The front passenger seat weight sensor may crack and short circuit, which can cause the air bags to deploy unintentionally during a crash.

Air bags that deploy unintentionally during a crash increase the risk of injury.

Dealers will replace the seat weight sensors, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 7, 2026. Owners may contact Honda's customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are BOL, WO9, OOA, WOM, XOH, NOC, POD, BOE, UOF, POB, EOG, AOI, QO8, TOJ, DO7, and SOK. This recall expands previous NHTSA recall number 24V064. Representative owner complaints

536 reports, newest first.

  1. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Mar 31, 2023

Infotainment system crashes/reboots while operating Apple CarPlay. Causing maps, music, and other functionality to be unresponsive. Some think it’s because of the CPU overheating inside the unit. It is available for inspection. This causes the driver to take their eyes off the road due to an unusual occurrence in the vehicle. Problem is hard to replicate. Happens randomly. Problem has not been inspected. Problem happens without warning and occurs in all conditions of driving/infotainment use. Problem first appeared after 3 months of ownership (January 2021).

  2. Forward collision avoidance, Mar 21, 2023

The forward camera tied to ALL safety features (as well as cruise control) is defective. I have tried to replace at a Honda dealership twice since December of 2022; they tell me the part is backordered. Because the camera is defective, NONE of the safety features work; cruise control is also disabled. Failure to have the part available is creating an unsafe vehicle by prolonging repair. My car has approximately 120,000 miles.

  3. Back over prevention, Mar 20, 2023

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while reversing, the image displayed on the screen was not clear. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

  4. Other or unspecified, Mar 6, 2023

My vehicle continuously loses battery charge, even when it’s being driven weekly.

  5. Electrical system, Air bags, Seat belts, Mar 5, 2023

I received an indication on my dash that there was an issue with the SRS system. I took the vehicle to a certified Honda dealership for diagnostic treatment and it was determined that the wires on the passenger seat had been rubbing on the track that the seat slides on and consequently tore the SRS wires near the passenger seat belt causing a failure in the restraint system.

  6. Other or unspecified, Feb 23, 2023

    No incidents

  7. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Feb 14, 2023

I was driving my vehicle and it began displaying messages that my collision mitigation system, road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control system, and lane keep assist system all have problems. Simultaneously, my backup camera has ceased working. This is causing my vehicle to randomly lurch forward without being propelled by me, which is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS! All of these issues/codes began at the exact same time and it seems this is a widespread problem with Honda Accords manufactured around this year based on prior reports on this site, recalls to subsequent models, and other information publicly available on the internet. When will we get the same recall that has been offered to other models? My vehicle only has 58,000 miles and change on it. There's no reason for it to be functioning in this manner other than its defective manufacturing.

  8. Air bags, Forward collision avoidance, Feb 11, 2023

I have a 2017 Honda accord, just a little over 5 years old and 73K miles. It has never been in a car accident and I bought it new from the dealer. Last month I started to have lights that showed my lane assist, adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation system, and road departure mitigation system were not functioning. I took my car to the dealer and was initially told that it was an SRS unit failure. Later, they changed and said the SRS unit is fine but the camera is damaged. Honda is considering this normal wear/tear and will not cover this repair even though the car has never been in an accident. The car will not pass inspection unless this is fixed. The airbags will not deploy until this is fixed and the car is therefore dangerous to drive. The camera is on back order and it will be at least a month before it can be repaired.

