADED A 10 YEAR OLD SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND NEVER HAD THESE PROBLEMS. THESE LIGHTS NEED TO BE CORRECTED BEFORE FOLKS ARE KILLED AS A RESULT. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 7, 2014
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 ARE VERY VERY DIM. BOTH LOW BEAM AND HIGH BEAM MAKE IT VERY DIFFIUCULT TO SEE VERY FAR IN FRONT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING GM TRUCKS FOR OVER 50 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED LIGHTING SO TERRIBLE. WITH THE DEER IN PENNA. MOVING AT NIGHT THIS TIME OF YEAR I AM AT TIMES RELUCTANT TO GO OVER 35MPH. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT GM HAS NOT MADE SOME KIND OF CHANGE TO THEIR HEADLIGHT SYSTEM NOTING THE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS. I DID TEST DRIVE THE TRUCK BUT OF COURSE NOT AT NIGHT, IT CERTAINLY WOULD HAVE BEEN A DEAL BREAKER KNOWING WHAT I KNOW NOW. THAT IS HOW BAD THEY ARE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PRODUCT AND EMPLORE THE NHTSA TO FORCE A RECALL OF THIS VEHICLE. I HAVE LOOKED INTO REPLACEMENT BULBS WITH MUCH HIGHER INTENSITY. NOTHING IS AVAILABLE OTHER THAN THE STANDARD. PLEASE TAKE ACTION! *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 6, 2014
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE NEW 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 ARE INCREDIBLY DIM. THEY DO NOT ILLUMINATE THE ROAD SUFFICIENTLY AND ARE DANGEROUS. RURAL ROADS ARE PRACTICALLY A NO-GO AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING IN DISTANCE OR ON THE SIDES OF THE ROAD. MAKING TURNS AT NIGHT ARE INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS. I FEEL THE NEED TO SWAP TO A BETTER LIGHT BUT THERE ARE NO OPTIONS THAT WON'T VOID MY WARRANTY BY GOING AFTERMARKET. THIS IS A SERIOUS CONCERN FOR ME. HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN ADJUSTED MULTIPLE TIMES WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. NOTHING THAT DEALERSHIP CAN DO SINCE THERE ARE NO ALTERNATE LIGHTS OTHER THAN AFTERMARKET. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 6, 2014
THESE HEAD LIGHTS ARE SO BAD YOU CAN ONLY SEE 50 FEET IN FRONT OF YOU ON LOW BEAM AT BEST AND ON HIGH BEAM THE LIGHTS SEEM TO SHINE ARE IN THE TREES. I AM SO SORRY I DID NOT TEST DRIVE AT NIGHT. PLEASE HELP FIX THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT.MY 2011 SIERRA WAS 100 % BETTER. *TR
Exterior lighting, Visibility/wiper, Nov 6, 2014
THIS VEHICLE HAS THE WORST HEADLIGHTS OF ANY NEW VEHICLE I'VE EVER OWNED. IT SEEMS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AND I AVOID IT WHERE I CAN. THE BEAM PATTERN IS AWFUL AND THE ILLUMINATION IS POOR. I'VE BEEN DRIVING CARS WITH PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS FOR YEARS, SO I KNOW THAT IS NOT THE REAL ISSUE. THESE LIGHTS ARE JUST POORLY DESIGNED OR CHEAP. TRIPS TO THE DEALER ARE UNFRUITFUL. THE DEALER KNOWS THEY ARE POOR, BUT CAN DO NOTHING EXCEPT BE SURE EVERYTHING IS PROPERLY ADJUSTED. IF YOU ARE LOOKING AT BUYING A 2014 GMC PICKUP, BUY SOMETHING ELSE. THEY ARE THAT BAD. I JUST KNOW I'M GOING TO HIT A DEER SOON ENOUGH. *TR
Exterior lighting, Nov 3, 2014
HEADLIGHTS IN NORMAL OPERATION SITUATION ARE WOEFULLY SHORT OF ILLUMINATION DISTANCE AND EASY TO OVERDRIVE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. HIGH BEAMS AND FOG LIGHTS ARE MORE ADEQUATE, HOWEVER HIGH BEAMS CANNOT BE USED IN TRAFFIC AND FOG LIGHTS TEND TO IRRITATE ONCOMING DRIVERS ON HIGHWAYS IN SMALLER VEHICLES. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 31, 2014
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500, THAT I BOUGHT LAST WEEK, ARE EXTREMELY WEAK. THEY HAVE NO PROJECTION TO THE SIDES OF THE ROAD AND ONLY PROJECT FORWARD MAYBE 30 FT. AT 55 MPH AT NIGHT IS ASKING FOR AN ACCIDENT TO HAPPEN. I HAVEN'T DRIVEN IT IN RAIN OR SNOW YET AND NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT. GM NEEDS A RECALL BEFORE WINTER SETS IN. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 18, 2014
