Recalls and investigations

  1. Seat belts, frontApr 8, 2021

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014-2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 2015-2016 Chevrolet Tahoe, and 2014-2015 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles that may have received an incorrect replacement tensioner cable assembly as part of a previous recall remedy or a subsequent repair. The flexible steel cable connecting the driver's seat belt to the outboard side of the seat may be repeatedly bent over the seat side shield as the driver enters and exits the vehicle causing the cable to fatigue and separate.

A broken pretensioner cable reduces the effectiveness of the driver's seat belt, increasing the risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver seat belt lap pretensioner, free of charge. The recall began on May 5, 2021. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, and GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N212330040.

  2. Service brakes, hydraulic, antilock/traction control/electronic limited slip, wheel speed sensor/tone ringOct 24, 2019

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, and GMC Yukon, and 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the Electronic-Brake Control Module (EBCM) software may activate the driveline-protection system.

Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the EBCM, free of charge. The recall began December 11, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192261050.

  3. Service brakes, hydraulic, power assist, vacuumSep 6, 2019

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, 2014-2018 Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, 2015-2018 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Yukon vehicles. The amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time.

As the vacuum level drops, the brake assist decreases, increasing braking effort, extending the distance required to stop the vehicle, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the Electronic Brake Control Module, free of charge. The recall began October 8, 2019. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-630-2438, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is N192268490.

  4. EquipmentApr 26, 2018

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD, 2009 GMC Topkick 5000, 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series and Isuzu F Series, and 2009-2018 Chevrolet Express, and GMC Savana vehicles, equipped with certain Plastic-Handle Fire Extinguishers or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. For a full list of the affected fire extinguisher models visit: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17E062-5427.pdf

In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, instructing them to contact Kidde to get a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began June 11, 2018. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782, and Isuzu customer service at 1-866-441-9638. GM's number for this recall is 18146.

  5. Air bags, frontalJul 10, 2017

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse and Chevrolet Spark EV, Caprice PPV and SS vehicles, 2014-2017 Buick Encore and Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, 2015-2016 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Tahoe, Trax, Suburban and Silverado 2500 and 3500 and GMC Yukon and Yukon XL vehicles, and 2015-2017 GMC Sierra HD 2500 and 3500 vehicles. While being previously remedied for recall 16V-651, the affected vehicles may not have received the complete software update necessary to remedy the recall condition. Without the update, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test. During this test, deployment of the frontal air bags and the seat belt pretensioners would not occur in the event of a crash.

A failure of the front air bags or seat belt pretensioners to deploy in the event of a crash necessitating deployment increases the risk of injury to the driver and front passenger.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will reflash the SDM software. Vehicles that have had a previous air bag deployment will have the SDM replaced. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall began on August 4, 2017. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17287.

  6. Steering, electric power assist systemJun 29, 2017

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles. The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers.

If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will update the EPS module software, free of charge. The recall began on August 10, 2017. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-432-8782. GM's number for this recall is 17276.

  7. Air bags, frontalSep 8, 2016

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2015-2017 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, 3500 HD, Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Sierra 2500 HD and 3500 HD, GMC Yukon, GMC Yukon XL, Cadillac Escalade and Cadillac Escalade ESV vehicles and 2014-2017 Chevrolet Corvette, Silverado 1500, Trax, Caprice Police Pursuit Vehicle, GMC Sierra 1500, Buick Encore, and 2014-2016 Buick Lacrosse, Chevrolet Spark EV and SS vehicles. In the affected vehicles, certain driving conditions may cause the air bag sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) software to activate a diagnostic test.

The recall began on October 13, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006, Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. 8. Seat beltsApr 12, 2016

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks manufactured January 29, 2013, to January 21, 2015. While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.

If the tensioner cable separates, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged. Any tensioner that has already been damaged will be replaced, free of charge. The recall began on August 11, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020 or GMC customer service at 1-800-462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 15822.

The overheated exhaust components may melt nearby plastic parts and may result in an engine fire.

General Motors will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the engine control module, free of charge. The recall began on January 16, 2014. Owners may contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 and GMC at 1-800-462-8782. General Motors' number for this recall is 14008.

