  1. Fuel/propulsion system, May 20, 2026

My car is 2018 accord 2.0t The car just started jerking then I brought it to honda they said head gasket replacement needed, my car was properly maintained and it still happened

  2. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 18, 2026

Blown head gasket after multiple spark plug replacements for misfires.

  3. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 12, 2026

I am filing a safety complaint regarding my 2018 Honda Accord equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine. The vehicle has experienced repeated engine-related failures despite multiple repair attempts by an authorized Honda dealership. Problems have included dashboard warning lights, engine misfires, loss of power, fuel odor, and suspected head gasket failure. Most concerning, on September 20, 2025, while exiting a highway with my child in the vehicle, the car suddenly lost power and all dashboard warning lights illuminated simultaneously. The vehicle became inoperable in traffic and required towing. This created a serious safety hazard and could have resulted in an accident. The vehicle has been returned to the dealership multiple times for the same or related issue on the following dates: • July 8, 2025 – mileage 80,099 • July 10, 2025 – mileage 80,101 • September 20, 2025 – mileage approximately 82,000 • October 27, 2025 – mileage 84,453 • October 28, 2025 – mileage 84,473 • April 16, 2026 – mileage 93,812 Repairs have included replacement of the high-pressure fuel pump and repeated diagnostic inspections, but the issue remains unresolved. I understand many owners of Honda vehicles equipped with the 1.5L turbocharged engine have reported similar problems involving head gasket failure, coolant intrusion, misfires, overheating, fuel system issues, and sudden loss of power. I am concerned this defect presents a significant safety risk.

  4. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 11, 2026

My car is having issues with the head gasket. My car check engine lights came on like a lit Christmas tree with many warnings (Emission System, Brake System, Departure, Uphill and many other more). I took my car into Capital Honda for a diagnostic on 5/4/26 and they informed that it was the head gasket that needs to be replaced. They are charging me $6000 to repair and do not have the funds to fix. Also I contacted Honda Corporate since I read on google that I may qualify for the goodwill program and they said I didn’t qualify since I did not purchase warranty on the vehicle when I got it. I also do see that there is a lawsuit in place for this. I’ve kept up with my car maintenance and never had an issue till now. The car is running rough and it’s shaking a lot. It’s also loosing coolant from the reservoir.

  5. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 11, 2026

The engine stalled on the freeway. Has been having rough idles on cold start. Water gurgling/sloshing sounds coming from behind the dash on cold start. White, sweet smelling smoke periodically comes from the exhaust. Followed up with spark plug replacements. The vehicle still has all previous issues. Upon further inspection coolant reservoir is empty indicated a leak. No leaking fluid has been found. Suggests internal leaking. Issue is likely failing head gasket issue. Bissel v. American Honda Co. has been suing over this issue. The head gasket is allowing coolant into the cylinders mixing with fuel causing misfires and stalling the engine. Extremely dangerous. Likely to cause accidents.

  6. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 6, 2026

While driving at highway speeds, the vehicle experienced a sudden jerking and a catastrophic loss of motive power (Limp Mode). Simultaneously, multiple safety systems failed, including the Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Adaptive Cruise Control, and Road Departure Mitigation. The vehicle became a road hazard in active traffic. A certified Honda dealership technician inspected the vehicle and confirmed a premature head gasket failure with coolant intrusion into cylinders 2 and 3. The engine is non-drivable and the vehicle is at 84,000 miles. Despite the documented nature of this design defect and its current litigation, American Honda Motor Co. has denied any assistance. The vehicle also has an open safety recall (24-009) for a fuel pump failure which presents identical safety symptoms.

  7. Electrical system, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 28, 2026

Car keeps throwing cylinder 2 misfire, replaced all spark plugs, fuel indicators and still having issues. Think it’s the ecm/pcm is bad or there’s a bad connection.

  8. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 22, 2026

I experienced repeated stalling, loss of drive power while on the highway, limp mode, and all dashboard warning lights over several years. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership multiple times and specifically asked whether these symptoms were related to the known fuel pump recall. Each time I was told the recall was not the cause. I was also told recall parts were unavailable or delayed. Based on dealership misdiagnoses, I paid out of pocket for multiple repairs including spark plugs and ignition coils which they claimed were the reason for my car acting up, that did not resolve the issue. Among other repairs I did on my own like replace the battery twice and what not. I have since received Honda’s official recall notice confirming that a faulty fuel pump causes the exact symptoms I reported. My vehicle is now completely inoperable it does not start and cannot be driven or transported. I have filed two claims with Honda Corporate, both denied based on mileage. I believe the vehicle’s failure is a direct result of Honda’s failure to address the recall in a timely manner and the dealership’s repeated misdiagnosis.

