  1. Service brakes, Jan 26, 2023

My 2018 Accord had 22628 miles on it. I brought in for an oil change and tire rotation at my local dealer, Klein Honda in Everett Washington on 12/28/22. They performed the service and they gave the car an inspection. It said that the brake pads on all four wheels were at 8mm. which would be normal at 22628 miles. Two weeks later I started hearing a crunching noise when I would come to a stop. I made an appointment for a few days later 01/26/2023. I brought my car to the same dealer and they told me I needed a rear brake job, both pads and rotors. They said the pads were at 3mm on the left rear and 1mm and metal to metal on the right rear. $600 dollars, plus tax. I don't understand how pads can go from 8mm to 3mm in three weeks. I had only driven 259 miles between appointments. No warning lights came on and the only indication was the noise. The dealer said all the breaking systems were fine and workinkg properly after they did the brake job. There is no way that could have happened in 259 miles. Even if the first inspection was a mistake or the tech was taking short cuts, the fact that it wore out rear brakes at under 23000 miles should make a recall. Honda had a similar problem in 2010 and had a recall.

  2. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jan 23, 2023

Fuel Injectors, head gasket, cooling system

  3. Air bags, Service brakes, Jan 13, 2023

My airbag light comes on than goes off for a bit than comes on for a few months With only 1200 miles I needed braces and rotors , since the metal used was rusted out and worn

  4. Fuel system, Gasoline, Engine, Jan 5, 2023

The contact’s wife owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on numerous occasions while he or his wife was driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that he was able to maneuver the vehicle off the road however, he had to wait several minutes to restart the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated followed by several unknown warning lights being intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several unknown dealers however, the cause of the failure could not be determined or duplicated. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V314000 (Fuel System, Gasoline). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 82,000.

  5. Engine, Jan 3, 2023

I have a 2018 Honda Accord Sport 2.0t 6MT. The car is up to date on recalls (BCM and backup camera update were completed). The car had been sitting in the garage for the last day and a half. I took a 7 mile round trip in light rain to Lowe’s. On the way back, I was on a service road going about 50mph, downshifted into 3rd gear and hit the gas. The tires slipped a little and the car went into limp mode. The car immediately started decelerating and the check engine light started flashing. The throttle barely accepted any input. I drove it home slowly in limp mode. I had to let several cars pass me. At home I turned the car off and back on and the car was perfectly normal. Limp mode was gone. Nobody's safety was severely at risk during this incident but if this happens on the highway it could be deadly. There are many people on Accord forums that seem to have experienced the same issue. I could not find a Honda TSB for the 6MT Accord. The car is available for inspection upon request.

  6. Engine, Forward collision avoidance, Jan 1, 2023

Engine misfire causing limp mode. Dealer says head gasket blown. When misfire happens, all driver safety system warnings display. Car goes into limp mode which is dangerous if on high speed road. First appeared Oct-10-2022 with 59k miles on vehicle. Second appeared Nov-29-2022 with 60,300 miles on vehicle. Honda refuses to cover expense of replaceing head gasket and determining root cause.

  7. Forward collision avoidance, Dec 30, 2022

All of my safety features in my car when it comes to driving down the road have completely failed. Adaptive cruise control lane assist brake system errors. The car just stops in the middle of the road. And it will pull the car the car to the left or right thinking that there’s something in the road and there’s not it’s very dangerous.

  8. Fuel system, Gasoline, Dec 22, 2022

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle started driving rough. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and noticed that the vehicle had lost motive power and would not accelerate. The vehicle was towed the dealer and the contact was informed that the fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 90,000.