  9. Electrical system, Exterior lighting, Other or unspecified, Feb 10, 2023

MY ISSUES STARTED WHEN I WAS DRIVING RIGHT HEAHLIGHT WENT OUT, AFTER REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT BULB MY CAR STRATED TO HAVE ISSUES STARTING. ONE TIME YOU COULD TURN IT ON AND NEXT TIME IT WILL TRY TO TURN BUT LIGHT STARTED TO BLICK ON THE DASH BOARD. I TESTED BATTERY TWICE WITH O'RILEY AND HONDA AND HAD 100%. BATTERY PC WAS REPLACE AND CAR WAS WORKING FINE FOR A FEW DAYS. WHEN I WAS GOING TO WORK I NOTICE RIDE SIDE LED LIGHT WAS OFF HALF WAY AND WHEN I TURN THE CAR DID NOTICE RIGHT BULB WAS OUT AND I HAD REPLACE ONE SIDE ALREADY. WHEN I TRY TO FIX THE BULB IS DID TURN ONAS IT SEEM THAT IS WAS LOOSE BUT THEN CAR TURN OFF. AFTER THIS INCIDENT BATTERY WAS DRAIN. THIS IS JUST STARTING AND MIGHT GET TO A STALLING VEHILCE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY SINCE IT DOES SEEM IT HAS ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS.

  10. Electrical system, Feb 9, 2023

Rear backup camera stopped working at 130k miles

  11. Fuel system, Gasoline, Feb 6, 2023

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 MPH the vehicle suddenly started to jerk, hesitate, and would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was later driven to the local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the high-pressure fuel pump was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 33,000.

  12. Electrical system, Jan 28, 2023

My rear view camera has been broken for about 2 years, it just completely stopped working. I took my car to the dealership and they confirmed my camera was defective and said that my extended warranty would cover it, I still haven’t taken it in to be fixed yet but I just wanted to report this issue.

  13. Electrical system, Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Jan 21, 2023

Road departure mitigation system problem, adaptive cruise control problem, lane keep assist problem, collision mitigation system problem - lights all started to turn on in 2017 Honda Accord Touring. Took the car to the dealer. Was told that the entire SRS system has failed. The car was bought in 2017 brand new from the dealer and has never been in a car accident. Unclear why a five year old car is already having electrical system failure. Car won’t pass inspection and this is a $1000 repair.

  14. Back over prevention, Jan 15, 2023, crash

Backup camera shows black screen with grid lines when engaged. Started out with grainy camera view, then ultimately went completely black. Started around 60k miles.

  15. Forward collision avoidance, Dec 27, 2022

All wrong lights came on the dash and all components had failed. Took it to the dealership and they weren't able to diagnose, they reset the system and said that if it failed again I would need to purchase a Honda battery as it had recently replaced with another brand. Everything worked for about two weeks until I was on the freeway with the cruise control set at 75 and suddenly the brakes took me down 35. Very frightening experience. Took it in again and they said I needed to replace the camera in the windshield at $1,900.00: my car only had 42,000 miles and 4 years old. Reluctantly, we replaced and paid for the camera and once again the cruise and lane assist failed a week later. My screen also appears to be defective as it goes black and pixilated and the dealership simply resets it and the problem persists. Took it into the dealership for the 4th time and they reset system and once again it worked for about week... again the forward collision warning slammed on the brakes on the freeway. I do not feel safe driving the car with all the failures happening so abruptly. Honda is not being helpful with this problem and the severity of the problem doesn't seem to be a priority.

  16. Steering, Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Dec 22, 2022, crash

I have had two major issues with my 2017 Honda Accord sport since buying it brand new that the Honda dealership will do nothing about even though I’ve specifically been told twice on two separate occasions that the car was manufactured defected. My mitigation systems has failed multiple times where it just stops responding losing control of the steering and accelerating on its own. One of those times caused me to run off the highway into the ditch. It just randomly iluminates all “mitigation systems failure” at the most random times. Another thing is the ridiculous tire issues I’ve had with this vehicle. I have put brand new set, after set, after set on this car. On two occasions atleast one my brand new tires lasted less then two weeks after purchasing due to extreme wear on the inside of the tires. Two different automotive mechanics have told me I can’t even have my car aligned due to the way it was manufactured they would have to completely swap out major components of my steering and suspension to do so. I believe they said it’s the drive line or drive shaft is to large for the car and it’s the cause of all my tire issues and steering issues