WHILE SLOWING DOWN AT TRAFFIC TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS SUPER HEAVY AND KEPT GOING, BRAKE PEDAL GOT HARD AND COULD NOT PRESS DOWN. AC WENT OUT ON ME TWICE DO TO BAD COMPRESSOR AND HAD TO REPAIR AT DEALER. TRANSMISSION KNOCKS WHEN SLOWING DOWN AND HARD SHIFTS LIKE ITS GOING TO BREAK. ALSO VISIBILITY IS POOR ON VEHICLE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT AS THE LIGHT ARE VERY DIM. HAD TO BUY ALTERNATE LIGHTS BUT STILL DIM.

  2. Service brakes, Jan 8, 2019, crash

WHILE BACKING UP INTO PARKING SPACE, TRUCK FELT LIKE IT WAS PUSHING SOMETHING. BRAKE PEDDLE BECAME HARD AND WHEN NOT STOP TRUCK, CAUSING VEHICLE TO HIT POLE AND DAMAGE BOTH THE TRUCK AND THE POLE.

  3. Service brakes, Jan 7, 2019, crash

DRIVING AT LOW SPEED IN TRAFFIC ON A HIGHWAY, BRAKES FAILED THEN LOCKED-UP CAUSING TRUCK TO SKID AND HIT THE CAR IN FRONT.

  4. Service brakes, Jan 3, 2019

AT SLOW SPEED BACKING INTO A PARKING SPOT THE BREAK PEDAL TURNED REALLY HARD TO PRESS TO STOP THE TRUCK, IT TOOK A LOT OF FORCE TO STOP IT; SHIFTED THE TRUCK INTO NEUTRAL TO PREVENT HITTING A POLE, SHIFTED THE TRUCK BACK TO DRIVE THE TRUCK WAS STILL SHOWING THE SAME PROBLEM THE VEHICLE BRAKE SYSTEM WAS USELESS (UNSAFE) SHIFTED BACK INTO NEUTRAL AS PEDESTRIANS WERE WALKING BY AND USED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE TRUCK! PLEASE INVESTIGATE INTO THIS ISSUE THE TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 50K MILES AND ALL SERVICE IS DONE AT THE DEALERSHIP - AFTER TALKING TO THEM TODAY THEY SAID THE TRUCK IS OUT OF WARRANTY THE POTENTIAL COST TO REPAIR WILL BE $2000

  5. Service brakes, Jan 2, 2019

NO WARNING OF BRAKE FAILURE ESPECIALLY WHEN BACKING DOWN A HILL AT LOW R.P.M WITH A BOAT TRAILER. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED A.S.A.P. NO WARNING LIGHTS WERE DISPLAYED AND NO ISSUES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. I'M JUST GLAD IT WAS ME AND NOT SOMEONE ELSE ( WIFE ) BACKING US IN THE WATER. PLEASE ADDRESS THIS AS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE. SOMEONE COULD HAVE LOST THEIR LIFE

  6. Service brakes, Jan 2, 2019

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICED MY BRAKE PEDDLE BECAME HARD. I WAS IN MILD TRAFFIC SO I WAS ONLY TRAVELING AROUND 40 MILES MPH ON I 287 I WAS NOT ABLE TO STOP QUICKLY. I DID NOT GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO MY DEALER FOR REPAIR. I WAS TOLD THAT THE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND PARTS OF THE PUMP WERE ALSO SUCKED INTO THE ENGINE. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I WOULD NEED TO HAVE THE OIL PAN REMOVED TO REMOVE ANY DEBRIS WHICH WOULD COST AROUND $1100. AT THIS TIME I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE TRUCK BACK OR REPAIR INVOICE. I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHING AND DID SEE THAT THERE HAVE BEEN ISSUES WITH THE VACUUM PUMPS ON OTHER GMC PICKUPS. FORTUNATELY I WAS NOT DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED AT THE TIME OF THE ISSUE.

