The first problems began in March 2026. No warning lamps turned on. My car began jabbing as I accelerated and a couple days after when I was breaking too. The first mechanic said it could be a coil but the problem didn’t stop after changing it. I then took it to Honda and they confirmed that it was a blown head gasket and that they were surprised no warning messages had appeared. I took it to Empire Automotive to get it fixed, I paid 5K to get it fixed. Three months after getting it fixed I am getting on the freeway and my car stops accelerating. The car behind me had to swerve on the side to avoid hitting me. I was able to move over to the side. Again no warning messages had shown up. I took it back to the mechanic and they confirmed the head gasket had blown out again.

I received a warning light indicating my car was reaching maximum internal temperature. I immediately shut off the car, then took it to the Honda service center the next morning. They did an inspection and determined there is a leak in my head gasket at cylinder 3. There were no warnings prior to the time of failure. I had recently had my coolant flushed as part of general maintenance and I never missed an oil change. Vehicle inspections at the Honda Service Center regularly showed no issues.
Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 20, 2026
My car was stalling on the highway not going over 40, a perfectly maintained 88k mile car that is stock and only used for work and light leisure. The weak engine head gasket is to blame for coolant seeping into cyclinder 3. A very known defect with the 1.5 turbocharged engines recently. The safety of me and passengers was at risk because that’s a 50mph+ highway and my car didn’t go to 50. Yes the problem was confirmed by dealership / manufacturer. Zero warning lights to this day.

The 10th Gen probably with the head gasket and fuel injector Dashboard be lit up like a Christmas tree every light on. This been a problem with a lot on the 2018-2022 Honda accords when driving it lose speed going real slow lose power, and you have to try get your car off the road

I can’t drive the car normal have to drive 60mph or under the radio went out and Honda can’t seem to figure out why so I can’t connect CarPlay. Myself and my kids are at risk due to the car randomly cutting off at any given time. I took it to Honda twice and my car has not been checked they constantly say they’re backed up but don’t have any rentals in stock. Can’t get the car inspection done because the lights are on. No they’re were none the light randomly popped up and said it was a camshaft sensor piece I got that change and the lights are still on. Took it to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and they’re stating it’s the turbo. Which is pretty annoying the car maintenance is don’t regularly and I’ve only had it for a year and a half.

Honda accord 1.5L engine had a blown head gasket at 94,000 miles. Local mechanic has advised that this engine has been an issue with blowing head gaskets early. Took it to dealership and they confirmed head gasket leaking. Was driving on highway and car went into limp mode and all the dash lights came on and car lost acceleration.
Other or unspecified, Engine, Jul 11, 2026
I am reporting a premature and dangerous failure of the engine head gasket on my 2019 Honda Accord Sport (1.5L Turbo engine, 68,220 miles). While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power due to severe engine misfires. Simultaneously, the dashboard experienced a total cascade of safety system failures, illuminating warning lights for the Check Engine Light, Electric Parking Brake, Traction Control (VSA), Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The vehicle currently in the authorized honda dealer where technicians officially diagnosed a blown head gasket leaking coolant into Cylinder 3. This is a widespread, well-documented manufacturing defect with Honda's 1.5L Turbo engines. I request that the NHTSA launch a formal safety investigation into American Honda for these premature head gasket failures to force a mandatory safety recall.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. Occasionally, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked hard. Additionally, the contact stated that the message "Emissions System Failure," "Engine Overheating - Turn off Immediately," and other unknown messages were displayed, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an affiliate dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced, and the engine needed to be disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.
Engine, Jul 3, 2026
The head gasket has failed and Honda knows this is an issue. There is a lawsuit in California about the head gasket failing. With it failing the whole engine is at risk for being ruined. This is going to cost $4000-$10,000 for people to fix depending on the damage it causes the engine. I personally lost acceleration on the freeway while going up a hill and everyone around me going 65-80 mph. I have 11 warning lights on my car right now and it started overheating today with a warning stating that the engine was hot and to stop driving immediately. We had to get towed to the mechanic for the 2nd time this week. When searching online I realized this was a known issue and about the class action lawsuit.
Vehicle speed control, Engine, Jun 29, 2026
I have a 2019 Honda Accord Sport 1.5. I was driving on the freeway last week and my car did not allow me to accelerate anymore. Car went to an unsafe highway speed and it was hard to get to a shoulder where can safely stop. I felt my safety was compromised by this issue. All the warnings appeared on my dash and all the lights went on. No warnings prior to this problem. I am needing a new head gasket and repairs are estimated over 5K. I know there is a class action lawsuit against Honda because this issue is extremely common. I need help. I can’t afford these repairs and I depend on my car for transportation to work and child care daily. Please hole Honda accountable for this is very dangerous and very common.
Engine, Jun 24, 2026
The car is consuming coolant but not leakage anywhere and has misfires at start, it has a blown head gasket
Power train, Engine, Jun 24, 2026
Vehicle: 2019 Honda Accord Sport 1.5L VIN: [XXX] Mileage: Approximately 122,497 My vehicle experienced a cylinder head gasket failure accompanied by coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders, injector-related issues, fuel trim failures, and cylinder misfires as diagnosed by an authorized Honda dealership. Prior to diagnosis, the vehicle experienced engine performance concerns associated with the misfire condition. The dealership documented historical misfire events and coolant intrusion into the combustion chambers. I am submitting this complaint because I am concerned that injector-related issues, engine misfires, coolant intrusion, and cylinder head gasket failures may represent a recurring condition affecting similarly equipped vehicles. Engine misfires and coolant intrusion can potentially result in reduced engine performance, loss of power, unexpected vehicle behavior, or engine failure while the vehicle is being operated. I request that NHTSA review this issue and determine whether a broader investigation is warranted. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My Honda accord keeps trying to turn off in the middle of the fwy and I know it’s due to the fuel pump, I have a misfire and all the warning lights came on. This is due to Honda having the fuel pump recalled that has damaged all the fuel injectors. It took them almost a year to get the recall parts and now myself and a ton of others are now having to pay for these fuel injectors to have a car that doesn't stall and die on the road. Honda should have taken care of this knowing it damaged the fuel injectors.also issue with air bad supplemental issues

MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON ALONG WITH OTHER LIGHT. I AM GETTING THE VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST SYSTEM PROBLEM, REDUCED TRACTION AND HANDLING. HILL START ASSIST PROBLEM VEHICLE MAY ROLL UPON BRAKE RELEASE, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM, ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM PROBLEM. STEERING ASSIST REDUCED, COLLISION MITIGATION BRAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM. ROAD DEPARTURE MITIGATION SYSTEM PROBLEM. MY CAR WHEN I FIRST START IT IN THE MORNING IDLES VERY HARD AND THEN SETTLES. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HONDA AND TRIED TO GET IT COVERED UNDER THE TSB BUT THE LIGHTS WENT OFF AND THEY CLAIM THEY COULD NOT PULL THE CODES. THIS HAS HAPPEN SEVERAL TIMES AND MY CAR IS UNDER 150,000 MILES. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD IN TRAFFIC WHEN THE CAR DECIDES IT WANTS TO STALL.

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the turbo and gasket had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the turbo and gasket; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 168,000.

Blown head gasket. Engine lost power and forced me to pull over. The problem is well documented with this generation of Honda 1.5T engines, Honda dealership confirmed problem and second opinion from independent shop also confirmed, citing they had another Honda with the same 1.5T engine with the same blown head gasket issue. No clear warnings prior to event, all the dashboard lights flashed on when car lost power.
Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jun 6, 2026, fire
While driving my 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid at highway speed, the engine suddenly suffered catastrophic failure. The engine block ruptured, leaving a large visible hole with internal engine components exposed. Oil was expelled into the engine bay and ignited/burned briefly. This occurred without prior warning at highway speed and created a sudden loss-of-propulsion hazard. The vehicle has approximately 48,500 miles and has had regular on-time maintenance via Honda dealership. No warnings or other symptoms were active prior to engine rupture event. Fire dept & NYS police arrived on scene prior to being towed. The vehicle is currently preserved at Sussex Honda dealer for inspection and awaiting diagnosis.

