Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2009-2014 Acura TSX, 2011-2014 TSX Sport Wagon, 2010-2013 ZDX, 2008-2012 Honda Accord, 2010-2011 Accord Crosstour, 2006-2011 Civic and Civic Hybrid, 2008-2010 Civic GX NGV, 2012-2015 Crosstour, 2007-2011 CR-V, 2009-2013 Fit, 2014 Fit EV, 2010-2014 Insight, and 2009-2015 Pilot vehicles. The vehicles are equipped with passenger frontal air bag inflators assembled as a recall remedy part or replacement service part, that may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.

The front passenger air bag inflator may have been installed incorrectly during replacement.
An incorrectly installed air bag inflator may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the inflator installation and, if necessary, replace the passenger frontal air bag module assembly, free of charge. The recall began July 5, 2019. The affected vehicles received a replacement driver air bag inflator as part of a previous Takata inflator recall remedy or a replacement driver air bag module containing the same inflator type as a service part. Due to a manufacturing error, in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the driver frontal air bag, these inflators may explode.
An explosion of an inflator within the driver frontal air bag module may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver, front seat passenger or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
Honda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the driver's air bag inflator with an alternate inflator, free of charge. The recall began April 10, 2019. A BROKEN OUTER RACE MAY CAUSE ABNORMAL NOISE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT TO TURN ON, AND ALLOW CONTACT BETWEEN THE TRANSMISSION IDLE GEAR AND AN ELECTRONIC SENSOR HOUSING WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION.
THIS COULD RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL. ADDITIONALLY, BROKEN PIECES OF THE OUTER RACE OR BALL BEARING FROM THE SECONDARY SHAFT MAY BECOME LODGED IN THE PARKING PAWL RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING AFTER THE DRIVER HAS PLACED THE GEAR SELECTOR IN THE PARK POSITION. IF THE HOOD HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY CLOSED AND THE NOSE MASK INTERFERES WITH THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH MECHANISM THE HOOD MAY POP OPEN WHILE THE VEHICLE BEING DRIVEN.

2009 HONDA ACCORD 4 CYLINDER, 30K MILES, FIRST OWNER PASSING A LARGE TRUCK ON HIGHWAY 80, CALIFORNIA, EAST BOUND, NEAR GREEN VALLEY ROAD EXIT, APPROACHING FAIRFIELD ON SEPTEMBER 28 AT 2:30PM. ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK AND CAR CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE TO DANGERS SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 70MPH. I HAD TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX WITH ONLY 32K MILES ON IT STARTED TO CONSUME OIL VERY QUICKLY. WHILE THE % OIL LIFE REMAINING INDICATOR SAID I HAVE 30% LIFE REMAINING, THE DIPSTICK DID NOT REGISTER ANY OIL ON IT. I'M GLAD THAT I CHECKED, BECAUSE I SHUDDER AT THE POSSIBILITY OF A CAR CRASH DUE TO THE ENGINE DYING ON THE HIGHWAY. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE WAS BURNING EXCESSIVE AMOUNTS OF ENGINE OIL AND FOULED THE SPARK PLUGS. IN ADDITION, THE ENGINE OIL WAS ENTERING INTO THE CYLINDER CAUSING THE SPARK PLUGS TO BE CHANGED MORE FREQUENTLY THAN NORMAL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE NEEDED REPLACING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT REPLACE THE ENGINE. THE MANUFACTURER WOULD NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,000.

2009 HONDA ACCORD. CONSUMER STATES PROBLEM WITH TIRES *TGW THE CONSUMER NOTICED A THREE INCH JAGGED CRACK ON THE LOWER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HIS LOCAL SHOP AND WAS INFORMED THE DAMAGE COULD BE CALLED A SLICE OR SLIVER. THE TIRES WERE MEASURED AND THEY WERE STILL IN GOOD CONDITION AS THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF ANY ROAD HAZARD TO THE TIRE OR WHEEL. *JB UPDATED 09/29/10

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAINTENANCE WITH 33,000 MILES ON MAY 10, 2010. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE PREMATURELY WORN OUT AND REPLACED THEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000.

SHE ADDED A QUART OF OIL AND THE NEXT DAY THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ALSO ADDED A QUART. SHE STATED THAT EVERY 1,000 TO 1,500 MILES THE DEALER HAD TO ADD A HALF TO 1 AND A HALF QUARTS OF OIL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,500.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE CONTACT WAS BRAKING FROM 60 MPH WHEN HE EXPERIENCED AND UNUSUAL INCREASE IN STOPPING DISTANCE. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE BRAKES WERE ENGAGED AND THE STOPPING DISTANCE PROGRESSIVELY INCREASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT EXAMINED FOR THE CAUSE OF FAILURE AND HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE MECHANICS OF THIS CAR ARE GREAT, THE PROBLEM IS THE SEAT AND HOW TERRIBLY UNCOMFORTABLE IT IS AND THE TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF BACK PAIN IT IS CAUSING. IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN THIS MUCH PAIN BECAUSE OF POORLY DESIGNED SEATS. I AM PUTTING IN THE DATE OF INCIDENT AS A MONTH AFTER CAR WAS PURCHASE AS THE SEAT ISSUE WAS NOTICED RIGHT AWAY. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 HONDA ACCORD. THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER DOES NOT PROPERLY REMOVE WATER WHILE DRIVING IN RAINY CONDITIONS. WHEN THE WIPERS ARE IN THE DOWN POSITION THE WIPER BLADE PULLS WATER BACK ONTO THE WINDSHIELD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE WINDSHIELD WIPER WAS OPERATING AS IT WAS DESIGNED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

I HAVE NOTICE THAT WHILE I AM DRIVING AT NIGHT, MY 2009 HONDA ACCORD'S HEADLIGHTS WILL DIM. SOMETIMES SO LOW THAT IF MAKES IT HARD TO SEE. I LEASED A 2009 HONDA ACCORD LX-P IN NJ. AFTER 11,000 MILES I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE REAR BRAKES DUE TO PREMATURE BRAKE WEAR. I NEEDED TO PAY $200 OUT OF POCK IN ORDER TO FIX THE PROBLEM. THE DEALERSHIP MENTION THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY INFORMATION REGARDING THE PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS A HONDA ISSUE AND NOT A DEALERSHIP ISSUE. I HAVE A 2009 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6 WHICH I BOUGHT NEW IN AUGUST OF 2008. I NOTICED WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THAT A METALLIC SCRAPING SOUND WAS COMING FROM THE BRAKES THAT WENT AWAY WHEN I APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE HONDA DEALER WHO SAID THAT THE REAR BRAKE PADS WERE WORN AND THAT THEY HAD BEEN GRINDING INTO THE REAR ROTORS. THERE WERE 31,480 MILES ON THE CAR AS I DRIVE MOSTLY HIGHWAY. THE COST FOR NEW REAR PADS, ROTORS, AND LABOR WAS $522. THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ONLY PAYS OUT $150. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNFAIR AND THIS DEFECT SHOULD FORCE A RECALL WITH FULL REIMBURSEMENT BY HONDA. *TR

ORIGINAL REAR BRAKE PADS HAD TO BE REPLACED AT 15,500 MILES. THE REPLACEMENT REAR BRAKE PADS ARE NOW AT 4.0 MM AT 25,400 MILES. THAT IS ONLY 9,940 MILES AFTER THE FIRST REPLACEMENT. ORIGINAL P/N:43022-TAO-A40. *TR