  9. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 19, 2026

At 144000 miles all vehicle lights came on and vehicle engine would shake and vibrate. Computer said misfire on cylinder three. Changed spark plugs and coil. Problem still persisted. Mechanic recommended replacing fuel injectors so i did. After injectors were replaced all the lights came back on and the car runs worse. I believe its a blown head gasket now and the mechanic is testing the head this week.

  10. Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 17, 2026

Subject: Formal Complaint – Unresolved Safety Issues Following Recall Service (2018 Honda Accord) I am submitting a formal complaint regarding ongoing and unresolved safety issues with my 2018 Honda Accord, which began during the time frame of a fuel pump recall and have not been properly resolved despite multiple attempts with Honda service departments. Approximately two years ago, my vehicle was subject to a fuel pump recall. During the extended wait period for the replacement part, my vehicle began displaying multiple warning messages and experiencing performance issues. These issues included reduced acceleration and erratic driving behavior. Once the recall repair was completed, I was informed that an additional repair—a battery sensor replacement—was necessary, which cost approximately $800 out of pocket. Despite completing both the recall repair and the recommended sensor replacement, my vehicle has not operated properly since that time. Currently, the vehicle intermittently displays multiple system warnings, including but not limited to: - Emission system problem - Brake system and brake hold system problems - Electric power steering problem (reduced steering assist) - Vehicle stability and traction control warnings - Adaptive cruise control system problem - Collision mitigation braking system problem - Road departure mitigation system problem In addition, the vehicle frequently enters a reduced power or “limp mode,” making it difficult to accelerate safely, particularly at lower speeds. Restarting the vehicle temporarily resolves the issue, but the warnings and performance problems return shortly after. I have brought this vehicle to Honda service departments on multiple occasions. The vehicle was held for extended periods without resolution, and I ultimately had to retrieve it without a clear diagnosis or repair plan. I also contacted American Honda for assistance and did not receive meaningful support.

  11. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 15, 2026

I just submitted a complaint but wanted to add that after my car lost all power on a 45mph road and went into limp mode it then was towed to the closest shop. I do have a warranty but when I called Honda they said it wasn't covered The shop I took it to charged me 4100 dollars for a blown head gasket which from researching it looks like this is happening to all 2018 Honda accords This is low mileage and unacceptable , turns out after I called and told Honda they refused to pay because I had already had the shop look for the problem So I had to pay 4100 for an issue Honda clearly knows about This is unfair and Honda needs to fix this issue

  12. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 15, 2026

Pulling out in front of High Speed Traffic, Engine went into Safe Mode with Check Engine Light. Fortunately a car at high speed avoided rear ending my car. Upon evaluation, DTC Code P0303 (Cylinder 3 - Misfire) was present. Coils and Spark Plugs were changed but car was still misfiring. Honda has a Warranty for 150k/ 10 year on Fuel Injectors but this VIN was not on list based on Honda Service Department. The Honda Service Department evaluated and Car has Head Gasket Leak in Cylinder 3. This is a widely known problem reported on many Honda Owner websites and Honda Service acknowledged it was an issue but is not a “Recall” despite the potential Safety Risk on the Road when car goes in to Protect / Shutdown Mode. The nature of this issue occurring on a well maintained car with 147k miles that is 8 years old and not being a Recall and a Safety related item is being reported by me as me and my family could have been impacted by a rear end collision as car shut down / protect mode. This could and likely has occurred to other owners and possibly attributed to accidents and Safety of passengers. Honda wants over $11k to repair the car which includes Fuel Injectors / Plugs / Coils / New Head as they reflect old head can’t be used even if machined / Head Gasket. This issue is a Safety related issue and should be a Honda Recall as the Head Bolts are a known design issue causing premature failure of the Head Gasket. Submitting this to document my incident, protect the public driving this model and year and hopefully providing information to warrant a recall so that all repairs will be performed under Recall Warranty. Also to protect the public from a Honda Accord Safety issue for 2018 Honda Accord LX.