  7. Vehicle speed control, Electronic stability control (ESC), Service brakes, Jan 2, 2019

WE HAD THE VEHICLE RECALL NOTICE ABOUT THE STABILITY AND POWER ASSIST REPAIRED AT OUR PREFERRED GM DEALERSHIP, JAMES WOOD, BEFORE THE PROBLEM OCCURRED BECAUSE OF A RECALL NOTICE WE RECEIVED LAST YEAR. SUNDAY, JANUARY 30, 2018 THE DASH DISPLAYED POWER ASSIST LIMITED AND ALSO DISPLAYED ABS LIGHT . SERVICE ENGINE SOON, SO WE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN. THIS TIME THE VEHICLE WAS REVVING HIGH BUT NO DISPLAY. THE DEALERSHIP OBSERVED THE VEHICLE DOING THIS BUT WE WERE TOLD THE RECALL HAD ALREADY BEEN PERFORMED. THERE IS A REVISED PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL REFERENCE NUMBER N172085440. I'M ALERTING THE NHTSA OF THIS.

  8. Service brakes, Dec 30, 2018

LOST NORMAL BRAKING GOING DOWN A STEEP HILL AT 25 MPH , HAD TO USE BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE PEDAL JUST TO STOP.

  9. Service brakes, Dec 21, 2018

WHILE IN MOTION, APPLIED BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT STOPPING. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID AND IT WAS NEAR EMPTY. ONLY 50,000MILES.

  10. Service brakes, Dec 18, 2018

AT SLOW SPEEDS THE BRAKE PEDAL BECOMES " FLAT" THAT IS TO SAY THERE IS NO TRAVEL OR GIVE IN IT AND YOU MUST APPLY 110% FORCE TO GET THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I ALMOST DROVE THRU THE GARAGE DOOR AT THE LOCAL JIFFY LUBE DEALER. HAD THE LOCAL GMC DEALER LOOK AT IT & HE COULD NOT FIND A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.

  11. Service brakes, Dec 17, 2018

MY BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD WITH NO BRAKES IF I HAPPEN TO BE IN A SITUATION WHERE I APPLY THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES QUICKLY, SUCH AS AT THE CARWASH OR IN A PARKING LOT. THE ABS WAS NOT FIRING AT THE TIME. I WAS NOT TURNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED A NUMBER OF TIMES IN THE PAST 2 YEARS.

  12. Service brakes, Dec 14, 2018

LOSS OF BRAKING AT LOW SPEED WHILE IN REVERSE. OCCURRED ON AT LEAST TWO OCCASIONS JUST PAST EXPIRATION OF BUMPER TO BUMPER PORTION OF VEHICLE WARRANTY (SEE ATTACHED COMPLAINT LETTER TO GM FOR DETAILS). DEALER STATED VACUUM BOOSTER WAS DEFECTIVE AND REPAIR COSTS EXCEEDED $400.00. GM HOME OFFICE WAS NOTIFIED VIZ FEDEX LETTER. OTHER THAN CONTACTING ME FOR BASIC INFORMATION, NO FURTHER CONTACT WAS INITIATED BY GM OR DELIVERING DEALER. ALLEGED DEFECTIVE PART IS IN OWNER POSSESSION WHICH GM WAS NOTIFIED OF AS WELL.

  13. Service brakes, Dec 11, 2018

MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN!: HARD BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS, INTERMITTENT STIFF BRAKES IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. 2014 GMC SIERRA SLT CREW CAB 4WD, 40K MILES. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS ISSUE THAT COULD RESULT IN A COLLISION, DAMAGE AND/OR INJURY. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE PURCHASING THIS TRUCK FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER IN 2017. IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN PARKING, MOVING TRAILERS, AN MANEUVERING AT LOW VEHICLE SPEEDS. THE BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY BECOMES STIFF WHEN DEPRESSING AND HAS LIMITED OR NO BRAKING ACTION UNLESS APPLYING EXTREME AMOUNTS OF PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE DRIVEN VEHICLES WITHOUT POWER BRAKES AND THIS IS NOT THE SAME. IT IS AS IF THE BRAKING SYSTEM IS WORKING AGAINST THE INPUT OF THE PEDAL IN ADDITION TO THE LOSS OF POWER BRAKE ACTION. THE MOST CONCERNING EVENT WAS EXPERIENCED WHILE BACKING A BOAT TRAILER INTO THE WATER WITH TWO CHILDREN IN THE BACK SEAT, BUCKLED IN CHILD RESTRAINING CAR SEATS AND PUSHING WITH BOTH FEET USING ALL MY STRENGTH TO BARELY STOP THE TRUCK AND TRAILER FROM ROLLING ALL THE WAY INTO THE WATER. THIS WAS A TRUE NIGHTMARE, AND IS THE REASON I AM SUBMITTING THIS SAFETY COMPLAINT. HAD MY WIFE BEEN OPERATING THE TRUCK OR A PERSON WITH WEAKER LEGS IN THE SAME SITUATION, THE ISSUE COULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY TRAGIC. I CANNOT SAFELY OPERATE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED. I AM TRULY DISAPPOINTED THAT THIS HASN'T BEEN TURNED INTO A RECALL BASED ON THE MULTITUDE OF COMPLAINTS ON THIS VERY SAME ISSUE. HOW MANY CLOSE-CALLS OR NEAR-MISSES DOES IT TAKE BEFORE NHTSA AND A WORLD-CLASS VEHICLE MANUFACTURER CONTAIN A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE? I HOPE THIS ISSUE GETS THE PROPER ATTENTION AND A RECALL IS MANDATED SWIFTLY, BEFORE MORE PEOPLE GET HURT OR WORSE.

