The contact owns a 2016 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the vehicle was taken to the local dealer for routine maintenance, and the transmission fluid was replaced. Shortly after retrieving the vehicle, DTC: 03 flashed on the transmission shifter display. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, who indicated that DTC: P0741 was retrieved, indicating that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the vehicle performed normally, but the dealer insisted that the transmission needed to be replaced to fix the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 104,000.

I was driving and the skid, brake, ABS and steering light came on. I was with my kids so I immediately slowed down and contacted my mechanic. We initially thought it would be a sensor. After hooking it up, it was detected to be the ABS Brake module. After further research this is a “normal” issue. A new module is expensive $2500 with the dealer and is on back order for 3 months. We have shipped the module to CA (I’m in TN) to get it “repaired”. I have been without a car for 3weeks and still waiting. This is insane and should be recalled. I hope the “repair” fixes the issue.

Went out driving with my family, and next thing I know. I have a check engine light active, after having three diagnostic tests ran my vehicle, it was determined that it was my low pressure fuel pump is going bad. And now being notified that the high pressure fuel pump is needing a replacement. I have noticed there was a recall between the years of 2013-2017 Honda Accords. I have a 2016 with the same problems as the recall. My vehicle just barely broke fifty thousand miles.

Transmission failed after less than 24 hours of “symptoms.” Car started shuddering around 3:45 pm on a Thursday and by 8:30 am on Friday the transmission has totally failed. This put my safety at risk because I had no prior indications of a problem and suddenly, while driving the car, was unable to accelerate without the car shaking and shuddering making it impossible for me to keep up with the speed of traffic and nearly be hit multiple times. The car is currently at the dealership awaiting a second opinion and confirmation by dealership.

1) power train system and anti lock brake system. Base on the code found in the fix finder report my solutions were to replace the fuel pump and battery. The battery was changed one week ago and it is telling me that the battery must be change again due to an electrical issue. Yes, it is available for inspection upon request. 2) While driving my car began to accelerate picking up speed by itself and then suddenly dropped the speed. I had to pull over and stop the car. 3)unknown 4)No 5)The engine light, power steering light turned on today 8/11/2023 while driving. My car began to drive strange and accelerating by itself.

In 2021, Its been told my starter is beginning to fail. Takes multiple attempts to start car. Does not happen every start up, and seem to not happen when taken in for diagnosis. Mechanic says until it does it everyday don't worry about. Its becoming more frequent, and now the car runs loud and hard. Had a previous issue and had both catalyst converters, and since then its been problem after problem.

Failed transmission that requires replacement with merely 62k mileage
Power train, Jan 5, 2023
I'm having another CVT issue this is the second time. The first time was 2 /12 of 20 with a mileage of 15,861 the transmission was slipping around the speed of 52 to 60 mph the dealership did a software update and it seemed to help the situation on the high end speed. More recently the car was back at the dealership once again on 11/23 of 22 with the mileage of 37,854. The tech felt the hesitation an the jerking motion but no codes were found the check engine light is not on. He drained the transmission fluid checking for debris and didn't find any, he performed an ecm/pcm reset, Idle learn, throttle body learn, with no change in condition. He States maybe showing signs of early transmission issue. The service manager is aware of the situation as well but he told me they don't service the Transmissions they just remove and replace them and the cost would be around $6,000 very unacceptable for a car that has 40,000 miles on it. I've tried reaching out to the service manager several times but it it just goes to a voicemail that says text him or email him and I've done both and have not heard any response back and that's been over a month ago. The warning lamp has never been on but the condition with the CVT transmission of hesitating and jerking is still on going it happens more when the car is warm then when the car is cold. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time and I wish they would look at it and figure it out rather than just say it might possibly be an internal transmission issue. The hesitation and jerking motion is definitely a safety issue with me especially at busy intersections when you go to take off it hesitates and wants to fall on its face you just hope and pray that after the hesitation it's going to pick up and continue on and not strand you in the middle of an intersection. It is my daily driver and it happens every time when I get in this vehicle. Thanks for your attention in this matter for the safety of myself and others.

I DRIVE A 2016 HONDA ACCORD EX-L V6 WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL IS FAILED, AND IS CAUSING A COUPLE OF NOISES. THERE IS A CHATTERING NOISE DURING CLUTCH ENGAGEMENT INTO FIRST GEAR FROM A STOP TO A ROLL. THIS IS DUE TO THE EXCESS RADIAL PLAY IN THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL'S ARC DAMPER SPRING MECHANISM. AFTER THOROUGH RESEARCH, IT WAS FOUND THAT THE SERVICE LIFE OF DUAL MASS FLYWHEELS, SPECIFICALLY THE ARC DAMPER SPRING MECHANISM, IS RATHER SHORT DUE TO THE DEFECTIVE NATURE OF THE DESIGN. THE CAR I DRIVE STARTED EXPERIENCING NOTICEABLE FAILURE WITH ONLY ABOUT 17,000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. I AM AN EXCELLENT DRIVER, WITH YEARS OF MANUAL TRANSMISSION EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MANY CERTIFIED HONDA DEALERSHIPS ON LONG ISLAND, AND THEY ALL HEARD THE NOISES THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL WAS MAKING. HOWEVER, ALL CERTIFIED HONDA MECHANICS, DESPITE HAVING TEST DRIVEN THE VEHICLE, FAILED TO EVEN DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AS ANY PROBLEM. OTHER MECHANICS WHO ARE NOT HONDA CERTIFIED AGREED WITH THE FACT THAT THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL HAS FAILED. DURING ALL PHASES OF DRIVING, THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL RATTLES REGARDLESS OF GEAR SELECTED (INCLUDING NEUTRAL) AND CLUTCH POSITION. EVER SINCE THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL FAILED (17,000 MILES), ESPECIALLY WHEN IT IS REASONABLY WARM OUT (APPROX. 70 DEGREES F), RATTLING PERSISTS, AND THE CHATTERING I MENTIONED BEFORE PERSISTS. THE DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL CHATTERS EXCESSIVELY, AND IS ACCOMPANIED BY A VERY DELAYED ENGAGEMENT TIME FROM STOP TO A ROLL INTO FIRST GEAR. THE SYMPTOMS OF DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL FAILURE AND CLUTCH FAILURE MAY APPEAR SIMILAR, BUT THE WAYS OF DIAGNOSING THE FAILURES ARE DIFFERENT; THE CLUTCH SHOWS NO SIGNS OF FAILURE. I AM WORRIED THAT BECAUSE OF THE FAILURE, MY VEHICLE WONT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP QUICK ENOUGH IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY. ATTACHED IS A DOCUMENT I FORWARDED TO HONDA, WHO IGNORED IT.

