  1. Engine, Aug 13, 2026

I own a 2019 Honda Accord Sport 1.5T that has an ongoing, unresolved engine/powertrain problem causing severe loss of acceleration, jerking, and a flashing check-engine light. The exact component causing the failure is UNKNOWN. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I initially took the vehicle to an authorized Honda dealership and paid over $300 for diagnosis. Honda diagnosed the fuel injectors. I then paid approximately $800 at an independent shop to replace the fuel injectors, but the same problem continued. The vehicle was later evaluated by other repair providers. I was advised that the problem could involve the turbocharger wastegate actuator and, separately, the spark plugs and ignition coil packs. I replaced the spark plugs and coil packs, but the problem continued. Another shop later tightened/adjusted the wastegate actuator, but the vehicle continues experiencing the same issue. During a failure while driving, the vehicle lost acceleration, jerked, and the check-engine light flashed. The engine would run/turn over, but the vehicle would not accelerate or move normally when the accelerator was pressed. This left me unable to reliably maintain speed with traffic. My [XXX] daughter was with me when the vehicle became disabled, leaving us stranded on the side of the road in the summer heat until someone could pick us up. The sudden loss of acceleration created a risk of collision and left us exposed to roadside traffic and high temperatures. The vehicle has been inspected by an authorized Honda dealer and multiple independent repair providers. Despite multiple diagnoses and repairs, the dangerous loss-of-power condition continues. I am reporting this because the unpredictable loss of acceleration while driving presents a safety risk to my family and other motorists. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  2. Other or unspecified, Engine, Aug 13, 2026

While my vehicle was in transit, it experienced a sudden and severe loss of engine power. Simultaneously, multiple malfunction indicator lights (MILs) illuminated on the dashboard, and my vehicle abruptly engaged "limp mode." This drastic restriction of speed and maneuverability while in active traffic created an immediate and severe safety hazard, which nearly resulted in a catastrophic collision. Following the incident, a formal complaint was initiated with Honda customer relations. My own independent research clearly indicates that premature head gasket failure is a well-documented, systemic defect within these specific vehicle models; therefore, a constructive resolution was anticipated. While the initial intake communication appeared promising, the subsequent follow-up was highly unprofessional. The Honda representative who returned my call was dismissive of the safety risks involved, lacked basic professional courtesy, and explicitly stated that the manufacturer would offer no financial assistance or mechanical remediation for this known defect due to a lack of service records. The failure of this component represents both a significant mechanical defect and a severe threat to driver and public safety. This report is being filed to formally document the hazardous nature of this failure in transit, as well as the manufacturer's refusal to address or take accountability for an ongoing, documented issue.

  3. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 11, 2026

Vehicle caused a SEVERE drivability condition while at highway speeds by sputtering, losing power and auxiliary driver's systems becoming degraded. We were able to drive the vehicle in limp mode to a near service station. They ran diagnostics and determined that there were multiple secondary events affecting the ADAS system. They also checked the battery and determined it was marginally good. We managed to drive the vehicle in degraded mode to our home and we changed the battery the following day. Upon doing so, all affected systems became available again and the vehicle's driveability profile was restored. This behavior is incredibly unsettling and UNSAFE. A vehicle that is so sensitive to electrical fluctuations should have BETTER warning systems that would prevent, or at least advise the driver, that an unsafe condition will occur unless the battery is promptly replaced. This behavior could easily cause an accident if the driver is unprepared to react to the vehicle sudden and unpredictable shutdown of engine power and safety systems. This needs to be investigated and corrective measures need to be promptly proposed to affected vehicle.