  9. Forward collision avoidance, Dec 22, 2022

While driving in stop and go traffic on the highway with the adaptive cruse control system enabled the system will suddenly stop working. A message appears on the dashboard information panel "Braking Mitigation System Error/Failure: Bring to Dealer". This has occurred twice in 2022, and once or twice in 2021. When the car is turned off, then restarted, the system appears to reset itself. I brought the car to the dealership, they ran a "Diagnostic" and told me they detected software errors and needed to do a "Flash" reset, and that it was not covered under warranty. I contacted the Honda Corporation and provided my service records, and details of the incident. They were lacking in enthusiasm to investigate the issue, as they were more interested in informing me that the vehicle was over the 36,000 mile warranty period. There was no collision, but that does mean there won't be in the if there is a software malfunction with the Braking Mitigation System. I feel the Honda Corporation is not taking this safety issue seriously.

  10. Engine and engine cooling, Dec 20, 2022

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power with the air bags, brakes, TPMS, and emission warning lights illuminated. The failure nearly caused a collision. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the ECU needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

  11. Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 20, 2022

Hello, On 12/19/2022 when I started my 2018 Honda Accord EX 1.5L it started giving me all the warning lights at a time and suggested me see Honda dealer. I took it nearby Honda dealer and they diagnosed the issue and found that there is issue with fuel injector CODED PO301 CYLINDER 1 MISFIRE 1st - CLEARED CODES Upon rescanning - recorded multiple misfires on cylinder 2,swapped coils and plugs no change misfire did not follow. Failed Air Fuel Test – Step 1: Replace Fuel injectors with Fuel Pipe AND CHECK VALVE CLEARANCE (Valve Adjustment). And Honda dealer mentioned that it is not covered by warranty.

  12. Forward collision avoidance, Dec 16, 2022

Well I've had the car for about a year now and it has been good for the first few months, then I ran into a snag. All the orange warning lights for my safety features popped up and the vehicle was applying the brakes on its own. So I took it to the dealership and they told me it was a taillight, so I spent 500 bucks on one. Well after a month it's started to do it again this time worse, and it got so bad. I've had to pull over to the side of the road and restart the car because it kept braking while on the highway. Fast forward months down today and it's still doing it except much much worse. I tried to trade it in because I don't feel safe with vehicle anymore. But where I owe so much on it they won't let me get something else, so I'm stuck with it. I've made an appointment to see if they could check it out but at this point I just want it paid off and I want something else.

  13. Engine, Dec 13, 2022

Cylinder 2 misfire with check check engine light on and limp mode activated. Dealer diagnosis revealed a blown head gasket at 95,000 miles with coolant leaking into cylinder # 2 & 3. Vehicle always serviced on time and at purchasing dealer with no mods to vehicle.

  14. Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 8, 2022

Went to drive my car all the warning lights were going off, emissions warning, collision mitigation system disabled etc. Lack of power so parked car and took to dealership. Dealership said it is the fuel injectors and need replaced.

  15. Fuel/propulsion system, Dec 8, 2022

2018 Honda Accord 1.5 with 56k miles: while driving on the freeway, all the warning lights came on and jerked. Pulled over for a safety measure and turned engine off and turned it back on. Error code did not clear. My first initial thought was a file injector issue. Took it to the shop, After diagnosis, they said it was a misfiring (I’m like ok) they replaced coil and spark plug. After 1-2 months, tissue had came back. I checked a error code and it was another misfire. After a thorough search, looks like Honda has been having issues with fuel injectors but is not acknowledging the problem. They keep getting a misfire code on cylinder 4, but after checking the coil and spark plugs they said nothing is wrong.

  16. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Forward collision avoidance, Dec 5, 2022

One day all the car warning lights came on. After I backed out of the driveway, I placed the car in drive and tried to accelerate. When I stepped on the gas pedal the car barely accelerated. It barely moved. I turned of the engine and turned it back on again and the car was ok again, but this keeps happening from time to time. I've had the car checked a few times, but mechanics weren't sure what's wrong with the car. They keep getting a misfire code on number one, but after checking the spark plugs they said nothing is wrong with the spark plugs.

