Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2018-2020 Accord Sedan, Accord Hybrid, and 2019-2020 Insight vehicles. A software error may cause intermittent or continuous disruptions in communication between the Body Control Module (BCM) and other components. This may result in malfunctions of various systems such as the windshield wipers and defroster, rearview camera, exterior lights, audible warning of a stopped vehicle, and power window operation. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems" and number 111, "Rear Visibility" as well as FMVSS numbers 104, 108, 114, 118, and 305.

Formal Complaint Regarding Repeated Warning Lights and $2,600 Turbocharger Repair Recommendation – 2018 Honda Accord Dear Honda Customer Service / Dealership Management, I am writing to formally express my concern and frustration regarding ongoing issues with my 2018 Honda Accord and the diagnosis and repair recommendation I have received from the dealership. My vehicle has been experiencing an intermittent problem where multiple warning lights and/or error indicators on the dashboard come on at the same time. The problem does not remain consistently active. The warning lights may stay on for several days, then disappear, and later return again. This has happened multiple times. Because the issue is intermittent, I have attempted to have the vehicle properly diagnosed rather than simply replacing parts based on a temporary warning or error code. I have also had a diagnostic scanner connected to the vehicle. At various times, the scanner has not shown an active problem or has not provided a clear explanation that would justify replacing a major and expensive component. Despite the intermittent nature of the problem, I have now been advised that I may need to spend approximately $2,600 to replace the turbocharger due to an underboost condition. I have serious concerns about this recommendation. First, I want to understand exactly how the dealership determined that the turbocharger itself has failed and that replacing the turbocharger will actually resolve the underlying problem. An “underboost” condition or related diagnostic code does not necessarily, by itself, establish that the turbocharger is defective. There can potentially be other causes of an underboost condition, including issues involving boost-control components, hoses, connections, sensors, vacuum or pressure leaks, wiring, electronic controls, or other related components.

I am not sure WHAT component failed. My lights on my dash will not go off. I have done everything I was told to do, ever down to a new Battery. & they will not go off. My car will not go over a certain speed. Before this, there were no problems. No warning lights & it was driving perfectly fine. PLEASE HELP. When I researched this issue, I noticed a million others having the SAME problem. There has to be a recall on these Honda’s. Let alone, just a simple answer as to WHY this is happening.

i have a 2018 honda accord. it used to have only wired carplay. i paid a honda dealer for the official advertised wireless carplay upgrade. over a year later suddenly the head unit doesn't work. it just shows "please insert usb drive containing valid software license file, and press ok button." many people online are reporting this issue. the honda dealer that did my original install refuses to fix this issue free of charge, and they are unable to assure me that they are aware of the issue and have a confirmed fix. i refuse to pay them to do a diagnostic just for them to tell me they can't fix it, or to give me a temporary fix that will break again later

  5. Other or unspecified, Forward collision avoidance, Aug 19, 2026

While driving my 2018 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T, multiple warning lights suddenly illuminated on the dashboard at the same time and several warning messages appeared. The vehicle displayed warnings for different systems, including a message stating, “Hill Start Assist Problem. Vehicle May Roll Upon Brake Release. See Your Dealer,” along with the check-engine light and several other warning indicators. I purchased this vehicle brand new in 2018, and since the day I purchased it, I have consistently had the vehicle serviced and maintained at an authorized Honda dealership. I have relied on Honda to perform the recommended maintenance and address any problems with the vehicle. When all of these warning lights and messages appeared, I took the vehicle to the Honda dealership. The dealership adjusted the valves and told me that everything was fine. Approximately one week later, I had to take the vehicle back because the problem was not resolved. At that time, I was told that the vehicle needed a head gasket. The vehicle had also previously required a turbo replacement. Because of the seriousness of the head-gasket diagnosis, I obtained a second opinion from another repair facility, and they also determined that the head gasket was the problem. I do not understand how a vehicle that I purchased new and have consistently maintained through Honda could experience these significant engine-related problems. I am especially concerned that numerous unrelated warning lights and safety-system messages appeared simultaneously before the head-gasket problem was diagnosed. I am submitting this complaint because I believe this issue should be investigated to determine whether other 2018 Honda Accord 1.5T vehicles are experiencing similar head-gasket, turbo, and multiple-warning-system problems and whether these failures may represent a defect that should be addressed by Honda or through a recall.