  14. Service brakes, Dec 3, 2018

INTERMITTENT EXTREME LOSS OF BRAKING POWER - IN FORWARD AND REVERSE. SOMETIMES AND UNEXPECTEDLY CANNOT STOP QUICKLY EVEN WHEN BRAKE PEDAL PUSHED TO THE FLOOR.

  15. Service brakes, Nov 28, 2018

WHEN APPLYING BRAKES AT LOW SPEED LIKE PULLING OUT OF DRIVEWAY OR AWAY FROM A GAS PUMP. IF THE BRAKES ARE PUMPED OR PRESSED HARD THE BRAKE PEDAL GIVES STRONG RESISTANCE AND THE TRUCK WILL NOT STOP. IN ORDER TO STOP THE TRUCK THE EMERGENCY BRAKE NEEDS TO BE APPLIED. THE PROBLEM IS WORSENED IF ON A DOWNWARD INCLINE WHEN TAKING THE TRUCK OUT OF THE PARK POSITION AND MOVING INTO DRIVE WHILE HOLDING FOOT ON THE BRAKE.

  16. Service brakes, Nov 27, 2018

FIRST NOTICED AT ABOUT 65000 MILES. WHEN BRAKING IN STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC OR IN REVERSE (ESPECIALLY DOWN AN INCLINE SUCH AS A BOAT RAMP), THE BRAKES CAN BECOME VERY HARD TO PRESS AND NON-RESPONSIVE. THIS RESULTS IN LONG STOPPING DISTANCES. HAD THE TRUCK INSPECTED BY DEALER AND THEY SUGGESTED VACUUM PUMP. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, THERE APPEARS TO BE A GENERAL ISSUE WITH THE VACUUM PUMPS THAT GM WILL REPLACE UNDER WARRANTY, BUT HAS NOT RECALLED....

  17. Service brakes, Nov 27, 2018

WHEN BACKING DOWN A STEEP HILL OR BACK A BOAT DOWN THE BOAT RAMP, THE BRAKE PEDAL GET HARD AND THE TRUCK DOESN'T WANT TO STOP. DRIVING ON A FLAT SURFACE I HAVEN'T HAD AN ISSUE BUT IT IS VERY SCARY BACKING THE BOAT INTO THE WATER FEELING THE BRAKES AREN'T DOING ITS JOB.

  18. Service brakes, Nov 26, 2018

WITHIN ABOUT 15 MONTHS OF OWNERSHIP MY VACUUM PUMP ON THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED, WHILE I WAS TOWING A PONTOON BOAT. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WAS VERY SCARED THAT I WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO STOP BUT EVENTUALLY I SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH TO PULL INTO A GAS STATION IN WARSAW, IN. LUCKILY WHEN THIS HAPPENED THERE WERE VERY FEW OTHER VEHICLES OUT ON THE ROAD OTHERWISE THIS STORY MAY HAVE A DIFFERENT ENDING. THIS HAPPENED ON HIGHWAY 15 IN MILFORD, IN.

