The transmission control valve may fail and cause the rear wheels to lock up.
Rear wheel lock up increases the risk of a crash.

The connecting rod and/or crankshaft engine components may have manufacturing defects that can lead to engine damage and engine failure.
Engine failure increases the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the engine, and as necessary, repair or replace the engine. For vehicles that pass inspection, dealers will add higher viscosity oil, install 6 oil fill cap, replace the oil filter, and update the owner's manual. Repairs will be performed free of charge. General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with chrome front grille deflectors. The attachments that hold the front grille deflectors in place may fracture, resulting in grille detachment.
A detached front grille deflector may become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.

General Motors, LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5; 2021-2023 Buick Envision; and 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL vehicles. The daytime running lights (DRLs) may not deactivate when the headlights are on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
DRLs that do not deactivate as intended may result in a glare, reducing visibility, and increasing the risk of a crash.
The body control module software will be updated by a dealer, or through an over-the-air (OTA) update, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 23, 2023. General Motors (GM) has decided that certain 2022 model year Chevrolet Silverado, and GMC Sierra vehicles equipped with an accessory sport bar. The accessory sport bar contains a high-mounted brake light that may not function. In addition, it may block the vehicle's existing high-mounted brake light. As such, these vehicles may fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
An inoperative high-mounted brake light can reduce visibility to other drivers and increase the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect the installation of the accessory bar and provide the correct vehicle wiring, if necessary, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters advising owners of the safety risk were mailed on August 10, 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed on January 27, 2023. The contact owns a 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH, the transmission shifted to neutral(N), and the contact was unable to control the vehicle. The vehicle was coasted to the side of the road, and the transmission failed shift into park(P), reverse(R), or drive(D). The message "Conditions no Longer Exist for Driving," was displayed on the screen. The vehicle was towed to the dealer and was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact was informed that the nuts were welded to the engine, causing a failure with the engine overheating. The failure also occurred while driving 65 MPH, and the transmission shifted into neutral with the same message displayed on the screen. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, and it was diagnosed with engine failure. The contact stated that the engine was replaced. The dealer informed the manufacturer of the failure. The contact stated that while driving approximately 80 MPH, the vehicle suddenly lost power, the engine began knocking, and the vehicle began to decelerate quickly until there was complete engine failure. The contact was able to coast to the emergency lane on the side of the highway. After the failure, several unknown warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. While I understand that safety recalls can involve complex logistics, the prolonged timeframe without any clear resolution has created both an inconvenience and a safety risk for me and other vehicle owners affected by the same issue.

Leesburg Buick GMC Hummer (Country Buick GMC at time of vehicle purchase) Joyce Koons Buick GMC (Service Manager: Michael Nguyen) • Poor communication from GM: We have received no follow-up communication from GM regarding the status of the recall or expected resolution. We have contacted GM twice by phone using the number provided in the recall notice. During the first call, we were transferred to a dealer in Arizona- despite resid ing in Virginia. On our second call, on 8/2, we were informed that our case had been escalated and that we would be contacted within 24-48 hours. As of now, we have not received any return phone call. • Ongoing safety concerns: We are unable to drive the vehicle due to the risk of engine failure, which compromises our safety and that of others on the road.