  6. Other or unspecified, Aug 18, 2026

What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The vehicle's head gasket has been identified as needing replacement. The Honda dealership inspected the vehicle on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, and confirmed that a new head gasket is needed. The vehicle and the failed component should be available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The ongoing malfunction caused numerous warning lights and messages to appear on the dashboard over approximately the past two months. Because the vehicle was displaying multiple warnings and experiencing an apparent engine-related issue, I was concerned about the vehicle's reliability and safety while driving. An engine malfunction could potentially cause the vehicle to lose power or become inoperable unexpectedly, which could put me and others on the road at risk. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes. The problem was inspected and confirmed by a Honda dealership on August 12, 2026. I was informed that the vehicle needs a new head gasket. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives, or others? Yes. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Honda dealership. To my knowledge, it has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Were there any warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? Yes. For approximately two months prior to taking the vehicle to the dealership, multiple warning lights and messages began appearing on the dashboard. The warnings continued to appear and became increasingly concerning, which ultimately led me to take the vehicle to the Honda dealership on August 12, 2026, where I was informed that the head gasket needs to be replaced.

The Accord Dashboard lights are coming on for all systems; collison mitigation braking problem, road departure mitigation system propblem, emission system problems avoid heavy acceleration and high speed, tire pressure monitoring system problem, brake system problem brake performance may be reduced, electric power steering system problems steering assist reduced , vehicle stability assist system problem, reduced traction and handling, I have had the car serviced 3 times and they cannot correct this problem. a friend with a 2017 accord is having the very same issue. Looks like this should be a RECALL to fix

  8. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Jul 20, 2026

Vehicle brought to Ocean Honda, Weymouth MA with complaint that HVAC system underperforming. Customer asked to replace condensor under warrany but Honda required full diagnostic ($135). Honda disclosed that 2/3 HVAC system had leaks, and known issues. Honda has a known issue with faulty and leaking AC condensers, heat exchange pipes, and evaporators. They reported this vehicle had leaking condensor and heat exchange pipe. Honda stated they can replace the the condenser under warranty, but not the heat exchange pipe or evaporators - even though they admit both are faulty and often require repair, replacement, and costly AC system recharge. The costly repairs (upwards of $1,800-$2,000+) are passed onto the customer. These failures are confirmed by dealer (Ocean Honda - Weymouth) and considered hazardous, but refusal to fix unless cost is absorbed by customer.

  9. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Jul 16, 2026

The Body Control Module of my 2018 Accord has failed. At 70,000 miles on my vehicle the door locks began to be unresponsive. At 100,000 Miles all door locks were unresponsive to the door control and fob control. The only way to secure my vehicle is to manually lock all doors and use the key within my fob to unlock the drivers door and then manually unlock all other doors. Ed Martin Honda in Indianapolis inspected the vehicle and determined the the Body Control Module would need to be replaced to make the Door locks work. There were known issues with the Body Control Module as there was an active recall for the software of the system. I completed the recalls software update at the time it was issued but this seems to be a continued problem.

I just paid $250 for diagnostic fee and Honda mentioned it’s a head gaskets failure ironically enough for my model it’s a world wide problem I just spent $2k on a turbo charger job on my car last month thinking that was the problem

We started driving and after driving the tire pressure light went on. We stopped checked all tires pressure everything was fine. Then about 2 or 3 hours later every light on my dash board lit up. Check Engine Light: Brake System Light: Traction Control Light: Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS) Light: Adaptive Cruise Control Light: Power Steering Light. There was no weird Sounds and no smoke or smell. Got off at the first exit I could and stopped at a gas station to check my fluids engine and battery just make sure nothing was wrong. Had to get a hotel room next morning when it was time to leave the lights were still on and I drove to auto zone up the street and had them see what codes were coming up. They told me it was the turbo and water gate. I then go my car towed

The turbo charger. The vehicle is currently at the dealership where it was made known that many other similar vehicles are experiencing this issue with no cause. The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer. This issues occurred 1 week ago. All the warning lights came up out of no where. Took it to two different places where they confirmed it was code P0299.