  17. Engine, Dec 9, 2022

The contact owns a 2017 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 2 MPH on 12/3/2022 and going up an incline in an underground parking lot, the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator pedal being depressed. The contact moved forward towards the street exit. The contact stated the vehicle would roll backwards and he depressed the brakes to stop the vehicle from striking the vehicle behind him. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle almost stalled at a traffic signal. The contact was making a right turn and the vehicle hesitated. The contact released the accelerator pedal and then depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle accelerated normally. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The contact had driven the vehicle to a local dealer who diagnosed the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact researched and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other). The contact was informed of a fuel injection control module software update. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 26,000.

  18. Electrical system, Dec 7, 2022

The in dash stereo system with Bluetooth makes loud static noises, regardless of whether the stereo system is on or off. The static noise is extremely loud and unpleasant, and should be considered a safety hazard. The only way to make it stop is to pull the fuse for the head unit. Pulling the fuse makes the infotainment system turn off, which means I can no longer have access to backup camera or the trip computer.

  19. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 7, 2022

FUEL INJECTORS FAILED ON TWO OCCASIONS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER AND STALL WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS.TO MY KNOWLEDGE THE PARTS ARE NO LONGER AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. OUR SAFETY WAS PUT AT RISK DUE THE LOSS OF POWER ON THE HIGHWAY. AFTER THE SECOND REPORTED INCIDENT, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AND REPLACED THE FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. TO MY KNOWLEDGE, ONLY THE REPAIRING DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT APPEARED AS THE ENGINE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER.

  20. Electrical system, Engine, Nov 21, 2022

Issue with charging system (B3 Check Charging System). Honda dealer ran full diagnostic test and inspection. Changed battery. Alternator, starter, and fuses inspected. Continue to receive error message stating check charging system.

  21. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Fuel system, Other, Oct 19, 2022

The contact owns a 2017 Honda accord. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 MPH and changing lines, while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle hesitated and lost motive power. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that a valve adjustment was needed. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the fuel injectors were working as designed. The contact stated the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V060000 (Fuel System, Other) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.

  22. Electrical system, Oct 19, 2022

The radio/GPS System began to static really loud on its on without me touching the dial. The only way it would stop is when I turned off the vehicle. Honda refused to acknowledge this safety hazard as a factory defect. According to my Internet search, it is a common phenomenon with this model but they want me to pay $1200 to replace the radio system . Please investigate! Sad day for Honda.

  23. Electrical system, Lane departure, Back over prevention, Sep 29, 2022

FAILURE TO DISPLAY THE REARVIEW IMAGE. There is a recall for 2018 model Honda Accords. NHTSA Recall 18V-629 This specific complaint is for 2013-2017 models as well. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 111 - Rear visibility. Due to a software error, the center display assembly that normally displays the rearview image may not provide the rearview image when the vehicle is reversing. Failure to display the rearview image may reduce visibility and increase the risk of a crash. Based on my research the same software bug is affecting the earlier models as well. There is a youtube video titled "2013 2017 honda accord backup not working" 17,512 views Posted Dec 19, 2021 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omSIamlD2ok Due to the unique nature of this issue the view count of this video is significant. The only reason someone would find and view this video is because they also have this problem.

  24. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Sep 22, 2022

Apple Car Play freezes up on the 2017 Honda Accord while the navigation is in play, distracting the driver while on the freeway. The driver does not know when this freeze happens until they miss their exit, causing a big distraction. These cars are being sold as compatible with the Apple phones, but this is not true. American Honda is aware of the problem. Nothing is being done.

  25. Vehicle speed control, Service brakes, Sep 11, 2022, crash

I was pulling my car forward into a parking spot in my apartment complex with my foot on the brake. I was about three quarters of the way into the spot when I suddenly felt the car lurch forward at what felt like a high rate of speed. The car lurched forward over the sidewalk and was stopped by two parked cars and a light pole. My car was moving slowly as I pulled in the spot before the sudden acceleration.