I WOULD LIKE TO ALERT GM THAT THE ILLUMINATION FROM THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 SLT IS IN MY OPINION, INSUFFICIENT AND DANGEROUS. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS SINCE PURCHASING MY VEHICLE IN SEPTEMBER 2014, I HAVE HAD TO DOUBLE CHECK TO SEE IF MY HEADLIGHTS WERE ON WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE PATTERN OF ILLUMINATION EMITTED FROM THE HEADLIGHTS DOES NOT PROVIDE THE VEHICLE OPERATOR WITH AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF LIGHTING, ESPECIALLY ON THE SIDES OF THE ROAD TO PREVENT POTENTIAL COLLISIONS WITH BICYCLISTS AND WALKING PEDESTRIANS. I HAPPEN TO LIVE IN A SOMEWHAT RURAL AREA, THAT REQUIRES DRIVING ON ROADS AND HIGHWAYS THAT DO NOT HAVE ADEQUATE STREET LIGHTING AND IN SOME AREAS NO STREET LIGHTS AT ALL. THIS PROBLEM OF POOR QUALITY HEADLIGHTS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN MY OPINION. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 17, 2014
IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I DROVE THIS NEW GMC AT NIGHT AND I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING ALMOST HIT A HUGE MOOSE CAUSE I DIDN'T SEE IT. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE AWFUL AND ITS TERRIFYING TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. WENT TO DEALER AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE HEADLIGHTS THEY SAID THEY HAD NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS BUT GM HAS NO FIX. THESE HEADLIGHTS ARE GOING TO CAUSE MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS SIMPLY DRIVING 45 MPH FEELS LIKE YOU CAN OUT RUN THE HEADLIGHTS IN HIGH BEAM. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 16, 2014
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO GOOD, THEY HELPED TO SAVE THE LIFE OF SEVERAL DEER WHICH I COULD CLEARLY SEE UP AHEAD, JUST ABOVE THE CREST OF THE ROAD. THE DEER STARTED TO DASH ACROSS THE ROAD, WHICH WAS NOT LIT, AND I COULD CLEARLY SEE THEM AND PROPERLY STEERED CLEAR OF THE DEER. THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS TRUCK ARE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD !! I FIND THE 2014 GMC SIERRA AS THE MOST WELL EQUIPPED VEHICLE I HAVE EVER DRIVEN. MY COMPLAINT IS NOT REALLY ABOUT THE LIGHTS OR HOW WELL I COULD SEE THE DEER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, IT'S ABOUT THE NEED FOR OTHER BRANDS OF VEHICLES THAT ARE NOT EQUIPPED WITH THESE TYPE OF HEADLIGHTS. I BELIEVE THIS TYPE OF HEADLIGHT SYSTEM SHOULD BE MANDATORY ON ALL VEHICLES OF ALL MAKES. GMC HAS DONE THE WORLD A FAVOR. NOW IT IS UP TO THE REST TO CATCH UP AND USE THIS TECHNOLOGY! *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 15, 2014
AFTER PURCHASING OUR NEW TRUCK, WE DROVE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME AFTER DARK ON OUR RURAL COUNTRY ROADS. WHEN ENGAGING THE DIM LIGHTS YOU CAN NOT SEE MORE THAN 20 TO 30 YARDS IN FRONT OF YOUR VEHICLE. MY HUSBAND HAS DONE EXTENSIVE RESEARCH ON THIS PROBLEM SINCE WE DISCOVERED IT AND FOUND HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS. WHEN ENGAGING THE BRIGHT LIGHTS THEY APPEAR TO SHINE THE DISTANCE THAT THE DIM LIGHTS SHOULD. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS A SERIOUS ENGINEERING FLAW IN THE GM LIGHTING SYSTEM ON THEIR GMC TRUCKS. HE HAS DISCOVERED THAT THEY HAVE INSTALLED A PROJECTOR LIGHT WITH A CURTAIN OR SHUTTER IN THIS LIGHTING SYSTEM. WE HAVE HAD THEM ADJUSTED ONCE BY THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY MADE IT WORSE NOT BETTER. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT UNTIL GM IS MADE TO CHANGE THE LIGHTING SYSTEM AND REMOVE THIS CURTAIN/SHUTTER SYSTEM THAT WE ARE STUCK WITH THIS. OUR ONLY ALTERNATIVE SEEMS TO BE TO DRIVE WITH OUR BRIGHT LIGHTS ON AT ALL TIMES AFTER DARK IN RURAL AREAS. WE FEEL THAT THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND AT SOME POINT IN TIME THERE IS GOING TO BE A SERIOUS IF NOT FATAL ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. WE ARE HOPING THAT YOU WILL INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER AND TAKE ACTION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 13, 2014
