Recalls and investigations

  1. Electrical system, softwareSep 24, 2026

Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2024-2027 Reflection fifth wheel recreational trailers. The auto detect solar controller may select a 24 volt output when the electrical system is designed for 12 volts. The incorrect voltage may damage the 7-way bulkhead power center and other circuits.

While damage to the power center increases the risk of a fire, damage to the electrical system may cause the trailer brakes or exterior lightings to fail, increasing the risk of a crash.

An over-the-air (OTA) software update will be released. Lighting will be inspected and repaired as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed November 16, 2026. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910068.

  3. Electrical system, wiringNov 22, 2023

Grand Design RV, LLC (Grand Design) is recalling certain 2024 Reflection travel trailers. The electrical plug blade openings (narrow hot blade and wider neutral blade) may be reversed on one of the two receptacle outlet faces, which can cause outlet failure.

Electrical outlet failure can increase the risk of a fire.

Dealers will replace the incorrect receptacles, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed January 5, 2024. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679. Grand Design's number for this recall is 910041.

The entire rear section/walls of the camper have lifted and separated from the main frame. A licensed RV specialist has inspected the unit, and determined the main frame has severe issues and the unit should not be used or moved. There were several warning signs brought to the attention of Grand Design but they dismissed it as being within 'tolerance'. I'm a licensed contractor of 39 years and proved to them there is a major issue, but even their own service response technician dismissed it as being in 'tolerance'. Now it has turned into a catastrophic failure. I demanded Grand Design come and take it away. I let them know it has major failure and is a safety hazard, they sent a driver to tow it back to their factory, I even let the driver know it should not be towed because the entire body at the rear has separated from the frame and could detach causing further risk to him and others. They didn't care, and away it went. Mine isn't the only one. There are several other I found out about that the body was detaching from the frame.
