Vehicle speed control, accelerator pedalOct 10, 2019
Dorman Products, Inc. (Dorman) is recalling certain Accelerator Pedal Assemblies part numbers 699-114 and 825-5029-1, sold as replacement parts for 2003-2006 Acura MDX, 2004-2008 Acura TL and TSX, 2003-2007 Honda Accord, 2005-2006 Honda CR-V, 2007-2011 Honda Element, 2005-2008 Honda Pilot and 2006-2014 Honda Ridgeline vehicles. The rotating portion of the accelerator pedal assembly may bind. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 124, "Accelerator Control Systems."
If the accelerator pedal binds, the engine may not quickly return to idle after the pedal is no longer pressed, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dorman will notify owners, and qualified service facilities will replace the affected accelerator pedal assemblies, free of charge. The recall began December 9, 2019. Owners may contact Dorman customer service at 1-800-523-2492, using option 5. Dorman's number for this recall is AS1019XXXX.

Steering, hydraulic power assist, hose, piping, and connectionsMay 17, 2012
Honda is recalling certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL and model year 2003-2007 Accord V6 vehicles. In May 2012, Honda filed a defect report to recall certain model year 2007 and 2008 Acura TL vehicles. In September 2012, Honda informed the agency that it was including an additional 573,147 vehicles including certain model year 2003 through 2007 Accord V6 vehicles. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 625,762. Prolonged under-hood and power steering fluid temperatures may cause the power steering hose to deteriorate prematurely, resulting in cracks and power steering fluid leakage.
If this occurs, power steering fluid can leak onto a hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke and possibly an under-hood fire.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will install a new heat resistant power steering hose, free of charge. The original recall began in June 2012, and owners of those vehicles may obtain the free remedy. Sufficient parts are not yet available for owners of the vehicles covered by the September 2012 expansion, but are expected to be available in early 2013. Honda will notify owners of these vehicles beginning on October 26, 2012, and will notify these owners again when parts are available so those vehicles can be brought to dealers for applications of the free remedy. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 1-800-999-1009.

Power train, automatic transmission, control module (tcm/pcm/tecm)Aug 4, 2011
HONDA IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2005-2010 ACCORD, 2007-2010 CR-V, AND 2005-2008 ELEMENT PASSENGER CARS MANUFACTURED FROM JULY 1, 2004, THROUGH SEPTEMBER 3, 2010. THE OUTER RACE OF THE SECONDARY SHAFT BEARING MAY BE BROKEN DURING CERTAIN DRIVING STYLES. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION.
THIS COULD RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. ENGINE STALL AND UNEXPECTED VEHICLE MOVEMENT INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH OR PERSONAL INJURY TO PERSONS WITHIN THE PATH OF A ROLLING VEHICLE.
HONDA WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL UPDATE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON AUGUST 27, 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-800-999-1009.

I LOWERED THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW TODAY, AND WAS UNABLE TO RAISE IT. I WAS TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE PROBLEM IS THE REGULATOR. I HAVE RECENTLY READ ABOUT THE CLASS ACTION SUIT IN CALIFORNIA CONCERNING THE SAME PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, AS I WAS TRAVELING A THREE HOUR TREK ON A SATURDAY AFTERNOON DURING COLD, RAINY WEATHER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, HONDA DEALERSHIP WAS THREE HOURS AWAY AND WERE CLOSED UPON ARRIVAL. I AM FORCED TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY FOR A TEMPORARY GLASS REPLACEMENT AND ALSO TO HAVE THE WINDOW PROBLEM RESOLVED.

I PURCHASED/FINANCED A USED- 2007 HONDA ACCORD ON 4/2/2015. OUTSIDE OF AN AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN JUNE, THERE WERE 4 CONSECUTIVE ELECTRICAL MALFUNCTIONS THAT OCCURRED AND IS CURRENTLY PENDING - 1) REAR DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW MOTOR SEIZED, 2) BOTH KEYLESS FOBS STOPPED WORKING AND REQUIRES REPROGRAMMING, ACCORDING TO MECHANIC, 3) CD/AUX BUTTON NO LONGER FUNCTIONING, AND 4) REAR DRIVER, PASSENGER, AND FRONT PASSENGER-SIDE WINDOW MOTORS HAVE ALL SEIZED AND NO LONGER FUNCTIONING. IT SHOULD BE NOTED THAT THE SALESMAN DID NOT DISCLOSE PHYSICAL FRONT BUMPER DAMAGE ON SALE DATE, AND DID NOT OFFER ANY CORRECTIVE ACTION UPON NOTIFICATION. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY IN DEALERSHIP'S POSSESSION OVER A YEAR - FROM SALE DATE. HOWEVER, THEY (OWNER/SALESMAN) GUARANTEED THE CONDITION OF THE VEHICLE AS ABOVE STANDARD AND RECOMMENDED EXTENDED WARRANTY.