  17. Electrical system, Nov 18, 2022

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated that various warning lights were illuminated while driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was diagnosed as a computer malfunction. The contact was informed that there was no remedy for the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V771000 (Electrical System, Back Over Prevention, Visibility/Wiper, Visibility, Exterior Lighting) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

  18. Forward collision avoidance, Nov 16, 2022

While driving at highway speeds the automatic emergency braking will trigger. First the flashing of the dash and then the audible beeping and then the car brakes very hard and then releases without anyone ahead of me.

  19. Forward collision avoidance, Nov 15, 2022

WHILE DRIVING, ON THREE ACCOUNTS MY HONDS ACCORD INDEPENDENTLY APPLIED BRAKES WHILE MY FOOT WAS ON GAS PETAL. THE CAR SLOWED JERKED AND STOPPED. IT REGAINED SPEED AFTER I PULLED OFF THE ROAD. THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OR BACK OR IN BACK OF THE CAR.NO WARNING LIGHT WENT ON. OUR AND OTHERS SAFTY WAS AT RISK WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STOPPED WITH NO INPUT FROM DRIVER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SITUATION. THE CAR WAS INSPECTED TWICE BY WESTBROOK HONDA WHERE IT WAS BOUHGT NEW. THEY INSTALLED NEW BRAKES ON THE CAR WITH 20 THOUSAND MILES DRIVEN SAYING THIS WAS NORMAL. NO SOLUTION HAS BEEN SUGGESTED OTHER THAN THERE WERE LEAVES IN THE WAY OF THE CAMERA. THEY DROVE THE CAR WITH NO ISSUE AND TOLD ME THEY NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A PROBLEM .

  20. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Nov 9, 2022

I purchase my 2018 Honda Accord 1.5l Touring as a second owner from a Honda dealership when it had one previous owner and only 14,000 miles on it. Since the day I drove away the vehicle would shake slightly for a few seconds upon a cold start up. I really didn't think much of it at first because I have never had a Honda and it quickly would stop. Fast Forward about 14 days Lateran I was getting on the highway and when I went to move from the on ramp into a lane the car suddenly went into limp mode and every light on the dashboard came on. I was almost killed by a semi truck no joke. I then had it towed to the dealership and they called me literally one hour after they opened and said it was just because my tail light was getting water (this made zero sense to me but I said ok). Turns out that they magically figured out what the issue was (because it would happen once every couple months) right after warranty was up. They claim it is the fuel injectors and they need to be replaced at the cost of $1,600. This is insane and clearly a major issue they are ignoring.

  21. Lane departure, Forward collision avoidance, Nov 8, 2022

With no object in front of the vehicle, the early warning braking system will activate and apply brakes. This is a very serious failure in the system. I have been able to avoid accidents only due to no cars being behind me when these brakes are applied. This is very dangerous at all speeds, but more so higher speeds.

  22. Electrical system, Nov 4, 2022

The contact owned a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the collision mitigation braking system (CMBS), the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), the Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and the Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure could not be duplicated. Additionally, the contact stated that upon parking and turning off the vehicle, the doors failed to unlock. The contact stated that he was unable to unlock the doors by pressing the door lock switch or the key fob. The contact stated that his wife and himself remained locked in the vehicle for 30-45 minutes while the inside vehicle temperature rose to approximately 115 degrees F. The contact notified his friend who pulled the driver’s side door several times from the outside and the door opened. Both the contact and his wife exited the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who informed the contact that they could not duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was traded in. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.

  23. Back over prevention, Nov 4, 2022

The contact owns a 2018 Honda Accord. The contact stated the rearview camera was inoperable. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact called the local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V629000 (Back Over Prevention, Visibility) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,300.

  24. Service brakes, Nov 2, 2022

The parking brake will randomly disengage when the car is parked, so I have to leave it in gear as a backup.

  25. Suspension, Nov 1, 2022

The right side, passenger side, front control arm has a crack which is propagating across the structure. I am concerned about loss of steering control if the structure fractures completely. I found the crack during an oil change. I am the only person aware of the issue. I have NOT had it inspected by the service department at a Honda dealer. I plan to replace this control arm.