  4. Electrical system, Other or unspecified, Engine, Aug 11, 2026

All lights comes on. Car shuts down, and electrical misfire

  5. Electrical system, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 11, 2026, fire

The car was driving fine and then all of the dashboard lights came on. The car wouldn’t drive faster than 20 MPH. The dealership said it was a head gasket and injector problem. They quoted me $6000

  6. Other or unspecified, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Aug 5, 2026

I was driving on the highway in Michigan, the speed limit is 70 mph. All of a sudden, I noticed that my car acceleration was not working. It ended up my engine misfired and in doing so, I could not go more than 20 mph on the actual highway!!! it was absolutely terrifying, even when I put on my emergency lights, I had to find a place to safely pull aside. I still had to pull out in front of someone to try to get off the exit, so pulling out in front of someone at 20 mph on the highway was petrifying. Once, I finally was able to pull into a safe place. I immediately called my insurance company and Honda about the misfiring of my engine. My car was then towed to a Honda dealership, where technicians diagnosed a blown head gasket caused by coolant leaking into a cylinder. The only warning light was the “check engine” flashing light when I was unable to drive more than 20 mph. My vehicle went limp. The repair required replacement of the head gasket at significant personal expense About $6k +.

  7. Fuel system, Gasoline, Electrical system, Engine, Aug 4, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle lost motive power and went into LIMP Mode, and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, and the failure was initially misdiagnosed. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer a second time, and the dealer discovered that the battery and fuel injectors needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was later diagnosed, and it was determined that a gasket had failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 72,281.

  8. Engine and engine cooling, Electrical system, Aug 4, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The contact scanned the vehicle and retrieved a fault code associated with the high-pressure fuel pump failure. The vehicle was towed to dealer to be diagnosed. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with misfires in cylinders #1 and #4 and spark plug failures. The vehicle was repaired and test driven. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

  9. Forward collision avoidance, Jul 30, 2026

CAR SUDDENLY TRIES TO STOP ON CLEAR ROAD GOING FREEWAY SPEED OF 70MPH. I'M TRAVELLING ON THE HOV LANE WITH FEW VEHICLES ON THE LANE TO MY RIGHT. THERE ARE NO VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME.

  10. Engine, Jul 30, 2026

My car began to not turn on. Took it to the dealership, was told it was the turbocharge being loose. They saw coolant leaking. Paid for the fix. Few days later, car lost power and entered lint mode. Took it back and with simple camera work they check the gasket was leaking. Told that since the turbo before wasn’t working as intended, the gasket became thin. Repairs are above 6k, had no warning lights. Seems this is a common issue.

  11. Engine, Jul 24, 2026

The first problems began in March 2026. No warning lamps turned on. My car began jabbing as I accelerated and a couple days after when I was breaking too. The first mechanic said it could be a coil but the problem didn’t stop after changing it. I then took it to Honda and they confirmed that it was a blown head gasket and that they were surprised no warning messages had appeared. I took it to Empire Automotive to get it fixed, I paid 5K to get it fixed. Three months after getting it fixed I am getting on the freeway and my car stops accelerating. The car behind me had to swerve on the side to avoid hitting me. I was able to move over to the side. Again no warning messages had shown up. I took it back to the mechanic and they confirmed the head gasket had blown out again.

  12. Engine, Jul 24, 2026

I received a warning light indicating my car was reaching maximum internal temperature. I immediately shut off the car, then took it to the Honda service center the next morning. They did an inspection and determined there is a leak in my head gasket at cylinder 3. There were no warnings prior to the time of failure. I had recently had my coolant flushed as part of general maintenance and I never missed an oil change. Vehicle inspections at the Honda Service Center regularly showed no issues.

  13. Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 20, 2026

My car was stalling on the highway not going over 40, a perfectly maintained 88k mile car that is stock and only used for work and light leisure. The weak engine head gasket is to blame for coolant seeping into cyclinder 3. A very known defect with the 1.5 turbocharged engines recently. The safety of me and passengers was at risk because that’s a 50mph+ highway and my car didn’t go to 50. Yes the problem was confirmed by dealership / manufacturer. Zero warning lights to this day.

  14. Vehicle speed control, Forward collision avoidance, Jul 18, 2026

*brake mitigation system , an yes it is available for inspection. *Car suddenly braked hard on a clear smooth road. Going 45 MPH *No it has not. *No it hasn't. No warning until a big BRAKE lit up on my speedometer

  15. Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 17, 2026

There's a massive recall on Honda Fuel Pump which is leading to a stall on while driving.

  16. Air bags, Jul 15, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag module warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The warning light was intermittently illuminated. The contact stated that while the front passenger seat was occupied, the warning light remained off but was occasionally illuminated while the seat was empty. The contact referenced NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V332000 (Air Bags) as a possible cause for the failure; however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure was not duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 185,000.