AIR CONDITIONING STOPPED WORKING JUST AFTER FACTORY WARRANTY ENDED. I CALLED HONDA SERVICE CENTER IMMEDIATELY, THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME $100 TO EVEN LOOK AT MY CAR. THEY MADE NO MENTION OF BEING FLEXIBLE EVEN THOUGH I EXPLAINED MY SITUATION AND THEY KNEW IT WAS OVER 110+ OUTSIDE. I WENT TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP TO GET MY CAR FIXED FAST AND HAD TO PAY A SUBSTANTIATE AMOUNT OF MONEY OUT OF POCKET. WHEN I CALLED HONDA TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE AC DYING AFTER 4YEARS THEY BACK PEDDLED STATING THAT IF I HAD TAKEN THE CAR IN TO HONDA, THEY WOULD HAVE WAIVED THE $100 FEE AND FIXED MY AC FREE OF CHARGE. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE.

THIS IS THE SECOND TIME MY AC HAS GONE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SUMMER IN PHOENIX, AZ. THE FIRST TIME WAS 8/10/2011. THIS IS NOW 4 YEARS LATER AND MY AC MADE A HORRIBLE SOUND WHILE DRIVING, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY AC NO LONGER FUNCTIONS AND ONLY BLOWS HOT AIR. IT IS +110 OUTSIDE BY NOON. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THIS TIME AND THE FIRST TIME IS THE FIRST TIME THERE WAS NO HORRIBLE NOISE, THE AC JUST REFUSED TO TURN ON. I CALLED HONDA THE FIRST TIME AND THEY DIDN'T CARE SINCE MY CAR JUST ENDED THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THIS IS A CERTAINLY A BIG ISSUE THAT MY CAR AC NEEDS TO BE FIXED EVERY 4 YEARS!

WAS DRIVING ON THE 5 FWY AND HEARD A GRINDING SOUND SO I PULLED OVER TO THE SHOULDER. MY CAR THEN WOULD NO LONGER DRIVE. A GROUP OF GENTLEMEN HELPED ME PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND WE PUSHED IT OFF THE SHOULDER TO THE GRAVEL. I HAD TO CALL A TOW TO TAKE ME AND MY CAR 92 MILES TO THE HONDA DEALER WHERE I SERVICE MY CAR. I HAVE A STELLAR SERVICE RECORD WITH THE HONDA DEALER AND HAVE ONLY DRIVEN APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES PER YEAR. THE DEALER IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED TRANSMISSION. THIS IS THE SECOND HONDA ACCORD V6 WHERE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED: I HAD A 1998 AND IT FAILED IN 2006 WITH APPROXIMATELY THE SAME MILEAGE AS THE 2007.