  19. Service brakes, Nov 24, 2018

THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN THE LAST WEEK. BOTH TIMES IN NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS AND GOOD WEATHER CONDITIONS. WHILE PULLING IN MY DRIVEWAY AT LOW SPEED WHEN I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WAS HARD AND WOULD BARELY DEPRESS. THERE WAS NO POWER ASSISTED BRAKING AND IT TOOK ME PRESSING AS HARD AS POSSIBLE WITH BOTH FEET TO GET MY TRUCK STOPPED BEFORE I HIT MY GARAGE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN WHEN I WAS TRAILERING MY 1500 LB FISHING BOAT. I WAS BACKING IT DOWN THE RAMP AND BRAKES FAILED AGAIN. I HAD TO AGAIN PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS POSSIBLE AND USE EMERGENCY BRAKES TO STOP. THERE WAS A NOTICEABLE GRINDING SOUND IN THE BRAKES WHILE TRYING TO STOP. AGAIN AS IF THERE WERE NO POWER BRAKES. BOTH INSTANCES OCCURRED WHILE GOING 2 TO 3 MPH BUT IF IT HAPPENED IN AN AREA WITH PEDESTRIANS OR AT HIGHER SPEEDS IT COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INJURIES. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS AND FORCE GM TO TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION ASAP.

  20. Service brakes, Nov 24, 2018

WHEN BRAKES WERE APPLIED THE TRUCK WOULD NOT STOP, TRUCK WAS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY BY WEEKS, INDEPENDENT SHOP REPLACED THE VACUUM AIR PUMP FOR THE BRAKE SYSTEM. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS MOVING VERY SLOW ,IN A PARKING LOT, NO ONE WAS HURT AND NO DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK.

  21. Service brakes, Nov 23, 2018

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 GMC SIERRA 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE BRAKES FAILED TO STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE DEPRESSED WITH FORCE TO OPERATE CORRECTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HENSON CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (201 N MAY ST, MADISONVILLE, TX 77864, (866) 551-9977) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. *TT CONSUMER STATED BRAKING FAILURE HAPPENED ON THE RESIDENCE DRIVEWAY. *JB

  22. Service brakes, Nov 23, 2018

I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH MY BRAKES FOR THE LAST 3 YEARS. I ALREADY HAD BY BRAKES FIXED MY GM BECAUSE OF A BAD SQUEAK WHEN PRESSING ON MY BRAKES. I RECENTLY JUST CHANGED MY MASTER CYLINDER BECAUSE THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD GET STUCK ON CERTAIN OCCASIONS WHEN DRIVING. SOMETIMES HAVING ME TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. SOMETIMES I WOULD HAVE THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE TRUCK WOULD STILL KEEP MOVING. IT WOULD HAPPEN SPORADICALLY. MOST OF THE TIME WHEN I AM DRIVING IN TRAFFIC OR THROUGH A PARKING LOT.

  23. Service brakes, Nov 4, 2018

WHEN BRAKING AT SLOW SPEEDS, LIKE WHEN IDLING IN TRAFFIC OR ROLLING THROUGH A PARKING LOT, WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL IS DEPRESSED IT IS VERY HARD, LIKE WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH THE VEHICLES ENGINE OFF. AT TIMES I HAVE HAD TO USED BOTH FEET TO PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL THE TRY AND STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS ALSO VERY HARD TO STOP WHEN THIS ISSUE OCCURS.

  24. Service brakes, Sep 27, 2018

WHILE DRIVING MY TRUCK AT SLOW SPEEDS AND APPLYING BRAKES, THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL GET HARD AND UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE. IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE BACKING A TRAILER TOWN HILL TOWARDS A LAKE AND I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE TRUCK ONLY ABLE TO HAVE FRIEND BLOCK THE TIRE SO I COULD PUT IN DRIVE. IT HAS OCCURRED WHILE APPROACHING STOP SIGNS AND ALSO FREQUENTLY IN PARKING LOTS.

  25. Service brakes, Sep 14, 2018

VERY HARD BRAKE PEDDLE. LIMITED TO NO BRAKING ABILITY WHEN CONDITION EXISTS. GOING SLOW BACKING UP WITH TRAILER, FORWARD GOING SLOW. IF FOOT ON BRAKE FOR EXTENDED TIME AT STOP LIGHT BRAKING ABILITY ABATES, PEDDLE VERY VERY HARD. BRAKES UNABLE TO STOP VEHICLE NO MATTER HOW MUCH PRESSURE PUT ON BRAKE PEDDLE.
