Recalls and investigations

  1. Tires, markingsMar 7, 2023

Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2023 Imagine AIM travel trailers. The Federal Certification Label incorrectly states the tire size and inflation pressure requirement. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

Incorrect tire size and inflation requirements may cause premature tread wear or a tire blow out, increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will install a new corrected label, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 24, 2023. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910033.

  2. Structure, bodyAug 9, 2022

Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Momentum, Solitude, Imagine, Reflection, and Transcend travel trailers. The electric retractable awning has a welded seam on the fabric that may separate, potentially allowing the awning to drop beyond normal operation.

An awning that drops or extends beyond normal operation can increase the risk of injury.

Dealers will inspect and repair, or replace the awning, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed by August 22, 2022. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910031.

Spare tire under the trailer will lower when going down a rough highway. This causes the spare tire come in contact with the pavement resulting in the spare tire coming loose and breaking loose from the trailer. This happen to me and there are also a blog talking about others have had a similar issue. https://www.mygrandrv.com/forum/showthread.php/14789-spare-tire-dropping This almost impacted a vehicle that was following me and they flagged me down about a mile down the road. This was on I70 in Kansas, and I reported to the state patrol in case someone got hurt that I was unaware of since I could not go back. Grand design has been contacted case number 00577328 The tire impacted the trailer underneath several time as you can see in the photos, and you can see were the cable broke the winch when coming loose