READ THIS THROUGH AND ACCEPT IT AS ACCURATE. I AM SANE, INTELLIGENT, A FORMER CPA. THE PROBLEM IS UNUSUAL, BUT I WAS THERE; YOU WEREN'T. 2007 HONDA ACCORD. WHEN STOPPED FOR A TRAFFIC SIGNAL, CAR BEGAN TO VIBRATE AND SHAKE VIOLENTLY TO A BOOMING BASE NOISE. THE LEVEL OF SOUND: LOUDER THAN STANDING BY THE SPEAKERS AT A ROCK CONCERT. THE VOLUME HURT MY EARS; IT WAS EASILY LOUD ENOUGH TO CAUSE HEARING DAMAGE FOR A PROLONGED EXPOSURE. I'VE WORKED IN A MACHINE SHOP, AND I KNOW LOUD. (I ASSUMED SOMEONE WITH A MEGA STEREO AND SUB-WOOFER PULLED UP ALONGSIDE ME. MY RADIO WAS OFF, AND I HAVE A STOCK SYSTEM, NOT CAPABLE OF THIS MAGNITUDE OF SOUND.) WHEN I TURNED AT THE LIGHT, MY VEHICLE WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE, AND I REALIZED THE SOUND WAS COMING FROM MY CAR. THE SOUND WAS DEFINITIVELY FROM SPEAKERS AND AN AMPLIFIED SOUND, NOT A NORMAL ENGINE OR EXHAUST SOUND. I REVVED THE ENGINE, AND THE SOUND DID NOT CHANGE. THE SOUND DECREASED SLIGHTLY AS I DROVE, AND THEN RESUMED ITS FORMER LEVEL. I PULLED INTO A GAS STATION, SHUT THE ENGINE OFF, AND LOOKED UNDER THE HOOD AND BODY. I SAW NOTHING. ON THE WAY HOME, I STOPPED BY A HONDA DEALER, AND THEY SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING. THE SERVICE ADVISOR MENTIONED IT MIGHT HAVE BEEN THE ANC, OR ELECTRONIC NOISE CANCELLATION, WHICH IS USED TO PRODUCE OPPOSITE SOUND WAVES TO CANCEL OUT ENGINE AND ROAD NOISE, CREATING A QUIET CAB ENVIRONMENT. I ASKED IF THE SYSTEM HAD THE POWER TO SHAKE THE CAR, AND SHE RESPONDED YES. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT, SO THE ONLY DANGER WAS TO MY HEARING. IF THIS HAPPENS TO SOMEONE IN TRAFFIC, THE RESULTS COULD BE DANGEROUS. THE ONSLAUGHT OF NOISE AND SHAKING WAS JARRING. THIS WOULD APPEAR TO BE AN ELECTRONIC GLITCH, AND THEREFORE VERY HARD TO DIAGNOSE. I AM PUTTING THIS ON RECORD SO THAT ANYONE ELSE EXPERIENCING IT HAS SUPPORTING INCIDENTS. *TR

MULTIPLE ELECTRICAL DIFFICULTIES VEHICLE HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS DUE TO SPORADIC WORKING OF THE POWER DOOR LOCKS AND KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM. THEY STILL HAVE NOT FOUND THE ISSUE. IT IS WORSE WHEN IT IS HUMID AND/OR RAINS. DURING THE WINTER MONTHS OF 2007/2008; THE STEREO'S LCD WENT WARPED AND THE WHOLE STEREO HAD TO BE REPLACED. ON MEMORIAL DAY 2008; THE DRIVERS SIDE SEAT CAUGHT FIRE WHILE I WAS SITTING IN IT PARKED WAITING ON MY CHILDREN TO COME OUT OF A THEME PARK. MY HUSBAND BURNED HIS HAND TRYING TO PUT OUT THE FIRE; AND WAS OUT OF WORK FOR ABOUT 2-WEEKS DUE TO THE BURN. THE DEALERSHIP AND HONDA REFUSED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THIS FIRE; WHICH STARTED INSIDE THE SEAT DUE TO THE ELECTRONIC SEATS AND/OR HEATED LEATHER SEATS, AS DETERMINED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY APPRAISER. THE SEAT HAD TO BE REPLACED, THE ELECTRONIC SEAT COMPONENTS, HEATED LEATHER SEAT COMPONENTS, PART OF THE CENTER CONSOLE, AND THE CARPETING AND FLOOR MATS. WE GOT THE CAR BACK ON JULY 3. ON MONDAY, JULY 7; MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO HAVE IT INSPECTED (AT THE DEALERSHIP); SINCE THE STATE INSPECTION WAS PAST DUE. THEY REJECTED THE INSPECTION STATING THAT THE ELECTRONIC SYSTEM IS NOT RECOGNIZING THE SEAT BELTS. THEY LATER CHANGED THEIR TUNE WHEN I CALLED THEM AND ARE NOW TRYING TO SAY IT WASN'T THAT IT WAS THE AIRBAG WASN'T HOOKED UP; AND THEY COULD FIX IT. I KNOW THEY ARE LYING, AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THEIR TRACKS AS THIS I AM SURE IS JUST ANOTHER ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN MY CAR. I AM AT MY WITS END ON WHAT TO DO WITH THIS CAR.