VEHICLE HAS VERY POOR HEADLIGHTS, MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM, AND DO NOT PROVIDE ILLUMINATION ON SHOULDERS OF ROADWAY. PROBABLY THE WORST HEADLIGHTS I HAVE SEEN IN OVER 20 YEARS. DEALER SAYS NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO CORRECT PROBLEM. SOMEONE NEEDS TO STEP IN AND FORCE GM TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
Exterior lighting, Oct 10, 2014
THE HEADLIGHT OUTPUT ON MY NEW 2014 GMC SIERRA IS SO BAD THAT I CANNOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE SAFELY AT NIGHT. IN FACT, I ONLY DRIVE IT UNLESS IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. NOT ONLY ARE THE LIGHTS VERY DIM BUT THE SHAPE OF THE BEAM IS ALSO VERY POOR AND AWKWARD . WITH THE CURRENT OEM HEADLIGHT EQUIPMENT, THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO OPERATE AT NIGHT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT . I CAN'T EVEN FIND A BETTER BULB BECAUSE GM HAS THE PATENT AND NOT EVEN PIAA CAN MAKE A BETTER BULB. *TR
Exterior lighting, Sep 24, 2014
2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 Z-71 PROJECTION HEADLIGHTS ARE WITH OUT A DOUBT A SAFETY HAZARD. NOT ONLY ARE THEY DIM BUT THEY DO NOT "PROJECT" FAR ENOUGH DOWN THE ROAD IN EITHER THE LOW OR HIGH BEAM MODES. UNSAFE BECAUSE ONE OVER DRIVES THE BEAM PROJECTED. UNSAFE BECAUSE ONE CANNOT SEE OFF TO THE SIDES WHERE DEER AND OTHER ANIMALS APPROACH SOMETIMES AT HIGH SPEEDS. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT GENERAL MOTORS WILL HAVE TO CHANGE OUT THESE HEADLIGHTS EITHER SOONER OR LATER UNDER A RECALL. *TR
Exterior lighting, Sep 8, 2014
WHILE DRIVING FROM ALABAMA TO PENNSYLVANIA IN MY NEW GMC I HAD TO SLOW DOWN TO 15 MPH UNDER THE POSTED LIMIT DUE TO POOR ILLUMINATION OF THE ROAD. THE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHINE NO WHERE ON THE ROAD. I ONCE ALMOST MISSED A TURN ON A ROAD I DRIVE DAILY, ON ANOTHER OCCASION I BARELY AVOIDED HITTING TWO DEER ASIDE THE ROAD BECAUSE THE LIGHTS BROADCAST CENTER OF ROAD AND DO NOT SHINE AT ALL LEFT OR RIGHT. TWO TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP HAVE PROVED USELESS, FIRST TRIP THEY WERE WILLING TO ADJUST LIGHTS, SECOND TRIP I WAS TOLD THERE IS NO FURTHER ADJUSTMENT POSSIBLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A NEW VEHICLE THAT COST $45,000. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 720.

FROM DAY ONE THE HEADLIGHTS ON OUR 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 VEHICLE ARE USELESS. THE DO NOT LIGHT UP AT ALL AND IS A VERY BAD SAFETY HAZARD FOR ALL. WE CAN DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD ON HIGH BEAM AND NO ONE WILL FLASH US AT ALL. WE HAVE NOTIFIED THE DEALER AND GMC AND SEEM TO GET NO WHERE. THEY SAID THERE HAS BEEN A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR BAD VISABILITY WITH THE NEW SHUTTER HEADLIGHTS BUT GMC SAYS THEY LOOK PRETTY. WELL PRETTY DOES NOT HELP BEING ABLE TO SEE. I HAVE READ PAGES OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT HOW ANYONE THAT PURCHASED A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500 CANNOT SEE AT NIGHT WHILE DRIVING AND AGAIN THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD. THE 2014 GMC SIERRS 3500 HAS THE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS, WHY CANT THE 1500 HAVE THESE?? WE PAID $43,000 FOR THIS PICKUP AND CANT DRIVE IT AT NIGHT FOR THE FEAR OF HITTING ANIMALS, PEOPLE WALKING ETC. GMC SAYS OH WELL YOU BOUGHT IT YOUR FAULT, BUT WHO TAKES A TRIAL RIDE AT NIGHT?? IF WE COULD WE WOULD TRADE VEHICLE IN FOR A CHEVY, THEIR 2014 HAS REGULAR HEADLIGHTS. AGAIN I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT IS HAVING HEADLIGHT PROBLEMS PLEASE SEARCH FOR COMPLAINTS ON THIS MATTER AND YOU WELL SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING AND GMC IS NOT TAKING THIS SERIOUS AT ALL!! IF WE CRASH AT NIGHT DUE TO OUR LIGHTS, WHICH WHERE WE LIVE IN NORTHERN MAINE, WE WILL DEFINITELY BE PUTTING SOME LAWYERS IN ON THIS MATTER AND GOING AFTER SOMEONE FOR NOT ADDRESSING THIS SAFETY HAZARD. *TR