  17. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 15, 2026

The 10th Gen probably with the head gasket and fuel injector Dashboard be lit up like a Christmas tree every light on. This been a problem with a lot on the 2018-2022 Honda accords when driving it lose speed going real slow lose power, and you have to try get your car off the road

  18. Power train, Engine, Fuel/propulsion system, Jul 14, 2026

I can’t drive the car normal have to drive 60mph or under the radio went out and Honda can’t seem to figure out why so I can’t connect CarPlay. Myself and my kids are at risk due to the car randomly cutting off at any given time. I took it to Honda twice and my car has not been checked they constantly say they’re backed up but don’t have any rentals in stock. Can’t get the car inspection done because the lights are on. No they’re were none the light randomly popped up and said it was a camshaft sensor piece I got that change and the lights are still on. Took it to a mechanic to have it diagnosed and they’re stating it’s the turbo. Which is pretty annoying the car maintenance is don’t regularly and I’ve only had it for a year and a half.

  19. Engine, Jul 13, 2026

Honda accord 1.5L engine had a blown head gasket at 94,000 miles. Local mechanic has advised that this engine has been an issue with blowing head gaskets early. Took it to dealership and they confirmed head gasket leaking. Was driving on highway and car went into limp mode and all the dash lights came on and car lost acceleration.

  20. Other or unspecified, Engine, Jul 11, 2026

I am reporting a premature and dangerous failure of the engine head gasket on my 2019 Honda Accord Sport (1.5L Turbo engine, 68,220 miles). While driving, the vehicle suddenly lost power due to severe engine misfires. Simultaneously, the dashboard experienced a total cascade of safety system failures, illuminating warning lights for the Check Engine Light, Electric Parking Brake, Traction Control (VSA), Road Departure Mitigation, and Adaptive Cruise Control. The vehicle currently in the authorized honda dealer where technicians officially diagnosed a blown head gasket leaking coolant into Cylinder 3. This is a widespread, well-documented manufacturing defect with Honda's 1.5L Turbo engines. I request that the NHTSA launch a formal safety investigation into American Honda for these premature head gasket failures to force a mandatory safety recall.

  21. Engine, Jul 10, 2026

The contact owns a 2019 Honda Accord. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. Occasionally, while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle jerked hard. Additionally, the contact stated that the message "Emissions System Failure," "Engine Overheating - Turn off Immediately," and other unknown messages were displayed, with several unknown warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an affiliate dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced, and the engine needed to be disassembled to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

  22. Power train, Jul 8, 2026

A motor mount bolt sheared causing the engine to shift violently making the vehicle undrivable. The car was driving in a residential area traveling at a low rate of speed, making a right turn when it occurred. Had it happened on a highway, the result could have been catastrophic. The car was towed to the dealer where it was purchased. The dealer stated that since the vehicle was out of warranty, they would not make any exceptions. We have reported this to Honda Corporate and are waiting for a response but felt that because of the safety concerns we should also report this to NHTSA. Here is a link to a video from the service department: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

  23. Engine, Jul 3, 2026

The head gasket has failed and Honda knows this is an issue. There is a lawsuit in California about the head gasket failing. With it failing the whole engine is at risk for being ruined. This is going to cost $4000-$10,000 for people to fix depending on the damage it causes the engine. I personally lost acceleration on the freeway while going up a hill and everyone around me going 65-80 mph. I have 11 warning lights on my car right now and it started overheating today with a warning stating that the engine was hot and to stop driving immediately. We had to get towed to the mechanic for the 2nd time this week. When searching online I realized this was a known issue and about the class action lawsuit.

  24. Electrical system, Vehicle speed control, Service brakes, Jul 1, 2026

I have keep regular maintenance up on my car. Recently all of the lights began flashing on the dashboard. I had oil changed, reset the battery, and all ignition coils. The lights came back on within a week. The car stalled while driving it and had to pull over inside of the highway, turn it off, wait a few minutes before turning it back on.

  25. Electrical system, Jun 30, 2026

Every light on my dash appears, replaced spark plugs , battery etc lights still on.. I’ve seen too many cars with the same issue and we’re being told the same thing