  13. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 15, 2026

I was driving down a 45mph street when my car shut down, complete power failure. Dashboard lit up with all kinds of warnings. It had to be towed to the nearest shop.

  14. Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 9, 2026

In 2018 Honda Accord with the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine that had a head gasket fail at 110k miles which has been diagnosed and confirmed by local Honda dealer with misfire codes/counts on cylinder 1 due to coolant leaking inside cylinder 1 and 2 due to this bad head gasket. Due to the bad head gasket and coolant leaking into cylinders, this caused the fuel injectors to clog and fail. Creating rough idling and poor engine performance, which could cause car to stall at any point, creating a safety concern for those in the car if stalled/stuck on public roads. Additional discovery information found here of Honda America acknowledging the defect and encouraging dealerships to report this issue with incentives. [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  15. Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 4, 2026

On June 13, 2025, the fuel pump was replaced due to a recall. After the fuel pump was replaced and, in particular, after reading the Honda forums for this car, all the warning lights in the instrument cluster came on. After my mechanic checked my car and, with his knowledge of this type of vehicle, he recommended replacing the fuel injectors at 86,000 miles. Honda recommends replacing the fuel injectors at 1000 k. In the forums, this is what owners of the 2018 Honda Accord are doing.

  16. Fuel/propulsion system, Apr 1, 2026

I am reporting a failed remedy for Recall 24-009 (23V-858). Following the fuel pump recall, my 2018 Accord stalled in traffic on March 21. On March 24 upon starting my vehicle all warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard, Millennium Honda admitted the O-ring was misinstalled. This error triggered codes P0172/P0176 less than twenty-four hours later. The dealer is forcing me to pay $425 for damage caused by their botched recall repair.

  17. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 30, 2026

I started driving this vehicle and all of a sudden it started slowing down, and would not go up to speed. I had it fixed, the car started skipping, making a jerking movement while driving. I made an appointment with Tameron Honda of Birmingham on 3/26/26. As soon as I pulled up to Honda dealership the engine light was on. The company was trying to bill me 6100 dollars for fixing the car. I do not have that amount on hand and I need my car. I had to drive my car away from the dealership while it was in idle mode state into traffic the car moved so slowly that I could have wrecked. The dealership did not do their due diligence by going off of the vin number and making sure that the customer is safe with their brand. I was told that they did a full inspection at the dealership. I have been scared to drive this vehicle since the issue keeps happening.

  18. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 17, 2026

Head gasket failed at 58k miles without overheating per assessment at honda dealership. Safety was affected by going into limp mode instantly turning left onto 55 mph 4 lane road, no warning lights prior going into limp mode. Brief misfire occurred prior to incident, (did not know at time because it did not seem significant and no warning light). Dealer reports multiple 2018 honda accord 1.5L head gasket and fuel injector failures. Unknown if manufacture would inspect. In addition fuel injector has completely failed and requires replacement per honda dealership assessment, this occurred after dealership repaired head gasket. Waiting for final repair invoice, can and will provide upon request

  19. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 15, 2026

I took my accord into Snellville GA Honda dealer for fuel pump recall and the day I received it from the service department, it started to sputtter and engine shutdown. I took back 3 times and got a different answer each time. I believe the turbo charger may have been affected from the fuel pump being bad. The latest diagnostic says it has turbo under boost issue.

  20. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 12, 2026

A 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T developed an engine misfire, coolant loss, and reduced acceleration shortly after purchase from a dealership on 01/07/2026 (around 156,000 miles / 15,000). On 01/23/2026, during a Honda dealer inspection at about 157,255 miles, the technician noted misfires on startup, found the coolant overflow reservoir empty, pressure-tested the system, and confirmed coolant leaking into cylinders 3 and 4 from the head gasket. The dealer recommended head gasket replacement plus spark plugs, drive belt, and valve adjustment. I was told that continued driving could worsen the condition, leading to overheating and further engine damage. After that diagnosis, the vehicle’s drivability worsened, and it became unsafe to rely on due to misfires and loss of acceleration, especially on the highway. The selling dealership refused to assist, claiming the defect was not present at the time of sale; Honda America acknowledged the head gasket concern but denied a goodwill claim, citing the high cost of the issue and lack of NHTSA enforcement on this issue. An independent repair shop then provided a second inspection/estimate consistent with the same head-gasket repair scope. The vehicle and repair records are available for inspection. No crash or injury occurred, but the defect caused a sudden loss of power and overheating while driving; I was stuck on the highway on two occasions with my hazard lights on after acceleration completely halted. Warning symptoms (the engine light) only appeared when the car suddenly stopped accelerating. Two days after an around-5,000 headgasket repair, drivability problems and multiple dashboard warnings appeared, including turbo-related concerns; this concern is ongoing.