THE CAR VIBRATION INCREASES WHENEVER THE CAR IS IN DRIVE AND IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN, PARKING LOT, ETC. DURING COLD WEATHER TEMPERATURES THE VIBRATION IS EXCESSIVE AND CAN MAKE A RATTLING NOISE COME FROM THE ENGINE. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR A FEW MONTHS NOW CONTINUOUSLY. HONDA DEALERSHIPS REFUSES TO CONSIDER IT AS AN ISSUE.

ON MAY 29, 2017, I NOTICED AN SLOW OIL LEAKAGE FROM THE TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE SIDE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR AFTER I WENT UNDER THE CAR TO INSPECT BECAUSE THERE WAS A OIL STAIN ON MY DRIVEWAY. THE LEAKAGE WAS LARGE AND IT SPREAD. I NOTICED OIL ON THE BOTTOM SHIELD PROTECTOR OF THE CAR. THE OIL COLOR WAS CLEAR WITH BLACK PARTICLES. THE AREA WAS MOIST. AT THE TIME, MY CAR HAD 6,274 MILES. I CONTACTED HONDA CORPORATION AND I WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE CAR TO ANY HONDA DEALER FOR INSPECTION. I TOOK THE CAR TO CARSON HONDA WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED BY THEM THAT THERE WAS AN OIL LEAK BETWEEN TRANSMISSION AND ENGINE. CARSON HONDA COULD NOT PINPOINT EXACTLY WHERE THE LEAK WAS COMING FROM SO THEY PLACED A WHITE SPRAY RESIDUE TO PINPOINT THE LEAK. I RETURNED WITH THE VEHICLE TO LONG BEACH HONDA FOR EVALUATION OF THE LEAK. THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT SEE THE LEAK. I MYSELF NOTICED THAT THAT THE WHITE RESIDUE WAS MOIST AND BROWN AND WHITE RESIDUE FROM SITES WHERE IT WAS NOT LEAKING. HONDA CORPORATION WAS RECONTACTED BECAUSE THE LEAK CONTINUE AND WAS ADVISED THAT I CAN ONLY TAKE TO ONE DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION ONCE I START THE CASE. I TOLD THEM I WOULD TAKE IT TO NORM REEVES HONDA AND STAY THERE. AT NORM REEVES HONDA, THEY FOUND TRANS/CVT LEAKING OIL. THEY SAID THE ISSUE WAS REPAIR. ON APRIL 23, 2018, I PERFORMED A MOTOR OIL CHANGE AND I SAW A VERY SMALL OIL LEAKAGE ALONG THE AREA SEPARATING THE TRANS AND ENGINE. LEFT ON TO RE-EVALUATE LATER. ON FEB 18, 2019, I WENT UNDER MY CAR TO INSPECT FOR OIL LEAKAGE. THE OIL LEAKAGE HAS CONTINUE AND IS SIMILAR TO THE BEGINNING OF THE LEAKAGE FROM MAY 29, 2017. THERE IS CLEAR OIL LEAKAGE WITH BLACK PARTICLES AND OIL ON THE BOTTOM SHIELD PROTECTOR OF THE CAR. MILES AT THIS TIME 18,999.

THREE MONTHS LATER I HAD MY VEHICLE WOULDN'T START AND I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW BATTERY. 8/19/2018 THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN AGAIN. ITS CURRENTLY AT THE SHOP AND THEY ARE SAYING ITS THE TRANSMISSION. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE BROKE DOWN I WAS TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SHIFT GEARS.

AS IT COULD BE COMPUTER GLITCH WHICH CANNOT BE REPLICATED EXACT CONDITION I HAD TO LEAVE THERE WITHOUT PAYING ADDITIONAL DIAGNOSTIC FEE.. CALLED HONDA COMAPNY AGAIN AND THEY SAID THATS RIGHT DEALER WILL CHARGE FEE IF NOTHING FOUND.. IS,NT IT TERRIBLE IF THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE PROBLEM THEY WANT ME TO CHARGE FOR TIME... GOT DIAGNOSTIC CODE READER FROM WALMART AND THAT CODE READER SAYS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ANYTHING... I AM SCARED TO DRIVE AS THERE IS NO ERROR CODE AND CAR HAD ACCEELRATED HIGH SPEED AND IT COULD HAPPEN.. WHO IS AT RESPONSIBEL FOR THIS ? AND PLEASE LET OTHER PEOPLE KNOW IT COULD HAPPEN TO THEM AND NOT EVERYTHING HAS ERROR CODE AT RIGHT TIME...