The engine light has come on several times. I was told it was the battery ignition switch, then the sensor in front of the car and now they are saying it is the turbo
Engine, May 30, 2026
While driving, my Check Engine light cam on suddenly, along with my entire dashboard lighting up with all kinds of warning lights. At that moment, the engine ran very rough while attempting to push the accelerator pedal to maneuver out of traffic, feeling like there was no power. With that, I also noticed the temperature gauge start to increase towards the hot limit, though there was no venting of steam from the radiator. I stopped my car on the side, turned the car off, and waited u til it cooled down before attempting to start it again. When restart after a period of time, I noticed what smelled like coolant coming from the exhaust. I have not been able to bring the vehicle to a mechanic to diagnose the issue just yet.
Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, May 29, 2026
10th Gen Honda Accord has a major engine design flaw allowing coolant to pass through the gasket mixing with fuel in the cylinders causing premature head gasket repair which also puts the injectors under immense stress due to high compression. While driving my 2019 Honda accord to the dealership for inspection. All the lights started flashing on the dash. Highlighting - Critical failure detected please stop driving when safe. After a few mins the car’s infotainment system shut off no electrical activity and the car shut off mid drive. Luckily, it was in the morning and not during peak traffic congestion. Had I been going on the expressway I could’ve harmed myself, or someone else. This is highly unacceptable that a car with only 96k miles has a serious engine issue like this. I have maintained the oil changes at the required intervals, changed the fuel pump under recall, tires, brakes etc. After towing to the dealership. Diagnostics were performed and it was confirmed that the coolant was empty and radiator low. Which then prompted the dealer to perform a borescope test for the cylinders and it was found that cylinder 3 had a misfire and was leaking coolant into the cylinders causing premature wear on the gasket as well. The car is out of warranty and the service advisor said to me that they had another Honda just like mine with the same issue. This isn’t an isolated incident and many owners with the 10th gens have the same exact issue nationwide and Honda turns a blind eye and expects us to pay over 6,000 for the repair it’s a total scam! They are making money hand over fist without any recall and just scamming their customers. This is truly unacceptable and should be investigated immediately and Honda reprimanded!

VEHICLE: 2019 Honda Accord LX SUMMARY OF SAFETY DEFECTS & FAILURE: My vehicle is experiencing severe, dangerous mechanical and electrical failures identical to existing national safety recalls, yet my specific VIN is being excluded by the manufacturer. 1. FUEL SYSTEM FAILURE & ENGINE STALLING: The vehicle is experiencing sudden engine stalling and failure to start due to a defective low-pressure fuel pump. This matches the exact failure profile of NHTSA Recall Numbers 23V-858, 21V-215, and 20V-314 (Honda Campaigns KGC/KGD). This defect causes the vehicle to lose power unexpectedly, creating an immediate crash hazard on active roadways. 2. BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) DEFECT: The vehicle is suffering from critical electrical disruptions, resulting in erratic component failures including [mention any specific symptoms you have, e.g., malfunctioning windshield wipers, defrosoter failure, rear-view camera blacking out, or power window errors]. This perfectly mirrors the systemic programming defect outlined in NHTSA Recall Number 20V-771 (Honda Campaign X95). DEALER DIAGNOSIS & MANUFACTURER DENIAL: I have taken the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership multiple times. - In June 2025, the BCM software issues were initially dismissed by the dealer as a general electrical problem. - A subsequent comprehensive diagnostic confirmed the fuel pump and BCM failure, resulting in a repair estimate of $4,688. The dealership refused to cover the repairs under the safety recalls, citing that my VIN is not currently flagging "open recalls" in their corporate database. When referred to American Honda Motor Co. Corporate Customer Support, corporate summarily dismissed my complaint and refused any cost assistance or repair remedy, despite their clear knowledge that these exact defects plague the 2019 Accord LX model year. Because the manufacturer is utilizing restrictive VIN range loopholes to evade financial accountability for known safety hazards, I am filing this complaint

On 5-11-26, I was driving and the vehicle just stopped in the middle of the roadway. I couldn’t go in drive or reverse, just sitting with engine running. No warning lights, no noise, or anything that would let me know there was a problem. Cars was coming up behind me and in front. I called a towi truck, and a police officer. The officer pushed me off the road way, and the car was towed.
Engine, May 18, 2026
The vehicle's head gasket failed prematurely, resulting in coolant intrusion into the engine cylinders and combustion chamber. This caused the engine to unexpectedly overheat while driving at highway speeds, creating a severe safety hazard and loss of acceleration in active traffic. Additionally, it had a very rough idle when starting.
Engine, May 16, 2026
My car has under 100k miles and has regularly been serviced throughout its life. The head gasket failed due a known design flaw.