I am experiencing an ongoing issue with my 2018 Honda Accord LX 1.5L where multiple warning lights on the dashboard illuminate simultaneously without warning, often described as the dash lighting up “like a Christmas tree.” These lights include (but are not limited to) collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation, adaptive cruise control, power steering, and other safety-related systems. The issue appears to occur intermittently and without a clear cause. When this happens, several driver-assist and safety features become disabled, which raises serious safety concerns while operating the vehicle. After researching this problem, I have found numerous reports from other Honda Accord owners experiencing the exact same issue across various online forums and communities. Many of these individuals have also been advised to file complaints with NHTSA due to the widespread nature of the problem. This appears to be a potential systemic or electrical issue that affects multiple critical safety systems at once. I believe this defect could pose a significant safety risk and should be investigated further.

My air conditioner EVAPORATOR CORE HAS A HUGE LEAK. Dealership told me they just go bad its not even 10 yrs old 2018 Honda accord ex just go bad a hole ?? But you got lot people out here with just hole in there evaporator core this is not normal and to be told its 2800 to fix and could go bad again in 5 yrs . My air conditioner was fine in September 2025 now April 2026 a hole leaking ?????

In 2018 Honda Accord with the 1.5-liter, four-cylinder turbo engine that had a head gasket fail at 110k miles which has been diagnosed and confirmed by local Honda dealer with misfire codes/counts on cylinder 1 due to coolant leaking inside cylinder 1 and 2 due to this bad head gasket. Due to the bad head gasket and coolant leaking into cylinders, this caused the fuel injectors to clog and fail. Creating rough idling and poor engine performance, which could cause car to stall at any point, creating a safety concern for those in the car if stalled/stuck on public roads. Additional discovery information found here of Honda America acknowledging the defect and encouraging dealerships to report this issue with incentives. All alarms are on. Breaks adaptive cruise control hill assist and all other alarms. Taken in to 2 Honda deals and serval mechanics they cannot figure out what’s wrong with it. About once a month all the alarms will clear while driving and the car sensors will start making the car drive odd. Have to fight the steering wheel to keep it straight and wheels will independently break, thinking it’s sliding but it’s not. Extremely dangerous on snowy road or wet roads.

As soon as I got to work and put it in park I got a message on the dashboard saying “Engine Temperature Too Hot. Do Not Drive. Allow Engine To Cool”. No other warning signs were shown before this. I looked up on google what maybe it meant and to my findings it mentioned gasket and all I noticed recent complaints and claims filed with 2018 Honda accords for a known issue with these Honda accord sport 2018 models for blows gaskets.

  22. Other or unspecified, Mar 20, 2026

The AC system on my 2018 Honda Accord 2.0T stopped blowing cold air due to refrigerant leaks in both the AC condenser and AC evaporator. The condenser is covered under Honda's warranty extension (Service Bulletin 21-018) which acknowledges a manufacturing defect where R-1234yf refrigerant corrodes the condenser tube walls. The dealer confirmed the evaporator is also leaking from the same corrosion defect. The dealer states both must be repaired together because the system cannot hold refrigerant with a leaking evaporator. Honda corporate is refusing to cover the evaporator repair despite it being caused by the same known manufacturing defect. This is a systemic issue affecting 2018-2020 Accords and other Honda models using the same AC components and R-1234yf refrigerant.

  23. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Mar 9, 2026

A 2018 Honda Accord suddenly displayed multiple dashboard warning messages at the same time after previously operating normally. The warnings include: Emission System Problem (avoid heavy acceleration), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) problem, Brake System problem, Brake Hold System problem, Electric Power Steering system problem, Vehicle Stability Assist problem, Hill Start Assist problem, Adaptive Cruise Control system problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System problem, and Road Departure Mitigation System problem. These alerts appeared simultaneously when the vehicle was started, even though the car had been driven the night before without any issues. The vehicle still starts and runs, but the number of system warnings suggests a possible electrical, sensor, or control module issue affecting multiple vehicle systems.