  21. Power train, Electrical system, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 10, 2026

I own a 2018 Honda Accord and have been experiencing an ongoing issue where multiple warning lights appear on the dashboard at the same time. The lights include several safety and system warnings, making it look like many different systems in the vehicle are malfunctioning simultaneously. I have taken the vehicle to be serviced and attempted to fix the issues that were identified. However, even after repairs were made, the dashboard warning lights continue to stay on or return shortly after. It has become frustrating because the vehicle continues to show problems even when something has already been repaired. This situation makes it difficult to know whether there is a real safety issue occurring with the car or if the warning system itself is malfunctioning. Having so many warning lights on at once also creates concern about the reliability and safety of the vehicle, especially since several of the warnings relate to important systems such as braking, driver assistance features, and engine performance. After researching the issue, I discovered that many other owners of the 2018 Honda Accord have reported experiencing the same problem with multiple dashboard warnings appearing at once. Because this appears to be a widespread issue, I am submitting this complaint so it can be documented and investigated further. I believe there may be an underlying defect causing these repeated warning lights despite repairs being made.

  22. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 10, 2026

I was driving and all the lights on the dash board came on. Including the engine light. I took the vehicle to the dealership service center and they said the turbo function of my engine was failing. and it was still covered under warranty so they fixed that. One day after the picking it up all the lights came back on. I took it back and they stated that the fuel injectors are failing thus causing engine misfires resulting in the engine light coming back on and the car randomly stalling or slowing. They indicated that the fuel injectors are NOT covered and repairs are around 2,400.00, I believe this should be covered because there was a previous recall on the fuel on the fuel pump (which is connected to the injectors). Also I don't understand how the "turbo" was still covered under warranty but the injectors are not. Upon doing my research this is a known problem on this make and model and Honda should correct the known defect.

  23. Vehicle speed control, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 4, 2026

There are many warming lamps on in the car. My car won't pick up speed it in limp mode once I crank up. I have to turn it off and restart any order for it to go and pick up speed. My number 3 plug keep showing something wrong it has been replaced multiple times but still having the same issue. I had it checked out it's saying the same problem fuel. I have had my fuel pump change and still having problems. 2018 are bad models for honda and there should be multiple recalls because everyone having the same problems. Head gaskets, fuel injection, turbo problems as well as fuel pump

  24. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 2, 2026

The high-pressure fuel pump on my 2018 Honda Accord failed even though the vehicle had previously been repaired under a recall for the same issue. While driving, multiple warning lights illuminated on the dashboard, including the check engine light and other system warnings. The vehicle began running rough and lost power, creating a dangerous driving condition, especially in traffic. This is the second occurrence of fuel system failure despite the recall repair being completed. The recurrence of this issue raises serious safety concerns, as sudden power loss or engine malfunction while driving increases the risk of an accident. The vehicle is currently not safe to drive due to the risk of stalling or loss of power. The problem appears to be related to the high-pressure fuel pump system that was previously addressed under recall.

  25. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Mar 2, 2026

It appears to be either the fuel pump or fuel injectors, at certain times of acceleration the car stops accelerating, the engine light blinks, I have to shut the car off and restart it. It seems like if I slow my car down then try to accelerate, like going through a roundabout or sitting in stop and go traffic really seems to set the problem off. I took it to a Honda dealership a couple years ago and they informed me it was fuel injectors but they were not in stock, they assured me the car was fine to drive, I called a couple times to ask if they had gotten the part, they sternly told me they would call me, anyways they never called me and it still happens, there is a recall out for other 2018 Honda Accords that seem to have a similar problem. All my lights are constantly on due to this problem, none of the features on my car work. Sometimes if I reset my battery the lights are fine for a while but the problem still persists. If I "Rev" my car up and gas it pretty hard when I immediately start driving it seems to help.
